MLP: FiM Season 7 Thoughts!by Alexriolover95
Chapters
1. Sneak Peek!
Hey bronies and pegasisters! It's me again!
So today, as you all probably already watched, the sneak peek for season 7 came out! And I'm super hyped now! Even more so when the first news came when season 7 was confirmed!
After I watched the sneak peek, I got to thinking about season 7 and I decided to share my thoughts and expectations!
So, from the sneak peek, which is about Starlight Glimmer graduating from her friendship lessons, it seems that it's also the day of Starlight's birthday, which would explain all the decorations, because Starlight was surprised when Twilight told her she graduated. And there's also the present that Twilight is carrying, but we don't know what's inside of the wrapping… Could it be the certification for graduating from friendship lessons? Or maybe it's just a picture of Starlight with all her friends? I guess we have to wait to find out!
Now I was also reading up, after watching the sneak peek, about season 7, and one article talked about the season's premiere. And the first two episodes are called, "Celestial Advice" and "All Bottled Up", and I was like… "Wait a minute…" Because every two part, back to back episodes have always been the name of the episodes, and "Part 1" and "Part 2", like "A Canterlot Wedding Part 1 and 2". But this premiere… Is it going to be a two part or not? Maybe it is, but it's not really a two part episode… Maybe Hasbro is trying something new… Again, I guess we have to wait!
Now onto my hopes and expectations for the season as a whole!
Now, of course I'm very excited for the new season coming up and I know all of you are! However… There are some things that I hope will happen in season 7.
I would like an episode that focuses on Princess Luna, my most favorite alicorn and princess in the show. Such episodes like "Luna Eclipsed" and "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep" are along my most favorite episodes. And plus, I would really love a song sung by only Luna herself, we kinda of got that in "A Hearth's Warming Tale" and I really liked Luna's singing, but… That's not the same as Princess Luna in the real life Equestria. And on top of that, I would really like to see an episode about Princess Celestia and Luna about being sisters while in Canterlot.
I would like to see episodes that go into the past, like when the main characters are foals. Like for example about Twilight and Shining Armor's relationship as foals, or even an episode about Cadance being Twilight's foal sitter.
I would like to see an episode about Thorax's first Hearth's Warming, maybe before the season 6 finale happened, in the Crystal Empire. Or maybe even an episode about Thorax before his transformation into the leader of the changelings, because I don't think we were able to fully grasp his character as a normal changeling. We really don't know how Thorax got his shiny wings that Starlight points out in the season 6 finale, maybe an episode about that would also be good!
I would like to see more of the Mane 6's parents. I read that in season 7, we'll get to finally see Rainbow Dash's parents fully and to go more into the Mane 6's parents would help to explain how the Mane 6 got to where they are as grown up ponies.
I also would like to see an episode, if you read my first MLP short story, that I would like to see Starlight and Sunburst getting together on Hearts and Hooves Day, no explanation there!
And lastly, for now, I thought that the season 7 premiere was going to be about Queen Chrysalis's revenge on Starlight… But I guess that would be too early… So I'm guessing that's going to be the finale. But maybe not… Maybe there could be a new villain or maybe even a great, big surprise, like a forgotten alicorn princess that returns to Equestria or maybe even a new element of harmony is discovered! But Queen Chrysalis's revenge on Starlight seems to be the most likely for the finale.
Well that's it for my thought so far! I might have more to say later, so this isn't it for now!
But what do you guys think? What are your hopes, expectations, and thoughts on season 7!?
And one last thing for now, I hope, as Rainbow Dash would say, that season 7 is 20% cooler!
2. New Trailer!
Hey, everypony! Already got some more thoughts because a new 30 second trailer came out today as well!
But also, because I need to correct myself from the last update about the sneak peek and also because I realized there's something else I need to talk about!
So before we discuss the 30 second trailer that came out… Some more things about the sneak peek.
So, I did a little more research and I found out that season 7 will in fact be the first MLP: FiM season without a two part premiere episode! And I'll just blown away… Because I'm so used to having the premieres be two parts, so well done to you Hasbro for making something new!
However… I also read the summaries for the first two episodes… And I'm still not sure… I just have this feeling that the two episodes are somewhat connected to each other… But I guess we have to wait until the episodes come out to find out!
Also, I noticed how Starlight, Thorax, and Trixie all are wearing these necklaces and I think Discord wears one as well. However… Why doesn't Sunburst have one? He's Starlight's first and oldest friend isn't he? Or maybe it's because those four previously mentioned are the ones who went into the Changelings' hive in the second part of "To Where and Back Again" and the necklace are only for those who went in? Or maybe it could have been something that was made by Thorax and the other changelings in the Changeling Kingdom, for him and the others who went into the hive. Again, I guess we have to wait to find out!
Now to discuss the 30 second trailer that came out…
So from what I can see… It looks like Starlight and Sunburst are attempting a new spell, whether it's from the first or second new episode, we don't know… But it's most likely going to be in the first. And it's obviously taking place in Sunburst's house in the Crystal Empire.
And the spell… It kinda of reminds me of Starlight's revenge on Twilight in the season 5 finale, when Starlight messes up the friendship map of Equestria. So, is this spell, that sucks both Starlight and Sunburst into it like a black hole, takes the two into alternate versions of Equestria?
And what's with the ghostly image of Princess Celestia and Twilight? (And I think Spike's with them as well) Obviously, it's from the spell, but what does it mean? Like was the spell created by Celestia and that's why she's there? I don't really know… What do you guys think?
And again, please share your thoughts about season 7! I want to know what you guys are thinking, so we can share our thoughts!
And hopefully, we'll get more teasers for season 7!
3. Two New Episode Titles and Summaries!
Hey everypony! Some more news came out for season 7 if you haven't seen it already!
The third and fourth episode titles and summaries for season 7have been released on the MLP: FiM wiki site! So I'm here to discuss about them!
P.S., if you hate spoilers, than don't read!
So the third episode's title is "A Flurry of Emotions" and the summary reads, ""After planning a jam-packed day, Twilight Sparkle also agrees to babysit her niece, Flurry Heart. But with Flurry Heart along for the ride, Twilight Sparkle struggles to maintain her title as 'The Best Aunt Ever' while keeping Flurry Heart out of trouble!"
Well what do I think of this… I think I'm going to love this episode! I love Flurry Heart, she's so cute and lovable! And an episode that finally focuses on her is going to be awesome! And Twilight… Oh boy… It sounds like she has her work cut out for her…
I think Twilight is putting too much pressure on herself to becoming a great aunt, although I think it's rather sweet and touching that Twilight wants to spend time with her niece, but this is not the way Twilight!
I feel like at the end of the episode Twilight's going to regret her decision and feel like she's not a great aunt, but Flurry Heart thinks otherwise when Twilight gives her back to Cadance and Shining Armor.
Now for the next episode, which is titled, "Rock Solid Friendship" and the summary reads, "When Pinkie Pie learns that Maud might move to Ponyville, she does everything she can to make sure her sister sees that it has more to offer than just rocks."
I feel like I'm not going to like this episode as much as the one about Twilight babysitting Flurry Heart. (Still going to watch this episode of course!) But just like the third episode, I think that now Pinkie has her work cut out for her, although not as much as Twilight.
I don't really know what to say about this episode, I feel like it's going to be similar to the episode "Maud Pie", but instead of Pinkie trying to introduce her sister to her friends, she introduces Maud to the actual town.
So that's my current thoughts on this subject!
What do you guys think!? Remember to leave your thoughts down below in the reviews!
4. Yet Another Teaser!
Hey, what's up all my good bronies and pegasisters!
I'm a bit late to say this… But… Yet another teaser has come for season 7 three days ago! And it made me remind me of an important fact… One of the very first things in MLP: FiM…
And that's the fact that Princess Celestia sent Twilight to Ponyville for the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration and as we all know, that's when Twilight meets Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity and with her new friends defeats Nightmare Moon. And Twilight stays in Ponyville and learns all about friendship from her friends, not really needing the guidance of her mentor, Princess Celestia anymore.
And the new teaser that came out is the same situation, but for Starlight! Which raises an important question… What's going to happen to Starlight after Twilight says that there's nothing more Starlight has to learn? Will Starlight stay in Twilight's castle? Or will Starlight go somewhere else in Equestria?
If Starlight does leave Ponyville, I would have to guess she would go back to her old village or the village she grew up in when she was still a filly and friends with Sunburst… Which also… If that happens… Will we get to meet Starlight's parents? Maybe there will even be an episode where Starlight is reunited with her parents!
Maybe Starlight will go to somewhere in Equestria we have yet to see, but we know for, for example, Fillydelphia. That would be very good to see! But I do hope that Starlight ends up staying with Twilight in her castle! But if she ends up being sent away… I guess I can live with that! Just as long as we see Starlight again!
