Well I thank everyone for the advice of who to cast for this story. I hope everyone will enjoy the first chapter. It may be short because it's the opening of the story. I always loved the opening of this movie (Beauty and the Beast) as it was very well done. So, my inspiration for this chapter will come with that. I know that Spike grows more with his greediness that happened on the show, yet in this story his size will remain the same in a certain light. I hope people will try to enjoy this first chapter and I promise to update whenever I can.

Chapter 1: The Curse

A long time ago, there once lived a prince. Most people wouldn't take this Dragon as a mere prince more than a spoiled brat.

This dragon was named Spike. Even though he could have anything he wanted, Spike still felt unhappy. Some of that unhappiness was due to the disappearance or death of his parent. (A/N I wished this was touched upon as the Disney movie never laborites on this. This is what boggles the mind people.)

Nevertheless, Spike had a cruel and hateful heart inside him. The more hate Spike had, the more emotionless his words were.

One cold night, in which the snow never seemed to stop falling, there was a knock at the door. Spike already irritated by his servants and thus answers the door himself as he glares down looking upon an old hag.

Spike looked down at the old woman who simply smiled at him in which his respond was only a scoff.

"Pleases sir, I mean you no harm. My name is Luna, and I wish to stand in your castle in exchange for shelter from the bitter cold, I offer a single rose" the old woman coughed a little.

"Go away you ugly old hag" Spike repulsed by her ugliness

The knock happened again as Spike angrily opened it looking down at Luna.

Luna told Spike not to be deceived by her ugliness and asked again to stay in the castle. Spike gave her the same answer and slammed the door in her face.

Suddenly, the large doors opened to the old hag floating in the air. Her ugliness melted away to reveal that she was a beautiful enchantress with wings and her dress was a dark side of nighttime.

Spike saw her and begged on his knees "I am sorry, I am really sorry, I didn't know you were beautiful, pleases I can change, just forgive me"

"It is too late Spike. I have seen the wickedness of your heart and that it will not change on its own" Luna cried out as she looked at him.

She tapped him with her wand and thus causing Spike a lot of pain as he looked at her. "Thus I will cast a curse. Upon you, your servants, and your house"

Spike began to morph into a hideous beast; he was merely a bigger dragon with his scales messed up, his green spikes grown small and tall. His tail was larger, his eyes turned red, and his teeth were razor sharp as were his claws and feet.

His servants were transformed into inanimate objects while she changed the happy outlook of the castle into one that was dark and spooky.

Luna looked upon everyone and spoke "I will leave behind two things: one, a mirror that will let you see the outside world"

She crafted a magical handheld mirror with her magic placing it down on the ground while she crafted another object and spoke.

"The other I leave the rose that I was almost willing to give to you" she said placing the enchanted rose inside cover. "This rose will bloom until you are twenty one. If you can love someone and have her love you in return, the spell will be broken. If not, then this curse will remain with you forever"

She disappeared beyond sight as a large boom was heard in the sky.

Spike looked at his servants and growled taking the two items and ran towards his room to be alone.

Spike put the two items down as he torn a piece of a picture of his former self. He was at a loss of what to do.

The days turned into months, the months turned into years as it became clear that the curse would remain on the castle and its inhabitants forever.

This my friends is where our current story begins.

Well this is the end of this chapter. What did you think? I wanted to make it different than the original movie. I assume people that have read this story have seen Beauty and the Beast and My Little Pony. If not, the next chapter will be about Belle. Not sure if I want to include songs in this story. If you have any Beauty and the Beast or MLP stories to recommend to me, then I will read them while making the next chapter.

Chapter 2: Twilight Sparkle

Walking out of her home one morning, Twilight Sparkle was eager to return the book she had borrowed from the book store. Always bright and early, the townsfolk gossiped amongst themselves the odd and strange habits of Twilight and how she was very different from other ponies. Even the stallions were confused by her strange ways.

Humming along, Twilight sat down by a fountain to read her book a little bit more. She gazed around the town that she had recently moved to. She saw everyone doing the same exact thing like if the same day was repeated over and over and over again. The baker delivering his bread to people, a boy chasing another animal he had lost, and even two rascals that cause trouble do the same exact thing. She didn't want to change much of this, but just was looking for something more.

She had arrived at the familiar store with an array of books on each shelf and a smiling old stallion greeted her.

"Why if it isn't Twilight Sparkle, how are you my dear" he smiles weakly as he takes a look at her

"I am doing quite well, Monsieur. I came to return the book" She said floating the book down as she smiles looking at what else to read.

"Wow that was fast" The book keeper laughed

"I know, it was quite interesting and I was so lost in the story that I didn't want it to end" She laughed as she climbed up the ladder "Anything new?"

"No, not really; you've read every since book in this store" The book keeper wasn't sure how to keep up with her curiosity and hunger for knowledge.

"It's ok, I will look at this one" she floated down a purple book with a star on it

"That one, haven't you read this like seven times" The book keeper joked with her

"It's my favorite: Far off places, sword fights, magic, and a prince in disguise" Twilight said overjoyed with the topics she listed.

"He he, if you like it so much you can take it" He smiles as Twilight tried to materialize her pursue the bookkeeper put his hoof on hers

"Take it" he said

"But, I couldn't" she told him

"Take the book, it's yours" The bookkeeper said looking at her

"Why thank you" she hugged him while leaving the store as she was happy that she got a book.

As Twilight left the store and collecting other things on the list her father gave her, two stallions tried to capture the same goose that was falling down to the ground. Both of them crash and argue with one another as one of them got the goose into the bag, while the other race to a dark stallion.

"Wow, that was the seventeenth goose today Sombra" Snips said as he looks at Snails who agrees with him.

"No one can beat you" Snails gleefully said "no girl is able to resist you either"

Sombra stared at both of them and then laughs with pride as he spoke with such arrogant "It's true Snips and Snails. No girl can resist my dashing good looks, and I have my eyes set on that girl"

Sombra pointed at Twilight who was reading her book while Snips and Snails stared at him questioning his taste in a pony like Twilight Sparkle.

"That girl" Snips asked feeling grossed out

"the inventor's daughter" Snails commented feeling disgusted

"Yes, that girl will be the lucky young pony to be blessed of being bethroned to a powerful Stallion like myself. That makes her the best and only I deserve the best, am I right?" Sombra said as he saw his lackeys faces full of disgust. He lifted both of them off the ground and floated them to his face "DON'T I?"

"Ummm, well of course" they both said before Sombra went over to talk to Twilight.

However, multiple stallions and ponies were blocking his way to his destination as Twilight daydreams about a simple life and wanting more for herself.

Sombra gets around the villagers as Twilight turned around as Sombra stared at her giving her a really big grin.

"O hello Sombra" Twilight said

Sombra floated her book out of her sight, Twilight stared at him annoyed as she couldn't help but sigh annoyingly.

"Sombra can I have my book pleases" Twilight asked politely.

"How can you read this, it contains no pictures and it's full of boring and insane ideas" Sombra attempting to look at the book as if it was one big puzzle.

"Some people use a thing called their imaginations" Twilight said trying to face Sombra in hopes to grab her book from him.

"Twil, it's time for you to stop reading these useless things and pay attention to more important matters" Sombra said throwing the book into the ground "Like myself"

Sombra grabbed Twilight and smiles at her "Listen Twilight, you need to stop being strange. It's not right for a pony like you to read. It starts with reading, then you get ideas and then you start thinking. It's not right at all Twilight"

"Well, that is what you think?" Twilight said

"Come on Twilight, Let's go on a date" Sombra steps in front of her

"Stop Sombra, I need to get home to my father" Twilight said "he may need my help with an invention"

"That idiotic doofus, he couldn't even invent a spoon" Snips and Snails laughed as Sombra

"Don't you dare talk about my father that way, he is a brilliant and talented man" Twilight barked at Snips and Snails as suddenly there was a tiny explosion that was seen from afar. Twilight feared the worst and races off to see if her father was still alive while Sombra, Snails, and Snips laughed at Twilight's father who probably failed at another experiment.

Well here is the end of the chapter what do you think. I needed to shorten it up for the next chapter. I hope everyone likes it. I will try to think of more things for the next chapter. For now, I have a lot of things to deal with and I promise to update real soon. Well, take care and have a good day.

Hopefully, you will all like this chapter, as I tried to make up a little bit that wasn't in the movie. Ok, before everyone starts to attack me, I need to tell you a change in casting. I had said in the casting chapter that Celestia would be Twilight's father when I am changing it to Twilight's father. I know it sounds confusing, but I wanted to let everyone know this before I begin the chapter.

Vhdc: I am doing it off of the Disney movie, as that is what I am familiar with. I haven't seen the play at all. BTW, thanks for the vote of Luna being the Enchantress.

Chapter 3: The Belly of the Beast

"Dad, Dad" shouted Twilight racing inside to see the fate of her father.

She opened up the wooden doors of the basement as smoked rose from the only exit it could find. Unfortunately, this made Twilight coughed a little bit as she waits until there is less to see to her father.

"Dad, where are you" Twilight said searching in the basement

"I am right here Twilight, no need to shout" her father spoke rising from the scrap metal that surrounded him.

"Papa, are you okay" Twilight said worrying about his wellbeing.

"Yes, yes, it was just another failure again" He coughed looking at her blowing away whatever smoke surrounded the area around them.

