This is just an update, no new chapter here. I've been almost silent for the past few months, but I think it's time to come out and explain where I've been and confirm the fact that I'm still alive and haven't forgotten about this story.

So, I'm sure many of you remember the promise of two chapters over Fall Break in the author's note last chapter. Obviously I haven't delivered. Why? Well, I won't bullshit you, I lost interest in this story. Now, that doesn't mean I'm giving up and canceling. I was struck with the same writer's block I had over my summer vacation. I often go through cycles where I write passionately and where I don't even bother to pick up a pencil. I'm currently stuck in the latter, and have been since mid-November.

After I published Chapter 26, I quit working on OVAC and published 3 one-shots over a month: SHOOT ME IN THE FACE!, A Formal Apology, and You Can't C Me. I had a lot of fun writing these, but they did not serve their initial purpose: To bring back inspiration to OVAC.

Now, strangely enough, I love doing most of my writing in school. That's when I'm the most motivated anyway. (Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3 are distracting, but they're not the sole reasons for my lack of writing). I'm rounding out my senior year. In fact, my final semester of high school began today. My goals were to have this story finished before I entered college, but time gets away fast. Perhaps a fitting New Year's Resolution would be to manage my time better, but I digress.

The story will not be finished before crossing the 100k word mark, but we are more than halfway there at this point. When/If I finish this story, I'm not picking up any long-term projects. (If you think I'm bad with time now, wait until I get to college) I love writing silly one-shots, so I'll probably publish stuff like that as long as I have ideas to work with.

Make no mistake: I'm alive, I'm not giving up, and I'm gonna try to do better.