5. New Promo!
Hey everypony! Yet some more stuff about season 7!
Yesterday, a new promo came out for season 7!
Not a whole lot to say really as it showed mostly stuff we have already seen, but there are two things I noticed in the promo.
First, who's hugging Cadance and Shining Armor? And where are the royal couple? It's certainly not the Crystal Empire, at least I don't think, it seems like it's in an art studio of some kind, seeing that there are some paintings in the background. Also, Cadance doesn't seem all too happy, she has like a nervous face on, while Shining Armor has a smile.
I have like this feeling that maybe the pony that's hugging Cadance and Shining Armor is maybe Shining Armor's friend? Or maybe this could be the "A Flurry of Emotions" episode, the one where Twilight babysits her niece, and Cadance and Shining Armor are looking for a babysitter and the pair found one? But maybe Cadance doesn't like and trust this pony with her baby?
I don't know… What do you guys think?
And this leads me to the second thing I wanted to state and that's the part of the promo where Flurry Heart's in a shopping cart, unattended and racing down an aisle in a toy store. This is most likely in "A Flurry of Emotions" episode. I could just imagine Twilight chasing after Flurry Heart in the toy store! LOL!
That's pretty much it for now…
So stay tuned for more stuff if it comes out and I'll be back to talk about it!
6. Four New Episode Titles and Summaries!
Hey everypony!
I was checking the MLP: FiM wiki site today and something big was updated… The titles and summaries of the fourth through eight episodes of season 7!
If you hate spoilers, than read no further!
Okay, so lets start with the fourth episode, which is called, "Fluttershy Leans in" and the summary is, ""Fluttershy is determined to make her career dreams come true with the help of some very special ponies. But when her true vision is not being executed properly, she must find a way to stand up and fight for her ideas."
Okay, so out of the new four episodes that are revealed, this has got to be my favorite! Out of the Mane 6, my personality is the closet to Fluttershy, at least for most of my life. And from the summary, I have a feeling it's going to similar to "Putting Your Hoof Down", in which Fluttershy learns techniques to stand up for herself, but it goes too far.
And career dreams? Doesn't Fluttershy already take care of all the animals in Ponyville? Maybe she wants to officially make like an animal shelter in Ponyville or a hospital for them? And "some very special ponies"? It's probably her friends, but it could be her family, her parents and brother, Zephyr Breeze.
Moving on to the next episode, which is called, "Forever Filly" and the summary is, ""When Rarity surprises Sweetie Belle with a special day together filled with all of her favorite activities, she quickly learns that her little sister is no longer the little foal she used to be."
Sounds like it's going to be similar to "Sisterhooves Social", but Rarity and Sweetie Belle have their own version of the special event in Ponyville. And I can pretty much guess that Rarity doesn't want Sweetie Belle to grow up, so she treats the filly, well, like a filly. There's not much else I can say about this… So lets move on the next episode!
Next episode is called, "Parental Glideance" and the summary is, ""When Rainbow Dash's parents discover she's a Wonderbolt, they show up at every event to cheer her on. However, their unabashed enthusiasm proves to be rather embarrassing and pushes Rainbow Dash to the brink."
First off, YES! We finally get to see RD's parents! We actually do see RD's dad in a couple of episodes, "Games Ponies Play" and "A Hearth's Warming Tail", but he never talks or gets really much of an appearance. And the fact that we still don't know who RD's mom is, but we'll find out soon enough!
Now, I'm also excited for the fact that this is really the first time in MLP: FiM, at least I think, that we see a conflict between parents and their children. It's actually very nice that this episode will seem to mirror what every child growing up has to face with his or her parents, the parents embarrassing their children. But in the end, we still love our parents and I hope RD still will love her mom and dad.
And last, but not least, the final episode title and summary, but hold on…
(Goes into a fit of rage, knocking over chairs and tables and kicking things with my feet, JK! LOL!)
Okay… So this episode's title is, "Hard to Say Anything", and the summary is, "When the Cutie Mark Crusaders discover that Big Mac has his first crush, they vow to help him win Sugar Belle's heart before Feather Bangs does it first."
First off… NO! WHY!? Okay… So throughout the show, we first saw Big Mac x Cheerilee (in fact this new episode might be similar to "Heart and Hooves Day") in which the CMCs thought the two were perfect and that's when Big Mac x Cheerilee were introduced into the fandom. Then, in Hearthbreakers", we get Big Mac x Marble Pie and this was the couple I hoped would happen, since those two seemed to have more in common. And now we get this upcoming episode… That's Big Mac x Sugar Belle…
Okay… So I can see the appeal in this, I'm not disapproving of this fully, the fact that Big Mac and Sugar Belle have yet to see each other. From what I can guess, Sugar Belle and the rest of her friends decide to visit Starlight in Ponyville, since it wouldn't be very likely that the Apple family would visit Starlight's village. And then during the visit, Big Mac (Possibly with Apple Bloom) sees Sugar Belle and is taken away by her, Apple Bloom notices and alerts the rest of the CMCs about this new development.
But I'm also intrigued by this new character called Feather Bangs… I tried looking him up, but found no pictures, so this is certainly a new character. And by the name of him, I'm guessing he's a pegasus. He's probably going to be one of those pushy guys, by the sound of it, those guys who don't take no for an answer. And I have this feeling that Big Mac is going to end up standing up for Sugar Belle against Feather Bangs, to which Sugar Belle then falls for Big Mac.
Yeah… All you Big Mac x Cheerilee and Big Mac x Marble Pie are probably sighing in your head right now… But you know… Maybe it wouldn't be so bad… I guess we have to wait to find out!
Well that's it… One of the biggest pieces of news for season 7 so far! I hope you ponies are really excited now, because I sure am! And make sure to leave your thoughts below in the reviews and I'll see you when I find out more news about season 7!
7. First Teaser for the MLP Movie!
What's up everypony!
Some more MLP: FiM news! And it's not even for season 7!
Yeah, I know, the title says that this is for season 7, but this is way too exciting!
So… The very first teaser for the My Little Pony movie came out! OMG… I'm so super very excited now! I feel like Pinkie Pie on steroids! If you haven't seen it yet, go see it!
Now, there's not much to say, since this first teaser showed very little. A couple of things stood out to me.
First, the time period this movie is set in. Clearly it's during the time Twilight is an alicorn, since Twilight is seen flying, flapping her alicorn wings, so that's for sure. What we don't know is, when exactly does the movie take place in the show? It's most likely going to be after season 7, since the movie does have a whole lot of new characters in it. And the new characters in the movie are probably going to be in season 8, when that comes out. But that's just my guess on that.
And second thing that I want to mention is that the animation in the teaser is so different from the show, to the point where I'm like… Oh god… I don't know if I like this new animation or I hate it… I was hoping that they would just use the same level of animation of the show for the movie.
But at the same time, I don't think it's that bad… I mean, when studios make movies for animated TV shows, it's often different, like the Simpsons and the movie for that show. So I guess the producers of the My Little Pony movie are following that trend and who knows… I might end up really liking the animation in the movie better than the the animation in the show!
That's it for that, I'll see everypony next time, when more season 7 news comes out or when more news about the My Little Pony movie comes out!
8. Promo, Bells, and Sneak Peek!
Hey everypony!
We are so close to the premiere of Season 7! Just a couple of days left before we can enjoy a whole another season of ponies! Gosh… I feel like Pinkie Pie times a million right now!
Anyway… Some more stuff came out yesterday, like a new promo, Tara Strong ringing the bell at Nasdaq and a new sneak peek!
First of all, the new promo was very funny! It was the adaption of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, except this one was called Fresh Princess of Friendship! It was very funny! I don't think there's much to say on that, but other than that you should watch it!
Second, The ponies at Nasdaq… Well… I'm really just surprised that the New York Stock Exchange would even have such a thing like this! You don't believe me? Just go to the Equestria Daily Youtube channel! It was just so amazing that the Exchange would help announce the new season coming out! I guess America's really becoming a ponified nation! And the fact that Tara Strong was there just made it a hundred times better!
And last, but not least… The new sneak peek that came out! Now I know why the first episode is called "Celestial Advice"! There's not much to say on this, since we have seen part of this new sneak peek in a previous promo already and plus I really don't want to spoil you ponies too much! See the sneak peek for yourself!
Well this will most likely be the last update for this little thing, unlike some last minute news comes out, in which case I will surely talk about it! In any case… As Discord would say… Looks like we're in for a big storm of chaos!
9. The Season so far!
Hey everypony!
Since Season 7 is on hiatus and it isn't clear when the season is returning, I thought I might as well continue on with my thoughts for the season while we're all waiting for its return!
First, I would like to offer my thoughts on the season so far!
Now, season 7 is generally great so far, I really do love the season and it has so much new stuff in it never before seen in the show.
