Twilight's P.O.V

As Celestia and I walk out of my new home, Luna opens her mouth to speak. "Twilight, I must tell you something. Celestia and I have just retired from our duties. A certain royal will rule Equestria with you," Luna said.

"The one that Rarity got angry at one time at the Gala?" I asked.

"No, Prince Blueblood will not rule with you. My daughter, Princess Moonlight, will rule with you."

"How is that possible?"

"A long time ago when I was your age, I used to date a handsome young man. It was love at first sight, and then he became more cruel as we aged... One night, he stormed into my room, and..."

"Did he force unwanted sex on you?"

"Yes... And one day when he found out about my pregnancy, he broke up with me. I got real angry with him, and I told him to stop being so mean. He denied it and left me all alone..."

"And was Moonlight born as a result?"

"Yeah, but I tried to hide the fact that I have a daughter."

As she is talking about Moonlight, I can imagine what she might look like... Almost. She might look a bit like Luna, but I'm not sure.

"Moonlight will be arriving at five o'clock tonight," Celestia said, "We should meet her at the train station to tell her of the news. I must ask you something, Twilight... Are you okay with being immortal?"

"Me?! As immortal?! Wouldn't I outlive my friends?!" I asked.

"Now, Twilight, you must calm down," Luna said, "I know what it's like to outlive someone."

I calm down a bit.

A few hours later, Moonlight arrives at the train station...

Twilight's P.O.V

A young woman with dark purple hair and fair skin seems to be waiting for us. She approaches Luna, and hugs her. "Is this Moonlight?" I asked Luna.

"Yes. Moonlight, meet Twilight Sparkle. She used to be Celestia's student before becoming a princess. She once helped me to reunite with your aunt," Luna said.

"It is nice to meet you, Twilight," Moonlight told me.

"It's nice to meet you too," I replied.

"Moonlight, we must tell you something. Your mother and I have retired from our duties. You will rule along with Twilight," Celestia told Moonlight.

"Really? I've always wanted to be a ruler," Moonlight replied with excitement, "But with Twilight? She might tell me to stay back while she fights the bad guys, as you did with my mother."

"Now, Moonlight, that didn't actually happen. I once helped Celestia to defeat Discord with the Elements of Harmony," Luna said as she chuckles a bit, "She doesn't treat me like a damsel in distress."

"So, if you were Luna's daughter, then why haven't you showed your face often?" I asked Moonlight.

"Ever since my mother got banished to the moon, I became introverted and lonely. After that, I started living with a guardian because... Because I don't want people to think that I'm also a bad person. I... I'm not bad, should I repeat," Moonlight replied.

"You're never bad- and you don't have to be shy," Luna said, "Even though I was shy when I got released from the Nightmare forces. Since then, I never got out of my bedroom until Nightmare Night."

"What do you mean by that? What if the people fear me and hate me?"

"They will not. I'm sure they would like you."

"We will move the seat of power to Ponyville, where Twilight lives," Celestia said.

"Twilight, you're a princess? I thought you're from humble beginnings," Moonlight told me.

"I wasn't born a princess. Celestia made me a princess right after I got the destinies of my friends right," I replied, "I wasn't really sure about being a princess at first, but I've gotten used to it, but outliving my friends? I'm not so sure."

"Twilight, I know how it feels to outlive a friend," Celestia told me.

"But you are busy all of the time-" I replied.

"Not always." She chuckles a bit, even though she doesn't laugh very much.

What do you think of the prologue? Well, the next chapter will take place after 100 years. Immortal ages will be different from human ages- like if a non immortal is 17 and a human would be 1700, for example. Any reviews/comments appreciated.

Twilight's P.O.V

A hundred years has passed, and Moonlight and I completed our training long ago. She made the Dusk Court return, too. There is always a Dawn Court, which can be full of men sometimes because of my beauty. The same goes for the Dusk Court. Right now, I am at the Summer Sun Celebration, about to raise the Sun.

Moonlight walks onto the stage, and she is no longer shy. She smiles warmly as she looks at our people. I use my magic to rise the sun, and she lowers the moon with her magic.

Violet Glimmer's P.O.V

I'm in the middle of the crowd, watching as Twilight rises the sun. I gasp- the sight of the sun rising, and even the moon setting is so glorious in every way. Both the princesses are really powerful in magic, I guess.

There are rumors that Princess Twilight isn't born a princess, and that a former ruler made her a princess. The rumors are also existent in the storybooks. I gaze at my guardian for a second, and she smiles at me. "What do you think, Jadelyn?" I asked.

