Author's note: I don't own anything but the plot and my OCs. It's a sequel to "How the Night Sparkles." It will sometimes center around the younger princesses and their friends. In the younger princesses' points of view, you may notice "Mother Luna" and "Mother Twilight," because I don't want it to be confusing.

Luna's P.O.V

So many years have passed since the day that Twilight and I decided to have children. Now, we have two daughters that made a few friends in Ponyville. They are twins, but the older twin symbolizes the day, while the younger twin symbolizes the night. The funny thing is, their friends are most likely to go to the younger twin for advice, sometimes ignoring the older twin.

The first twin is Golden Dawn. Her coat is white as snow, and her mane is golden, with the magenta streaks and the purple streaks. Her cutie mark is a sunrise, with the pink and orange hues. Her eyes are lavender with pink and red streaks. She loves reading, and her magic is very strong because of alicorn magic.

She has a special power, which is the control of the flames and the sun. She takes pride in having the powers. Yet, she feels slight jealousy towards her younger sister, for her younger sister is learning to control the night, and her sister is very beautiful at any time of either day or night. Golden Dawn tends to snap at her sister sometimes, but she tries to be kind.

The second twin is Moonlight Eclipse. Her coat is dark lavender, and her mane is the color of the night sky, with the light purple and the silver streaks. Her cutie mark is a lunar eclipse, with a little white spark on the bottom of the eclipse. Her eyes are teal with lavender streaks. She loves going on adventures, and she is able to control dark magic without getting corrupted.

She is learning to dreamwalk, and she may sometimes control the stars. She takes pride in sharing the beautiful night with me. She knows that most ponies love the night, and a few love the day. She is also playful sometimes, and there are times when she would have an accident, but she would laugh at the accident anyways.

The two sisters are old enough to do certain adult things, as long as they don't do anything foolish. Golden Dawn isn't always happy, and Moonlight Eclipse wonders why.

Moonlight Eclipse's P.O.V

Golden Dawn speaks less with me every year, and she seems to be hiding something. I wish she would tell me why... One afternoon, as I watch my sister gaze at the flowers, I walk up to her. "Golden Dawn? Do you want to hang out with our friends? You aren't always alone," I said.

"Go away, Moonlight! Have fun with your friends!" She shouted.

"Okay, bye..."

She glares at me as I fly into the sky to reach Ponyville. Five ponies approach me a minute later. "She wouldn't talk to me. And she doesn't want to be with us anymore for some reason," I said.

My friends are Rainbow Speed, Purple Pie, Fabulousity, Firefly, and Apple Tart. Rainbow Speed is a tomboyish pegasus with a rainbow mane. Her eyes are magenta, and her coat is light blue. Her cutie mark is a thundercloud.

Purple Pie is a hyper Earth pony with a curly purple mane. Her coat is light purple, and her eyes are cerulean. Her cutie mark is three yellow party balloons.

Fabulousity is a unicorn of high class, and she's almost like royalty. Her mane is violet, and her coat is white. Her eyes are the color of sapphire, and her cutie mark is three diamonds.

Firefly is a shy pegasus, and her hair is pastel pink. Her coat is yellow, and her eyes are light green. Her cutie mark is a monarch butterfly. She has an assertive side sometimes- maybe that's how she gets her name.

Apple Tart is an Earth pony with the country mare type of personality. Her mane is light blond with ginger streaks, and her coat is light tan. She has freckles on her nose and her cheeks. Her eyes are lime green, and her cutie mark is a tart with red apples.

They're usually friendly, but sometimes, they have a problem with something. "Is Golden Dawn hiding something?" Apple Tart asked.

"Maybe," I replied.

"Maybe a flight through the bright blue sky could cheer her up," Rainbow Speed suggested.

"No, how about fashion?" Fabulousity asked.

"A party would be most effective when a pony is down!" Purple Pie said.

"Maybe we could give her time. We don't want to force her," Firefly spoke in a soft voice.

"I have a few dresses for you to try on for the Summer Gala," Fabulousity told me, "Follow me."

I sigh in response. I'm not that kind of princess, but Golden Dawn might be. "Don't be so gloomy about your sister. She'll cheer up later," Purple Pie said.

"But she hasn't told us about what's wrong or what's on her mind," I replied.