However… The season almost did fail for me…
Don't get me wrong, I love it so far, the season premiere was very good in my opinion and made a strong start to the season.
However, the episodes then became not so great… I felt like generally the episodes weren't really stuff that would be memorable. But it was still good and I did enjoy them.
However then the season really picked up, episodes like "A Royal Problem" and "The Perfect Pear" were really great and I feel like will be very memorable.
Which brings me to my next point…
Season 7, I feel like, touches more on the family aspect of friendship, something we never really got to see mostly in all the other seasons. And I really do like that fact.
For example, "Rock Solid Friendship", "Forever Filly", and "A Royal Problem", focuses on the sister relationship, the relationships between Pinkie Pie and Maud, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, and then Princesses Celestia and Luna.
We also have the relationship between children and their parents, like in "Parental Glideance" and "The Perfect Pear", between Rainbow Dash and her parents and then Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Big Mac's parents.
And finally, we have the relationship of niece and aunt, like in "A Flurry of Emotions", between Flurry Heart and Twilight.
That's it for now, but looking at the list of all the upcoming episodes, there's more family relationships, which I will talk about at a later time.
And finally, I will like to bring up my most favorite point to make…
Which is Starlight Glimmer's role in the show.
As all of you probably know, Starlight is one of my most top favorite characters in the story, probably the number one after the Mane 6 and the princesses.
And Starlight's role in Season 7 is very well done.
I really do love that the season premiere focuses on Starlight and her next move in her life from graduating from friendship lessons and "All Bottled Up" is probably my most favorite Starlight episode so far. (It's a tie with "Every Little Thing She Does")
And I do like how it was Starlight who was sent to solve the friendship problem between Princesses Celestia and Luna in "A Royal Problem". It was rather surprising to see that the map table in Twilight's castle decided to send Starlight and at the end when Starlight's cutie mark did the flashing thing which signals a job done.
And how she was able to mostly do it on her own really showed how far she has come in her friendship studies, even thought she did switch the princesses' cutie marks!
Well I think that's about it…
There might be many points I missed, but let me know what you guys think of the season so far! And it will fill the gaps I missed!
Next time we'll begin to talk about the upcoming episodes and my thoughts on them! So see you next time!
10. Episodes 14,15,16!
Hey everypony!
I'm back and now we'll begin to talk about all the upcoming episodes so far that have been listed!
Now I'm not going to do all of them in one go, I'm going to talk about just three of them for each update.
And in case you're wondering, I'm getting all of this info from the MLP: FiM Wikia site and if you don't want to be spoiled, than don't read on!
Okay first lets start off with "Fame and Misfortune" and here's the summary:
"Twilight Sparkle's publishing of the friendship journal has unintended consequences when ponies start to argue over who wrote the best lessons."
I kinda of like this idea of publishing the friendship journal into an official book for all the ponies of Equestria to read and maybe those beyond Equestria, like the changelings and dragons.
And clearly the title is a play on the expression, "Fame and fortune."
Now what I am wondering is when do the Mane 6, not including Twilight, start to argue… Like do they start to argue after the journal has been published and is being read by Equestria, because they want the most fame for what they wrote.
Or do they argue before its published while reading over it before sending it to be publisher to make it official. In which case its going to lead into a lot of sleepless nights to revise what they wrote!
Now for the next one, "Triple Threat" and here's the summary:
"Spike accidentally invites Ember and Thorax to Ponyville on the same day. He's sure the two new leaders are not going to get along so he does all he can to keep them apart and cover the fact that the other is there."
I actually like this one the best out of the three that I'm talking about today.
It's really nice to see Ember again and more Thorax, which I'm very happy about, seeing that we didn't really get to see a lot of him while he was still a normal changeling in Season 6.
But… Now that I'm thinking about it… Why does Spike work so hard to keep the two apart?
Were the changelings and dragons once enemies with each other? And Spike thinks that the two new leaders will still hold on to that rivalry?
But I do have the feeling that maybe it will end with Ember and Thorax being friends with each other, and Spike's very surprised to see them get along. If that's the case… Cue the shipping for Ember and Thorax!
And lastly, "Campfire Tales" and here's the summary:
"When their sister camping trip is ruined by Fly-ders, Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash tell Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo the stories of their favorite legends; inspired by the tales, the girls make the most out of their new situation."
There's not much I can say on this one because I feel like this episode is just a remake of the Season three episode, "Sleepless in Ponyville", in which AJ, RD, and Rarity take their little sisters camping in the woods. This episode has the same exact basic idea.
Except in this episode, something else, rather than Scootaloo, ruins the camping trip.
So I don't think I'll really enjoy this episode, but I have to wait for it to actually come and see it to make my final judgment!
Well that's it for now, when we come back we'll do the next three upcoming episodes!
11. Episodes 18,19,20!
Hey everypony! Back with the next three episodes continuing from last time!
Now, from the wikia site, there must be a typo or something because the 17th episode is skipped for some reason. It's probably a typo, but in case it's not, we're beginning from the 18th episode! (According to the site)
Also… Season 7 is coming back in August! So I bet you all are looking froward to that!
Now lets continue!
Okay, first off, lets start with "A Health of Information" and here's the sumamry:
"While helping Fluttershy gather supplies, Zecora comes down with a terrible disease called Swamp Fever; even though a cure has not been discovered, Fluttershy makes it her mission to heal Zecora no matter what it takes."
Now wow… An actual dire situation… And here I thought Equestria was free from disease!
There's not much to say on this and I'm not sure if this will be on my top favorites for the season. I can only guess that Fluttershy will be the one to finally find the cure to this Swamp Fever. In that case… Celestia better have a medical award to give to Fluttershy!
Next, and my most favorite out of the three we're talking about today, "To Change a Changeling" and there are actually two summaries for this one:
From Discovery Family: "...Pharynx learns that love is a strength and not a weakness…"
From Screener: "Starlight Glimmer and Trixie try to get Thorax's brother Pharynx to accept the new way by sharing love and transforming so he doesn't undermine Thorax's leadership, and that the hive will ultimately accept him."
Now I'm happy that Thorax gets more screen time than he did in Season 6, because I was a bit disappointed there wasn't another episode focused on him in Season 6 after he was accepted into the Crystal Empire.
However… This episode is really interesting to me because I'm confused…
If Thorax has a brother, than are there many changeling families?
Because I thought the changelings are all one big family, being that they are a hive and their lifestyle is quite similar to bees. Both bees and changelings are loyal to their queen and the queen's job is to lay all the eggs of the hive.
And this brings me to another point that I just want to make out of curiosity. Now that Chrysalis is no longer part of the changeling hive, how will the changelings, to put it in an appropriate way, "reproduce". It's not so sure if there are female changelings, besides Chrysalis, in the hive. But when the episode comes, I guess my answers will be revealed.
However it will be nice to see how the changeling kingdom has come in reforming their society and plus one point for Starlight in it! However not so much with Trixie…
Now, lastly, lets talk about, "It isn't the Mane Thing About You" and here's the summary:
"When Rarity's shampoo is accidentally switched with Zecora's magical remover potion, she does everything she can to fix her devastated mane in time for an upcoming photo shoot."
First off, looks like Fluttershy did manage to find the cure for Zecora!
And second off… How exactly did the shampoo and the potion get switched… Being that Rarity lives in Ponyville and Zecora's house is in the Everfree Forest. Maybe when Fluttershy went looking for that cure from earlier, she accidentally took something from Zecora's house and she accidentally dropped it off in Rarity's boutique in Ponville.
Or I could be completely wrong… Even still… It's a bit baffling…
That's all for now!
When we come back we'll talk about the last three episodes that are listed so far!
12. Mid-Season Promo!
Hey everypony!
Now yesterday, I wish I waited a few more hours because a few hours after I posted the last update, the first mid-season promo came out! And then today a second one came out!
Now, I'm only going to talk about the second one that came out today, since it has all the things from yesterday's promo and this one being longer with more stuff in it.
I also will not talk about the stuff that was shown from The Perfect Pear because we already seen that episode!
And now lets get on with the real point of this post!
Now to begin, I'm guessing that the stuff shown on the promo comes from "Fame and Misfortune", "Campfire Tales", and "Once Upon a Zeppelin". So we still don't know about the other episodes that are listed so far.
Now the first new thing we see is the Mane 6 standing around in a circle, singing a new song and I think this is from "Fame and Misfortune" after the ponies settle everything. Now what I really like is that this is quite similar to "All Bottled Up" when after the ponies complete the riddle, they sing a song, "Best Friends until the End of Time", which I really love.
And we see a similar thing in that after the ponies settle everything they break into a song again! And from the few lyrics sang, I can tell I'm going to really like this song, maybe even more than "Best Friends until the End of Time"!
