1. Episode D: Derpy Day Surprise!
Note: Hello ponies! Just thought I'd do something for Derpy Day, so I came up with this short story for a few laughs. I use characters from my other story, The Phoenix Rises, so you may not be familiar with them. Just know that Leon breaks the fourth wall, Draco is a fairly dimwitted dragon, and that they get into mishap! Review please, so that I may continue the miniseries of the group and their misadventures after this first chapter! Sorry for being so long, but without further ado, enjoy!
Background: Takes place in the five year gap between The Phoenix Rises and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, specifically a year afterwards. This is canon to my story, but not to the actual MLP series. I do not own My Little Pony or any other franchises I reference here.
Chapter D: Derpy Day!
Leon and the Spiritual Searchers had all gathered in Sugarcube Corner, and were allowed by the owners Mr. and Mrs. Cake to prepare the shop. They were all older than before, now at the age of nineteen, and they had recently moved to Ponyville some time ago. They were all getting the shop ready for some reason, and judging by the streamers and confetti around the shop, it seemed like they were getting a party together. Leon, Cloud, Orion, and Doc were tending to decorations, using both wing power and magic to decorate the shop. Chloe, Annabelle, Percy, and Draco were tending to the catering, making muffins, and laying out silverware.
"Remind me again why we're doing this, Leon?" asked Draco. His voice was slightly deeper than before, but he still had the know-it-all attitude.
"Today is March 1st, and if you don't know what that means, we'll have to embarrassingly lecture you!" Leon exclaimed gleefully, looking towards … OK, you know what? He broke the fourth wall, like he always does!
"If it wasn't obvious by now, yes, I did." Leon said to the wall. He turned back to Draco. "Anyway, today is Derpy Day!"
"What's that?" asked Draco stupidly.
Every pony stared at Draco with a shocked look on their face. "Are you serious? You don't know what Derpy Day is?" asked Chloe.
"Well, it's a hoofiday that we ponies celebrate in commemoration of the one and only, Derpy Hooves, the one pony recognized by the creators of the MLP universe from fans!" Leon explained this very slowly so Draco could comprehend.
"MLP universe? What's that?" Draco asked.
Leon looked at him in disbelief. "You know what, you wouldn't understand," stated Leon.
"I honestly don't understand either," said Chloe.
He stood with disappointment, but remembered that he only had this ability. "Never mind."
Draco was irritated that they regarded him as stupid for not recognizing the hoofiday, and he muttered under his breath, "Stupid ponies." He then raised his voice. "OK, so how do we celebrate this 'hoofiday' then?"
"Well, we have to eat at least one muffin by the end of the day." Annabelle gestured to the oven as she said this.
"We have to deliver a letter to the wrong pony," explained Percy.
"We have to hoof-write at least one letter and deliver it to a good friend," explained Cloud.
"Make this face anytime we come up to a mirror," Leon explained. He had inverted his eyes so that one stared upward and the other stared downward.
"And wear an article of clothing that is grey," explained Doc. That's when Draco realized that the ponies were all wearing grey versions of their usual clothing. Percy had a grey top hat, Annabelle had a grey winter cap, Chloe had worn a grey cape, Doc wore grey contacts over his usual purple eyes, Leon wore a grey vest, and Cloud wore a grey flight cap.
"Well, what about me? I need some grey too!" Draco complained.
Leon grabbed a can of grey paint, and threw all of the contents inside at Draco, covering him head to toe in grey. "There, now you can stop your complaining and get ready before Derpy and her friends come. The muffins should be ready any minute now." Leon turned to look at the oven, and stood shocked. "Holy pony! Holy pony! The oven! It's burning! IT'S BURNING!" he yelled. The oven was indeed burning now, and they had all panicked.
"What happened!? We set the time right, the temperature wasn't too high!" Chloe exclaimed.
A pink pony then emerged from another room hopping up and down, and, you guessed it, was excited. She looked at the ponies, and waved hello. "Hey guys! OOH! I smell something cooking! Do you guys smell something cooking? It's like a mix of muffins and burnt toast! OOH I THINK IT'S BURNT FRENCH TOAST!" she exclaimed quickly and excitedly.
The Searchers all stared at her questioningly. "Um, who's that?" Leon asked the wall.
"Who are you asking?" asked Draco.
"The fourth wall, who do you think?" Leon waited for a response.
The pink pony was no other than Pinkamena Diane Pie, fourteen years old as of the timeline, and hyperactive, but good-natured.
"No, silly, that's not it! My name is Pinkie Pie!" she responded to the wall.
There was apparently a big difference between her two names, so let's just call her Pinkie Pie. Seems I forgot she could speak fourth wall.
"You can speak fourth wall as well?" Leon asked.
"Sure can! OH! Whatcha doing here? OOH! Is it to make muffins for Derpy Day!?" she exclaimed questioningly.
"Yep!" He said proudly with a satisfied look on his face. He stood still with a blank look on his face afterwards, and remembered that the oven was on fire. "Oh, Celestia! The oven's still burning!" He ran to the oven, wondering what could have gone wrong. He saw that the muffins were almost ready, but they were cooking at a temperature of over 9000… degrees!