"I know you can do your best to impress those snobs at that invention convention" Twilight gave him a supportive smile

"You really mean it" Mr. Sparkle said

"I know so" Twilight smiled back.

"Well, I should get back to work then" Mr. Sparkle chuckled along as Twilight walked upstairs smiling at her father's happiness.

As Twilight reached the top of the steps she looked upon a picture, she has not seen in ages. The photo was taken a couple of years ago, when she was just a foal. She looked at the picture of her mother and father at a happy time in their lives.

A drop from Twilight's eye hit where her mother was and Twilight sighed as she rubbed her face a little bit. She put the picture back among the others that were there. She glided herself upstairs to take a nap for a little bit.

Twilight hummed along as she was making dinner for her father as usual. She was making a stew that would brighten up his health.

Suddenly, she heard a scream from downstairs. Worrying for his safety, Twilight raced downstairs in order to see the current condition of her father; fearing the worst of possibly anything.

Instead of finding her father on the floor, Mr. Sparkle was jumping for joy as if he was a child around Christmas time.

"Yes, yes it's works it actually works" He said lifting up his daughter with his hooves for a few seconds before putting her down

"Are you serious?" Twilight smiled with her father as she showed her his invention of a machine that could cut up wood.

"Yes, it finally works" He smiled as he looked upon his daughter and hugged her some more.

Twilight gave him a smile as she was glad, he was happy.

"Well honey, I have everything I need for the convention" Mr. Sparkle smiled as he looked at his daughter

"Are you sure, dad?" His daughter questioned him

"Yes, yes. Food, a map, and umm" He said to himself

"Your invention" His daughter told him

"Ah yes, that's it" He chuckled as his age was getting to him "Well, I must be on my way"

Mr. Sparkle picked up his wheelbarrow to carry his invention with him. He began to march off into the forest in order to march on his way to the convention.

Twilight waved goodbye to her father, yet felt something was very wrong as well. However, she had ways of occupying her time while he was gone.

Hours had pasted Mr. Sparkle's journey to the convention and he was already lost. Looking in the forest to find his way, Mr. Sparkle could tell that his sense of direction was terrible. He wasn't sure if he had been walking in circles.

He sighed wondering if he should turn back home. His stomach was growling like a bear, his hooves were shaking from the journey and it felt like it was a winter wonderland in the forest.

He began to race down the past on the right as suddenly heard what he made out to be howling.

Suddenly, the wolves appeared right out of nowhere as they were growling at him with such wicked intentions. Mr. Sparkle was shivering at first but decided to race down the path, hoping to lose his predators that were seeking to have him as lunch.

The wolves began to give chase as Mr. Sparkle was running for his life. He was after that his legs would give way and the wolves would have the taste of an elder stallion. He wasn't as young as he uses to be, he thought as he didn't realize that he was losing grip of his invention. He was losing hope until he saw a light at the end of the forest.

What almost stopped him in his tracks was the large castle that was in front of him. The castle almost looked abandon as he looks at the wolves that were closing up to him. He smiled seeing the gate was slightly opened.

Without any other choice, he opened his mouth to let go of his invention, and with a boost of speed, Mr. Sparkle slipped in the gate.

"Hello, is anyone here" Mr. Sparkle asked as he entered in the castle.

He heard no reply as it seemed torn with claw markings and the stones didn't look so well.

"Umm, I need to seek shelter from the bitter cold and I have lost my way in the forest. I was hoping that if anyone could hear me, you can let me stay here. At least for a night or two" Mr. Sparkle tried to look around for anyone that could hear him.

He had walked past a table that held a blue candle and a white clock. Both the clock and the candle opened their eyes to look upon the stranger.

"Why, look at him, he looks so cold" the blue candle spoke out

"Rainbow Dash, don't you dare tell him" The white clock glared at the candle

"Don't be so uptight Rarity, just look at him" Rainbow dash smirked as she smiled as she said aloud "Of course, you are welcome here sure, you are our guest"

Rarity tried to cover Rainbow's mouth, only for her to retaliate by putting one of her hands on Rarity's, thus causing her to yelp in pain.

Mr. Sparkle looked around as he grabbed the candle from the table, only to realize that it was staring back at him "Hello"

He dropped the candle down as it wasn't quite normal to see candles talking to him, nor enchanted ones at that. From his left, he saw the white clock drop down to walk towards the candle.

"See, now look what you did, he has to leave this place. The master would not like it at all" Rarity glared at Rainbow Dash.

"Relax, jack in the box" She looked at Mr. Sparkle escorting him to a small room, to relax himself in. Rarity chased after them in hopes that the master doesn't find the stallion in the castle. Unknown to them, a pair of green glaring eyes were gazing at them and with a snap, they vanished.

"Come, sit down and relax yourself" Rainbow Dash smiled allowing Mr. Sparkle to sit down on the chair near the recently lit fireplace.

"No no, not on the master's chair" Rarity feared for the worst.

"How do you like some tea" Rainbow Dash said whistling in a tea cart before Mr. Sparkle could give a reply

Mr. Sparkle looked to his right when he saw a cart that had a small cup with a large teapot. The teapot smiled as she poured the contends inside herself and smiled.

"Why, hello there, I recken you must be tired and cold from your journey. Here, have a spot of tea" the orange teapot smiled allowing the yellow cup to appear in front of him. Along the way, a pink foot rest jumped around and lifted up his feet to relax.

"Umm, hello there" the yellow cup shyly said

"O why hello" Mr. Sparkle smiled as he drank from it and smiles.

The happiness would not last though, as a clash of thunder could be heard as the doors were forcely open seeing the glare of green eye extinguished all flames that were present in the room, except for Rainbow Dash.

"Uh oh" The yellow cup hid from sight behind the orange teapot.

"There is a stranger in this castle" The Dragon glared looking around.

"Pardon me, master. But, the stranger was cold and hungry and we couldn't leave him out there alone" Rainbow Dash said before Spike roared her flames out.

"I tried to tell them, but they wouldn't listen to me, o pleases be reasonable" Rarity spoke out before Spike roared in her face as well.

Mr. Sparkle looked around hoping the dragon would not find him. His fears were short lived as he looked on the other side to find him glaring at him.

"What are you doing here" Spike glared

"I was lost and it was cold" Mr. Sparkle fell out of the chair trying to run for it, but Spike was much faster.

"What are you looking at" Spike growled moving in front of him

"no, nothing" Mr. Sparkle's pulse was going up fearing Spike's appearance

"So, you have come to make fun and stare at me, have you" Spike continues to frighten Mr. Sparkle.

"No, no I just needed a place to stay" Mr. Sparkle said

"O, I will give you a place to stay" Spike spoke out grabbing Mr. Sparkle before exiting the room as Apple Jack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity was in fear of what their master may do to the stranger/prisoner.

Well, boys and girls. So, ends chapter 3. I hope you all have liked it. I wanted this chapter to end when the Beast takes him away. I am sure glad I made Spike the Beast in this story. Sorry, if the title isn't too creative enough for everyone, but beggars can't be choosers.

Hey again, Well here's chapter four of my Little Pony and Disney crossover story. I see people are rather enjoying it. I hope you enjoy the story as well. I have been reading Disney Fanatic 2364's Bride of Discord story and it's quite an interesting story. I am a big fan of that writer and I suggest to some people reading that story as well as this one. Anyways, sorry for getting off topic, time for chapter four;

TheGreatGodzilla: Well I am not much of a Spike/Rarity fan. Maybe a fanfic or a challenge from a person one day would change my mind. But, I thought Rarity was more of Cogsworth than Belle. So, it came down to Twilight as she is a book worm like Belle and their personalities are similar and that they are both princess. I know kind of shocking myself.

Chapter 4: The Trade

"Won't she get the surprise of her life" Snips and Snails snickered as Sombra lifted his hoof from the branch

"I want to thank everyone for coming to this wedding. I know I am excited myself. Well, I better march in there and propose to her" He added "You two know what to do"

"Yes sir" they both added

Twilight had spent the morning doing most of her chores as she had sat down reading her book to take a break. Suddenly came several hard knocks at the door.

Twilight used her father's door checker to see who was out front. She was disgusted seeing the dark stallion admiring himself, Twilight let him in anyways as she didn't want to be rude; although, his persistency would tell her otherwise.

"Sombra, what a nice surprise" Twilight sarcastically said

"Yes, it is Twily" Sombra smirked

"What do I owe the pleasure" Twilight ignored his nickname for her

"Twily, today is the day" Sombra looked at himself in her mirror "Today, is the day your dreams come true"

"What do you know of my dreams" Twilight questioned Sombra's intentions

"Plenty. Think of this Twily. A cabin with all my latest hunts on the wall with fine craftsponyship, The home warm and cool like a warm summer day, the little brats playing on the floor, and my wife massaging my hooves" Sombra smiled about that fantasy coming true if Twilight says yes

"Do you know who that wife will be" Sombra began to walk towards his future wife in such a way

"Should I even ask" Twilight worried

"You, if you will say yes" Sombra smirked more

"My my Sombra, I am bewitched" Twilight looked at Sombra

"Then, say yes" Sombra blocked Twilight's way with two of his hooves to keep her from leaving his gaze

"I don't think I deserve you" Twilight pressed a button to make the door open up and sending Sombra flying toward a pool of mud.

Band music started to play as Sombra rose from the mud with such anger.

"So, how did it go boss" Snips and Snails moved toward their boss when he had thrown them both into the mud as he steps out of it.

