Author's note: I don't own anything except the plot and some OCs. It takes place after Season 4. This story is a bit inspired by the movie "Frozen" but has a different storyline for a reason- and there's not going to be any songs.

A thousand years ago, four alicorn princesses control the four seasons. They keep nature in balance with their magic.

Wintry Snowflake is the first sister. Her hair is the color of snow, with ice blue highlights. Her eyes are ice blue, and she has really fair skin. She isn't the most beautiful, and that makes her feel slightly depressed and lonely.

Spring Rose is the second sister. She has pink hair that is the color of the pink flowers that bloom in the spring. Her eyes are the color of dandelions. She has fair skin, but is not as pale as Wintry Snowflake. Her magical aura is pastel pink. She has a bubbly nature, despite being older than Summer and Autumn.

Summer Warmth is the third sister. She has green hair, and she has sky blue eyes that represent the summer sky. Her magical aura is a bit colorful like the sunset. She is very beautiful, but not as beautiful as her other sisters. She has tan skin like her sister Autumn Breeze. She has a really warm and kind personality.

Autumn Breeze is the fourth sister. She has golden red hair with gold highlights, and she has crimson eyes with a tint of copper. She is considered to be the most beautiful sister, and her magical aura is that of the Fall colors. She is loyal to her sisters, despite being the youngest of the four.

The four princesses change the seasons every year, until one fateful winter night, Wintry Snowflake rose in rebellion because she is jealous that the children enjoyed Spring, Summer, and Fall more than they enjoy winter. As a result, she turned into whom was once her emotions- Icy Blizzard.

Icy Blizzard won't end winter, so Spring Rose, Summer Warmth, and Autumn Breeze has no choice but to imprison her in an ice castle as a punishment.

To this day, the other sisters take additional responsibility for the coldest season by starting it in December and ending it near the end of March... Now, it is mid-Fall, with the breeze slowly getting cooler as the days and nights pass.

Twilight Sparkle's P.O.V

I've heard of the legend of the Four Seasonal Sisters. They take control of each season, but they aren't seen very often. Like Celestia and Luna, they are immortals. The eldest sister's jealousy turned her into the legendary Icy Blizzard. Icy Blizzard is said to cause the worst blizzards and even create eternal winter, but that almost happened long ago.

Pinkie Pie rushes into my new treehouse, being her usual self. "Hey, Twilight! Are you gonna dress up for Nightmare Night? I'm gonna dress up as Anna from Frozen," She said.

"I'm going to dress up for Nightmare Night. How are the preparations?" I replied.

"The preparations are going excellent! Apple Jack has prepared a bucket filled with water and apples for the night! Rarity made the costumes and might portray Elsa from Frozen, and Rainbow Dash may be the same, scaring everyone using that thunder bolt! And like usual, Fluttershy would stay home. That's such a bummer. It's fun to go trick-or-treating..."

"I will dress up as Princess Zelda from Legend of Zelda. I don't know who would portray Link, though."

"That's super cool! I mean, I sometimes watched Rainbow Dash play that game!"

"Cadence may come for Nightmare Night. She will dress up as Midna."

Fluttershy walks in, and she smiles at us. Then, she smiles a bit more as she notices Pinkie Pie being excitable.

"How are you, Fluttershy?" I asked.

"I'm fine," She replied.

"I'm wondering if you would at least come out of the house for Nightmare Night? The people will just wear costumes and heavy horror makeup. If you see a person portraying a supernatural creature, don't be afraid- remember, they're just wearing costumes. Everyone has fears, but we must fight our fears."

"Yeah! You just laugh at your fears," Pinkie Pie added in.

Apple Jack walks in, along with Rainbow Dash. "Howdy there! How are you?" Apple Jack greeted.

"We're excited for Nighmare Night," Pinkie Pie and I said in unison.

"I may go with you girls if I have time," Fluttershy said, "But I still get a bit scared though."

"You need to learn to be really courageous," Rainbow Dash told her.

"I'm trying to be."

As we walk out of my treehouse for a stroll, Rarity is walking down the street. "Hello girls," She called as she approaches us.

"How are you?" I asked.

"I'm really good. I'm a bit excited for Nightmare Night," She replied, "Dressing up as Elsa while Pinkie Pie dresses up as Anna. It'll be so much fun."

"I agree," Pinkie Pie replied.

