It was a calm day in Ponyville. The Weather Team made a nice weather schedule that will last a couple more days. Twilight Sparkle was reading her book outside in the nice weather when Spike came running up with something in his hand. "Hey Spike." Twilight called out to him. "What do you have there?" Spike was on the ground, panting very heavily, and held up a scroll with a red ribbon attached to it. Twilight levitated it over to her and started reading.

My Most Faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle,

There is a problem in a field near Canterlot. There are reports of a black dragon with purple eyes making a home in a cave and causing issues. I went down there myself and it tried to grab me. I would like it if the Elements of Harmony could go down there and see what is causing the panic.

"A dragon causing problems. Huh." Spike said as he started to get up. "I can help you with it if you want."

"Sure Spike. I think we need all the help we can get if we're going to fight a dragon." replied Twilight. "I'm going to do some research. You go find my friends."

And so, they were off. Spike was running to Sweet Apple Acres where Applejack lived first. It was closest to the park Twilight was reading in. He finally made it to the entrance and found the Cutie Mark Crusaders getting ready to leave for another attempt at earning their cutie marks. "Hi Spike!" They said in unison. Spike waved to them and went up to Apple Bloom and asked "Hey, Apple Bloom, where is your big sister?"

Scootaloo replied to him before Apple Bloom did and said "She is out in the field with Rainbow Dash working on something."

"Thank you Scootaloo." he said. Then he turned to Sweetie Belle and asked her a where Rarity was. "She is working with them trying to make whatever it is pretty."

Out in the field, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity were trying to make a flashy advertisement for Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack supplied the materials, Rarity created the basic design, and Rainbow Dash worked with Applejack putting the design on the board. "A little to the left.. No! No! MY left!" Rarity was yelling out to Rainbow as she attempted to put a ribbon across the top of the board. "Why does it have to be YOUR left? I think the way I put it on is perfect!" Rainbow yelled back to her. "Well you don't have much of a sense of style! Just do it the way I told you and this will go over quickly!"

Spike could hear their arguing from the entrance of Sweet Apple Acres and rushed over. He was watching them splatter paint, ribbons, glitter, and all sorts of stuff on a giant wooden board. He casually walked over and sat down near them. He decided to wait until all their fighting stopped until he could talk to them.

Meanwhile, back at the library, Twilight was busy picking out books on dragons and creatures similar to them so she could at least get an idea of what she would be up against. "Almost all of the books here just have basic information about dragons, and not a single thing about a dragon with a black body and purple eyes!" Suddenly, she heard something outside. She looked out her window and saw Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie walking toward the library.

"Hey Twilight! Do you want a cupcake?" she heard Pinkie yell from outside. Twilight walked over to the door and magicly opened it up to see Pinkie's face only five inches away from her own.

"Uhh, hi Pinkie." Twilight cautiously said to her. "Hiya Twilight! So do you want a cupcake now?" Pinkie was slowly inching closer to her. "Maybe later Pinkie." she said pushing the happy pink pony away. "I actually need your help right now. Here, see this letter." she said levitating the letter from Princess Celestia over to them. Both Pinkie and Fluttershy read the letter and Fluttershy spoke very quietly and said "I.. um.. i've never heard of a dragon like that. Do they.. um.. have any information written about them?"

"That is what I am trying to find out. Can you two help me look through these books and tell me if you find the dragon causing the problems?" they each nodded their heads. "Great! I have a pile of books here about dragons and I need you to look through them while Spike gets Applejack, Rainbow, and Rarity."

Back in Sweet Apple Acres, the fighting got much worse. Applejack was stuck trying to mediate Rarity and Rainbow while Spike waited as patiently as possible. Finally, after about twenty minuets of non-stop arguements, Spike got fed up with waiting and breated non-magical fire close to them, but not close enough to burn them. All the noise quieted and Applejack looked up at Spike and said "So watcha here for Spike?" Spike quickly explained that Twilight needed them, and that she needed them now.

They quickly ran to the library where loud banging noises could be heard. Inside Pinkie was scanning through the books at the speed of light and throwing the books behind her so Fluttershy could double-check. When she was done she passed them to Twilight so she could triple-check. She passes her books to back to Pinkie so the cycle of checking could continue. Spike opened the door to only have five seconds to duck. A loud smacking sound could be heard when one of Pinkie's books hit poor Spikes face. After a few seconds the book fell off of Spike and he fell over backwards. A few minutes of awkward silence followed.

"Okay, well all of us are here, but Spike passed out from Pinkie's book." Twilight said, breaking the silence. All five ponies glared at their hyperactive friend. "Opsie! I must have just timed it wrong. It was supposed to hit the door and fall down. Then Spike had to trip on it! It would have been the perfect way to get him back for pranking me so good!"