Now the next thing we see is Twilight escaping from her fans as she moves a curtain across a window. I think this is from "Once Upon a Zeppelin". That's all I'm going to say on that because I'm going to talk about this episode in the next post!
Next, we see some Pinkie related stuff, first Rainbow Dash opening the friendship journal and out bursts some confetti and then we see Pinkie crashing into a galloping Twilight and ends with Pinkie pinning Twilight down. I think both of those moments are from "Fame and Misfortune" and it shows what Pinkie does to make her stories from the journal the best.
Next, we get a bunch of scenes that show ponies battling dragons, a volcano, and what looks like to be the sphinx from ancient Egypt! And then we get a shot of AJ, RD, and Rarity with the CMCs sitting around a campfire in a cave.
I think this all comes from "Campfire Tales" and the ponies battling against all those tougher opponents are the stories being told.
However… While reading up on the return of Season 7, there was one thing that caught my eye… "famous author A.K. Yearling teases a new novel".
What does that mean exactly? Well it means another Darling Do episode and the scenes I talked about that are from "Campfire Tales" might not all belong to that episode, but also to this Daring Do episode that is not listed yet. It could be the missing 17th episode or the 24th episode!
Next and last scene in the promo is Twilight talking to a couple of fillies and she quotes herself with a line she said from all the way back to the Season 2 Premiere… "friendship isn't always easy, but there's no doubt it's worth fighting for!"
Now this, I think, also is from "Fame and Misfortune" and I do really like that it brings back some of the very first things from the show!
Now… I would like to end this post on something else I seen that interested me from the same place I saw the Daring Do thing…
"Twilight Sparkle battles the Pony of Shadows"
What the b***… (Please excuse my language!)
Is this the finale? Or the missing 17th episode or 24th episode?
Now this certainly sounds like a finale, but at the same time I'm really hoping that the finale is Queen Chrysalis' revenge against Starlight Glimmer. Now it looks like that's not the case…
However… I will talk more about the finale later in a future post!
That sure was a lot to think about!
Now I would like to see what you guys are thinking! Make sure to leave your thoughts down below in the reviews!
13. Episodes 21,22,23!
Hey everypony!
We're back and here to talk about the last three episodes that are listed so far!
And thank you to bluecatcinema for providing most of the comments!
Okay, first off, with "Once Upon a Zeppelin" and here's the summary:
"Twilight is torn when she discovers the cruise she and her family are on is a themed vacation experience in which ponies have paid for the privilege of spending time with her, and she must please both her family and the cruise attendees."
Now this episode is the most exciting for me, because it finally brings something I have always been looking froward to! Twilight actually interacting with her parents!
Now, throughout all of the show, we have seen the Mane 6, except Twilight, having a lot of interaction with their parents, even recently we had episodes dedicated to the Mane 6's relationship with their parents in the form of "Parental Glideance" and "The Perfect Pear".
Heck even Rarity had more interaction with her parents than Twilight did with her's and we only seen Rarity's parents once! (In the "Sisterhooves Social")
Now, we know who Twilight's parents are, we have seen them plenty of times and we first got to hear them speak in the Season 6 premiere. But we have so far never seen Twilight actually talking with her parents, so this is a big thing!
Oh and hopefully Shining Armor is there too so we get to see more of the B.B.B.F.F. relationship!
Okay, with that done, lets get to the next one, "Marks and Recreation" and here's the summary:
"Wanting to help as many blank flanks as possible, the CMCs start a Cutie Mark Day Camp, but are surprised when one of their campers doesn't want a cutie mark."
Now this is also exciting, because of the CMCs having to solve yet another major problem and this one is probably going to prove very challenging!
Now this makes me wonder… Can there be such a thing as a pony without a cutie mark?
So far we have never seen a cutie markless pony in the show so far, (and no, magically removing it does not count!) however there's always a first time and for the first time in the show we can see a pony never having a cutie mark in his or her life!
But we'll see what happens when it happens…
And lastly, "Secrets and Pies" and here's the summary:
"When Pinkie Pie thinks she sees Rainbow Dash throw away one of her pies, she suspects the worst - that Rainbow Dash secretly hates her pies; Pinkie Pie attempts to catch Rainbow Dash in her web of lies."
Now first off, this brings me back all the way to Season 1, in the episode, "Party of One", when Pinkie's friends keep her birthday party a secret, but Pinkie thinks her friends are secretly trying to get rid of her.
This episode is actually quite similar in the idea. And we're probably going to see a new version of the sad and depressed Pinkie or even a new version of an angry Pinkie. There's not much I can say on this, so I'll leave it to you guys to think of more!
Well that's it for all of the episodes listed so far!
When we come back we're talk about the finale thoughts and what we can possibly expect from it!
Or if the missing 17th and 24th episode come up we'll talk about that first!
14. Episodes 18,24, and Finale!
Hey everypony!
Man, news for Season 7 is coming out faster than I can keep up with! Because this morning I checked the wikia site… To see that finally all the rest of the episodes for Season 7 have been revealed, including the finale!
So lets take a look at them!
First, lets start off with "Daring Done" (Which is now the 18th episode, the 17th one being, "To Change a Changeling") and here's the three summaries for it:
From Discovery Family:
"...famous author A.K. Yearling teases a new novel…"
From Screener:
"When Rainbow Dash's favorite author, A.K. Yearling, announces her retirement, Dash convinces Pinkie Pie to go on a quest to find out if the book on Daring Do really will be closed forever."
From TV Passport:
"Rainbow Dash's favorite author announces her retirement. Dash convinces Pinkie Pie to find out if the book on Daring Do will be closed forever."
Wait what! So this may be the very last Daring Do episode we'll ever see!
Or you know… Daring Do, aka, A.K. Yearling might just be playing a joke for once… Or… Maybe she just wants to surprise her fans by saying its the last book, but really, it's not…
And RD sending Pinkie Pie… Well… Looks like Pinkie will go on an actual Daring Do adventure… And maybe we'll see Pinkie helping Daring Do in the end and just like how RD was a character in one of Daring Do's books, Pinkie will be one too!
Now for the next episode, "Uncommon Bond", we only have the title for it (same goes for the finale) so we can only guess what it's going to be about.
This actually sounds like it's going to have a similar idea to what the Season 6 finale was, but on a lesser scale. And I feel like the expression, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" will play a big part in this episode.
And now we come to the big thing… The finale…
And here it is… The title of the finale is "Shadow Play". (Parts 1 and 2, of course!)
Now remember when I mentioned earlier when I read about the return of Season 7…
"Twilight Sparkle battles the Pony of Shadows"
This is the finale! It has to be!
However…
I'm very disappointed… As you all must know by now… I was 100 percent sure that the finale will be Queen Chrysalis' revenge against Starlight Glimmer and I'm sure most of you were hoping for that too.
But looking at this… It isn't going to be the case…
Now, I'm not so sure I will like this finale, but we only have the title of it so far, so I will not judge harshly as of yet. The reason I will probably not like it as much is because all of the finales, except for Season 6, focused mainly on Twilight.
And that's why the Season 6 finale is probably my most favorite finale, it's because for the first time the finale didn't focus on Twilight, instead it focused on a unlikely band of heroes, when Equestria had to depend on them and for once not on the princesses or the Mane 6 to save the day.
Again, I will save my final judgment about this until the episodes actually come out. And maybe I actually will like the finale and hopefully Starlight Glimmer does play a part in the finale still!
Well that's it…
I guess next part we'll talk about the "Uncommon Bond" episode and the finale when the summaries do come out, so see you than!
15. Possible Troll?
Hey everypony!
We're still waiting for the return of Season 7… Which is on the 5th, but since the episodes on that day are "Discordant Harmony" and "The Perfect Pear", the season really returns a week later, on the 12th…
But I found a bit of news that I found really interesting and wanted to share my thoughts on, because it's important for Season 7.
So, if you have a Netflix account, you would know that MLP: FiM is in fact there, Seasons 1 to 6 so far on that.
However… as stated officially by Hasbro through Equestria Daily: "Hasbro can confirm that My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is not switching to Netflix for Season 7."
However today… while looking at what's coming to Netflix this month, August, I found a bit of a difference…
That MLP: FiM Season 7 episodes 1-13 are in fact coming to Netflix on the 8th…
What's going on? Was Hasbro trolling us? Or they just changed their decision? Or maybe Season 7 is still not coming to Netflix?
I guess we have to wait until the 8th to find out…
And that's it!
What do you guys think of this?
Are the ponies still going to continue on Netflix or not?
16. Episode 14: Fame and Misfortune
Hey everypony!
The return of season 7 has finally come and boy was it a great one!
Now I didn't offer my afterthoughts for the first half of the season, but I thought I might as well do it for the second half!
And because I got a lot of things wrong about "Fame and Misfortune"!