"I will have Twilight Sparkle as my wife, one way or another" Sombra growled

Twilight stepped outside slowly as she smiled.

Thank goodness, he is gone.

She resumed her chores as she shook her head "Really, he asked me to marry him. The nerve of that obnoxious barbarian, miss Twilight Sombra; how disgusting!"

Twilight didn't see herself as a wife to someone such as Sombra. She wanted a stallion who shares common interests with her. She also wanted more out of her life as she stared out at the water. She closed her eyes feeling the wind flowing down through her face and body. She just wanted a chance to have a better life for her and her family.

"I want someone to understand, that I want more than what I have got here" Twilight softly sang as suddenly something came out of the woods.

She saw it wheel down as she knew it to be her father's invention.

"But, what are you doing here? Where's my father" She looked around and felt the instrument.

Much like her father before her, Twilight had arrived at the black gates of the large castle. She had a feeling he was in there somewhere suffering from being cold and sick. She couldn't let anything happen to her father. She already lost her mother, and wasn't going to let her father share the same fate.

"You had to let him stay didn't you; let him sit in the chair you said. Pet the pooch" Rarity rambled on and on as Rainbow couldn't take it.

"Well, you were the one that wanted to leave him out in the cold. Who's the villain now" Rainbow Dash looked coldly at Rarity

"It's not like our hopes can be solved by one pony walking through the door" Rarity said

"Hello, is anyone here" Twilight spoke up as she entered through the doors

(A/N I seriously love those moments when people speak of something that happens right after they say it. I wish that could happen in real life. A man can dream)

Both Rarity and Rainbow Dash were talking about Rainbow's attempt to being a host. Suddenly, they heard the voice of Twilight. Breaking of their argument, they stared at the purple pony walking down the halls.

"Do you see that? Do you see that?" Rainbow Dash chuckled

"I know I know it's a pony" Rarity said

"She must be the pony to break the spell" Rainbow cheered as she chased after the girl.

"Wait, wait a minute Rainbow" Rarity chased after her impulsive friend

Twilight continued to search for her father, until she found a door mysteriously opened itself as she felt someone had walked inside there.

Twilight stepped in slowly wondering if the present was still around.

"Hello, is anyone here" she spoke softly

Twilight managed to get herself upstairs as she saw a room with multiple doors to them.

"Hello" Twilight spoke up looking around

"Twilight" a voice called from inside the door

"Papa" Twilight ran toward the door kneeling down seeing her father, who was looking rather weak and sick. Twilight felt his hoof with her own; they were as cold as ice.

"What's wrong, who has done this to you" Twilight asked him

"No time for that, you must leave here and save yourself" Her father shouted, however it was too late.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE" A voice had distracted her as Twilight looked around for the source of that voice

"Who's there, who are you" Twilight tried to focus her eyes around her surroundings, but it was too dark to see another, just the glimmer of light that shot down from the ceiling.

"The master of this castle" The creature announced as Twilight could judge from the change of winds that the creature kept moving from one place to the other, making sure he didn't hit the light that Twilight was near.

"Please, I only came here because of my father. Can't you see, he's sick, tired, hungry and he might die" Twilight pleaded with the dark being

"Then he shouldn't have trespassed here" The creature roared as he hid behind a stone pillar with his arms crossed

"Pleases, there has to be some way. Can you can find the heart to forgive him?" Twilight lifted her hoof hoping to make peace with the creature

"There is nothing you can possibly do or offer me to change my mind. If you have no further business with me, then leave this place or I will force you to leave" the creature said before walked out to leave the dungeon.

Twilight looked at the shadow of the creature trying to leave. She then looked at her father, concerned for his safety and health. She knew what had to be done, if there was any hope upon saving her own family.

"Wait" She halted the creature "Take me instead"

"You, that's a laugh" the creature spoke as he was suddenly halted by the shear selflessness and sacrifice that the young mare was about to make. "You would do that"

"TWILIGHT NO" Twilight father gasped "You don't know what you are getting yourself into"

"If I did, would you let him go" Twilight ignored her father's pleas

"Yes, but only if you stay here forever" The creature told her

Twilight looked at her father, yet she was curious about his captor. What was he? Was he a stallion, or was he something else entirely? "Come into the light"

The creature did as what she told him. As the more she looked at the creature the more she realized the gravity of what she was getting herself into. Before her eyes lied the purple and green dragon. Twilight gasped and her back was toward her father's prison door.

"No Twilight, you can't do this, I have lost your mother I am not losing you" Twilight father tried to grab his daughter, but his speed was no match for her upon walking towards the light viewing the dragon's sinister eyes.

"Yes" Twilight closed her eyes accepting her fate

"Then it is done" Spike told her as he opened the door to the prison containing her father.

"Twilight, no no no no, pleases reconsider. I am not letting you live with such a burden" Her father said before being dragged off by the dragon

"Wait" Twilight tried to stop the dragon from taking her father away

Spike had thrown Twilight's father upon one of his mobile servants, to make sure he got back to the village. Spike had returned to the dungeon seeing Twilight crying as she watched her father leave the castle without saying goodbye. She turned to the cold-hearted dragon

"You didn't even let me say goodbye" Twilight sobbed "I will never see him again"

Spike started to feel a sense of remorse as he looked at the young mare, who was now his prisoner. "Let me show you to your room"

"But, I thought…" Twilight looked up in tears

"Would you rather spend a lifetime in this dungeon" Spike told her

"No" Twilight told him

"Then come with me" Spike let his new prisoner out of the dungeon

Well, I think this is a good stopping point for the chapter. I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter. The dungeon scene from the movie was one of the reasons; I liked this movie so much. I didn't think of it at first, but it came naturally when I was older. If anyone could just promise me one thing, never stop writing fanfic. Never stop expanding your minds. Twilight and the Spike Author's Note

Hello everypony. Thanks for your comments on the last chapter. So, upon further seeing the last comment and the fact that no one knows why Twilight is Belle instead of Rarity. I thought I would explain my reasoning here instead of producing another chapter. Don't worry thought; the chapter will still be made. I am just going to post this note before I post the chapter up.

Author's Note

Well, to me, Rarity is one of my least favorite ponies of the mane six. However, it doesn't mean I hate her. I understand her character and why she acts like the way she does. I felt Belle and Twilight shared more similarities than Rarity. Then, I noticed how Rarity would be more like Cogsworth than Belle herself. Also, I don't really ship Rarity and Spike for the fact that I think that she is taking advantage of him. Their relationship is more like the kindergartner having a crush on his or her teacher. It's not going to last that long and eventual Spike will move on from his crush. It's just the matter of who that pony, dragon or female that will be.

If people think that Twlight and Belle don't have any similarities, then I can correct everyone here. Both characters love reading books. Both of them are princesses, no brainier but hey. Both of them are not sociable characters. That should be enough to convince you guys that these two characters are similar.

Now, I am not one who ships Spike/Twilight together due to the fact that they share a bond that is much more like family members than a romantic interest. However, I felt they would be much suited to these characters. This was before I liked Fluttercord.

Again, I am very sorry for everyone hoping to look in a future chapter for this fanfic. I promise to have one up soon. I just needed to clarify more on why Twilight is Belle and no pony else. I am also not sure if I am going to do every song that the movie has. The only exception I will make is a Tale as Old as Time song. I hope people will enjoy this story and not harp on it too much.

I am so glad people are reading more and more of this fanfic. Sorry for the delays, been very busy. Here is chapter five of Twlight and the Spike.

Chapter 5: Twilight and Spike

Through the past years, there hasn't been much of a noise inside the castle. However, this was soon changed. The claw steps and hoof marks were of a purple and green scaled dragon of nine feet tall, and his pony prisoner, who only stood six feet tall. The dragon held a blue candle by the name of Rainbow Dash. The Dragon called Spike was leading his prisoner up to her room. This prisoner being the purple unicorn named Twilight Sparkle.

Spike had decided upon himself to place Twilight in one of his rooms as he didn't feel like keeping her in those dungeon rooms. Even he doesn't know why he did it, he just did.

Both Spike and Rainbow Dash noticed Twilight's lack of words. They both knew that she didn't get to say goodbye to her father, and thus felt Twilight's sadness for leaving him alone for she has been his prisoner.

Spike didn't want to say anything at first. Rainbow was giving Spike a stern look, which forced him to say words to his prisoner.

"I hope you like it here. I know it's not much, but you will grow to appreciate this" Spike said lowering his chances of the purple mare finding happiness in such a sad place.

They approached her room with great speed as Spike looked down at her. She had turned to look back at him. The hurt in her eyes made it seem like she was a wounded woodland creature.

This made Spike to think Stop looking at me like that.

Spike tried to say something to break down the situation, but only growled "You WILL join me for dinner"

The door slammed as Twilight felt a hint of fear upon realizing she was being forced to eat with him.

Twilight found herself in her room as she was wondering what was going on. She knew she was in the same room that she has been in for the last few hours, but it felt much older, more to her liking. She wonders if he changed her room while she slept.

The door opened as she found a being that was very familiar to her. It was Spike. However, he didn't seem like the scary dragon at all. He was much smaller and thinner.. He had much rounder green barbs from behind his back. His eyes were more welcoming than fearful. What a smile he carried as they were smiling at her. She hid under the covers fearing that she would be eaten by him.