"It's very impressive. Why do you ask? You've never shown a lot of emotion before," She replied, and that's when I realize that I am expressing the feeling of being impressed.

I immediately force my face to become void of emotion. "Well, I want to learn more about magic. They say that some people go to that school to learn more about magic. I hear that there's an entrance exam coming up," I said in a stoic manner.

"Alright then. I'll talk with Princess Twilight about this. She sometimes teaches at the school," Jadelyn replied.

I turn to see Princess Twilight and Princess Moonlight leaving the stage for the fancy treehouse that is in the distance. Well, I've learned about the castles- namely the ones that the past rulers once lived in. I wonder why they move the seat of power out of Canterlot and into this small town.

The people leave for their homes, and I decide to talk with Princess Twilight about my interest in learning about magic. I don't have many friends because I have a hard time trying to trust the people outside of my own home. But, Princess Twilight and Princess Moonlight seem to have good intentions, for sure.

Jadelyn and I walk to the fancy treehouse that looks a bit like a castle. A guard stops us in our tracks. "Are you planning to have an audience with the Princess?" He asked.

"Yes," Jadelyn said, "And it's about Violet planning to go to the Magic Academy."

"Alright, then. You shall pass," The guard said as he allows us to enter the place.

We enter the throne room, and Princess Twilight sits upon the throne with Princess Moonlight. "Do you need something?" Princess Twilight asked.

"Not really. Violet wants to learn more about magic. She would have to go through the entrance exam though," Jadelyn said.

Princess Twilight smiles a bit. "Violet, you must study if you want to pass the entrance exam," She told me.

"Alright then," I replied, "What you did out there is impressive."

"Thank you. You must start your studies in magic. The exam is this Friday, at five o'clock. Don't be late."

She doesn't take her eyes off of me for some reason. "I think you remind me of someone that I once knew," She concluded.

"Who did I remind you of?" I asked.

"One of my past friends. Her name is Rarity."

"Did something happen to her?"

"She is not alive anymore. Even though she achieves her dreams long ago, she still doesn't have any children because of the many heartbreaks. Her sister did find love though."

I curtsy a bit before I walk out of the throne room with my guardian.

A few days later...

Violet's P.O.V

I have mixed emotions about the entrance exam. I have studied real hard, especially on late nights. I enter the Magic Acedemy with my guardian. Jadelyn waits at the door a minute later as I approach the desk. A woman walks in with a wagon that holds the six jewels with their respective shapes that I may have seen in a storybook.

"They are the Elements of Harmony. See if you can activate them with your magic," She said.

I summon my magic, and the magical aura envelops the Elements of Harmony. They seem to be activated, and the people in the room gasp loudly. "You are the Chosen One. You may meet new friends that are also the Chosen Ones. You will fight the forces of evil in your journeys," A mysterious voice said in my mind.

The jewels then float back into the wagon. Princess Twilight walks in, and she seems a bit impressed. "I have heard that you have successfully activated the Elements of Harmony. You are now my student. I am very proud of you," She said, "And look at your skirt."

I gaze at my skirt, and on there is the deep blue star with purple stars surrounding the star in the center. "A cutie mark," I gasped, "In magic?"

"You have learned your talent later than most people usually do. When I was younger, I got a similiar cutie mark when I passed the entrance exam."

"Wasn't that very long ago?"

"Yes, Violet. I will give you books about magic- and there is something else that you shall learn?"

"What else should I learn?"

"The Magic of Friendship."

"Friendship? But, Princess! Most of my friends in the past are fake and cruel. Will my next friends be the same?"

"I'm sure your next friends won't be the same. Did your parents do anything about the mean friends?"

"My parents only abused me back then. Nobody gave me love or anything- only hateful words and actions."

"That's terrible. I can't imagine what it must be like for you, Violet."

I smile, and my heart starts to warm up a bit. My heart has never been warm- in the past, my heart has always been cold and bitter. "Um, thanks for understanding me. Have someone ever bullied you?" I replied after a minute.

"A little bit, but that is when I was just a little girl. I'm not sure why," Princess Twilight said.

We walk out of the academy, Jadelyn following behind. "The small town, over there, is where you may meet your new friends. One of them may be in Cloudsdale," Princess Twilight concluded.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Well, I'm sure you may meet someone that wants to be your friend."