Now, "Fame and Misfortune" was a very great episode in my opinion and made a strong return for season 7. However while it was great and all, I turned out to be very wrong when I wrote my thoughts on what the episode will be about.
It actually turns out that everypony else argues with each other, not the Mane 6, instead they are the victims of all the arguments that are erupting all over Equestria. And I was very surprised by this, I really did expect the Mane 6 to be arguing with each other and part of me wishes that that did happen.
I also was very surprised at the big role that Starlight played in this episode, because she wasn't present when the Mane 6 were writing the journal and had nothing to do with it whatsoever. And I did love how Starlight solved the problem in the end, really shows how far she has come. And as everypony should know, Starlight is my number #1 reformed villain and is on my list of top favorite ponies, so having her play a big role is great!
And when Apple Bloom mentioned that the CMCs were going to start a cutie mark camp, well we know that the episode, "Marks and Recreation", is going to be about that, so it's quite interesting and very unexpected to see how the friendship journal inspired the CMCs to set up the camp.
Also, when I mentioned that the scene where Twilight pulls the curtains over the window, is actually part of this episode as well, not "Once Upon a Zeppelin".
I also did enjoy the song that was sung by the Mane 6, but "You're in my Head like a Catchy Song" is probably still the number #1 song for this season, but this song was still very good. It's probably a tie with "Best Friends Until the End of Time", mostly because the two songs are kinda of similar. And the song did have some shipping vibes going on as well…
Lastly, I would actually like to talk about the promo that also came out for the next episode, "Triple Threat", when Spike accidentally invites Ember and Thorax to Ponyville on the same day. It looks like my hunch about the dragons and changelings being once enemies and Ember and Thorax continuing that tradition is true as Thorax is seen changing into a bear (Which I had a "What the b***!" moment) and charging at Ember, while she does the same while Spike watches helplessly.
Well I think that's it!
What do you ponies think of this episode?
17. Episode 15: Triple Threat
Hey everypony!
Time for the next afterthoughts on the "Triple Threat"!
Okay, first of all, I loved this episode very much, much better than I thought! I found it very funny and also very interesting as well.
It's really nice to see Ember again and Thorax as well, and this episode really showed more of their personality and character. It was really funny how Ember thought that Starlight was Twilight, but also why would Ember think Starlight is Twilight, because Ember saw Twilight before… So… what's up with that? Still now that I think about it… Starlight and Twilight do look and act a little similar…
I also found it interesting how Thorax finally got upset over something, but it's not the reason I thought originally… In fact my hunch about the changelings and dragons being enemies is wrong! Well maybe partly because there is Spike's thoughts on what could happen.
And I do feel bad for Thorax having a hard time as the new changeling leader, he must be really stressed and tired. However, while he finally gets to talk with Spike, Thorax talks about his brother, which is probably another reason for "To Change a Changeling", just like how "Fame and Misfortune" had a reason for "Marks and Recreation".
And I do find it cute that Ember and Thorax are friends now and I really liked how they helped each other with their problems. Also… Shipping is kinda of real between those two… Especially at the end when they were in front of the town hall, it was like Spike was the officiant.
And last but not least for the episode, I was totally surprised and shocked about Spike now being part of the map table! First Starlight and now Spike! Who's next!? And the friendship problem was Ember and Thorax! That just made it a lot more exciting!
Okay, to end on this, a quick talk about the promo for the next episode, "Campfire Tales". We have a new look at the episode and it's the disaster that happens that causes the group to go into the cave, probably should have stocked up on bug repellent! But it was also really interesting to find out that Scootaloo is still afraid of caves, which makes me wonder if she may get over that fear in this episode… Guess we have to wait to find out!
And I'll see everypony in the next afterthoughts for "Campfire Tales"!
18. Episode 16: Campfire Tales
Hey everypony!
Time for the "Campfire Tales" afterthoughts!
Now is it just me or are these episodes getting better and better? Because they are! I thought I wouldn't like this episode that much, but in fact I really love it!
The thing I loved most of all is that the tales take place in all different sorts of cultures and fantasy settings. In fact I predict there's going to be a lot of new fics that tell more of those stories… There's a Vikings, ancient Chinese, and a Medieval setting.
Now for the Viking setting, it was okay, it's probably my least favorite tale of the three told. However the tale did remind me of that scene from "Avatar: The Last Airbender", with Rockhoof digging that ditch to divert the lava from the volcano, similar to how Avatar Roku battled that volcano on his home island.
Now for the ancient Chinese setting, it's definitely my most favorite tale of the three! It's a perfect lesson on why beauty does not equal power, only wanting beauty gets you nowhere, and there's beauty everywhere. However I wish there was a way Mistmane could both bring beauty and keep her own in the end. And that tale also kinda of reminds me of Starlight and Sunburst.
Now for the Medieval setting, which is my second favorite, really reminds me of that classic knight vs. dragon fight, with Flash Magnus being the heroic knight. And for once, Rainbow Dash doesn't keep telling stories of how awesome she is! Looks like she got enough of that from "Fame and Misfortune"!
And I also really liked how Scootaloo is, sorry, was scared of caves still. But as I predicted, she got over that fear, hopefully and now I hope that next camping trip she goes on, maybe she wouldn't be afraid of caves.
Now, unfortunately I didn't see a promo for the next episode, "To Change a Changeling", so we can't talk about that. But if it does come out later, I'll be sure to cover it!
And I'll see everypony in the next afterthoughts!
19. To Change a Changeling Promo!
Hey everypony!
So the promo for the next episode, "To Change a Changeling" came out!
Now I would like to offer some quick thoughts on the episode!
First off, I really like how different the changeling kingdom looks, certainly a lot nicer than what we saw in the season 6 finale. The changelings are really doing a great job in reforming themselves and that we get to see how different it is.
Second, about Pharynx, well we clearly can see who he is… Obviously he's that changeling thats scared off everyone and tearing the flowers up. Oh and did I mention that he's still mostly black, like as in the changelings from before the season 6 finale…
And about that… So, did changelings have different kinds of colors, because I thought they were mostly black. Pharynx has some red and dark blue on him. However, maybe he was partially affected when the changelings reformed themselves. I guess we'll get those answers when we see the episode!
And lastly, it's very good to again see more Thorax and Starlight! Trixie… Not as much… But it was quite funny to see her get scared of Pharynx and I thought she got over her fears in the season 6 finale!
Well I think that's it. If any other pony saw something in the promo that I didn't, point it out!
20. Episode 17: To Change a Changeling
Hey everypony!
Another episode aired, so that means it's time for my afterthoughts!
Lets dive into it!
Okay, now I really did like "To Change a Changeling", I thought it really provided a very good look on a location that's not Ponyville and it surprised me as well!
Before the episode, I thought Starlight was called by the map table to the Changeling Kingdom and that she just took Trixie along with her. Turns out the two just went on their own free will, which is really nice of them! Although their welcome wasn't all too good…
And that brings me to Pharynx… Boy did I really like his character, it was interesting to see how he still wants to hang on to the old ways, even thought everyone else has transformed and reformed their society. But I especially loved the relationship he shares with Thorax, his brother, loving him, but at the same time not listening to Thorax.
I guess that's the reason why Pharynx decides to stay with the Changelings rather than go with Chrysalis, after all what was stopping him from joining Chrysalis when she escaped? And it was especially interesting to see how Pharynx had to admit openly that he loved the hive in order to transform, unlike how the rest of the Changelings transformed.
I really do hope that Pharynx makes more appearances in the future when there are episodes that feature the Changelings. Maybe he'll even be a major character when the premiere or finale of Chrysalis' revenge against Starlight comes! I really hope so!
However I will say that I wish there were some things that were added to the episode… I like the flashback, I thought Thorax was especially very cute at such a young age! I was actually hoping for one, but I do wish that Chrysalis was also part of the flashback, to show how both Thorax and Pharynx reacts to their queen.
I also wonder how different the episode would have been if the map table did in fact call Starlight to the Changeling Kingdom or if Twilight instead of Trixie came, maybe the episode would have been better… Or worse… I don't know… What do you ponies think? But Twilight must be pretty jealous that Starlight took Trixie instead of her to the Changeling Kingdom, just like in the Season 6 finale, LOL!
And last, but not least, a quick word on the promo for the next episode, "Daring Done". Well as the summary already stated, that A.K. Yearling, aka, Daring Do, is announcing her retirement with her last book. And the promo does show that Rainbow Dash and Pinkie go on an adventure with Daring Do. Maybe it's the simple fact that Daring Do has no more enemies and treasures to protect for her after this adventure is done, so there's no more reason to write anymore books. Or maybe not… with Pinkie's logic, she can find out about anything!
So what do you ponies think of that? Will this in fact be the last ever Daring Do episode? Or will Daring Do still go on more adventures and with it more books!?
And I'll see you when I do the afterthoughts on that episode!