"Twilight honey what's wrong. I heard you screaming" Spike spoke of great concern

He wasn't yelling, or eating her or hit her for that matter, what was up with this dragon? She uncovered the blanket slightly with her hooves wondering where the dragon went.

"Are you ok Twily" Spike smiled appearing next to the mare, who just freaked out and fell to the floor "O I am so sorry, I should have realized that you don't like being surprised. I am such a clumsy dragon"

His words were comforting and interesting. Twilight saw how the dragon held her hooves making sure she was alright. This dragon was acting too differently than the dragon she has encountered. Twilight smiled giving into the dream.

"I am alright, you just surprised me. Ummm I think I sort of bumped my head when I feel down. What exactly is our relationship" Despite not knowing her dashing hero, he was a stranger to her.

"Well, at first, I wanted to contain you, but we became so much more and soon released spark between us that developed into an everlasting love" Spike smiled closer at Twilight, who was blushing after hearing his words. They sounded like silk as Twilight was lost in those words.

"Twilight, ummm Twilight" Spike smiled as he snaps his fingers in order to make the mare recover from her daydream.

"Umm what I am so sorry" Twilight felt horrible for ignoring him, he must hate that about her.

"Like I said, we have been going out for a very long time and I had a very important question to ask you" Spike kneeled down as Twilight knew this position of his body too well. She heard stories of how ponies, dragons, or any other creature did this for when they wanted to be married to them forever and ever. She saw him taking her hoof and pulls it to his hand andpulled out a sparkly golden ring from his hand. Spike couldn't help but feeling joyful upon asking his question.

"Will you marry me" Spike smiled

"Wha….What" Twilight was frozen by his question

"Will you marry me" Spike smiled more

"I..I…I…ummm. I…"Twilight kept telling him.

Returning to her body during her dream, Twilight had fallen asleep and was dreaming of something she never dreamt before. Twilight was about to answer the dragon's question in the dream, but real life complications had woke her up; something like a fall to the ground after slipping off the bed.

"Ow, that hurt" Twilight rubbed her shoulder with her hoof. She was mad that her dream was interrupted. She was about to get up from the floor when the door to her room opened up. She saw the white clock known as Rarity was greeting her.

"Dinner is served Miss Sparkle" Rarity announced

"Where is she, she was suppose to be here for dinner right now" Spike paced himself around looking at the time and shook his head.

It had been thirty minutes since dinner was made and the unicorn wasn't at dinner. Spike began to grind his teeth while Rainbow Dash and Applejack looked at one another.

"You have to realize sugarcube, is that these things take time" Applejack exclaimed "She has lost more than one thing tonight"

"Yea, you can't expect her to be leaping for joy" Rainbow Dash added

"Well if she doesn't come soon, I will…"Spike said before something interrupted them.

The door opened to show the white clock. Spike had hoped Twilight would make an appearance.

Spike looks down at her "Well?"

"Well umm the the girl is ummmm. I mean the girl is momentarily coming…." Rarity felt very nervous upon telling everyone "Well she is getting ready too….."

After a few minutes of Rarity acting nervous, the glares from Spike made her defeated

"She's not coming"

"WHAT" Spike roared as he burst through the doors of the dining hall. His servants try to chase after him, but he was in full pursuit of Twilight's room. He couldn't have been any anger than right now.

He slid down the hallway and started to bang on Twilight's door.

"I thought I told you to come down for dinner" Spike roar

"I told Rarity that I wasn't coming" Twilight shouted through the door

"You let me in or I will burn this door" Spike shouted back

"And destroy your precious castle, o pleases" Twilight called back making Spike very angry

Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Applejack arrived to look at their master as he was almost going to burn down that door.

"Umm Master, I am sure yelling at her is not the best way to win her heart" Rainbow Dash smiled

"Pleases try to be civil" Rarity begged

"But she is being a pain in my…" Spike glared at the door "Rear"

"Civil" Rarity begged more

"Will you join me for dinner, PLEASE" Spike said as he said the last words very painfully

"No, Thank you" Twilight told him

Spike looked at his servants for advice on this. Applejack stepped up towards him.

"Be a gentle dragon" Applejack smiled

"It would be my honor to be graced with your present, for dinner. If you would please come out and come down with me" Spike painfully said as his kindness was hurting him.

Twilight opened the door looking up at the dragon, then at the servants. She looked back to Spike.

"No thank you" She slammed the door making Spike roar in rage.

"She does not eat at all until she decides to eat with me" Spike gazed at his servants as those were his orders. He then flew to the other side of the castle.

"Eat with him? Who does that dragon thinks he is fooling" Twilight pranced around the room. She couldn't believe that dragon wanted her to eat with him.

A knock came at the door in the form of an orange teapot. Twilight closed the door seeing the orange teapot brought some food for the mare to consume in secret.

"Thank you miss…" Twilight spoke

"I couldn't let you just starve sugarcube, and it's Applejack" Applejack smiled at Twilight.

"Thank you again Applejack" Twilight started to eat some toast as she looked out at the window.

"It was a very brave thing you did back there. Taking your father's place" Applejack remarked

"Yea" Twilight looked down in sadness.

"I know what you may think of him" Applejack said "You are wrong about him. He isn't as bad as you would think"

"Not as bad" Twilight glared at Applejack "He is a terrible, rude, snobby, and horrible dragon. He nearly killed my father, made me his prisoner, even tried to force me to eat with him; you say he isn't as bad as I would think"

Applejack couldn't help but see how much in pain Twilight was and the sadness that she was going through. "There was once a time, where the master was really happy"

This stopped Twilight's tears to hear about Applejacks's story.

"It was a long time ago, when the master's parent were still living. They ruled over the land with grace and pride. The castle has seen better days; laughter lasting all day and all night. Parties of all sorts were carried here. Ponies, stallions, and creatures of all sorts including dragons danced with one another. However, soon those days grew darker as the King and Queen grew very ill. We don't know from what, but it was hurting them from the inside. Dragons are unusual creatures and there was nothing that we could do to prevent their immediate demise. The master had cried for weeks on end. We tried to help him move on, but Spike wouldn't have any of it" Applejack looked down remembering those times.

"We had hoped the master would shine through their deaths and be the ruler than they would have wanted him to be. We were very wrong. Through their deaths he became selfish, cruel, and spoiled. Each day he grew bitter, became nastier and scary. There was nothing that remained of the old master. Those days were gone" Applejack told Twilight

Unknown to the two, Spike was looking out through his mirror seeing Applejack talking to Twilight as he was eating his dinner. He chomped violently seeing Twilight in tears due to Spike keeping her there.

"That mare should be grateful that I took her offer instead of just eating the both of them" Spike got up "But, why did she do that?"

Spike began to sit down and think about Twilight's noble sacrifice. Why would she do such a thing? She would have lived longer and had a life to herself.

He looked up seeing the torn portrait of himself; he then looked to the right seeing the portrait of his parent. He walked towards it.

What would you two have done?

He paced around looking at the rose, which had lost another petal.

"Darn I am running out of time, if I can't find a way to reverse it soon. We will all be like this" Spike looked at his mirror.

"Show me the mare" Spike shouted as the mirror showed Twilight crying on her bed. Applejack was trying to reason with her.

"Pleases, try to understand Twilight, Spike isn't as bad as you would think"

"He is a monster; I am just a prisoner that he hasn't eaten yet"

Spike looked at himself as he saw his body grow a little more. He knew that Twilight wouldn't be the mare that would grow to love him and break this curse. That was the reality that he was facing.

"She will never see me more than what she fears me to be; a monster." Spike said looking at himself.

Well, I think this chapter went well a little bit. So, what does everyone think? Sorry if I didn't include Be Our Guest. This fanfic wouldn't have too many songs from the movie with the exception of one song. I feel like the story won't be a story without it. So, I hope you enjoy this little chapter. Chapter 6: Hesitation

Twilight began to look at herself in the mirror. She looked like a real mess. Her mane was suffering from sleeping too much, her stomach growled and the fact that the dragon that captured her was still in her mind.

In reality, he was a fearful beast that kept her prison and wouldn't let her go free, no matter how much she tried to escape. He was rude, inconsiderate, and very bossy. Yet, she could tell that he was probably watching her and if she ever made an attempt to leave her room, he would try to scare her into going back into her room. There were times where Spike tried to demand Twilight to eat with him, but her response was still no.

But, within her dreams, he was completely different.

He had been kind, sincere, adventurous, sweet, and sweep her off her hooves. She was confused by this. From what he told, she eventually found her way into his heart and he had made many sacrifices to ensure she was very happy. Her father was there supporting the two lovebirds, the villagers were in awe, and Twilight had never felt such happiness in her heart. She only read this in books about romance. Yet, her dream held her own storybook ending.

Within the confides of the castle within the dream, Spike had shown her many wonders. From the dining hall to the balcony that oversaw the whole land, Twilight was awestruck by Spike's open heart. She shared things that she never shared before, and he told her things that Twilight never thought Spike would share with her.

The best part of her dreams was when Spike would kneel down on his knees and propose to her. He was very different as he was shorter, his scales weren't in disorder, his wings were average size, and his smile simply melted the unicorn's whole body. Her answer was always yes. She loved the sweet bliss of her dreams. She loved the way that the dragon treated her. It was like all of her wishes had come true. A being that understood her, a creature that showed her love and she loved him in return, and some dragon that was completely unlike the rest of what society had to offer. In short, she was in love with him.