FLASHBACK

Pinkie was walking down to Sugarcube Corner when she saw a purple sign with green writing on it. "Hmmm... 'Go this way for free cupcakes'." Pinkie's face lit up at the word 'cupcakes' and she ran quickly down to the right where the sign pointed. She stopped at each sign and ran to each direction it pointed to. Eventually, she found a small blue house with a sign in front that said 'Free cupcakes inside!'. Pinkie knocked on the small white door and waited a few seconds. After she managed to think up a song to pass the time she heard a voice. "Come in if you are here for the cupcakes." The voice seemed familier to her, but she threw the thought away and walked in. She saw a plate of cupcakes on a table with a card that has the word 'Free' on it. What she didn't know is that Spike came up behind her while she was inhaling the treats. He had one very full water balloon in his hand and threw it at her. Pinkie was soaked and so were was her dessert. He was rolling on the floor laughing after the sucessful prank, and soon Pinkie was too.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Well, it was a good prank Pinkie, but its not a good idea to make Spike trip on one of my books." Twilight said. "Now lets get down to business."

Twilight showed each pony the letter from Celestia and explained that she couldn't find any information based on the description of the dragon. She also looked at Spike (who was still on the ground) and said she will leave him here. After all, it was safer.

"We must need the Elements of Harmony if a dragon like that can take down Celestia." Rarity said after each pony was done. "Yeah but how did a dragon with that power even get through Equestria without bein' noticed?" Applejack asked the others. "Ah don't see how its possible."

Twilight didn't notice that little piece of information until now. There were very powerful magic-detection spells all around each major city of Equestria. If the ponies of Canterlot and other nearby places just now noticed it was there meant that it was much more powerful than anypony anticipated. "Well then we have to hurry!" Rainbow yelled. "If we are going to take this thing down then we need to get there as fast as possible!"

"I think that we should get prepared." Twilight said to her friends. "This dragon is more powerful than we have ever seen. We need all of our Elements, food, water, camping gear, and weapons if we want to even try to get near it."

"I...um.. I don't want to use weapons Twilight. I don't want to hurt the poor dragon." Fluttershy nervously told her. "I don't like hurting other animals."

"Okay then. So we won't use weapons. Just our Elements and natural strengh to get rid of it." Twilight told Fluttershy. "Now lets go and get ready. I fear this will be a hard fight."

The six ponies gathered their supplies and gear in a similar fashion when they went to take care of a dragon that made its home in a mountain. All six stopped in front of the entrance to Ponyville with their saddlebags full of stuff. Twilight spoke up and said "Okay girls, do you have everything you need?" Each pony nodded their heads. "Alright, I learned an advanced teleportation spell that works for more ponies than the one I normally use. We will only have to walk about thirty miles from where i'm going to teleport us." Twilight started to focus on the spell, and with the help of the Element of Magic near her, it was a bit easier. She focused on the location close to the mystery dragon and pictured she and her friends in that spot. With one last final pull of magic (and an explosion), all six were transported to the location.

With a loud bang, all six ponies managed to make it to where Twilight sent them to. Applejack pulled out a map of Equestria and asked Twilight where they were. She pointed to a spot near the small city of Galloptopia and showed how far they needed to travel to where the dragon was. Applejack put away her map and the six friends started making their way down the path. After a few minutes of walking and talking, Twilight started to notice a small weight in her saddlebags. She shrugged off the thought of something in there. After all, there were books and supplies in there and she thought she must be hallucinating.

It took about a day, but they were finally within a mile to where the dragon was supposed to be. They took out their Elements just in case the dragon was closer than they thought. "I can't wait to see what this dragon looks like!" Rainbow excitedly said. "I bet it will be awesome!"

"Well we might just see it now." Twilight said to her. "Look right there." She pointed her hoof to a spot on the field where the dragon was sleeping. It had black scales just like Celestia wrote. But it also had only two feet and a pair of wings. It had a long, spiky tail and spine and all the spikes where a grayish silver color. It had very visible wing spines that were as gray as the spikes. When the girls got close to it, the dragon opeded its piercing purple eyes and yawned. It had only a few teeth, and they were spaced far apart from each other. It stood up and looked at the six colorful ponies in front of it.

"It looks awesome!" Rainbow managed to say before Twilight stuck her hoof in Rainbows mouth. "We don't want to make it angry." she quietly hissed. But it was too late. The dragon looked at all of them and spread its wings. There was a black, purple, and gray colored aura coming out of its wide wings. It then looked at the ponies and telepathicly started speaking to them. "Why do you creatures keep coming to me? I came here for a reason after Steve got rid of me from my world." the aura was starting to spread across the landscape and surrounded the ponies. "Why don't we start having fun now? You take his place, and I will wait in my world for you to get me. If you don't, well, you MIGHT be stuck forever. If you fight me, you MIGHT be free." The six ponies couldn't hear the dragon because of the loud whooshing noises surrounding them. "So long, my little ponies." the dragon said before his power teleported the six friends.

"It looks like I have some work to do." the dragon said after the ponies were gone. "Its about time I head back to the End Realm and take on the duties of the Enderman ruler. After all, I am the Ender Dragon."