21. Episode 18: Daring Done?
Hey everypony!
The next episode, Daring Done, which is supposed to come out in a week came out today! So it's time for the afterthoughts!
Okay, first of all… This episode… was AWESOME! Probably the best Daring Do episode so far! There are literally no negatives in it!
I loved how the setting was mostly an ancient Egyptian one, really helps to show different cultures just like how "Campfire Tales" did and it did it extremely well!
And I also loved how they really put more into Daring Do's character, I saw a new side of her I didn't see before and I loved how Rainbow Dash didn't give up on her, even thought Daring Do was so close to closing her adventures and books forever!
Now… I would like to mention the tale of Somnambula and how amazing that was. I really liked how Somnambula despite being such a rich upper class pony gave away some of her riches to pay for somepony's loaf of bread and that action inspired the son of the pharaoh, Prince Hisan, to stand up to the evil sphinx who was terrorizing everypony.
And when the story actually became a reality, I was like… "Things just got 20% cooler!"
And the way Somnambula stood up to the Sphinx and managed to get past his riddle and challenge… Just perfect!
Although I will say that I wish the story ended on the fact that Prince Hisan and Somnambula got married after that, that would have made it more perfect!
And that old pony who was telling the tale looks quite similar to Grand Pear... Relative maybe?
And I will say one last thing, and that is that I seriously couldn't believe that both Daring Do and Rainbow Dash couldn't tell that the cloaked figure was Dr. Caballeron! I knew it was him when I first heard his voice! Come on Daring Do and Rainbow Dash!
Well that's it for that!
What did you ponies think of this awesome episode!
But this does mean that now we have to wait two weeks for the next episode… Not that I'm really complaining!
22. New Episodes 19 and 21 Reveal!
Hey everypony!
Some exciting new stuff came out for MLP in general, from HASCON, including Equestria Girls, Season 7, and Season 8!
Here, we're going to talk about the Season 7 reveal.
Okay we got two three minute reveals for two episodes, "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You" and "Marks and Recreation".
For "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You", my initial thought about this episode was that it will be one of the lackluster ones, but seeing the reveal, when maybe not, at least it will be better than what I initially thought the episode will be.
So from what I can tell, apparently Rarity gets her mane messed up because of Pinkie (Read on and you will see why) and she and Pinkie go to Zecora for the remedy, which I'm glad we get to see Zecora again. With both Rarity and Pinkie having problems, Zecora gives them the remedies they need, only for them to be mixed up and the two get the wrong remedy… And so it happens… Well… both Rarity and Pinkie's problems are still not solved…
Oh and before we get on to "Marks and Recreation"… Can somepony tell me exactly what laws of physics Pinkie follows? LOL!
Okay, for the next reveal, from "Marks and Recreation", there' not much to say, because most of the clip is the song from the episode and well… That's exactly what I want to talk about…
I kinda of don't like how there's a song in this episode…
I read that there's only five songs in Season 7 and well, this song marks the fifth one for the season, which means the rest of the episodes after this one is going to be without any songs. And that's sad because I was hoping that the finale will have the last song, but apparently not…
But in the song it seems that the Cutie Mark Crusaders are having a bit of trouble with the colt who doesn't want a cutie mark… For he's convincing everypony else that being cutie markless is better… Which makes me wonder if this particular colt is going to have one at the end of the episode…
Last thing I will say… How exactly are the Cutie Mark Crusaders affording and running a camp? Where did they get all the funds to do so…
Well that's it for the new season 7 stuff!
What do you ponies think of this reveal?
23. E 19: It Isn't the Mane Thing About You
Hey everypony!
Time to talk about this week's episode as always, "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You" and the next episode's promo!
Okay, first off, this episode was actually better than I thought it would be, still not on par with The Perfect Pear and A Royal Problem, but I can watch this episode again if I wanted to.
Speaking of which, I really liked at the very beginning how it shows the Ponyville market and Grand Pear and Granny Smith can be seen together in Grand Pear's pear stand. And Apple Bloom can be seen talking to Burnt Oak, probably asking for more stories.
But I also liked how at the beginning Rarity does show her generous side, but at the same time asking for what she needs for her photo shoot. Kill two birds with one stone!
And I liked how Zecora finally showed up, it's been a long time since we seen her and that she played such a major role in this episode as she should.
Anyway… Returning to Rarity… What's with her and her faces this season? First in "Fame and Misfortune" and now in this episode! Geez!
And when Rarity finally fixed her problem, with her mane… Why does it seem like her new style was Rara inspired? Seeing that just made me go… "OMC, I want more Rara now!"
Oh and one last thing about this episode…
I was heavily surprised by both Twilight and Starlight's role in this episode and anytime when Starlight plays a role is a win for me!
Now, lets end off with the promo for the next episode, "A Health of Information"! I love that it's a Fluttershy episode! That's definitely a win for me! And Zecora getting this "swamp fever", well… I'm not surprised… She has been living in the Everfree Forest all her life, well since we seen her anyway. Eventually some kind of sickness is going to hit her. And it also seemed like Twilight will play a big part in this episode as well, which may mean that Starlight will also probably be in this episode! Yay!
Anyway, that's it for the aftethoughts on this week's episode and the promo!
Next time of course we'll do the afterthoughts for "A Health of Information" and the promo for the episode after that!
(P.S. Had to shorten the title because the episode title was too long to fit in!)
24. Episode 24 Summary!
Hey everypony!
Great news came out this morning as the summary for the 24th episode came out!
And well… Just read below!
So it goes like this…
"When Starlight gets a visit from Sunburst, she discovers that he has tons in common with her friends and starts to wonder if he still has anything in common with her."
OMC… Is this the Starburst episode I have been waiting for? Because I think it is! I'm so nervicited!
And it's so good to finally have an episode that focuses on the two, something I have been wishing and waiting for since the Season 6 premiere! I pray to Celestia that this is so!
Well I think that's it, it's basically self explanatory!
What does everypony think of this surprising piece of news?
25. Finale Summary!
Hey everypony!
Great news came yet again for Season 7 as the summary for the finale has come out!
So, as always, here to talk about the thoughts for it!
So, for Shadow Play Part 1…
"When Sunburst discovers the lost journal of Starswirl the Bearded, Twilight becomes obsessed with saving her magical idol from a thousand-year-old prison."
And for Shadow Play Part 2…
"With Starswirl and the other Pillars of Old Equestria back from limbo (where they've been trapped for a thousand years), Twilight and her friends must work together to defeat the Pony of Shadows."
Wow… You know… I did say I probably will not like this season finale as much as the others. But after reading this… I have to say that I probably will like it very much!
First off… Does this mean that Starswirl the Bearded is actually still alive and in some kind of deep sleep? And if so… Why? And exactly how? This is extremely baffling!
And I like how Sunburst is mentioned in Part 1, from the summary, it looks like he plays a major role, or at least is the reason why this finale happens. And the summary for "Uncommon Bond" has Sunburst visiting Ponyville, so maybe he's still in Ponyville when the finale happens. So I guess if that's true, than "Uncommon Bond" does serve as like a prequel to the finale in some way.
And in Part 2, it does mention that Twilight goes with her friends to defeat this Pony of Shadows, so hopefully this does include Starlight and in the end, I hope Starlight does play a major part in helping Twilight in the end.
And lastly, I have to say that this sounds like a real challenge for Twilight, never has she done anything like this. I mean she has restored the tree of harmony, reformed Starlight, etc… But never has Twilight actually saved somepony from a thousand year prison!
I think that's it…
As always, everypony leave their thoughts on this down below in the reviews!
26. Chapter 26: A Health of Information
Hey everypony!
Another episode passed, which you know what that means!
Okay, so "A Health of Information", my thoughts…
Better than I thought it would be! In fact, this might be one of my most favorite Fluttershy episodes!
First off, I have to talk about Fluttershy! Throughout the episode I was like… "Fluttershy, at least stop for a few minutes to take a breather!" First it was panicking that she has to find a cure for Zecora, then it's lack of sleep looking through all those books in Twilight's library, and then Fluttershy gets the swamp fever! At that point, I just really wanted to jump into the episode and nurse my favorite pegasus back to health myself!
Although I will say that I wish Fluttershy's sickness got to the point where she had the tree branches sticking out from her, like Zecora and Dr. Horse had, so that Fluttertree will become really canon! LOL!
Second, a less important note… Twilight and Spike having a cook off?
Why? Did those two have like an argument over who can cook better? And what about Starlight? Where was she?
And speaking of Starlight… Mage Meadowbrook… Now where did I hear that before? Oh yes… The Season 5 premiere! Considering that Meadowbrook is a healer and has disappeared mystically… How does Starlight know about her? And what does controlling a whole town of ponies have to do with healing? I'm so baffled…
Well I think that's it for me.