"Chloe… I thought the temperature was just fine!" Leon exclaimed.
"It was! It was at 450 degrees when we put in the muffins!" Chloe exclaimed.
Pinkie Pie ran up to the oven. "She didn't do that! I did! I did the right math, and figured rather than wait for thirty minutes, I'd have them ready in five!" she stated proudly, clearly unaware of what could happen when the oven was that hot.
"I don't think that oven will last much longer, so… let's get OUTTA HERE!" exclaimed Orion.
All the ponies fled from the shop, and ran for cover. After hiding for some time, they all looked over behind their cover, looking at the shop. They all looked in relief that the shop was completely untouched. "False alarm, Searchers. I think it's safe to go inside now…" Leon didn't finish his sentence before a rumbling came from the shop. He looked down in disappointment, sighed, and turned back to Pinkie Pie. "Wanna do the honors with me?" he asked her.
"Sure!" she said with a smile. Both Leon and Pinkie raised their voices for what was about to happen next.
"WHAT THE FU…" they both shouted at the top of their voices, before the shop's roof exploded and came completely off the building. Bits of roof and many muffins rained down from the sky.
"Whoa!" Draco said. He looked up, and showed fear in his face. "Oh, not again..." A piece of roof landed on him, and he lay injured under it. After some time passed, a voice came from under the rubble. "I'm OK…" Draco said weakly.
The Searchers all turned around to find Derpy, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and some other ponies behind them. They all stared in horror at the remains of the shop, wondering what could have gone wrong. "What… What… happened… to my… shop!?" asked Mrs. Cake with very much dread in her voice. Mr. Cake could not handle this, and he fainted on the spot.
"Um… Derpy Day?" responded Leon pathetically. A muffin fell out of the sky and fell into his hoof. He stuck out his hoof and offered them a baked good. "Muffin?" he said weakly.
Derpy took the muffin without hesitation, and smiled with joy. She devoured the entire muffin in one bite, and stood with a blank look on her face. Leon and the Searchers waited with dread and anxiety at what she thought of the muffins. She then smiled very excitedly, and showed glee at the taste of the muffin. "Whoa! Muffin and chocolate chip flavored! Thanks a ton, Leon!" she exclaimed.
The Searchers all looked at her dumbfounded, and began to laugh, and so did Derpy. The other ponies soon joined in too. All of them began laughing … well, except for Mrs. Cake. She looked at all of them in shock. "I don't get what's so funny! My shop is burned to the ground! How is this a laughing matter?" But her ranting was drowned out by the sound of laughter from the whole square.
Leon, Pinkie, the Searchers, the Mane 6...er I mean Mane 5, Derpy, and other famous background ponies turned toward the fourth wall. "Happy Derpy Day, from Equestria to you!" they all shouted. "Eat muffins and be grey!" Leon turned toward Derpy. "And why, Derpy, do we do this?"
"I don't know! Therefore, muffins!" she exclaimed happily.
Note: Well, shucks! What do y'all think? May continue the series of mishaps if this gets enough reviews! Whatever happens, hope you enjoyed this one! Remember, this is a different work than my other one, but takes place in the same universe. Thanks for reading!
2. Episode 1: Icebreakers (Part 1)
Note: Hey guys! Glad to hear you liked the first chapter, so here's another one! Will be updating this story more often, like on Mondays and Fridays. Thanks for the reviews, y'all! Let's see what's in store for the Searchers today in Ponyville...
The Searchers had all gathered in the library, Doc's new home in Ponyville. They had asked Derpy to introduce them to the town, as they had all recently moved in. They did not know any pony, or any locations in Ponyville, so they asked Derpy to show them around.
"OK! We are now inside the library; a house tree with a lot of books inside!" Derpy said. They all stared at her with frustration.
"Um… don't you mean tree house?" Doc said.
"Oh… right!" Derpy said.
"Uh, Derpy? We know that already. We want to know more about the other places in town," stated Leon.
"Oh, well why didn't you say so? Follow me!" she exclaimed as she led them outside the house. She led them through town, and stopped at a shop in the corner. "This here is Sugarcube Corner!"
"We know that Derpy… unfortunately," Leon stated shamefully, remembering that he blew the roof off of the shop. That was their first day in the town, and it didn't end up well. During that day, they had planned a party for Derpy Day, but a pony had accidently set the oven too high, and caused the roof to explode. He and the Searchers had helped to clean up the mess soon afterwards, and had strained their relations with the storeowners.
"Don't worry; I'm sure the Cakes won't hold a grudge, especially after blowing up their store! Plus, Pinkie Pie had already told them she set the oven too high. Besides, she said she didn't have enough time to welcome you all yesterday, so she wanted to do it today!" Derpy said excitedly.
Leon glared at Derpy. "That doesn't make me feel better," he said annoyed.
"But I know what will..." she hinted.
She led them all inside, and they all received a yell of surprise. Leon freaked out, and ran towards the door, unaware that Derpy had already shut it. He slammed into it, and fell onto the floor dazed. "OWWW!" he said painfully. The ponies inside looked with concern at Leon, but he brushed off his daze and returned to normal. "I'm OK. I just need to relax my head…" He was interrupted by the sound of a blare horn going off near his ears. His head rang even more, and he clenched his head in pain. "Yep! That made it much worse!" he exclaimed.