"And Apple Bloom and her friends will dress up as the Powerpuff Girls," Apple Jack said, "Apple Bloom may portray Blossom, Sweetie Belle may portray Bubbles, and Scootaloo may portray Buttercup."

"What will they do as their fave characters?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"They would act like their favorite superheroines- you know, pretending to save lives and such," Apple Jack replied.

"I remember watching a bit of the show as a little girl," I said, "But most of the time I studied magic and such. I remembered when I used to portray Blossom, pretending to save the day."

"And you saved the day a few times in real life- with our help. We freed Luna from Nightmare Moon, we stopped Discord, we tried to save the Crystal Empire but Cadence and Spike saved the empire for us, and we even stopped Tirek with Rainbow Power," Rainbow Dash said, "I used to watch Powerpuff Girls long ago. Buttercup's the most awesome."

"Twi, here's a letter from Princess Celestia," Spike said as he runs up to us.

"Really? I'll read it," I replied as I take the letter out of his hands.

"Dear Twilight, you are needed at the castle. We have an important discussion regarding the Seasonal Princesses, except for the one that turned evil. -Princess Celestia," I read.

"Do I have to go with you?" Spike asked.

"You don't have to," I replied.

My friends follow me to Canterlot Castle, and I am adoring the colorful leaves on the trees. Fall is my favorite season, because of the beauty. As we enter the castle, Celestia and Luna are talking with a group of beautiful women with wings. They seem to represent the seasons.

"Twilight, meet the Seasonal Princesses. Autumn Breeze controls the Fall, Spring Rose controls the Spring, and Summer Warmth controls the summer," Celestia said, "I think you are wondering why Wintry Snowflake isn't here."

"I know why," I replied, "She is upset that the children seem to enjoy Autumn, Spring, and Summer more than they enjoy Winter, so she became Icy Blizzard."

Twilight's P.O.V

"Wintry Snowflake has felt jealousy as the days and nights passed. One fateful night, she is too stubborn to end the winter, and then transformed into Icy Blizzard. Even though Icy Blizzard is banished, she still creates blizzards in her exile. I have a feeling that she may break free from her prison, which is the ice castle that is in the frozen north," Summer Warmth said.

"Even though she was in her exile and corrupted by her negative emotions that caused her to turn evil, I still miss her," Spring Rose added in with a slight sob.

"So, we take additional responsibility to start and end winter with our powers. The winged ones helped out with the start of winter and the end of winter," Autumn Breeze said.

"We helped the sisters with the banishment of Ice Blizzard long ago," Celestia said.

"Would that explain my nightmare about the whole kingdom in an endless winter?" I asked, "You know, the new threat that will freeze Equestria?"

"That will explain the dream," Luna replied, "Several people has nightmares about the endless winter freezing the whole kingdom and the ones that they care about."

"Oooh, an endless winter where snowball fights happen! I would also build a snowman," Pinkie Pie said.

"No, it will not be exciting, Pinkie. It will be dangerous. If someone walks out of their house and not wearing the right kind of clothing, they would immediately freeze," Summer Warmth said, "And being frozen is not a very pleasant experience."

"Are you referring to the events that happened long ago when the three tribes are still in conflict with each other?" I asked.

"Yes," Autumn Breeze replied with a slight nod, "But, the servants of their leaders befriended each other, and thus, their leaders thawed out."

"Snow is not my thing. It really bothers me, the snowflakes getting into your hair and all," Rarity said as we hear the wind howling.

"Is winter coming already? Ice Blizzard is surely up to something," Rainbow Dash said.

"Now, you must not jump to conclusions," Celestia said, "We are not sure if Ice Blizzard is already free from her icy prison."

"I don't want an endless winter where the crops would die from the cold!" Apple Jack said.

"And I can't have one single snowflake ruin my hair," Rarity said.

"I want to build a snowman and have snowball fights," Pinkie Pie said excitedly.

"I don't want my animals freezing in the cold," Fluttershy said.

"I wouldn't appreciate the blizzard being completely out of control, to the point of where the winged people and I cannot control the strong winds and the extreme cold," Rainbow Dash said.

"Okay, girls. You must not complain about winter. I fear that Ice Blizzard is hearing us complain about the cons of winter," Spring Rose said.

"She could be... She could freeze us!" Fluttershy said.