Golden Dawn's P.O.V

Sure, my sister is happy with a lot of friends surrounding her. I wonder how calm she is, and how come I haven't achieved the calmness like my parents have. Mother Luna is very peaceful like the night, but she was once uptight long ago. To everypony, her calmness makes her seem wise- and she is. She is also benevolent and kind.

Mother Twilight is also calm, but she tends to worry about things. She isn't always worrying- she tries to keep it from showing. She is still a bit quiet in public, but she is not too shy. She is kind and benevolent, and also wise.

I try to be kind, but I don't understand the meaning of "benevolence" yet. It seems to mean "noble and regal," but I don't think a leader of a group would have to be regal. A leader can just be kind, right? Moonlight has inherited the good qualities from our parents, and that's how many ponies come flocking to her for advice and her wisdom.

Even though she is the younger twin, she is wise beyond her years. I'm the more uptight sister, which means that I tend to get upset or angry from time to time. Maybe it's because of the mysterious voice speaking to me whenever I'm alone and whenever I have negative emotions.

I look up at the bright sky. "You may be proud of the daytime and the 'beauty' it brings, but there's something missing... Ponies that know Moonlight Eclipse can see past your kind facade. You belong to us, the ponies of shadows and doom. You don't belong in this world," The voice spoke.

"Stop it!" I screamed, "I am not evil, and I shall never become like you, whatever you are!"

I rush into the castle, and then I storm into my bedroom. I slam the door behind me, and I start writing in my diary. My parents rush into the room, and I glare at them. "What's wrong?" Mother Twilight asked.

"It's the voice again. She keeps telling me that I couldn't control my emotions or my jealousy towards my sister. Maybe one day, I would snap at last," I replied with discontent.

"I know how you feel- Nightmare Moon was like that long ago, way before my banishment when I was about your age," Mother Luna said, "You must ignore her, or she would corrupt you, as it once happened to me long ago. I don't like to speak of the past when it comes to Nightmare Moon. Just tell the voice to stop."

"It wouldn't work! I could still hear her- and now I can hear her chuckling in a cruel way!" I shouted, "Not even your words can help! Why do I have to be in the shadow of my sister?!"

They look at each other for a minute with certain expressions, and then Mother Twilight walks out of the room. Mother Luna gives me a stern expression with some empathy in her eyes as she touches my chin with her hoof. "I know you've been feeling like this ever since Moonlight came into the world. I know you've been ignoring her because of emotions and your powers... You must understand when I tell you this," She said.

She pauses for a moment, and then she speaks once again.

"I'll tell you a story... Once, there are two alicorns that control the Sun and the Moon. The older alicorn gets more attention for her day, and she has more praise and appreciation, while her sister gets none. The younger alicorn became jealous and resentful, and vowed to bring about eternal night. Her sister tried to reason with her, but the younger alicorn refused as she turned into a mare of darkness... Nightmare Moon! The older alicorn then banished her to the Moon for a thousand years. After that, the younger alicorn is released from Nightmare Moon by the Elements of Harmony- your mother with that cutie mark is the one that released me from Nightmare Moon. You must understand that jealousy can turn a pony into a monster," Mother Luna said as her expression changes a bit.

"Who is the older alicorn?" I asked.

"My sister, Celestia."

She sighs for a second as she looks out the window. Suddenly, I feel angry once again. "My sister always get praise for her kindness, while I get none!" I shouted.

"You must stop," She said.

"Even though I try to be nice to others, they would back away if I ever smile! Maybe it's because of the way I treat others sometimes! No, it can't be that reason! Maybe it's my quick temper that they dread so much! Nopony loves me as I deserved!"

My anger turns to sadness as I start crying on the bed. "I'll tell you why... You are a bit mean to your sister sometimes, and ponies know that. They don't understand, and neither does Moonlight. And-" Mother Luna said.

"Shut up and get out!" I screamed using the Royal Canterlot Voice.

"Why won't you listen?! It's rude to interrupt!"

She walks out a minute later, and I once again start writing in my diary. It is true, that Moonlight gets all the attention, love, and praise, and not to mention that our parents talk to her more and they praise her more. They only criticize me, even though I put hard work in my magic and such! My sister gets magnificent gifts while I get none, too.