As I enter the small town, Princess Twilight stands behind, as if she is going to attend to her duties as a ruler. A girl is walking down the street, and she seems to be around my age. I walk over to her, and she smiles. "Nice to meet you. My name's Violet Glimmer," I said.

"Are you new here?! I'm throwing a welcome party for you at Sugarcube Corner. My name's Felicity," She replied.

She has curly blond hair with golden yellow highlights. She has magenta eyes, and she seems really excitable. I think she has some kindness, and lots of laughter like the girl in one of the storybooks that I read. She looks a bit like her with the curly hair and the wide smile.

"I gotta prepare the party for you," She concluded as she dashes off with excitement.

I then notice a girl flying across the sky. She has bright red hair and light tan skin. She wears her hair in a long ponytail, but her hair doesn't interfere with her flight abilities. "Hello! Can you hear me?" I called.

The girl takes notice of me, and lands on the ground. "What do you need? Call me Skylander, by the way. I want to be a Wonderbolt. What are you doing here? Are you new?" She asked.

"My name's Violet Glimmer," I replied as she reaches out to shake my hand.

"Our kind is the Winged Ones, but they call us angels because 'Winged Ones' is such a mouthful."

"Would there be dark angels too? You know, the ones that are evil?"

"There's dark angels, and they're part of the rumored Nightmare forces."

"I'm new, so... Well, what do people say about you?"

"You want to know? Well, my friends say that I'm honest and loyal."

"Are you coming to Felicity's party tonight?"

"She has a party?"

"Yes. She seems so welcoming towards newcomers. The party's at Sugarcube Corner."

"Of course she is."

She flies off, causing a wind that blows my hair.

Violet's P.O.V

As I walk into the building that is on Sugarcube Corner, the inside lights up as Felicity jumps in front of me. "Surprise!" She shouted, "This is a welcome party! We usually do that for the ones that are new here."

"I know. You already told me earlier," I replied as I walk over to a nearby table. To my surprise, Skylander is sitting at the same table.

"Why didn't you smile?" Felicity asked me.

I shrug in response, and she hands me a cupcake. "Thanks," I said as I take a bite of the cupcake.

"Do you girls read?" I asked, hoping to strike up a conversation to break the ice.

"Not really. It's an egghead thing," Skylander said.

"I don't read because it's not related to fun and parties," Felicity added in.

"Well, I love to read. It can be fun, if you ask me. I've read about Daring Do," I said.

"Daring Do?" Skylander asked.

"Yes. She's really awesome, and she goes on daring quests. That's why she has that name," I replied.

"That sounds awesome- is there a video game or movie about her though?"

"Perhaps a few vid games- and there's only one movie about her. Why do you want to know?"

"Parties are more fun than books," Felicity said, "C'mon, let's play some fun games together! We can play truth or dare, play twister, or even dance to upbeat music!"

"Yeah, does drinking count?" I asked.

"We never serve alcohol because it's bad!"

"Alright then."

I finish eating my cupcake, and we start dancing to upbeat music.

A few hours later...

Violet's P.O.V

I head home, and for some reason, Jadelyn isn't home. I notice a piece of paper on the coffee table, and I pick it up. "My job requires working overtime. Don't fret about your safety- I know you can take care of yourself. -Jadelyn," I read.

Of course I can be independent, but I wouldn't be willing to throw a teenager party because you know what would happen- alcohol, getting drunk, and such. I think Skylander and Felicity seem like great friends. I mean, they're really nice and trustworthy.

I feel a bit of exhaustion, and I assume that the exhaustion is from the dancing and such. I slump onto the couch to take a nap. I close my eyes, and I suddenly enter a vision...

"Violet Glimmer, you will stop an upcoming evil that may come soon. Your friends each represent the Elements of Harmony- two Elements, one person. Skylander represents Honesty and Loyalty, Felicity represents Kindness and Laughter, and you represent Generosity and Magic. The Elements, once touched by the ones that represent them, will transform into bracelets," A voice said.

I look around, and I notice two majestic women standing together. The taller one's hair consists of pastel colors, and her eyes are magenta colored. The shorter one's hair is the color of the beautiful night, and her eyes are teal colored. I am in a room that looks a bit like the throne room- and the walls are pure white. The distance seems a bit blurry.

"Why am I here?" I asked, "Am I in the past? Am I dead? I just don't understand."

"You are not dead. You are in a vision- and the tales of the late princesses that rule before Princess Twilight and Princess Moonlight are very true... Even the fairytale versions speak of the past," The taller one said.

