Holy shit, I haven't updated this since May. The months fly right on by, don't they?

So, for those of you who pay attention to the author's notes, you know that I've started college since the last chapter was uploaded. It's been going fairly well, so far, if a little burden-heavy. My followers also know that I've done a few other small one-shots since then. (Fluttershy Shares a Purple Flurp was literally written on a free night when a silly idea came into my head.) But all you do know that I have given this story the cold shoulder. In fact, when have I not given this story the cold shoulder? It seems that I merely drop in every month, dump a chapter, and then vanish. Even then, that hasn't happened in several months.

But I haven't completely forgotten about this story. True, I haven't actively been working on it in several months, but I still remember it. It has remained somewhere in the back of mind (somewhere between that dead Dat Boi meme and the knowledge that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell). There are many fanfics- so many with genuine potential to be great stories- that are started and never finished. I have noticed a surprise surge in favorites recently, and this story is about to break 25,000 hits. I have over 50 favorites at this point, and all I can say to that is "wow". I'm flattered, guys, I really am. A significant number of people obviously like this story. There must be something that I'm doing right.

I'll tell you what I'm not doing right, though, and that's making you guys wait for such an ungodly amount of time. So, to get to the point, yes, this story will be finished.

"But Turnip, you always say-"

I know, I know. My actions have not reflected my words. This story is over 2 years old now. It should have ended a long time ago. We are already near the end, that is true. Dempsey's arrival was really the sign that the story was drawing near its close. We aren't at the climax yet, either, and we won't be for a few more chapters. This story pretty much has to break 100k words. There is absolutely no way I can tie everything up before then, not without an extreme and unnatural increase in pacing.

The semester is drawing to a close, and my incoming exams take precedence before anything else. I don't think that's too unreasonable. So, I can promise you that there won't be any chapters before December 10th. But after that, I have a month-long break. And I can assure you that this story will be what I am working on throughout that break. I am hoping to have this complete before Donnie-boy's inauguration. That gives me roughly 40 days for what should be 6-10 chapters with little to bother me. I think that's a fine amount of time.

I'll leave this up until the next chapter comes out. First chapter should be out between the 10th and the 13th. See you guys soon.
