The Endless Winter

It was December, my favorite month of the year. Everyday I go shopping on a small store in Boston for some food and supplies. My mom has been practicing some time ago special recipes from a TV program. My name is Vincent, I'm 18-years old. I'm not just an ordinary boy, my mind is filled with ideas. Since I was 8, my friends and I at school used to play a game called World of Adventures. Each day we played something different, such as pirates, archaeologists, even the gallant knights that saved the princess from a terrible despair. My biggest dream is becoming a noble warrior wielding a sword and protect the world. My mom won't believe me but I am talking the truth.

Thursday morning, it was barely six o'clock and my parents are not awake yet. So I decided to go out for a walk over the snowy streets. Suddenly, I heard somenone's voice.

"Hey you. Come here."

"Huh? Who's there?", I saw my surroundings but found no one. I kept walking, but after a few meters, the same voice interrupted me again.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!"

"All right, that's enough! Reveal yourself, whoever you are.", behing a tree on my left, came out a little boy that caught my attention. His skin totally pale, and his eyes color yellow and orange pupils. He really scared me.

"Hey hey hey. Calm down, son. I mean no harm."

"Am I going to believe every word you say? You scare me, though.", I spoke to him in a calm tone, but the creepy boy began to walk towards me slowly. At the same I walked backwards but he didn't stop following me. So I ran away from him, but he was really fast for me, the boy appeared in front of me in an instant.

"Wait a second, foolish Human! I'm not done with you.", the boy made a magic trick with his left hand, then I realized that I was paralized.

"Ugh! I can't move! Leave me alone!"

I was shocked to see that the creepy pale boy was more than that. He transformed into some scary monster. The only thing I saw from him was a dragon head with the same yellow and orange colored eyes. a reindeer horn, and the other one of a goat. He was furious at me and spoke in a sarcastic tone.

"Trying to escape from me, huh? It won't be so easy, fool. What were you waiting for? (mocking) Ohhh, help me! A monster is gonna eat me! (furious tone) FOOLISHENSS! I thought we was friends, but you angered me now. Feel the power of hypnosis!"

The monster hypnotized me with his eyes in a very peculiar manner and I was falling asleep until I tumbled to the ground.

I don't know how many time passed, but when I woke up, I was in the middle of a frozen lake. Didn't know what to do. Move, break the ice and die frozen solid. Or sit down and do nothing. But as a good adventurer I am, it is my duty to complete my objective. So I decided to move slowly across the ice without cracking it. But every step I made, slept and fell down with my butt. Sometimes with my face too, but actually that hurt more. After my sixth attempt, the ice began to break down. I am in danger now, so it's better for me not to move from my spot. I was starving. Looking at my watch, it was eight o'clock. That's the time where my parents wake up. The saddest thing of all is that they are looking for me from any corner. Oh my God!

"Need any help, friend?, someone spoke at me. I was alerted by the presence of a purple unicorn with a mane that matches her color too.

"Well...if that's not too much problem for you.", she casted some kind of magic that glowed from her horn and in the snap of fingers, I was at her side now.

"Phew! I suppose this is a thank you.", I said while I was removing some snow covering my shoulders.

"You are welcome, my friend. Oops! Where's my manners? (Chuckles) My name is Twilight Sparkle. I am Princess Celestia's best student. For a long time I've been practicing the arts of magic and learning the magic of friendship.", she raised a hoof and I shook it with trust.

"And my name is Vincent. As you can see, I am...a lot different from your kind.", explained to her but a bit unsure of myself.

"How did you get here, by the way?, Twilight asked me and explained the story of the creepy pale boy that stalked me a while ago. After describing about the horns only, the unicorn began to think for a second.

"Those horns...I remember seeing it somewhere. But in the meantime, why don't you come to my house? I can prepare you some hot beverage."

"Y-yes...brrrrr...and make it...q-q-q-q-quick...(sneeze)" afortunately I had these winter garments but didn't protect me from this cold intensity.

"(Laugh) Bless you"

"Thanks."

"Let's go before this cold becomes worse than before."

"Okay."

Hello bronies, pegasisters and fellow readers. Sorry for not updating during the last two months. Because I was extremely busy, had some personal issues but I finally got over it. I am currently writing the second chapter now. It will be ready for May 13.
