1. The Lock-in
It was pitch black outside. But everyone inside the school was buzzing with excitement. It was the Canterlot High school Lock-in.
Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna stood at the front door. "Attentions, students!"
Everyone stopped talking and turned toward the two sisters.
"Welcome to the Canterlot High Lock-in." Principal Celestia announced. We'll be playing a bunch of fun games, watching an awesome movie, and we'll be spending the whole night together!"
Everyone cheered.
"Just so you know," Vice Principal Luna started. "The doors will remain open until 7. After that, the doors will be locked. If you have any second thoughts, I suggest you make them quick."
Principal Celestia continued. "The games will go until 9. We'll be starting the movie at that time. Once the movie is over, it's lights out. Well, enough chit-chat. Let's get started!"
After that, the students wandered about the school, getting started on all the games.
Fluttershy looked up and down the halls. There were tables set up everywhere. The Student store had become a place to redeem prizes. She couldn't wait to get started. She looked in her backpack to see if Angel was alright. He wasn't there.
Fluttershy's eyes darted around to see where Angel may have gone. Finally, she saw him by the front door.
"Oh, Angel." Fluttershy picked him up and started petting him. "You know you not supposed to get out of the bag. You could get lost in here. You might be all alone with no food, no water, no friends...or no way out!"
Angel gave an indifferent expression to Fluttershy. Then, he was shoved back into the bag.
Sunset appeared behind the shy girl. "Are you coming? They have a station where you can Hula-hoop."
"Sure, sounds fun." Fluttershy followed Sunset, but then she noticed something weird outside. There was suddenly a small, red camera on the Wondercolt statue with green lens. She'd never seen it before.
"Fluttershy! C'mon!" Rainbow shouted.
"Oh, right!" Fluttershy ignored the camera and followed her friend.
The night was a blast. Fluttershy played a game called Bucket Head with Twilight. Twilight threw a ping-pong ball, and Fluttershy had to catch it in a bucket strapped to her head.
Then, she played a game of ladder ball against Applejack. She got her butt kicked.
Last, she lost to Pinkie Pie in a hula-hooping contest.
Then, everyone was gathered in the gym, with a big projection screen covering the whole stage. Everyone was sitting on the floor in their pajamas eating popcorn.
"I wonder what movie they're gonna show." Twilight said.
"I hope it's a scary movie!" Rainbow said with excitement.
"Ooh, good thing I brought an extra pair of jammies!" Pinkie pulled out another pair of pajama pants.
"This'll be my first movie." Sunset added. "We don't have these in Equestria."
"You don't?" Twilight said in astonishment
"That doesn't sound like much fun." Rarity groaned.
"What do you have?" Rainbow asked.
"Well, we use these things called Phonographs to play music-"
"Phonographs?" Rainbow graoned. "What time period are you from?"
"We haven't used those since...100 years ago."
Fluttershy wasn't listening. She kept fidgeting. "I need to use the bathroom."
"Be quick." Applejack told her. "The movie's gonna start soon."
Fluttershy turned on the sink and started washing her hands. The light suddenly flickered, and she stopped moving. The door to one of the stalls opened up. Fluttershy looked, and no one was inside.
Finally, she left for the gym. Then, she heard laughter coming out of nowhere. Fluttershy's eyes darted around to see if there was anything, but there wasn't a soul in sight.
Fluttershy's eyes still looked around the gym, but it was dead quiet. The movie had already started. She shivered as she sat back down.
"Are you okay?" Rainbow whispered.
"Um...uh...yeah. Everything's just peachy." Flutter answered.
Rainbow turned her attention back to the screen, and Flutter shook as she watched.
The Rainbooms settled in the band room, and set up their sleeping bags. Flutter was sitting criss cross on her bag, thinking about what just happened.
"Are you okay, Fluttershy?" Twilight asked.
"Huh? Oh, yes. I'm fine."
"Are you sure?" Sunset asked. "You didn't seem so fine during the movie."
"I'm alright."
"Is something on your mind?" Rainbow asked.
"No..."
"If you say so..." Applejack said. "If ya need anything, we're here for ya."
"Thanks."
"Good night, everyone." Sunset said.
"Good night." Everyone responded.
Sunset turned off the light, and everyone climbed into their sleeping bags. Fluttershy didn't. Where did that laughter come from? How could those doors open on their own?
Lightning flashed, and Fluttershy tried not to scream. She took a deep breath. "Everything's fine." Flutter kicked off her slippers, and climbed into her bag. The laughter could be heard again. A soft, green glow emitted from the door crack. Then it changed to red, then blue, then yellow.
Fluttershy's eyes darted around to see if there was anything. Then, her mind started to slow down, and she fell asleep.
2. Luigi
Lightning Struck. Fluttershy jolted awake. She hyperventilated for a second, then calmed down. Flutter could hear laughter again. She hid back in her bag, still shivering. The laughter stopped, and she calmed down.
