A Mother For Screwball

Chapter One:

"DADDY!"

Screwball excitedly called out as she ran to Discord, clutching herself against his tail.

Discord smiled warmly and picked the purple filly up.

"Hello my sweet what seems to be the problem?".

The draconequui asked, curious on what the filly was so excited about.

"Daddy when can we see mommy again?".

Screwball looked at Discord with her eyes filled with tears.

"I miss her...".

Discord tensed up and give her a worried look.

"Is that why you were acting so down lately?"

Screwball nodded in reply.

"Well Screwball I-".

He immediately closed his mouth. He was never good when it came to telling bad news. Unfortunately her mother Screwloose well let's just say that she wasn't coming back. Discord looked down at Screwball, he couldn't tell her. He didn't want to but he knew he would regret it if he didn't.

"Sweetheart well mommys not coming back''.

Discord smacked his forehead "Wow that was real settle Discord" Discord thought,a bit afraid to look at Screwball.

He hesitated but slowly looked down at his daughter for her reaction.

"W-what? so she's..." Screwball started to tremble, trying her best not to cry.

"I'm afraid so...''.

Discord gently hugged Screwball for comfort.

"But don't worry I'll found you a new one"

At this point Discord didn't care what he had to do if it was to keep Screwball smiling he was willing to do anything.

"But I don't want a new one I want MY mommy!".

Now Screwball was screaming, she didn't want it to believe it. There was no way that her mother would leave her and her father alone.

"Please tell me it's not true!".

Screawball desperately cried out, hugging Discord tightly. Discord snapped his finger, a tissue magical appeared onto his paw. "There there it's going to be alright".

Discord used the tissue to wipe her face.

"If you have a new mommy you'll have somepony to play with you everyday".

Discord smiled at Screwball, trying to cheer up her.

"And you'll won't have to worry about your mommy running off!".

Screwball rubbed her eyes and let out a shaky sigh.

"B-but what if I don't like her?".

Screwball asked,thinking about his offer since she was awfully alone sure she had her father but she wanted a mother who would love her and would play games with her. Sure her father could do that stuff but he would probably like to go see his other friends than deal with her.

"I-I guess...".

Scerwball said as she buried her face onto Discord's chest.

"Please don't leave me like mommy."

Discord frowned and lifted her chin.

"Screwball don't talk like that. I would never leave you".Screwball gave him a small nod and smiled.

"That's better. Now enough of this sad talk let's have some cotton candy!".

Discord carries Screwball and walks towards the door.

"And chocolate milk?".

Screwball asked excitably.

"You read my mind!". Discord said as they walk outside to enjoy their treats.

Chapter 2

Bedtime for Screwball

Discord yawned loudly as he picked up the sleepily filly and carried her into their house.

''Mommy stay..." Screwball mumbled in her sleep.

Discord sighed and opened the door to his bedroom. Screwball's eyes slightly opened before her eyes suddenly widen and shrieked when Discord was about to place her on his bed

"NOOO!" Screwball screamed as she jumped out of her father's grip.

"Screwball! What in Equestria has gotten into you?!" Discord yelled, shocked at the way she was acting.

Screwball looked at the bed, slightly trembling at the memories of her and her mother cuddling and playing on the bed.

"Mom used to sleep in that bed!" Screwball looked at Discord, her back pressed against the wall.

"I don't want touch that side! I don't want to lose her smell!" she cried out.

Screwball remembered her smelling like wild flowers. Oh how she wished she can jump on her side and sniff her sweet scent. But she knew if she did that she would lose a piece of he mother forever.

Discord looked at Screwball and sat next to her, looking the Screwloose's side of the bed. After he learned of her death her he made sure he would never get on her side. He would sometimes nuzzle her side, just to get a whiff of her smell for comfort.

"You're right Screwball" Discord said as he used his magic to lift the bedsheets and neatly fold them.

"But I'm sure your mother would like it if you still slept with your father" Discord huffed.

Screwball smiled warmly, hugging Discord tightly.

"Oh daddy you're so silly!" She giggled happily.

Discord smiled and looked at the bed with new sheets.

"Now that's out of the way let's sleep!" Discord said, throwing Screwball onto the bed before jumping in as well.

Screwball squealed happily as she buried herself under the covers.

"Daddy do you think mommy is watching us?" She asked, using his tummy as a pillow.

"I'm sure she is..." Discord said,drifting off to sleep.

Chapter 3

Hello new mommy?

Discord slowly opened his eyes, yawning loudly he looked at the lavender filly hugging his tail tightly. He magically got his way out of her grip and stretched.

"What a night.." A calendar magically popped, Discord sleepily looked at the date with a poorly drawn teacup.

"Well look at that it's Tuesday tea with Fluttershy." Disocrd smiled at the thought of him and the shy mare enjoying a nice cup of tea, sharing silly stores together.

A light bulb popped above his head as he slowly looked at Screwball, smiling happily.

"Fluttershy would make a great mother!" Discord chirped.

"She'll be a excellent mother." Discord said as he flew towards Screwball and began to nuzzle the sleeping filly, playfully licking her cheek.

Screwball giggled softly, slowly opening her eyes.

"Hi daddy are you leaving now.?" she said as she sat up, rubbing her eyes. Screwball knew that tuesdays were the day he and a mare would have tea together. She didn't know who the mare was but she was happy if her dad was happy.