"And what about Nightmare Moon's banishment long ago?" I asked.

"It is a true story, although I do not like to speak of it. Long ago I was consumed with jealousy, but then your mentor and her deceased friends released me from the Nightmare forces," The shorter one said, "When an immortal leaves the Earth, they are still remembered in storybooks and fairy tales, and even the movies. Sometimes only their names were mentioned. Even though I am gone, I still watch over Princess Moonlight."

"Just like how I still watch over Princess Twilight even after my passing," The taller one added in.

"What are your names?" I asked.

"My name is Celestia, and this is Luna," The taller one replied.

"Are most stories about the past real?" I asked.

"Some are real, and some are not," Luna said, "You may find the stories in the library... Or you can ask Princess Twilight about the past. She may tell you more. She may even have a journal that she once shared with her friends."

"Violet, there is a reason why you and your friends will use the Elements of Harmony against this upcoming evil. Because Twilight outlived her friends, the Elements of Harmony have become disconnected from them," Celestia added in, "Just like the time when I banished Nightmare Moon to the moon. As a result, we were no longer connected to the Elements."

"Good luck on stopping the upcoming evil," The girl with the cowgirl hat said.

"It will be dreadful not to put the Elements to good use. Share them with your friends, and you'll succeed in stopping this evil," The girl with purple hair said.

"I totally agree with them! Once you stop this evil, there would be a celebration, right?" The girl with hot pink hair shouted as she activates the party cannon.

"You go, girl!" The girl with rainbow hair said.

"Um, as Apple Jack said, good luck," The shy girl with pastel pink hair said.

I open my eyes, and the vision I have is just a dream- the future events will probably not happen. I walk into my room, and then I sit down near my computer to log onto the computer. I check the email, and there are some friend requests from Facebook. They are from Skylander and Felicity. I accept the friend requests, and interestingly, there is a mysterious message that isn't from Facebook or anyplace.

I click on the message, and I learn that it is from Princess Moonlight. "I have seen the events in your dream or vision- or whatever it is. To me, it seems that they are telling the truth. I sense that an upcoming evil is about to destroy Equestria," I read.

Twilight's P.O.V

I glance at the mirror, and then I glance at Moonlight. "This mirror can also lead to a world other than the kind of world without magic or angels or even deities. A world where darkness is everywhere, a world where it is eternal night, a world without light..." Moonlight said, "They say if an evil being escapes the Dark Realm, then they will wreak havoc on this world."

"I would agree. I mean, the people who inhabit the Dark Realm are cold and evil. Their hearts are as black as night, much like their immortal ruler," I replied.

"Their ruler is a dark queen, but is called Dark Night. She once tried to rule Equestria long before Celestia and my mother were born. One of my ancestors stopped Dark Night and banished her into the mirror. Dark Night will escape this very night... I can sense it."

As the clock strikes seven, the lights go out. We hear evil laughter echoing through the room, and then we notice a figure in the mirror glaring at us with evil red eyes. "You fools, even in imprisonment, evil still has the strength to escape into the world full of the goody-two-shoes so that the world can be consumed in eternal fear, darkness, and hate. Even your ancestors don't have enough strength to imprison me forever," The figure said.

It is a woman with really pale skin and pitch black hair. "I am Dark Night, Queen of the Dark Realm," She said, "You must give Equestria to me!"

"What do you expect?! I will never hand over Equestria!" I retorted.

"You are very stubborn..."

I cast my magic to deal with her, and she holds out a staff with a skull on it. "You shall be my prisoners," Dark Night concluded as she turns us to stone.

Normal P.O.V

The two princesses attempt to stop Dark Night, but Dark Night imprisons them in the dungeon. Morning comes, and Dark Night's expression hardens at the sight of the morning light. "Stupid light," She muttered as she activates her magic to spread the darkness.

The darkness then covers the land, leaving the citizens afraid.

Violet's P.O.V

I don't understand why it's still dark. The clock says seven o'clock, but mornings aren't that dark, right? I wonder what's going on- is it because of the upcoming evil? I change into my clothes, and then I walk out the door. On the ground is a box. I'm not sure how it got here, and Jadelyn is still sleeping in bed, perhaps because it's dark out and she mistakes it for nighttime.

I open the box, and in there are the Six Elements of Harmony. That's when Skylander and Felicity appear. "Did you wonder why it's so dark?" Skylander asked.

"Yes," Felicity and I said in unison.