However, reality kept crashing down as she woke up in her room again. Twilight groaned as she wanted her dreams to be a reality. She didn't want to be captured by him, yet she made a deal to stay with him forever. It wasn't something she could easily undo. She had to buy herself some time, maybe Spike would change his mind and free her someday. However, his anger always got the best of him; she would probably be an old mare by that time.

"You know that was going against his orders" Rarity glared at Applejack for feeding Twilight

"I wasn't going to let the poor mare starve" Applejack announced

"Well, he is going to find out that she has been eating without him, and he isn't going to be very happy" Rarity worried

"O let him throw his hissy fit. He knows as well as we do that the spell can't work if Twilight hates him" Applejack answered

"I have to agree with Applejack on this one" Rainbow Dash said "It would be rude of us, if Twilight didn't have anything to eat. Spike was allowed a little food for himself, why can't Twilight"

"Spike is the master of the castle, he gets special treatment" Rarity looked at both of her companies

Suddenly, a pink leg comforter ran into the room barking around the trio in a jumping rush.

"Pinkie Pie, Pinkie Pie calm down" Rarity ordered

"SIT" Applejack yelled

Pinkie Pie did what she was instructed to do as she lacked a voice, but made dog sounds as it was the only sounds she could make in her current form.

"Tell us what is going on" Applejack asked Pinkie as the news Pinkie Pie had brought wasn't very good news.

Twilight was looking around the castle. Despite the darkness of the place, she found the architect to be very beautiful. She looked at all of the dragon statues as she felt something was off about it. She ignored it as she saw a flight of stairs that Spike told her never to enter.

The purple unicorn wondered what that dragon was keeping from her. She was about to place her hoof on the first step when Rarity and Rainbow Dash blocked her path.

"It is good to see you are awake my dear" Rarity gulped

"Yes, what's up there" Twilight smiled

"O nothing; nothing at all" Rainbow Dash lied

"O really" Twilight seeing through Rainbow's deceit "Then you don't mind if I have a peek"

"Umm it's nothing at all worth mentioning, it's just the master's chamber. You wouldn't want to go in there. It's dreadful, hazardous, and full of foul odors" Rarity hoped Twilight would buy that lie.

"I see" Twilight gazed upon to where the stair cases end

"We umm have a library" Rarity continued as she hoped that Twilight would be interested in books seeing that Twilight was reading one earlier.

"Really" This made Twilight smile with excitement

"Yes, with a room full of books" Rainbow dash joined in on Rarity's scheme

Both Rarity and Rainbow Dash came from the steps and started to walk to the library hoping Twilight was behind them.

Twilight did enjoy books, yet it was her curiosity of the unknown that made her journey to Spike's chambers to see what the room was like.

Creak…..

Twilight opened the door to Spike's room as she saw what was unexpected. It was ripped apart as if a room of lions had destroyed the room bit by bit. Twilight's eagerness to explore the contends of his room lingered forward as she looked at all of the parts to his room.

What made Twilight stop her movements were two photos that stood in the room? First she saw the picture of the baby prince with two figures. She guessed based on the happiness of the three dragons that the two larger ones were Spike's parents. She saw the larger picture in shreds but tried to see what it was of. It looked like a dragon, yet it was too torn up by the claws of Spike to tell what it actually was.

Twilight was about to leave the room when a flash of a pink light diverted her from her path. Twilight looked back to see the source of what was blinding her so fiercely.

It was a single rose. It was so pretty and beautiful. Twilight's hoovesteps was heading towards the rose that was kept in a glass jar. Out of all of the things in this castle, this was the one sight that Twilight had ever seen.

Why would Spike keep such a thing Twilight thought heading towards it. She saw a dragon-held mirror next to the glass, but ignored it.

Twilight knew her hooves would only break the glass, so she used her magic to remove it and softly put it down on the ground. She smiled as she wanted to touch the rose to feel how real it was. It looked like a magic rose. A simple touch would be enough for her.

However the claw of the purple dragon stopped her in her tracks as the glass was put back in its proper place. She saw the dragon's face closer to hers, however it wasn't of love or affection, it was of deep hatred and fear.

"What do you think you are doing" Spike roared

"I was just" Twilight said

"Do you realize what you could have done" Spike interrupted the unicorn

"GET OUT" He continued as Twilight did as he had instructed and fled the castle without a moment of hesitation

Using her speed, Twilight was sure to move far away from the castle as she could. Her goal was to go home and never return to that castle again. She felt sorry for the friends that she made in the castle halls. She hoped Spike would have been kinder like in her dreams, but he showed no signs of changing whatsoever.

However, the young mare would soon discover that she was not alone. Her tracks were in pursuit by the creatures that lived in the dragon's woods. Some were even the very trees themselves. Twilight soon found herself face to face with beings called Timber wolves. This made her run faster. She wasn't about to become some wolves' lunch. She used her magic to destroy one of them that stood in her way.

She had been exhausted due to the fact that she had run such a long distance. Added on to the fact she kept using her horn to dispatch the Timber Wolves from chasing her, yet they were in hot pursuit.

She was a goner. No only was there a cliff with a long way down, but the Timber wolves had caught up to her in great numbers, there was no chance for her to escape. It was either fall to certain doom or be eaten by the wolves made of timber.

She closed her eyes and waited for her doom, yet this wasn't the case for she saw a being rolling into a ball out of the sky as Twilight wasn't sure who it was. The being had made the Timberwolves shatter and scatter as the impact of the being had caused Twilight to slip off, but its tail grabbed the young unicorn and tossed her over to where there was land. The Timber wolves turned to see the being was the great dragon Spike. Twilight was in fear but saw that Spike wasn't mad at her; he was glaring at the Timberwolves

"She is mine" He glared before inhaling for a few seconds and exhaling his green fire to burn the timber wolves as fire wasn't their greatest strong suit.

Spike was tackled by a couple of Timberwolves as Twilight was amazed by his bravery. However, the growing fear of him becoming worse than the wolves appeared in her mind. This thought made her try to go back to her village. Yet, a large Timberwolve stood in her way as he wanted her all to himself. However, Spike got there just in time before Twilight would become lunch. Spike had burned most of the wolves to the ground while some of them fled into the forest.

Spike saw Twilight as his breathing became irregular due to his injuries and fell into the snow. Twilight held a chance of escaping Spike the dragon. She was about to leave his side. She could have run home, she could have never seen him again, she could have been safe. Yet, she looked back to the dragon that was currently being buried by the snow.

He could have eaten her in the middle of the night, he could have burn her to a crisp, and he could have locked her in the dungeon. Why didn't he? Twilight moved back to him as Spike in his usual rage wasn't capable of such an act. Was this the sign she was looking for; could Spike be the special some dragon of her dreams?

She lifted the dragon up with her magic as she looked down her tracks and decided to journey with the dragon back to the castle.

A few hours went by since Twilight took Spike back to the castle. She had gotten her rest and was ready to work on Spike's injuries as his was more painful than hers. She put her hair in a ponytail and stuck her tongue out to concentrate on fixing Spike.

When the dragon awoke, she was almost done. She floated a hot cloth near his arm.

"Hey watch it" He spoke trying to avoid the hot cloth

"Will you hold still" Twilight responded as he kept moving to avoid the cloth she was trying to put on him, but it connected when Spike moved.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" He screamed in pain

"I told you it would hurt if you moved" Twilight spoke as she applied it

"Are you trying to kill me you crazy unicorn" Spike spoke

"Are you always this reckless, you stubborn dragon" Twilight retorted

Both of them shouted remarks to the other making them both frustrated. Spike had growled at her.

"O growl yourself" She growled back

"Why did you even save me anyways? Not like you cared. The only thing that matters to you is that you could go home" Spike demanded

"Well, I promised you that I would stay with you forever. I just couldn't….couldn't….couldn't" She said before yelling out "I just couldn't let you just die out there"

Spike and Twilight were both surprised by Twilight's words that meant so much more than what was intended. Spike and Twilight both didn't understand their current emotions and why they did the things that they did for one another.

Spike held out his arm to have Twilight heal it some more.

What they didn't know was that day changed the way they viewed one another forever.

Well, I think I will leave this chapter on that note. So what did you think of the current chapter. I happened to like the second half of the chapter as I felt my favorite part to write was Twilight's hesitation upon leaving Spike in the snow. I felt that Twilight would have left if her feelings for him didn't start there. I adored that moment in the movie as well.

So, the last thing before I send my goodbyes for the moment. I loved Season 4 of Friendship is Magic and I have high hopes for Season five. It's really hard for me to say which season I like the best. So, for an episode I think there should be one about how Spike likes Rarity, but the episode being more on somepony or somedragon having a crush on Spike. It could be an old or new character, but it would be so fun to see Spike trying to find his secret pony admirer. Spike could learn a lesson on moving on from a crush or not to obsess over something like that. (Not saying that obsession is wrong, just saying that not to take it too far)

So, I leave you all with this question. Out of all the characters of the show, who do you see Spike being with. When I say be with, I mean have a crush on the dragon. Let me go first.

It's kind of a tough call on this one. I see so many characters being with Spike. But if I had to pick the one I liked see with him more, it's…

Sweetie Belle.

*Sees Bronies and Pegasisters about to attack him* Let me prove my point.

it would be rather ironic for Sweetie Belle the sister of Rarity, Spike's crush to develop a crush on the dragon. Kind of like a sister love triangle.

