Chapter 1: Rarity's Love

"I sent out the order, Rarity," Sweetie Belle said.

"Good, good. Were they happy?" Rarity asked.

"Yeah. They loved it."

"That's nice."

It was a nice summer evening. 55 years since Twilight becoming a princess. She was immortal now, so she looked just as young as when it happened, along with Princess Cadence. Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash- who had been the latest to pass away- were all buried in a special place in Ponyville, around a beautiful cherry blossom tree on a small hill. Pinkie Pie died of old age. Apple Jack passed on when she got food poisoning and her immune system was weak so that she didn't have the strength to fight it. Fluttershy, oh sweet little Fluttershy, died peacefully in her sleep of old, too. Rainbow Dash was hurt flying a few months before dying of head trauma (that's what the doctors said at least), but Rarity thought mostly because she had gone through several bouts sickness the last weeks. They had grieved deeply, but not forgetting they should honor their memories.

Now Rarity was in her final hours. Sweetie Belle had not turned out to be a fashionista after all. Her cutie mark was of a microphone. Scootaloo had a mark of a scooter on her flank, not surprisingly. And Apple Bloom had a hammer for hers.

"So, was that the last one?" Sweetie Belle asked quietly.
"Yes. My last order. The last dress I'll ever make. That was it," Rarity whispered, a tear running down her face.

"No, don't say that. You'll make more!" Sweetie Belle was on the verge of tears, biting her lip. Rarity laughed slightly, running a hoof down the pony's face.

"Don't pretend it's not happening; that it's not going to. I'll be with you always, Sweetie." Rarity stopped, giving a few small coughs. "But that was it, my last dress." Tears were now running freely down Sweetie Belle's face.

"But- but you won't always be with me, because you're leaving soon," Sweetie Belle sobbed, grabbing Rarity's hoof in hers.

"My body won't be here, but my spirit will. My love will. My memories will."

"That's not good enough."

"Don't say that. Please, accept I have to go."

"But I don't want you to go! I want you to be here, with me! I want to lay in your arms, be holding you. I don't want to lose you too." Sweetie Belle cried.

"It'll be okay. You'll still have Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, all your other pals."

"They're not family. They're not like you."

"I know, but you're still close to them, aren't you?"

"Yes," she sighed, and wiped the tears away with a hoof, the other one still gripping Rarity's.

"Then cherish them. Cherish the moments and memories we had together. Keep them in your heart, always, no matter what. Know that I love you."

"I-I-"

"Sh, Sweetie. It's okay," Rarity hushed, holding her closer. She smoothed her mane as she hugged her.

"Remember when we raced in the Sister Hood Social? That was fun, right?" The old fashion unicorn croaked. Sweetie Belle giggled.

"Yeah, it was. Especially since I didn't know it was you!"
They went on talking about their favorite moments together for the last of their time together. Hours later, Rarity spoke.

"I must go now, Sweetie Belle. Remember the moments, memories, and time we spent together. I love you with all my heart. I always have, and I always will... Good bye... Baby sister... Joy..of...m-my..."

"Life."