"Do not fret, girls. With the right amount of outerwear to protect yourselves against her deadly magic, you will be alright," Luna said.

The howling of the wind is getting more loud and evident as the sun sets. "Oh, no! Winter is here already! What do we do?" Rarity asked.

"I am not sure. You must go, before the weather gets worse enough for you to freeze to death," Autumn Breeze said.

"What will happen to Nightmare Night? Will it be canceled because of the cold?" I asked.

"I am afraid that it will be canceled. But, if you quickly take action, it will be up again," Luna replied.

My friends and I walk out of the castle, and we notice a bit of frost on the ground. The wind is feeling very cold, and I rub my arms with my hands. "It's getting cold," I said.

"I agree. The worst possible thing is, Nightmare Night will get canceled! Please tell me this isn't happening!" Pinkie Pie said.

"Well, let's go home before we freeze to death," Fluttershy said, "It's getting colder every second."

We all get home, and as I enter my mini castle, I hear the howling of the wind getting much more loud. A blizzard starts, and I change into my outerwear. I feel a cold breeze coming into the mini castle, and I realize that my friends are in here, wearing their outerwear.

We all walk outside, and we notice a figure becoming more visible. "I see that you have still despised my winter even after a thousand years," A voice echoed.

"You must put a stop to this weather!" Rainbow Dash shouted.

"End the winter right now!" Apple Jack added in.

"We can have snowball fights or we can build a snowman," Pinkie Pie said.

The figure becomes more visible, and it is a woman with really pale skin. Her hair is the color of snow, along with icy blue highlights that match her eyes. She is wearing a gown that is the color of snow, and her earrings are made of ice. She has an icy glare that makes us feel as if we're being frozen.

"I see that you want to freeze all of us," Fluttershy said, "But don't freeze my animals!"

"Halt with the grumbling about the gorgeous winter," The woman said, "Or I shall freeze all of you! The winter shall last forever!"

"Are you Icy Blizzard?" I asked.

"How do you know of my name?" She asked.

"Princess Celestia told me a bit about you."

"Will you stop the winter? So many snowflakes are ruining my gorgeous hair," Rarity complained.

"You must stop grumbling about my gorgeous winter. Why do you enjoy Spring, Summer, and Fall much more than you enjoy Winter?! Well, the maidens that used to control the other seasons are imprisoned because of what they have done to me long ago. I must go now," Icy Blizzard said, "If you ever attempt to halt me in my plans, then you shall freeze to death."

She disappears, and then more snow quickly comes as a result. The snow is knee-deep, and our legs are freezing as a result. She's the one with a frozen heart, for sure.

Twilight's P.O.V

My friends and I walk to the Friendship Express to find the train. We will be going to the frozen north, where Icy Blizzard possibly lives. I feel my throat getting cold, and I wish there is something warm nearby- or someplace warm, should I say. But, we have to stop Icy Blizzard and bring back Wintry Snowflake.

"Twilight, are you blushing?" Rarity asked.

"No. My cheeks feel cold," I replied.

"Here, this scarf might keep your neck warm." Rarity takes out a lavender colored scarf, and places it on my neck. "There you go," She concluded.

We are near the Friendship Express, and some people are boarding the train. We'd probably meet with someone that is frozen or is suffering from severe frostbite- or perhaps severe hypothermia.

"We're going to the frozen north," I told the man as I give him a few coins.

"Well, we would all become frozen once we go to our destination," Rarity complained.

As the train starts moving, the blizzard becomes much worse. "Nightmare Night being canceled is the worst possible thing," Pinkie Pie said.

"I know, but we've got to be strong. I mean, Icy Blizzard could sense our weakness- worry, that is," I replied.

"I agree with Twilight," Rainbow Dash said.

"Okay, do we have everything?"

"Yes," Rarity said.

"Have you brought the Elements of Harmony with you?" I asked.

"Yes," My friends said in unison.

"I've got my Element too, and I'm sure we could stop Icy Blizzard in no time!"

"Yeah!"

The howling of the wind is getting louder and louder each minute- it's as if the Windigos are trying to freeze everything. Maybe Icy Blizzard is the one that created those creatures. They say that if someone has a cold heart, then they would become frozen- but that happened a long time ago, right?

Icy Blizzard may have taken advantage of the Windigos and she could be using them to kill anyone that hates winter. But, actually, most people couldn't stand the extreme cold. The train stops moving for some reason as we get closer to the frozen north. "What happened?" Apple Jack asked.