Spike, I believe seemed like the same age as the CMC. I could be wrong, but I just don't see him being with one of the Mane six or any other older character.

The movie EG (Equestria Girls) should have had Spike become a human and gain a secret admirer from a person he would have not suspected.

There have been episodes where Rarity had unknowingly make Sweetie Belle live in her shadow. Their pairing (Spike and Sweetie belle) would be another example of their sibling rivalry.

If you think I am correct about Spike/Sweetie Belle being a couple is great, then thanks and if you want to think of more reasons why this would be a great couple, then you may tell me. If you think I am full of rainbows and horse poop, then tell me who you think that would make a great pair with Spike. Well until then, see you all later.

Wow this has turned to be a big surprise that Twilight managed to carry Spike and heal him. Let's see what our crazy Unicorn and Dragon are doing in this chapter.

Chapter 7: Spike's Gift

The sun has never shined any bright Twilight thought as she was outside in the snow. She pranced around in her hooves. The snow was cold, yet slippery. This cautioned the young purple unicorn to be more careful.

She was looking about in the castle grounds. She couldn't believe she got a compliment off of the dragon that held her captive for so long. She saw blue birds flying around her, which only ended up making her giggle.

Unknown to Twilight, a pair of eyes had looked upon her. The eyes belonged to the purple scaled dragon that was staring at her from a small balcony. The dragon had a cast on his right arm from where the Timber wolves bit him the most. A couple of scratches on his body, yet he was grateful that he wasn't hurt too much.

Twilight was simply an amazing creature. He thought to himself. She could have left him behind. Leave him to die in the snow. Run back to her father to live the rest of her days; the servants being doomed to living out their lives as objects. Yet, the simple kindness of Twilight Sparkle was making Spike all confused. The dragon felt out of place. Twilight did something out of the goodness of her heart. What was he to offer her? He felt it was his obligation to repay Twilight. The only question that remained was how.

As luck should have it, Rarity and Rainbow Dash strolled outside to comfort their master.

"Watching her again" Rainbow Dash smirked at the dragon

"Yea" He spoke "She saved my life when she could have just left me behind. I never knew any pony that would ever do that for me"

"Well, I feel such kindness is to be rewarded. Are you thinking of a way to repay the young mare back?" Rarity smiled

"I am not sure" Spike said to Rarity's confusion

"I don't understand, master. You do want the girl to enjoy her stay here, don't you" Rarity asked

"Of course I do" Spike said

"Then, simply give her something that she would enjoy" Rarity said

"But, I am not sure what she enjoys. I mean she doesn't do much in the castle or even outside the castle as well" Spike hopelessly said

"Hey, come on. Now's not the time to be mopping around. Think about what she enjoys doing" Rainbow punched the dragon's arm playfully. She realized she punched the bad arm. "Sorry"

"It's ok" Spike spoke sincerely. Rainbow Dash was shocked that Spike wasn't mad that she did that to him.

"I mean she doesn't do much, but cry, walk around the class, reading books…"Spike rose up from his sad demeanor as it turned into one that held an idea. "I got just the thing.

"This meal is lovely" Twilight smiled as she was surprised the dragon had asked her to have a nice meal with him. She could tell he was up to something, but due to his new personality, it was hard to tell.

"I am glad you like it" Spike smiled as he was glad the lunch was great as he had hoped for. He stood up from his chair as he had finished his food. Twilight would hope to teach him not to eat his food in one gulp. It wasn't going anywhere.

"I want to show you something" Spike offered his claw to the young mare

"Umm, ok" Twilight gentle gave him her hoof, only to be lifted from the chair to where Spike was walking with her.

There was something that Twilight noticed. A few spikes that Spike had on his forehand had disappeared; the other change that she noticed that he had shrunken to a few inches from his height. Twilight wasn't sure if it was magic or a dragon's biology, but she was curious to learn more.

The duo soon came to a pair of large doors. There was a bunch of wooden bars that blocked the way to the door. With one of his arms, Spike tore up most of the bars that blocked his way. Twilight removed the last bar as she wasn't going to let him push himself for something he was going to give her.

"I need you to cover your eyes" Spike smiled

Twilight wasn't convinced of his words.

"It's a surprise" Spike offered a smile to convince Twilight

The mare closed her eyes. Spike opened the door, walking with Twilight inside the room as he opened the curtains. Twilight had slowly opened her eyes to see miles upon miles of the one thing she really enjoyed.

The smile that came across the mare's face was unforgettable. She couldn't believe Spike had all these books to himself. She shook with nervousness as the dragon finally dropped down to where Twilight stood. He could tell it was like a dog waiting for his chance to eat. Spike smiled as he was glad Twilight loved the Library he had in his own class.

"Are all of these books" Twilight spoke

"Yes, this library is all yours. Think of it as a way of saving my life. You can go read" Spike said as he looked at the puff of smoke where Twilight stood. He saw her zipping through the isles picking out some books to read. Spike was really glad Twilight was a book nerd.

Spike didn't care how long they were at the library. What was important to Spike was Twilight's happiness. He had his elbows to the table as he saw the young mare reading a book to him that was about ponies and dragons living together in harmony. The last time he read a story was with his own mother years ago; remembering that exact moment brought a tear to the dragon's eye. Twilight took quick notice of this.

"Spike, are you ok" Twilight said with great concern.

"O yea I am fine" Spike realized that a tear fell from his eye.

"If there is anything you want to tell me you can" Twilight offered her sympathies

"I am fine Twilight" Spike smiled

"Would you like to read" Twilight floated the book right in front of Spike

"Pleases Twilight I promised myself I wouldn't touch a single book in this library" Spike shield his hands to keep himself from touching the book.

"O I see" Twilight used her magic to drop the book as it seemed to cause him discomfort. "This library is rather unique"

"Yes, my father had it build as an engagement gift for my mother. She would always bring me in here to read. She always loved reading and learning new things. She was wiser than my father" Spike smiled

"You don't talk about your parents much" Twilight saw Spike's pain

"It's been a long time since I have even spoken of them" Spike turns to the picture on the wall of his parents "They were the wisest dragons in all the land. Dragons, ponies, and creatures of all sorts came to them for guidance" Spike smiled as he began to tell Twilight of both of his parents.

"Both my parents were born in this castle and became great friends. When it came time for my father to marry, the one dragon he chose was my mother. They were too different from one another, yet they somehow mended their personalities together. My father's brutal strength turned to wisdom, while my mother learned that you can't talk your way out of all situations" the dragon smiled

"Eventually, their marriage lasted for many years as they were happy together. However, they soon realized that age was catching up with them and that they wanted to be a family. Soon, I came along and that made my parents very happy. My parents wanted what was best for me. They wished I was to be a strong and wise king than my own father was" Spike looked at Twilight, who seemed to enjoy the story.

"However, not everything can be fun and games" Spike sadly sighed. "My mother and father soon fell ill. They were overtaken by a horrible disease that only affected dragons. My heart couldn't take seeing them in the state. They both succumb to the disease when I was a bit young, but I only understood that they were very sick. I wanted to become a great king like they had asked. Yet, I was affected by their deaths so much that I became cruel and wicked. I held a hatred for everything and didn't care for much. The rest of the story you know from Applejack" Spike looked down tried to wipe the tears from his eyes.

The mare saw how sad his eyes were and attempted to dry them with a napkin. The dragon stood up from his chair as he walked away. "You can eat by yourself for tonight. I need to be alone right now"

Twilight stepped down seeing Spike in such sadness that for some reason her heart couldn't bear seeing him like this.

Spike sat in his room eating his dinner alone. He thought he could stomach through his own parents demise. Yet, he saw the stream of tears surging through his face. He growled and blew fire at the mirror. He didn't realize his servant Applejack was stilling right next to him.

"Are you alright sir" Applejack smiled

"Of course I am" Spike said

"I just came to inform you that everything is in order" Applejack smiled "Rarity would tell you this, but she wanted to give you and Twilight some privacy and asked me to tell you when you are alone" Applejack told him

"That's great Applejack" Spike unfazed by the announcement as his mind was focused on some pony else.

"It seems that the mare is getting to you isn't she" Applejack sensed what was happening between Spike and Twilight.

"I am not sure anymore" Spike sighed "I mean I thought I could give the library as a gift. You should have heard the way she read those books. It was just like…"

"Your mother" Applejack answered for her master.

"Exactly, I mean I am not sure what is it about Twilight that reminds me so much of her" Spike paced around. "She is wise, smart, funny, and has a knack for making me worry for her"

"I am sure you know the answer for that one" Applejack smiled

"No no, it can't be Applejack. I mean I like Twilight but I don't love her" Spike shook his head

"Well you barely touched your food" Applejack smiled as she jumped to the table and pointed at his barely touched food.

"I just need…I just need. I just need to speak to her" Spike walked to the door. He then noticed something about himself "Applejack, am I getting shorter"

"A little bit, but I am sure it's nothing to worry about" Applejack smiled as she could tell his heart was accepting Twilight's more and more. Due to this, a few more barbs disappeared from his body and he was getting shorter. How he always complained about being hit by his own door had instantly vanished.

"Applejack, is Twilight in her room" Spike asked

"No, Spike, she is in the Cemetery" Applejack said

"Wait, what's she doing there" Spike was startled by her location

"I am not sure, she asked if we had a Cemetery and I told her where it was" Applejack looked at him with concern.

