The wind beat against Rainbow's ears. Her mane pressed back by her sheer velocity as she cut through the summer clouds. Though the air screamed as the sound barrier nearly shattered around her, she could still hear Fluttershy's soft cheers in the forest below her. "Woo hoo!" the yellow Pegasus cheered from the earth below, Angel at her side. Rainbow tilted her head to see her "audience" and give them a showmanistic wave. Her boasting always got the best of her. A cloud smacked against her temple. Something as scarcely dense like water vapor was as hard as concrete for a Pegasus. Although she's taken harder blows, Rainbow Dash was phased and plummeted to the ground and crashing into the forest.

Pain shot through the ponies body. She would have lander just fine if she didn't crash straight into an oak tree. Her head tilted over her haunch to see that she hit the tree with enough force to smash a hole straight through it's side. "Oh sweet Celestia!" yelled a panic Fluttershy who landed in front of her friends bruised body. "Are you okay? You fell straight out of the sky! That must have been terrifying!". Rainbow shakily stood up on all fours, her legs wobbling. "Nah, not really. I do this kind of stuff all the time," Rainbow assured her companion, "Just one of the hazards of being the most awesome pony in Ponyville!".

Fluttershy giggled. "I don't know how you could survive something like that. I heard the thud when you hit the turf from my house!". "All about determination Fluttershy." said Rainbow. "A determined pony could make it to the afterlife and back!". Fluttershy rebuked. "I could never do something like that. But I guess I lack determination. Now please stop boasting so you can save your energy. No chance you'll be flying with a sprained wing, so let's go back to my tree house and Angel will get some ice.". "Thanks." said the wounded pony. One of the benefits of having Fluttershy watch her practice was that she was always there for her to patch her up whenever an a stunt goes awry more often than Rainbow's pride were to admit. Her pal was always there to help her back up on her feet.

Suddenly, the split tree groaned. Both filly's turned their attention to the crackling bark of the mighty oak. The tree began to fall. Rainbow, quick on her feet, ran out of the trees looming shadow to avoid being crushed. Suddenly a massive tremor rang from behind her as the tree hit the ground where the pair had just been standing. Catching her breath, Rainbow gave a wary, satire to Fluttershy. "Dang that was close! Looks like the tree wanted some payback! Ha ha!!" she got up, still panting. Awaiting a response from Fluttershy, she impatiently peered over the fallen giant expecting to see her on the other side. To her surprise there was nothing on the other side of the tree but kicked up dust clearing from the impact of the oak.

"Fluttershy? Bud you there?" Rainbow asked, concern dripping of each word. She felt her hoof grow warm, and raised her leg up. Red. Her entire leg was painted crimson. She looked down to see a pool of blood. "OH SHIT." Rainbow Dash screamed. Dropping down to peer under the tree, the crumpled body with blood pouring from every orifice. Rainbow's mouth was agape. Terror overtook her was the hairs of her mane stood erect. "Fluttershy! Oh my Celestia!". She lurched backwards, nearly puking out of shock. "Somepony help!" she screamed. Instinct overtook her as she bounded into the air and spread her wings. The second the Pegasus tried to flap her feathered appendages, pain overtook her. She crashed to the ground. Fluttershy was right, Rainbow Dash's wing was sprained rendering her incapable of flight. Under her breath she cursed, bolting forward through the woods. When she finally reached Ponyville her lungs burnt. Never has she ran to fast nor has she run with such purpose. She burst into the town square, confused ponies staring as the sweaty, dirt coated, Rainbow Dash before them. "Somepony! Anypony! HELP ME!"