"The extreme cold probably caused that to happen," I replied.

"Or maybe the wheels turned to ice."

We walk out of the train, and the wind is getting stronger. "I'd rather be home than be in the freezing cold," Fluttershy said.

"The snow is ruining my boots," Rarity said.

"Our wings may become frozen any minute," Rainbow Dash said, "If we don't flap them harder."

"Has the frozen north always been this cold?" Apple Jack asked.

"The extreme blizzard could possibly cancel Nightmare Night!" Pinkie Pie said, "That could be the worst possi-"

"Okay! We already know that, Pinkie!" I told Pinkie Pie, "You said that so many times!"

Well, It's my favorite holiday, next to Hearth's Warming Eve."

"I'm afraid that Nightmare Night would have to wait until next year. I know you wanted to portray your favorite character from Frozen so badly, but you've got to have patience!"

My wings stopped moving as they close, and I realize that they're frozen. Rainbow Dash's wings stopped moving too, and she collaspes to the ground. "Why does the north have to be so harsh on us?" She asked.

"Did you see something in the air?" Fluttershy asked as she points at the sky.

We look up, and we notice two figures floating high in the air, but are swirling around. An icy blue aura is following them. "Let's hurry before they attempt to freeze us," I said as we rush towards a structure in the distance.

An hour later, we enter an icy castle, where Icy Blizzard is. Icy Blizzard sits upon the ice throne, and then she notices us. "I thought you would never survive. How can you survive the freezing blizzard?" She asked.

"It's because of the right amount of outerwear," I replied.

"And the right amount of courage," Rainbow Dash said.

"And strength," Apple Jack added in.

"You must be stopped," We said in unison as Icy Blizzard stands up.

"Don't you realize that you have a frozen heart? You became so miserable because nobody likes Winter back then, and that doesn't mean that you should force people into liking the season!" Fluttershy said.

"Do you want to know why nobody likes Winter back then? That's because our ancestors don't have snowball fights or the knowledge to build a snowman back then," Pinkie Pie added in.

"And back then, people would easily get the flu because they wouldn't have the right amount of outerwear!" Rarity said, "One time one of my ancestors died young from the flu!"

"If the cold becomes endless, then there wouldn't be any more crops and people may suffer from malnutrition," Apple Jack said.

"What do you know? Did you come here to once again banish me as Celestia and Luna did to me long ago?! Are you gonna just defeat me by banishing me to a different place?!" Icy Blizzard demanded.

Icy Blizzard's magic spews from her hands as she tries to freeze us. My friends and I evade the attack, and Icy Blizzard seems more frustrated.

My friends and I activate the Elements of Harmony, and a rainbow surrounds the pale woman. "No!" Icy Blizzard shouted.

In her place is a woman that seems to be about a few years older than the Seasonal Sisters. Summer Warmth, Spring Rose, and Autumn Breeze appear next to the woman, seeming stern, yet forgiving.

"Wintry Snowflake, I've missed you so much! I never imagined that Twilight and her friends would release you from Icy Blizzard," Spring Rose said as she hugs Wintry Snowflake.

"I'm so sorry for what happened! And I missed you girls," Wintry Snowflake said.

Summer and Autumn also hugged Wintry Snowflake for a moment. "Twilight, thanks for releasing our sister from Icy Blizzard," Spring Rose said.

"They're sisters?!" Pinkie Pie asked in shock. Her mouth is wide open because she is shocked.

"This reminds me of when Celestia and Luna reunited," Apple Jack said.

"Why do sisterly reunions have to be so touching?" Fluttershy asked, "Sometimes I wish that I have a sister. Some girls are so lucky to have one."

"I normally don't like touching moments, but this one touches my heart," Rainbow Dash said.

"This makes me wish that I have a sister," I said.

"Now, will you reverse the winter and let nature take its course?" Autumn Breeze asked.

"Of course!" Wintry Snowflake said.

"Oh my gosh! Now winter's being reversed! I'm so happy now," Pinkie Pie said, "Although I like winter a bit."

"But not when it's cold enough to freeze everybody," Rarity added in.

Twilight's P.O.V

It's been a week since Wintry Snowflake reversed winter. Nightmare Night is up again, and my friends and I are getting ready for the night. Cadence would be here soon. I change into my costume, and then I walk out of the dressing room. Rarity is done with her makeup. She reminds me of Elsa from Frozen with that makeup.