"Well my dear I was thinking you could come with me to see if you like to meet your new mommy." Discord said cheerfully, placing Screwball on her chair in the kitchen

"Really?!" Screwball squealed, bouncing on her chair excitedly.

Discord placed a plate of pancakes in front of screwball.

"What's my new mommy like?" Screwball asked, taking a bite out of her pancakes.

"Well she's a animal lover and very shy but she's a nice pony once you get to know her." Discord said smiling at the thought of all of them together.

"Done!" Screwball said jumping off her chair.

"Don't forget your plate missy." Discord said as he opened the door.

"Oops! Sorry daddy!" Screwball quickly grabbed her plate and began eating it on her way out.

As they made it to Fluttershy's cottage Screwball couldn't help but squeal the entire way. Even if it took a few seconds to get there it felt like entirety. A part of her felt bad. Was her mom mad at her for getting a new mom?. She shook her head, not wanting to worry her father.

Fluttershy opened the door and greeted Discord.

"Hello Discord it's nice to see you- Oh!" Fluttershy looked down at Screwball.

"Well h-hello it's nice to meet you" She said shyly.

Discord smiled warmly as he pushed Screwball towards Fluttershy.

"My dear Fluttershy this is Screwball my daughter" Discord said smiling nervously, now that he was actually introducing Screwball to Fluttershy he was a bit nervous on the questions she'll be asking later. She's probably the only pony that knew of Screwball's existence.

"H-hi!" Screwball took her hoof out.

"It's nice to finally meet you!" Screwball said excitably.

Fluttershy smiled brightly and shook the filly's hoof. "It's nice to meet you Screwball. I didn't know Discord had a daughter" She took a glance at Discord and raised a eyebrow.

"Well let's get started! Good thing I made extra tea!" Fluttershy said as she opened the door to let them in.

Screwball slowly made her way into her cottage and down next to her father.

"She seems nice. I hope she likes me.." Screwball thought as she tighten her grip on the chair she was sitting on.

Chapter 4

Screwball frowned a little. What if she didn't like her? Would her mommy be mad at her for getting a new mommy?. She started to tremble gently as she continue to think of the worst possibilities. Discord felt the chair moving softly. His eyes trailed to the trembling mare. He's eyes softened as he placed a paw on the filly's head, gently patting her.

"Don't worry my sweet she'll love you" Discord said with a warm smile. He knew this would be difficult for her but he also knew Fluttershy would be gently with her and give her all the time she needed to be comfortable with her.

They both jumped as the sounds of glass breaking followed by a soft shriek were heard.

"Stay here Screwball" Discord quickly got out of his seat and opened the door which lead to the kitchen.

"Oh no this is going to be a disaster" She let a small whine. Screwball usually loved disasters. It made the event more fun but in this situation she knew that it wasn't the case. She let out a shaky sigh before getting off her seat and walking towards a small mirror.

"I hope she's ok..." Screwball mumbled as she fixed her hat and mane. She wiggled her nose up as she concentrated hard to keep her eyes straight.

"There all better!" She smiled brightly, hoping she looked ok. She squealed as saw the mirror cracked. It wasn't long before she noticed her eyes suddenly turning magenta and her wide smile turned into a scowl. She was scared now, the edges of her mouth twitched as she tried to smile. It felt like entirety until she was able to have control of her face. She fell on her rump and placed a hoof against her chest as she tried to catch her breath. Her eyes filled with tears, She knew those eyes weren't hers but they were diffidently familiar.

"M-Mommy?" She whispered softly, not looking away from the that a sign that she didn't want Fluttershy to be her new mommy? She slowly looked away from the mirror as she heard her father calling her name.

"Screwball are you alright? It's really quiet in there" Discord asked as he used magic to clean the broken plates. He expected the cries of those monsters Fluttershy calls pets but then again she would probably want to make a good impression.

"I'm s-sorry Discord" Fluttershy said meekly as she poured the tea into her tea pot.

"Oh no it's fine Fluttershy. Besides you know you shouldn't be carrying those plates at once." He said teasingly, taking the two plates of tea cakes.

Fluttershy blushed lightly as she grabbed two small washcloths to hold the tea pot and placing it on the tray.

"She must be more nervous now. I know that has to be hard for her..." Fluttershy said as she slowly opened the door to the living room.

"Oh nononono" Screwball quickly looked at the mirror again, seeing her mane a mess and face red. She looked terrible, she quickly ran outside into the bushes. She was to scared to realize she had left her hat behind or the branches cutting her face and hooves as she continue to run until she stopped in Sugarcube corner.

"I hope dad doesn't get too angry at me" Screwball wiped the sweat off her forehead and sat down at the ground and sighed loudly. She looked around at the ponies around her, giving them a small smile. Her father never really took her to see Ponyville so she didn't know anypony of any place she can go. She lifted her nose and sniffed the air.

"Mmmnn! Something smells good" She got and took a few steps before she heard loud screams from the ponies around her. Confused she looked around seeing no signs of danger. Her face pale as she realized there was a shadow surrounding her. She then looked up to see large boxes falling from the sky.

"MOMMY!" Screwball was too scared to move. Shutting her eyes, she couldn't but call out for her mother. But she knew she wouldn't come not even her dad could help her now. She called out again, surprise to feel somepony pulling her into a tight hug.