Fluttershy grabbed her bag to see if Angel was okay, but Angel wasn't inside. She facepalmed. It was super hard to keep angel in there.
"Hey! Rainbow Dash!"
Rainbow didn't do anything. She just lied there, sleeping.
"Rainbow Dash!" Fluttershy tapped Rainbow on the shoulder. Then, a green ghost appeared where Rainbow once was, wearing a Rainbow wig. Fluttershy screamed. More ghosts rose up, all replacing her friends. They were all laughing at her.
Fluttershy got out of her sleeping bag and dashed out of the room, without even getting her slippers back on. She ran down the hall barefoot, and she encountered more ghosts. One blue, one green, one bulky red one. She ran in the other direction, but there were more. She ran down another hall, but she slipped and landed on her behind.
Fluttershy turned around. There was a green ghost following her. She was backed up against a wall. She let out a terrified scream. She closed her eyes, waiting for the worst to come.
Then, a flash was heard. The ghost had suddenly turned white. It was now trapped in some sort of vortex. A little man in green was behind it, and it was sucking it up into a vacuum.
The ghost flew around, trying to escape the vacuum. It dragged the little man around with it. It knocked over trash cans, wet floor signs and even tables. Finally, the ghost was sucked up inside of the vacuum, and the little man turned to Fluttershy. "Hello!"
"Um, hi?" Fluttershy shook his hand.
The little man looked around, and went down a hall. "This way!"
Fluttershy followed the little man. There weren't any more ghosts. He lead her to the front door, which was wide open. They made a dash for the door, but it suddenly closed. A purple gate slammed down in front of it, and laughter could be heard. A small white ghost appeared out of a trash can.
The little ghost stuck out its tongue. "Yay! I just got my Bootie Mark! Do you want to see it?"
Fluttershy ran around the room, screaming her head off. The little man kept his cool. He turned on a little flashlight, and started shining it around the room. The little ghost suddenly appeared, and Fluttershy calmed down.
The little man sucked up its tongue in the vacuum, and let go. The ghost bounced around the room, until it finally stopped by the front door. The man sucked up the ghost, and the gates disappeared. The man lead Fluttershy outside, and brought her to the camera.
A jingle was heard, and the man pulled a DS out of his pocket. "Yello?"
"Luigi! Did you find the Dark moon piece yet?" a man on the DS asked. Luigi shook his head no.
"Criminy! If it wasn't here, where could it be? What? You found a girl? Are you sure she's not a ghost? No? Well in that case, I'm bringing you both back. Hold still!"
The camera pointed at Luigi, and turned him into thousands of little cubes that were sucked into the camera. The camera then pointed at Fluttershy.
"Ah! No! No! No! No!" Fluttershy turned tail and ran, but the camera sucked her up.
Fluttershy was pieced back together in midair. She fell on her behind, and looked in the strange room she was in. A moment later, Luigi reappeared. The man on the DS was standing right in front of them.
"I'm glad you made it back safely, Luigi!" he said. "And you brought a girl here, too!"
"Um, where am I?" Fluttershy asked.
"Welcome to my bunker! My name is Professor E. Gadd. What's your's?"
Fluttershy shook his hand. "Um, I'm...Fluttershy."
"Fluttershy? Hm...a rather odd name. Anyhoo, I see you've met Luigi!"
"Um, yeah...why am I here?" Fluttershy asked.
"You recall you've been chased by some ghosts in your school, right?"
"Yes, it was..." Fluttershy shivered. "Terrifying!"
"Well, I can explain that simply." E. Gadd pulled up an image on a computer. "This is the Dark Moon. It's an ancient relic that hangs above Evershade Valley. The Dark Moon keeps the ghosts in the valley passive and friendly."
Fluttershy gave him a confused look.
"Oh, ho ho! Luigi gave me the exact same look! Anyway, Someone has shattered the Dark Moon. Not only that, the ghost have become aggressive and the whole valley has been enveloped in fog!"
"So, how can we solve this?"
"Well, I sent Luigi after some of the Dark Moon pieces, and we've recovered 5. But there's one left! We thought it might be at your school, but we were wrong." E. Gadd took a good long, look at Fluttershy. "Hey, o-ho-ho! What a grand opportunity this is!"
"What?"
"Now it the perfect time to test my all new invention! The twin Poltergusts!"
"The what?"
"The twin Poltergusts are two Poltergusts that can communicate with each other. They are even more powerful than the Poltergust 5000! However, I need two people to test it."
"You mean...me?"
"Yes! You and Luigi! If you help me out, you may even find your friends. Whaddya say?"
Fluttershy perked up. Her friends were gone, the people she cared most about. Now they were captured. She couldn't stand it. "I'll do it."
Luigi sighed.
"Great! I'll send you to the training area!" E. Gadd pulled a lever, and the platform she and Luigi were standing on went down.
