Dinky Doo likes everything to be perfectly neat and orderly, from her personal library to her own mane to all of Equestria. Being Princess Celestia's personal student hasn't left a lot of room for disorder, and she's perfectly fine with that, especially since she had plenty of time for chaos when she was still living with her mother.

Then one day, a fairytale that she reads changes everything. Suddenly, her teacher has forced her to monitor the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville, the place she's sworn to avoid forever. To make things worse, the ponies there insist on trying to make friends with her. But when all of Equestria is in mortal danger, she might have to put her hesitations about making friends aside.
