Chapter 9: The Return of Tantabus

Discord grew jealous of Cole, he would always be spending time with Fluttershy. Which meant less Tuesday tea with Fluttershy. Every time he went over to see her, she would say to him that it was a bad time. Finally he stopped going over to her house. He sat in his chaotic house, and was thinking about ways to get rid of him. He was thinking for hours, when an idea came to him. He snapped his fingers a tiny jar appeared with Luna's Tantabus in it. It was squirming around. He added a Possession spell to it. He would release it when Cole would walk past him on the pathway. Little did he know that everyone was going over to Fluttershy's house.

All of the Prince's were walking on their way to Fluttershy's cottage. Twilight had said good-bye to Sunset because she was ready to go back to the other world. Twilight had forgot to grab the treats so Lloyd went back with her to retrieve them. Discord had not realized he was too late. Twilight and Lloyd were walking up to the spot where Discord would use the Tantabus on them. He had not realized it was Twilight and Lloyd. He released it, and it oozed out and grew. It was too late for it was wrapping its self around Twilight. Twilight screamed in pain as it took hold of her. Her eyes became green with purple smoke flaring from them, there were tears running down from her eyes from pain. Smoke started to cover her. Lloyd rushed into help but it was too late, he was shoved back by a force. When the smoke disappeared Twilight no longer looked like herself. She was a dark purple, with long, sharp pointed wings. She was taller and had a Dark blue mane that flowed, Her teeth became pointed. She was no longer Twilight but a Nightmare Twilight. Lloyd screamed for help and ran towards Fluttershy's cottage. Discord came out from the shadows and looked at Twilight and realized he had got the wrong pony. He quickly teleported away not wanting to get in trouble. Nightmare Twilight teleported to the castle of the two sisters. There she began to scheme, it was the Tantabus using her body to plan its revenge.

"What can we do to help her?" Rarity said frantically.

"Let's send a note to the Princesses!" said Applejack.

"Spike send a message to Princess Celestia and Luna." Rarity asked.

Spike wrote a letter then sent it. Five minutes had passed since he sent the letter, finally they got a response.

Dear Spike,

I am sending Princess Luna to come help with the situation, the thing you described sounds like a enchanted version of the Tantabus. She is on her way to investigate.

After an hour of waiting Luna came in flying.

"I came as fast as I could!" Luna panted.

"Do you know where Twilight is?" Luna questioned.

"No, when I came back with help her, she was gone." Said Lloyd.

"I think I know where she might be." Luna explained.

"The Tantabus I created to punish myself, was made at the Castle of the Two Sisters. Every night, in my nightmares it would change me into Nightmare Moon. That's why Twilight looks like Nightmare moon..." Luna explained in regret.

"Come we must go to the Castle of the Two Sisters to help Twilight rid the Tantabus!" Luna announced.

They started to walk on the path to the castle. They reached the castle and could see lights shining through windows. The castle had been transformed.

"Starlight, Pinkie, Rainbow, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity. I need you to come with me to the library." Luna explained.

"You five distract Nightmare Twilight." Luna ordered.

Luna left with the six ponies. Lloyd and the others huddled together to discuss a plan.

"Ok who agrees Lloyd should do it!" Kai announced.

Quickly every pony raised their hoof. Before Lloyd could speak Kai spoke.

"Well Lloyd your girlfriend, your problem!" Kai said.

"But-!" Lloyd stammered.

"No butts, you are the green ninja you do it." Said Cole.

"Fine." Lloyd said in defeat.

He entered the castle and could see Nightmare Twilight redecorating the castle to its prehistoric self.

"Ah, Lloyd I knew you would come." Nightmare Twilight said with a laugh.

She turned around.

"I'm afraid that if you want Twilight, she can't hear you. I have taken control of her mind and body." Nightmare Twilight said with an evil laugh.

"How did you even get free!" Lloyd yelled.

"Your little friend Discord set me free, he tried to make me take over Cole but did not realize he had already passed." Nightmare Twilight laughed.

"Discord did this!" Lloyd yelled in anger.

"Yes, he did!" Nightmare Twilight fired a beam of magic at Lloyd and flew into the night sky. Lloyd chased her. The ninja were sitting on a hill far from the castle watching. They saw Nightmare Twilight fly up into the sky while firing beams of magic at Lloyd. They watched as they flew around hitting each other with great force. Firing beams, blocking them or dodging them. Finally Nightmare Twilight fires a beam, Lloyd counters it with another beam. He still wasn't good at keeping his magic strong, the beam of purple started to get closer. It hit him and he went flying. He fell in through the ceiling and laid on the floor. Nightmare Twilight flew in and reared as she stood over him.

"Fool! No pony can defeat me, I have taken over an alicorns body. I have the strength of Pegasus, Unicorn, and Earth pony!" Nightmare Twilight laughed in victory.

"Not so fast Tantabus!" Luna yelled.

The seven ponies came running in.

"Just because the tree of harmony has the elements for now doesn't mean we can't use the magic of friendship!" Luna yelled.

"Fools but your forgetting, I have Twilight which means you don't have the Element of Magic!" Nightmare Twilight laughed.

"You're wrong!" Starlight glimmer countered.

"I can replace it temporarily! We found a spell allowing me to!" Starlight explained. As she did so she and the others started to float and glow. They all came together and a giant rainbow appeared. It came crashing upon Nightmare Twilight. When the light show was over every pony looked for Twilight. She was laying on the floor, next to her the Tantabus was trying to escape. Starlight quickly trapped it in a jar, and gave it to Luna.

"Thank you Starlight" Luna said.

Starlight nodded. The six ponies went over to Twilight. She was just waking up.

"I couldn't stop it." she breathed.

"It took hold of me all I could do was watch!" She panted. She started to cry. She realized that she had been in battle with Lloyd. She stood up to see him getting up. They saw each other. They ran up to one another and kissed.

"I'm so sorry Lloyd I couldn't control it!" Twilight cried.

"It's ok I'm fine Twilight." Lloyd said as they hugged.

The Ninja were watching from afar. They had walked in while the elements were in use.

"Now how did the Tantabus get to you Twilight?" Luna questioned.

Lloyd was the one to answer.

"It was Discord, princess!" Lloyd said.

"Discord released the Tantabus?" Luna said in confusion.

Lloyd explained Discords plan, at least everything the Tantabus had told him.

"Discord will have to see to me and Celestia. Once again he has an error in the way of friendship. Luna flew back to Canterlot. The others walked back to Ponyville. Twilight was walking next to Lloyd, and Fluttershy next to Cole. When they arrived at the entrance of the Everfree Forest, they decided to have the party that they had missed. They all walked to Fluttershy's house while laughing at past stories.