"You represent Laughter and Kindness," I told Felicity as I lend her the two Elements, "And Skylander, you represent Honesty and Loyalty. I represent Generosity and Magic."

The Elements transform into bracelets, and The Element of Magic however stays in its tiara form. I place it on my head, and I feel like a princess... Almost. "Violet, Dark Night has taken over Equestria. You must use the Elements to stop her and banish her to the Dark Realm," A voice said. I think the voice belongs to Princess Twilight.

"We must stop Dark Night. She has risen from the Dark Realm. Our quest starts now," I said.

"I couldn't believe it! We're going on a daring quest?" Skylander asked.

"We're going to save Equestria from Dark Night," I replied, "We're not really gonna go through many many worlds to save the day."

"Alright then."

"Should we get something to benifit our needs during the quest?" Felicity asked.

"Maybe," I replied.

We walk out of the small town to find the Everfree Forest. "We have to go through some scary places?" Felicity asked.

"Yes," Skylander and I said.

"It's a full moon! Some zombies or-"

"Don't worry about them. They probably aren't real," I said.

"Are you joking? My brother went into the Everfree Forest one time, and the zombies almost killed him!" Skylander replied.

"I know the forest is dangerous, but shouldn't we stop arguing so that we can find the villainess and stop her?" Felicity asked.

"You're right," I said.

Skylander groans a bit as she adjusts her baseball cap. I think she is a tomboy like the girl from one of the stories. Stories of the past, how interesting... We walk deeper into the forest, and then we hear evil laughter echo throughout the forest.

Felicity flinches a bit, and Skylander gets into self defense position. "Whoever you are, you can't scare us easily," Skylander said.

"Heh heh heh... Looks like a group of kids have entered the forest to find me," A devious voice said.

"Who are you?" I asked, "Are you Dark Night? What happened to Princess Twilight and Princess Moonlight?"

"If you want to know what happened to the stubborn princesses of yours, I have taken them hostage so that they couldn't fight me." A figure becomes more visible, and it is a woman with pitch black hair, a pale complexion, and gleaming red eyes. She has an evil and devious smirk, and her dress is also pitch black.

She reminds me of a villainess from a movie. I'm not sure which villainess, though. She is holding a scepter with a skull. "You think you can stop me?" She asked, "I am Dark Night, Queen of the Darkness!"

"Why did you kidnap our rulers?! Without our rulers there would be crime everywhere- and despair, too," I retorted.

"They're quite defenseless against me. Twilight tried to stop me though. Moonlight, otherwise... Well, she is just standing there..."

She approaches us, and then grasps my chin gently. "Surely you're a kid with enough courage to stop me. You're probably weak like those princesses," She concluded.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Just what are you doing with Violet?" Skylander demanded.

"You can't stop us," Felicity said.

"Yeah!" I added in as I free my chin from Dark Night's grasp.

"To stop this woman, you must gather with your friends- hold your hands together, and the Elements shall be activated enough to stop this woman and banish her to the Dark Realm," A voice said.

"Let's hold hands to activate the Elements," I said.

We hold hands, and then we glance at Dark Night, who is about to attack us with her evil magic. "With the power of friendship, we are unstoppable..." I said, "Generosity and Magic..."

"Loyalty and Honesty..." Skylander added in.

"Kindness and Laughter!" Felicity added in.

A magical orb appears, and then it flies into the air. It envelops the dark queen, and the dark queen shouts "No" as the light takes her away. The skies clear up, and there is light once again.

Princess Twilight and Princess Moonlight appear as a result. "You have proved to be capable of defeating Dark Night and banishing her to the Dark Realm," Princess Moonlight said, "It takes a lot of courage to stop this woman."

"My faithful student, I give you congraluations for stopping Dark Night from taking over Equestria. You have saved the land with your friends and the power of Friendship," Princess Twilight added in, "We will hold a celebration in your honor."

Princess Twilight and I hug each other for a second, and then Princess Moonlight hugs me. For the first time in years, I have felt warmth in my heart. It's like a fire is starting in my heart- the fire of friendship, perhaps. I smile as I break away from the hug. It feels so refreshing to finally be accepted.

We walk out of the forest to celebrate the defeat of Dark Night. "You know what I'm gonna do- throw a gigantic party!" Felicity said as she hops in excitement.

"It's great to save the day. I love saving the day," Skylander added in.

"You guys have taught me a lot," I said.

"I don't think it's so hard for you to find happiness. You could easily find it here," Princess Twilight said, "Even though it seems so hard and challenging."