"I need to see her" He rushes out the door as Applejack was glad Spike was being to show signs of returning to his normal self again. It was only a matter of time before things would become normal for every pony.

Well, I guess I can stop things here. So, what did you all think of this chapter. I actually liked it myself. I added Spike talking about his parents and the graveyard because I didn't want to exactly rip off the Disney movie too much. I loved the moment that Spike was talking about his parents. I do hope MLP would tell of Spike's family or even his parents. That's one mystery that is worth solving. I do hope people will continue to like this story. Here's to the next chapter. Chapter 8: The Cemetery

Spike made his way to the entrance of the graveyard seeing the night time sky. He never saw such a sight before. He wonders how Twilight came to find this place. He had several secret passage ways build so he could see his parents himself. However, he must have guessed that even blocking off the main entrance wouldn't stop a unicorn like Twilight.

The dragon made his way seeing tombstone after tombstone of his guards, servants, and former relatives. It wasn't hard to find his parents grave. He eventually found the mare he was seeking. Spike saw that it started to snow and even that didn't bother him or Twilight. He wonders what she was doing at his parent's tombstone. She didn't know them. So, what was the point of her coming here?

The dragon made sure to hide himself well enough for Twilight to think that he hasn't been following her. He kept peeking out when she wasn't looking. He then heard her melody like voice.

"Hello King and Queen of this land. You may not know me at all. But I am a prisoner of your son, Spike. I am Twilight Sparkle" Twilight said as Spike felt bad when she mentioned she was his prisoner.

"It's been a whole month since I offered myself to the dragon and there have been moments that I have been very frightened of your son. How cruel, rude and heartless he could be. All the suffering I have been through. All the heartache I had to take in. But, if I ever had a choice to do it again, I would surely be glad to" Twilight looked down

Spike was speechless as he stared at the purple unicorn talking to his mother and father as if they were still alive. Some ponies would call her crazy. Yet, he does the same thing.

"I then heard about both of you and how you once ruled this land. It's amazing that I never heard of you two before. Then, the passing of both of you made sense of why Spike acts the way he does. He is cruel, rude, and heartless because he has to be brave and hide the pain of their passing. I understood this feeling all too well. We are the same him and I" Twilight smiled with a tear in her eye.

Spike raised a brow in confusion.

"You see when I was very young; my mother was a very soft spoken mare with great ambitions. Yet, she had to put her life on hold when I came along. I tried to make my mother happy, but she was getting worry each day. The sadness in her heart soon turned to sickness. She wanted our family to have a better life, yet moving from home to home took its toll on her. I never cried so hard when I lost my own mother" Twilight moved as her body was toward the Queen's grave.

"It makes sense that Spike honored you the most. We both lost the one creature that gave us life. We tried so hard to make our mothers proud of us when we didn't have to true so hard. Mothers accept us for who we are and encourage us to write our own future. I guess we were blinded by something else. I am not sure what Spike shares with you since I don't know you that well. I share my love of books from my mother. My father tells me I am a splitting image of my mother" Twilight started to cry when thinking of her father.

Spike didn't understand the reason, but he was in such pain from seeing Twilight go on with her words.

"I don't understand what I am feeling inside of myself, but I am really grateful of being with your son. A son you both tried to raise so hard, yet feels the burden of your passing is his fault" Twilight looks around as she felt a familiar presence in the graveyard "Yet, I feel in my heart that your true son is trying to break free and I hope to meet him one day"

Spike felt really shocked hearing Twilight's words. He hid well so she wouldn't see him. He wanted to look at her, he wanted to touch her, and he wanted to make her his whole world. Yet, he wasn't sure how much Twilight really viewed him.

"You know you can talk to them too" Spike jumped when he heard her voice right next to him finding his spot.

"I am sorry for being so rude. I wasn't sure where you were" Spike mumbles while making up excuses of why he followed her here. "Wait, what are you doing here?"

"I just needed some air. Did you think I ran off again?" Twilight became curious

"Umm…No I didn't say that; I just thought that maybe you were at another part of this castle given that it is so big" Spike nervously smiled a little bit.

"Spike, there is a difference between following somepony and stalking them" Twilight felt like her personal space has been invaded.

"I wasn't stalking you, I was making sure no wolves would harm you" Spike tried to hide a blush, but he could tell the mare wasn't a pony to be fooled with.

"Well, I am fine. This night is sure beauty in its purest form wouldn't you agree" Twilight smiled

"Yes, I guess it is" Spike said as he felt the snow. Twilight looked at him and felt like something about him was handsome.

"You ok Twilight" Spike raised a brow as he could tell Twilight was looking at him for a long time.

"Oh…ummm no sorry I was just noticing how good you look" Twilight looks down feeling ashamed of herself and fakes a yawn to just break the conversation. "Well, I guess I should get some shut eye. You are coming in with me, right?"

"Just give me a few minutes" Spike asked the unicorn, who knew why he wanted a few minutes and walked away.

Spike made sure she was inside before he went back to the tombstone of his parents.

"Mom…Dad, I guess it's been a long time since I have seen you both. I know my current behavior and appearance would frighten both of you, but I have missed you both so much it just hurts for me to revisit the past" Spike broke down in front of the tombstone. His tears had never hurt him so much.

"I guess you met the mare I have made a prisoner today. There are times where she can be uptight, ungrateful, rude, and a constant know it all that keeps trying to prove me wrong. Yet, I feel in my heart that it's guiding me to this mare for some reason. I haven't met a mare like that ever. Mother, she really reminds me of you. How much you love to read, how much she laughs. O gosh she is an amazing mare" Spike smiled

"Father, I know there are times you want me to be like you, but I can't be like you. I can never be like you at all. I just want you to understand that I need to rule the way that I wish to rule over the land. To do that, I need to change my behavior, my appearance, and the way if I ever want Twilight to love me" Spike continued.

"I guess you both can say that I love Twilight Sparkle and I want to do anything to make her happy, yet I can't even make myself happy. I miss both of you so much" Spike cried in front of the tombstones.

Unknown to the dragon, the unicorn was making her way upstairs when she saw him crying his eyes out. A strong part of herself felt her soul tearing to pieces when she saw him like that. She shook her head wondering where that came from.

Meanwhile at the village, Twilight's father was worried sick about his own daughter. He coughed a little bit as he stormed into the bar. He needed help on getting his daughter out of that castle, from that terrifying dragon.

"Help me; somepony has got to help me. Twilight has been kidnapped and I need the help from all of you" Mr. Sparkle roared.

This roar got the attention of almost every pony including Snips, Snails, and Sombra.

"Sparkle calm down, who has kidnapped Twilight" one of the villagers's asked

"It was a big scary dragon" Mr. Sparkle stood up tall to imitate Spike's scary nature.

Everypony in the bar laughed as Mr. Sparkle was fearful of what could happen to his daughter. Dragons have been long since dead in the land of Equestria.

"You must be joking" Snips laughed

"Yea, no way dragons are still around" Snails commented

"No but it's true I saw him taking Twilight for himself. Sombra, you have got to help me" Mr. Sparkle said as he begs for Sombra to help him.

"Oh of course we will help you out" He winks to two stallions that carried Mr. Sparkle and proceeded to kick out Mr. Sparkle's craziness.

As soon as Mr. Sparkle was out of the bar, Sombra smiled hearing the words of his collegues. "Crazy Sparkle huh"

"Umm boss everything ok" Snips asked

"Come on you two, I have a plan to get that mare to marry me once and for all" Sombra sounded determined as he marches out of the bar for his own nefarious schemes.

"I hope dinner was to your liking" Spike smiled as he tucked Twilight into her own bed.

"It was, thank you very much" Twilight nods

"You are quite welcome" Spike checks around making sure her bedroom was safe.

"I am sure the dusty bunnies are not trained ninjas" Twilight couldn't help but giggle at his efforts to keep her safe" Twilight said

"You never know" Spike commented as he stood up and started to walk out

"WAIT" She screamed as Spike quickly turned around.

"Can you sleep here with me for tonight" Twilight whimpered

"Umm, I am not so sure I should" Spike nervously stated

"It will only just be for tonight" Twilight waved her hooves in defense

"Ok" Spike said as he proceeded to sleep on the ground.

"Not there" Twilight said "On the bed with me"

Spike made his way on her bed as he lies in front of the bed, which confused Twilight. "Umm, right next to me pleases"

Spike blushes as he tried to fit himself in the bed with Twilight. Both pairs find the awkwardness of sleeping together as they looked to one another. This feeling felt very natural as Spike looked into the eyes of Twilight and the mare did the same to Spike's eyes. Both of their gazes could last forever until they learned that they were leaning closer for a passionate kiss. They stopped their moment and both said.

"Goodnight"

They tried to sleep, but the feeling of their almost kiss was driving them crazy. Spike held Twilight in his arms as he looks down and closes his eyes hoping her comfort would warm his own heart. Only time would tell for that to happen, but not long.

Well I guess Twilight and Spike are feeling awkward on sharing the bed together and it looks like they are falling for one another. So, I hope you like the story so far. I like it as well. I don't want to make this story too much like the Disney movie due to reasons of my own, but I highly recommend people watching the Disney movie before reading this story. So, I hope you all have a great time reading this story. Hope to bring the next chapter soon.