As always, what do you ponies think?
27. Episode 21 and HASCON Promo!
Hey everypony!
This is coming out extremely late, but you know what they say, better late than never!
Now, lets talk about the Promo for "Marks and Recreation" and also a promo that came out for Season 7 from HASCON.
Now, for the "Marks and Recreation" promo, it's not surprising as it's about this colt not wanting his cutie mark and the Cutie Mark Crusaders being all surprised about it.
However, the crusaders do find out about it, from what it seems, after another Wonderbolt event in Ponyville, as we can see the same stands from "Newbie Dash" and some of the Wonderbolts flying about. So I'm guessing that the colt who doesn't want a cutie mark seems a bit downbeat and the crusaders go to him to find out the problem after the Wonderbolt show.
Okay, now on to the next promo from HASCON.
Now, it already has stuff from "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You" and "A Health of Information", so of course we're not going to talk about that.
However, we now have out first glimpses of "Once Upon a Zeppelin" and from what I can tell, "Secrets and Pies".
Now, from "Once Upon a Zeppelin", we can clearly see the airship that Twilight and her family are on, flying through the clouds and then a huge fan of Twilight shouting that she loves the princess from outside, with the fan's face pressed against the window and Twilight closing the curtains.
Now I do like this because it shows what Twilight has to go through with all her fans, but still not seeing any interaction with her parents, much less with her other family members, but I guess than it would be too revealing!
And for the next new part, which I'm guessing is from "Secrets and Pies", we have AJ, carrying a bucket of apples and falling to Pinkie's party planning lair. And then RD in her Wonderbolt outfit and finally Pinkie, standing in the middle of the Wonderbolt runaway and getting in the way of a Wonderbolt coming in, probably RD was telling Pinkie about how the Wonderbolts make a big entrance and Pinkie didn't believe her.
Well that's it for now!
Next time we'll cover the afterthoughts for "Marks and Recreation"!
28. Episode 21: Marks and Recreation
Hey everypony!
Time to say my afterthoughts on "Marks and Recreation" and also the promo for "Once Upon a Zeppelin"!
Okay, so "Marks and Recreation"… I'm actually not so sure about this episode and whether I like it or not… I'm very conflicted by it.
Quite simply, this episode is basically the Season 6 premiere and finale put together in that Rumble is the colt version of Starlight and Thunderlane is basically Twilight and the CMCs are the rest of the Mane 6…
In fact, I was really hoping that maybe Starlight might appear and maybe play a part in explaining to Rumble about cutie marks. But at the same time, I'm also thankful that it was only a CMC focused episode and didn't focus on the Mane 6 and Starlight.
And I would like to say that I rather enjoyed that the crusaders set up their camp at Camp Friendship, the place where AJ and Rara became friends, but I had no idea that the camp was right next to Ponyville… I thought it wasn't… Oh well… Oh speaking of Rara… WHERE IS SHE!?
Oh and what's with the circle filly? She loves drawing circles and yet… She gets a cutie mark in haiku… What…
One last thing I would very much love to mention about the episode… Sweetie Belle… Nice job staying calm… You really nailed it… LOL! :)
Okay, promo time!
The promo for "Once Upon a Zeppelin" is very good and explains so much more about the next episode.
It's not only the original Sparkle family, meaning Twilight and Shining Armor and their parents, but also Cadance and Flurry Heart! Yay! I get to see the adorable little alicorn again! Someone pinch me if I'm dreaming!
And also the part where Twilight and her parents are actually speaking to each other when Twilight's mom, Twilight Velvet, explains that her and Twilight's dad got the free vacation out of the blue. And then Twilight says back that she's confused as to her parents not knowing who offered them the trip. So yeah… Our first actual exchange of conversation between Twilight and her parents! Boy am I excited to see what more conversation they have!
Well that's it!
Next time we come back we're going to of course talk about the afterthoughts for "Once Upon a Zeppelin", which I'm really excited for and the promo for "Secrets and Pies"!
29. Episode 22: Once Upon a Zeppelin
Hey everypony!
Sorry that the afterthoughts for "Once Upon a Zeppelin" took so long, I had midterms this week and just finished them today! But thankfully it's still before the next episode!
Speaking of season 7… The rest of the season has leaked out and the episodes "Secrets and Pies", "Uncommon Bond" and "Shadow Play Part 1 and 2" are out there and can be watched. And I did so myself… I couldn't help myself, if it's out there to see, then I'm going to watch it!
Now, I'm not going to do the afterthoughts for those episodes until after they officially air because some of you probably want to wait until it does release officially. (Even thought part of me wants to get those done because "Uncommon Bond" and the finale were so good!)
Okay, so "Once Upon a Zeppelin", I got to say that I really enjoyed this episode very much!
It's finally great to see the interaction between Twilight and her parents and we got a whole lot of that in the episode which I'm very happy about. And not only that but we get to see a whole new side of Twilight's parents' personalities as well. In fact I have to say that Twilight's parents win the number one parents of the season. Bright Mac and Pear Butter certainly win the most romantic couple and Bow Hothoof and Windy Shistles certainly win the most dedicated and supportive parents, but honestly, Twilight Velvet and Night Light win the best overall parents in the season.
We get to know that Velvet is fond of crazy dare deviling behavior and Night Light likes bingo, who would have known? But they also display a very caring side for their children, for example as Night Light does call Twilight sweetheart and such and Velvet did take Shining Armor to his room when he became too airsick…
Speaking of that… That was probably the most funniest moments in the episode for me, that Shining Armor got constantly airsick, especially at the end when he tried to deny it and almost threw up!
Oh and Flurry Heart being in the episode is certainly a winner for me!
And probably the most surprising thing about the episode for me and probably all of you is the return of Iron Will! Boy was I shocked! We have only seen him once before, in the Season 2 episode, "Putting Your Hoof Down" and we had no clue that he would make a return to the show. But man, I think it did make the episode better than I thought it would be and I liked the episode when the summary first came out already!
Speaking of return of things… In the beginning of the episode… "Princess Spike" much? LOL!
Well done!
Now I'm not going to do the promos for the rest of the episodes because I have already seen them and know what's going to happen! I hope everypony doesn't mind that I don't talk about the rest of the promos!
30. Episode 23: Secrets and Pies
Hey everypony!
Time for the afterthoughts of "Secrets and Pies"! Warning, I may get a little irritated…
Okay, so "Secrets and Pies"… This was one of those okay episodes, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as others. There's actually not much I can say about this episode as this one didn't excite me as much.
I will say that I found Pinkie's determination for Rainbow Dash to eat a pie is very extreme… Even for Pinkie! Heck when she was all sleep deprived, I was like… "Okay Pinkie… I think you got to stop…". But hey, Pinkie's Pinkie and I didn't expect anything different for her behavior.
Now, speaking of Rainbow Dash… Good job taking care of Tank, RD… Really nice job to give him a whole pie to eat when it will make him sick… You're a really good pet owner… Oh well… At least Tank looked happy when he did eat a whole pie!
And speaking of pie… (This is where I'm a bit irritated.)
RD doesn't like pie! What in the name of Celestia!? How can she not like pie!? Who doesn't like pie!?
Like if I don't have at least one slice of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, I go crazy! Seriously, what is there not to like about pie!?
Anyway… That concludes this very short afterthoughts for this episode, the next episode, "Uncommon Bond" will certainly have afterthoughts because it's about Starlight and Sunburst! (Yeah, I'm Starlight biased and shipper of Starburst, deal with it! (Puts on sunglasses and fold my arms))
31. Episode 24: Uncommon Bond
Hey guys!
Time for the afterthoughts on "Uncommon Bond"! I have been waiting for so long to do this one!
Now, if you don't know yet, I'm a huge fan of Starlight and shipper of Starburst, to have them both together is a recipe for success for me! And this episode certainly goes in my top spots of the season, right alongside with "The Perfect Pear" and "A Royal Problem"!
It was very great to see how Sunburst had much in common with Starlight's friends and how he got along with them. But I have to say that when I first read about what the episode was going to be on, I thought it would be with Sunburst and the Mane 6, of course there's Twilight, but instead of the rest of the Mane 6, we get Maud and Trixie. Which I'm not at all upset about, in fact it was rather surprising! But there were hints of shipping Sunburst with them… And I was like… "Don't you dare girls… Sunburst is Starlight's! Fiveever!"
Speaking of Sunburst, we get to learn a ton about him that we didn't know about before, such as that he's into antiquing and that he's not comfortable going about without wearing his cape. (By the way… I was like… "Sunburst… you're a pony… you don't naturally wear clothes!)