Pinkie Pie is wearing a costume that is different than her last costume- and it's a dress. Sweetie Belle walks down the stairs, with her hair in pigtails. She is wearing a light blue dress with a belt. Apple Bloom and Scootaloo are waiting at the door. "Maybe we can get our cutie marks in cosplaying," Apple Bloom said.

"Cosplaying?" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo questioned.

"That means when someone is portraying a fictional character from a cartoon, an anime, a manga, a television show, or even a movie." Apple Bloom answered.

Rarity places some eye shadow on my eyelids, and then swishes some pink lip gloss on my lips. "There you go," She said as I get up from the chair.

Fluttershy walks in, wearing a yellow dress.

"Who are you supposed to be?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"I'm going to be portraying my favorite Disney princess tonight. Her name's Belle," She replied.

"Okay. Is Discord going to-"

"No, he's not. he doesn't have a costume."

"But he gets into costumes sometimes- like the time when..."

Apple Jack walks in a minute later, and she hears the conversation. She then gives us a bit of a smirk, and then rolls her eyes a bit. "Oh, you're talking about Discord- the master of chaos," She said, "Rainbow Dash has the same costume, pretty much because she loves to scare others."

We walk out, and the moon is starting to rise. I notice Cadence walking down the street, and I rush to greet her. "Great to see you!" I exclaimed.

"How are you? And you look so pretty," She replied.

"I'm fine. Thanks for the compliment."

"Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake! Clap your hands and do a little shake!" We said in unison.

Cadence smiles as we walk deeper into the town. "I heard that you stopped Icy Blizzard, causing Wintry Snowflake to return," She said.

"You heard? Who told you?" I replied.

"No one told me, but the blizzard almost broke the force field somehow. I've heard more of the story from Celestia."

"But, Celestia is always busy."

"Not always. She once sent me a letter that said something about the winter and Nightmare Night being cancelled."

We giggle for a second, and then we notice Luna in the town square. Some trick-or-treaters are giving her candy, even though she wouldn't eat a whole lot of candy. Rainbow Dash startles Luna with the thunderbolt, and I glare at her. She is laughing mischievously. "Rainbow Dash, it's not funny!" I said.

"Her reaction is priceless," Rainbow replied as she flies off.

"Rainbow does that every Nightmare Night," I told Cadence.

"I bet," She said as she giggles once again.

Apple Bloom's P.O.V

Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and I were singing the "Powerpuff Girls" theme as we run down the street.

"Blossom, the commander and leader," I sang.

"Bubbles, the joy and laughter," Sweetie Belle sang.

"Buttercup, she's the toughest fighter," Scootaloo sang.

"They always save the day! Powerpuff!" We sang in perfect sync.

We may not remember the whole song, but I don't care. A few girls approach us, smiling. "There's more to the theme song than just four lines, but you were awesome with the poses. Will you pose for the pictures?" The blond one said.

"Of course," My friends and I said in unison.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon appear out of nowhere, and they were giving us snide remarks. "You think you can get cutie marks by cosplaying," Diamond remarked, "But you would fail, like always."

"Yeah," Silver Spoon added in, "And you don't remember all the lyrics from the so called theme that comes with that show."

"So? I don't care what you'll say about us! So leave us be," Scootaloo retorted assertively.

As Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon walk away, they use a signature bored yawn. They need to learn to leave us alone.

"Okay, now pose for the pictures. Scootaloo, I suggest that you smirk at Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle, I suggest that you make a sad face. And Apple Bloom, I suggest that you act a bit stern about the teasing," The blond girl said as she holds up her camera.

We pose for the picture, and then the girls walk off.

Rarity's P.O.V

Pinkie Pie and I come across a few teen girls that may be older, like maybe eighteen. "Mind if we take pictures of you making poses?" The redheaded one with pink highlights asked.

"I don't mind," I said.

"I make the silliest faces," Pinkie Pie added in.

The redhead takes a few pictures of us as we pose.

So, the story ends, with a delayed winter in December because Wintry Snowflake feels shame about what she has done in the past. Though her sisters forgive her, the others still don't, because of the really bad blizzard almost freezing the whole world... She longs for forgiveness, and for the people's appreciation of winter... The end.