Gosh, it's been a long while since i have written for this story. Well, the main reason for my absent of this story is that i am doing another Beauty and the Beast story. You would know it better as the Bride of Discord's Gender Swap version, Groom of Eris. it's based on Bride of Discord by Disney Fanatic 2364. It's a superior Beauty and the Beast story for those whose who are interested in Beauty and the Beast/MLP stories. Also recommended those who like Fluttershy/Discord pairing. Anyways, i thought i might come back here to finish what i have started. Figure i would do that. Anyways, so i hope you enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 9: Love in the Air

"YAWN!" Twilight yawned as she used her hooves to stretch her body. It was a wonderful night sleep that she had. It had been a long time since she slept like that before. She opened her eyes and viewed her surroundings. She wondered where Spike was since it didn't look like he was on the right side. She felt a strong grip on her body. She lowered her eyes watching some claws on her stomach. She slowly turned seeing the dragon was sleeping in front of her. Not only that, but she found he was cuddling with her like a stuffed teddy bear. It was as if they were sleeping like a couple, but they weren't together.

Twilight smiled, but felt the dragon had gripped her uncomfortably. Twilight felt a twinge of fear for what the dragon was doing. He was merely holding her but Twilight felt something off about it. She wasn't thinking clearly due to it being the morning and misinterpreted his sleep patterns. She surrounded herself in a magical barrier, however Spike went to the ground due to the barrier. "AHHHHH, NOT THERE"

"OW" The dragon said crashing to the floor. Twilight felt embarrassed that she kicked the dragon out of her bed. She didn't mean to. It felt rather nice of him cuddling with her. It was even her idea for him to sleep with her on the bed.

Way to go Twilight, let's have the dragon, who was kind enough to sleep with you, kicked out of the bed. You are the worst. Twilight approached the end of the bed and looked down at Spike. Wait, wasn't he taller? I wonder why is he getting shorter.

Spike stood up on the bed as he looked at Twilight. He grumbled as he felt like a train hit his body. He stood on his legs and smiled at Twilight. "Morning, Twilight. I am sorry about my actions this morning. I didn't mean to..."

"No no it's my fault. I should have realized that you were sleeping here as well" Twilight looked away.

"I usually cuddle with my teddy..." Spike was about to announce a secret to Twilight, but noticed she held a leering smile "I mean nothing"

"Umm, i will get breakfast ready while you brush your mane...i mean not that you mane doesn't look nice i mean i just thought that maybe I" Spike was putting his foot in his mouth as he felt he was insulting Twilight at every turn. Twilight was touched that Spike was nervous upon what he says. She understood what he was talking about and put her hoof on his lips. "I understand, go and i will get freshen up"

Spike smiled as he ran off to cook something up for the two of them. As soon as he left, Twilight laughed and head towards the mirror and started to brush her mane.

"Okay Spike, what would Twilight like to eat" Spike talked to himself trying to find something good for the mare to eat.

He dismissed the meat and eggs as he felt Twilight wouldn't be in the mood for it. Spike began to look over it as he noticed a head of lettuce and a tomato. Spike smiled as he grabbed the two items and started to craft a meal that would be suitable for Twilight's hunger.

"Spike" Twilight leaned in.

Spike turns around and nearly froze as he saw Twilight. Her mane flowed in the window as she entered the kitchen. Spike's face couldn't comprehend Twilight's appearance in the kitchen. He was blushing as he stood there like a fool.

"Something the matter?" Twilight tilted her head to the side staring at the dragon.

"Oh, nothing i just didn't think you were that beautiful before, not that you aren't beautiful it was just that..." Spike blushed

"It's okay" Twilight sat down.

Spike brought the two plates of a salad and places it down. Twilight looked up at Spike, who was munching on the same thing as she was. Spike tried to enjoy the salad, but the taste was horrible on his taste buds. Twilight giggled. She felt Spike was eating the salad in hopes of sharing similar interests.

"You know, you can just say you don't like salad. You don't have to eat it if you don't like it" Twilight giggled

"No no, it's okay. I really enjoy this salad" Spike lied as he took another bite. He smiled and when Twilight wasn't looking he quickly spit out the salad and rubbed his tongue feeling disgusted.

"So, what do you want to do today?" Twilight smiled

"Umm, i am not sure. I am sure i will think of something. Why don't you work on your library? There is something i need to do by myself" Spike slithered away as Twilight felt something was bothering him.

Twilight pulled all of the books out of the book shelf. "Gees, these books look like they haven't been touched in ages."

The unicorn was glad that Spike gave her such a wonderful gift she could enjoy. However, something felt missing from her life. She stared out the window. She knew it had been a month since she had last seen her father. Was he doing alright? Was he living his life without her? How much was he missing her?

Twilight sighed as she went back to reorganizing the books. There was nothing she could do. She was prisoner of Spike, and thus had to stay within the castle. She didn't hate staying in the castle. She loved being in this large castle. Spike wasn't that bad as she first perceived him. Something in the dragon has changed. Was it her being in the castle or was it something else?

BANG!

Twilight heard the loud bang. She used her magic to put a stack of books away. She hated to leave the library in the condition of the books, but she decided to investigate the large noise. She raced out of the library to confront where it was coming from.

Twilight slowly made her way to the source of the noise. She turned her head seeing the door of a large room opening ajar.

BANG!

"Darn it" Twilight heard Spike's voice in the room. The unicorn peeked on to what he was up to and why he was making such a racket.

In the room, Spike was slipping on the floor. He was dancing around in the room, but he slipped and fell on the floor. His lastest attempt made him pound on the ground. "Why can't i get this right"

Twilight wondered what Spike was doing. On a table, he saw Applejack and Rainbow Dash cheering him on.

"It's okay, sugarcube. It just takes a little practice" Applejack smiled

"Yeah, you'll be dancing that mare in circles by the time you get better at it" Rainbow Dash nods

Dancing? Twilight thought. Why does he want to dance all of a sudden?

"I know i can do it, but due to my size i can't seem to get my steps just right. This won't impress Twilight" Spike slipped on the ground once more.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack were about to reply when they noticed a figure walking into the room. The two stood there while Spike looked at them strangely. "What's wrong?"

"Trying to dance i see" a voice boomed out.

Spike turned his head as he saw Twilight standing there smiling at him. Spike stood up straight as he didn't want her to know what he has been doing "Oh, Twilight. I was just umm checking on the ground here making sure it was safe to walk on. I hope i haven't disturbed you at all"

"A little, but it's okay. I know you were trying to dance" Twilight giggled as she stepped forward.

"Nothing gets passed you huh" Spike said in defeat. He couldn't lie to her about what he was doing.

"Nope, want some help? I am a bit rusty as well. I am sure we can learn together" Twilight offered her hoof to his claw.

Spike nods as he accepts her hoof.

the unicorn and the dragon were walking out of the ballroom, Spike looked over at Twilight and smiled.

"I didn't realize you danced that well" Spike tried hard not to laugh. Twilight kicked him in the leg "Ow!"

"Don't laugh. It's been a while since i have danced" Twilight looked away to hide the shame of her dancing techniques.

"It's okay, i am just as bad as you are. It was a nice practice though" Spike chuckled as they were heading up to the room.

Spike didn't want to leave Twilight without saying something other than goodnight.

"So, i guess tomorrow will be another day" Twilight stood there as she looked at Spike.

"Umm Twilight, ummm before i say goodnight. There is something i need to ask you" Spike grabbed his tail and twisted it a little bit. He felt incredibly nervous upon what he was about to ask her.

"What's up" Twilight was curious. She stepped towards the dragon wondering what was he about to ask her.

"Twilight would you like to... I mean tomorrow night for dinner will be in the ball room. I would like to keep it formal, so pleases dress for the occasion"

"Okay" Twilight kissed the dragon's cheek. She opened the door to the room and smiled "Until tomorrow Spike"

"Until tomorrow Twilight" Spike giggled as he waved goodnight.

As soon as she left his eyes, Spike couldn't help but jump for joy. He couldn't help but feel satisfied that Twilight was going out with him. The mare that walked through his doors was going out with him.

Tomorrow is going to be a big day. Spike felt confidence that he was now in love with the unicorn.

I need to catch up on this story. Next chapter will be the dancing scene. I think every Beauty and the Beast has a great dancing scene. If you are asking me. I have read Bride of Discord and i do like it. But, let's focus less on Bride of Discord and more on this story. Twilight and the Spike Author's Note

Hello everyone. This is the Autistic Writer welcoming you back to Twilight and the Spike. Boy, has it been a long time since I have done a chapter on this story. But, enough about that it's time for explanations.

I apologize if I have been late on this one. I finished Groom of Eris a year or so ago and completely forgot about this one. I am sorry for everyone that was following this story. I left you guys in the dark and it was not right of me to do so. You guys deserve better.

So, I went back to look at the story and… I didn't like it. I am not regretting writing this story, but it does look sloppy. So, I want to go back and revamp this story once more. I want to create a story for you guys to enjoy once again.

I am going to look through chapters 1-8 and fix them up a little bit. Make them longer; make them nice and neat for you guys. I hope by that point, you guys will see the changes that I have made for the story.

You may have to wait a bit longer for the next chapter of Twilight and the Spike, but I promise that this time, it won't be for too long. I just need to go back and fix the problems I made. I won't want you guys to read a big mess, I want you guys to read a story that you actually like.

I hope you guys aren't too angry at me for the changes. I promise to get another chapter of this story out to you guys when I can.