And when Sunburst spends his time with Twilight, Maud, and Trixie, we get some background music, which I liked and wished it would have turned into a song… Really feel like that was a missed opportunity…
Now I would like to mention several smaller things I noticed…
"This shop looked a lot smaller from the outside." -Starlight
Now when did we hear something like that before… Oh right the Season 6 premiere! And yet Starlight still thinks places she visits are smaller that she thinks… You would think she would have learned that lesson now…
Also Trixie… Still turning things into teacups… Did you not see how many teacups Spike had to wash in All Bottled Up!
And Starlight… I like how you showed your strength by getting an apple down the Apple family way… But you realize you're a unicorn right? You could have just brought down a single apple with your magic…
Oh and you realize this is the second time you damaged Twilight's castle right... First with making a wooden mane for Rarity out from one of the library doors and now you broke the floor of the library... Not to mention that Ember also literally ate from the crystal pillars of the dining room!
Now… I would like to mention one final thing and that is the very end of the episode… When Sunburst is done with his visit and is on his way back to the Crystal Empire…
If you remember when I posted what the finale, Shadow Play Part 1, will be about…
"When Sunburst discovers the lost journal of Starswirl the Bearded, Twilight becomes obsessed with saving her magical idol from a thousand-year-old prison."
One of the books from the mystery barrel that Sunburst got from the antique store is the lost journal of Starswirl!
But that's all I'm going to say on that because we have yet to see the finale! (Unless you already did, like me!)
Well that's it!
Of course next time is going to be the afterthoughts for the finale! And boy do I have a lot to say again about it!
32. Episode 25: Shadow Play Part 1
Hey everypony!
Time for the afterthoughts of the finale!
Now I'm only going to do part 1 and then I'll do part 2 at a later time.
In my opinion, I did like the finale, it was very good, but I will say that other finales were better, like Season 6 or 2, but this finale I will find myself watching over and over again from time to time.
My biggest surprise of the finale was that not only did Twilight bring back Starswirl the Bearded, but also Rockhoof, Mistmane, Flash Magnus, Somnambula, and Mage Meadowbrook! Those stallions and manes are actually real too!
So, Campfire Tales, Daring Done, and A Health of Information all contribute to the finale! This is not to mention that Uncommon Bond served as like a prequel to the finale, especially at the end when we find out that one of the objects in the mystery barrel that Sunburst got is in Starswirl's lost journal!
The last season that did this is Season 4, when the Mane 6 all receive certain objects which turned out to be the keys that contained what is now Twilight's castle. However, this season did that in a more subtle way, we had no idea certain episodes would play a part to the finale until the episode beforehand! Which I got to say is really genius on Hasbro's part!
Now onto the actual content of the episode… Well there's not much to say overall of the episode, it was really good and all don't get me wrong, but there's no major thing I can think of…
I will say that…
Sunburst is basically the stallion version of Twilight.
Looks like Petunia is really getting ahead of herself, she's really into advanced studies of archeology for still being a little filly.
And yay! More Daring Do!
Also Ponhenge… Stonehenge much?
Oh I will say this! For once evil has been unleashed in Equestria by the good guys, more specifically Twilight! Yeah, maybe bringing back your idol Twilight was not such a good idea… Should have listened to Starlight…
Well that pretty much wraps up my afterthoughts!
I'm sure you ponies can fill the many gaps I most likely left out!
33. Episode 26: Shadow Play Part 2
Hey everypony!
It's finally time for the last afterthoughts of Season 7!
But don't think this is the last post here… I still have a few more things planned for this… What is it? Everypony has to wait!
Again, like last time, I liked this episode as well, that's the simple statement. And like last time, there's nothing really major I can say, for this finale is what you would expect like most of the finales played out.
I will say this and that is that Starswirl the Bearded… No offense to everypony, but he was kinda of a meany…
Okay, sorry for the language, but he really was, such examples like saying that you can't befriend a villain or saving Equestria by a simple conversation really showed that he's not willing to try out new approaches other than banishing the Pony of Shadows.
But on the bright side, the elements in the form of the necklaces that the Mane 6 wear come back! And I thought that after Season 4, we would never see them again !
And also, we finally get voices for Rockhoof, Somnambula, and Mistmane after she gave away her physical beauty, not to mention Starswirl of course!
And of course I love the role Starlight plays, just like in Part 1, especially when she followed Twilight into the darkness of the Pony of Shadows and helped her out in convincing Stygian to abandon his dark ways.
And last thing I would like to mention is that… Wouldn't it be the funniest thing if Starswirl, after deciding to stay in Canterlot, makes Celestia and Luna write the essays they own him? LOL!
Well that's it for my afterthoughts!
Again, I'm sure you ponies can fill in the gaps I left!
34. Top 5 Favorite Episodes!
Hey everypony!
Now that Season 7 is done, I thought I would list my top 5 favorite episodes of the Season!
Now this isn't going to include the premiere, "Celestial Advice" and "All Bottled Up" and and the finale, "Shadow Play Part 1 and 2", because I liked them all and adding them will make it very difficult to pick, plus I would be very Starlight biased! (I'm already going to be a a bit biased in this listing…)
So here we go, starting with the number 1 place!
1. The Perfect Pear
Honestly, how can this not take my number one spot!? This episode was just too perfect, there were literally no flaws in this masterpiece! And this is probably the number one romantic episode so far in the show, Bright Mac and Pear Butter are just too perfect! And "You're In My Head Like a Catchy Song"… Just tears all throughout that! Certainly on par with other great MLP songs, like "The Magic Inside", "The Pony I Want to Be", and "You'll Play Your Part" and it's certainly on par with other great romantic songs, like "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding"
2. A Royal Problem
This episode was also very nicely done! We finally got a Celestia and Luna episode and we finally get to see how difficult their sister relationship is! We also get Starlight solving the problem between the two royal sisters and not only that, but it's her first time that the map is calling her and she is sent in alone! (Even thought Twilight kept bugging in!) The only reason why this takes my number two spot and not number one is that I think this episode could have had a flashback, like how "The Perfect Pear" had a bunch, a minute or two of showing Celestia and Luna as fillies and seeing how their relationship begun would have made the episode better.
3. Uncommon Bond
Finally the Starlight and Sunburst episode I was waiting for ever since the two got reunited from the Season 6 premiere! We get to see how the two's relationship is now a bit difficult like Celestia and Luna and how they solved that problem in the end. We also get to learn a lot about Sunburst and how he interacts with some of Starlight's other friends, Twilight, Trixie, and Maud. Overall, very good, but maybe lacking the fact that Sunburst doesn't connect with the Mane 6 other than Twilight.
4. Once Upon a Zeppelin
We finally get to have a major role for Twilight's parents and learn about them now and their relationship with their kids, Twilight and Shining Armor. We also learn something new about Shining Armor, that his kryptonite is that he's air sick! And more Flurry for me! But I loved how Twilight really struggled to make sure her family was happy, but also that everyone on the Zeppelin cruise was also happy, at the sacrifice of her own vacation. The reason why this is lower on my list is Iron Will… Now I did like his role and his return, but just like in his first appearance… Yeah not so likable, if only Fluttershy was also on the cruise, she could have driven off Iron Will like last time!
5. Daring Done?
Best Daring Do episode ever! And if the episodes on the rest of the list weren't in the season, this certainly would take my number one spot! It was just so interesting whether or not this would in fact be the last Daring Do episode ever, which lucky it's not. I loved how Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie kept encouraging Daring Do to keep fighting even thought everyone else was against the awesome adventurer. (Even thought part of Rainbow Dash's reason was for more Daring Do books to come out!) And the story with Somnambula was a masterpiece indeed! Made the episode 20% cooler!
Well that finishes my list of my top 5 episodes!
What are you ponies top 5 episodes of the season?
And next time I'm going to do my 5 least favorite episodes of the season!
35. Top 5 Least Favorite Episodes!
Hey everypony!
It's now time for my top 5 least favorite episodes!
And just like last time, this doesn't include the premiere and finale, but it wouldn't come up in this list even if I added them!
Also, just to make it clear, I never hated any episodes of this season and all the other seasons, it's just that some episodes just don't do it…
Anyway… Lets start off with the number one least favorite!
1. Not Asking for Trouble
This episode… Just no… Just… no… Enough said lets move on to the next one!
2. Discordant Harmony
Fluttercord… And Fluttershy being my number one waifu… I don't think I need to explain this one as well.
3. Honest Apple
While I do like that we get to see how brutal AJ's honesty can affect people… Could have been better.
4. It isn't the Mane Thing About You
You might be surprised at this one, because I did like how Starlight played a role in this one and that's why it isn't more towards the top of this list. But Rarity in her punk style… Reminds me of how much I want to see Rara again!
5. Secrets and Pies
Liked this episode, but mostly because of the fact that I was heavily surprised RD doesn't like pie! I mean come on!
Well that was quick!
Now it's time for you guys to list your top five least favorite episodes!
And next time will in fact be the very last post here! The finale overall review of the entire season!
