Chapter 25: Discord

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

A/N: This chapter comes from a thought that popped in my head a while ago: "What if Discord was never really Discord?"

Now, I know that makes no sense, but I hope this chapter will explain what I mean, since it will be from Discord's POV. Also, I feel that I haven't given him enough attention in the story, especially since he's a Non-Euclidean Entity of Unimaginable Power.

So.. DISCORD CHAPTER!

And so we go

Discord frowned as he walked through the halls of the Ancestral Halls, not particularly happy about recent events. His blue scales shimmered in the torch light, while his golden eyes scanned the walls around him. His immense form was dwarfed by the sheer size of the hall he strode through.

"This was not supposed to happen," he muttered to himself, "She wasn't supposed to start falling in love with me. How will my Queen react? This could ruin everything we've planned for..."

Discord stopped when he came before a door several times bigger than him. Knocking lightly, he waited patiently for a response.

"Come in," a voice on the other side said.

Slowly opening the door, Discord was slowly bathed in a brilliant golden light. Entering the room, he beheld a beautiful golden form, the only object of his desire, Auream Regina, his Golden Queen.

"Ah. My Beloved Prince," the Dragon Queen sighed, "I was wondering how long it would be until your next report. So tell me, how does your infiltration of the Equestrian race progress?"

Discord looked away and scratched the back of his head, "There's been a... complication."

"Oh?"

"It would seem that Princess Twilight has begun to fall in love with me."

"An interesting turn of events," she said as she tapped her lower jaw with a claw, "Look at me please."

Discord looked up, fear evident in his eyes.

"Oh, lighten up, my Prince. We can use this to our advantage. With their most powerful leader in your pocket, it wouldn't be difficult to weaken them even more than they already are."

"Of course, my Queen," Discord breathed a sigh of relief, "So I should allow her to fall for me even more?"

"Yes. Once she has completely fallen for you, the subjugation of their race is all but assured," the Dragon Queen nuzzles against Discord's neck, "And soon, we will again rule this world."

Discord snorted, "But why do I have to assume that hideous form? I can barely stand being in it for a day, and they imprisoned me in it for several thousand years. Can't I change another thing back to normal?"

The Dragon Queen laughed, "It isn't that bad. Besides, if you change back too quickly, they might begin to suspect that something is up. Stick to the predetermined schedule."

"I defer to your wisdom, my Queen," Discord said with an exaggerated bow and a smile.

"Your sarcasm is not required. Plus, I find your disguise to be cute, in a childish way. I do wish you'd wear it more often."

In a flash of light, the (relatively) microscopic form of the Draconeequs, Discord, was curled up in the palm of the Dragon Queen's right hand.

"Does this please you, my Lady?"

'Indeed it does, but I feel awkward being so much larger than you. Maybe I should assume my disguise."

Another flash of light filled the room.

"Is this better?" Chrysalis asked.

"Much," Discord replied with a grin.

"You know, I do believe we are due for another clutch," Chrysalis said in a sultry tone, her eyelids lowering seductively.

"You would be correct," Discord added as he snapped his fingers, sealing the doors to the great hall.

END NOTE: I know that I took WAY too long to post this, and that it's unacceptably short, but I think the plot twist is worth it. I hope you feel the same.