Pinkie Pie stood next to him, smiling and holding an air horn in her hoof. "Welcome to Ponyville, guys! I didn't introduce myself yesterday! My name's Pinkie Pie! What's yours!?" she exclaimed quickly.
Trying to absorb everything that just happened, Leon regained himself yet again. "Well, I'm Leon! I just moved here two days ago. So did some of my friends as well," he explained.
"My name is Chloe, and I'm also new here. I'm a vet and a medic," Chloe explained.
"My name is Doc, and I live in the library here," Doc said.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Percival William Preston III or 'Percy' for short," Percy stated.
"Well, howdy! My name is Annabelle, and I grow and harvest clovers back home!" Annabelle exclaimed. "Care to introduce us to your friends, Pinkie?" she asked.
"OOH! Good idea, Annie!" she exclaimed in response. Annabelle did not like that she was called "Annie" by Pinkie, and she pouted. Pinkie went up to the storeowners, Mr. and Mrs. Cake. "I think you already met the Cakes, but if you haven't, here they are! Mr. and Mrs. Cake! Not only do they own this shop, but I help them out a lot with the baked goods!"
Leon and the other Searchers looked with guilty faces away from the Cakes, and the Cakes went up to them. "Welcome to Ponyville, ponies! Don't worry about yesterday; it's all in the past. Besides, you were kind enough to help clean up the mess. We thank you for that," Mr. Cake said.
They seemed to feel better, and Pinkie went to the next pony in line. She was an orange filly with green eyes, about the same age as Pinkie, with her blond mane brushed and tied at the end. She had a cutie mark depicting three apples. "This here is Applejack! She grows a bunch of apples here and then sells them to us! Kind of like your friend Annie with her clovers!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Howdy there, y'all! It's a pleasure to meet ya!" Applejack responded. The Searchers noticed she spoke with a Southern accent, similar to, but not exactly like Annabelle's Midwestern accent.
"Hey guys, recognize the accent?" teased Cloud.
"I sure do, Cloud! Annabelle?" responded Leon sarcastically. They both snickered and laughed a bit.
"I don't talk with an accent!" both Applejack and Annabelle denied simultaneously. They turned to each other in shock, and looked back to see every pony in the shop laughing. Both ponies' faces turned red with anger, but they managed to hold their temper.
Pinkie then led the Searchers to the next pony, also Pinkie's age. She was a white filly with dark blue eyes. Her mane was a dark purple, well groomed, brushed, and clean. Her cutie mark showed three diamonds. "Leon, this here is Rarity! She helps make dresses and suits and outfits and costumes and everything else to do with clothes!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"It's a delight to meet you all," she said pleasantly. Leon and the others extended their hooves to meet her, but she reeled back. "Oh, um… yes. I… I don't believe you have all groomed. Excuse me," she said. Leon and the others looked at her in annoyance, and noticed she spoke in a very prestigious tone. Obviously a valley filly. Leon thought to himself.
"Um, Percy, you know sophistication more than any of us here. What did she mean by that?" Cloud asked.
"She's afraid of bacteria and microbes, as well as dirt, grime, muck, and dust. I am as well, but not enough to not shake a pony's hoof when it's offered," Percy responded. Rarity was amazed that he understood her, but a bit ashamed that she was deemed lower than Percy in terms of prestige and mannerism. She lowered her head in a mix of shame and annoyance.
Pinkie then went up to the next pony. She seemed a bit older than Pinkie and the others, but was offset by something. She was a yellow Pegasus, with a pink mane that covered most of her head. She had light blue eyes, and a cutie mark of three butterflies. "Her name's Fluttershy! She doesn't speak much, but she's very kind! She talks to animals, and helps take care of them!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Well, hi, Fluttershy!" the Searchers all said.
Fluttershy stood there, looking off to the side, swinging her foreleg back and forth. She didn't speak up, and still looked away.
"Um… hi?" Leon said. He knew how being shy was like, considering he was very hesitant many times before. She turned to him, and looked away quickly. She then whimpered, and continued staring at the ground.
"You like helping animals? So do I. Maybe you can let me help sometime soon," Chloe offered.
Fluttershy nodded, still whimpering softly. "OK… who else is here, Pinkie?" Leon asked.
"OH! Right, this here is our friend, Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie said, motioning to a cyan Pegasus filly with a rainbow-colored mane. She was the same age as Pinkie, but she seemed to act much younger than that. Her cutie mark was a storm cloud with a rainbow-colored lightning bolt.
Leon didn't bother to greet her. I've known this pony before. Even though she's about five years younger than me, her ego is enough to reach even the Pegasi back home. "I believe I know her. Cloudsdale, right?" Leon asked unpleasantly.
"The one and only! How did you know that? Am I that famous!?" she boasted.
No… you wish you were. You're the one who made that Sonic Rainboom that we saw at Clover Ranch. Celestia told me that you made it. Wait a minute… Leon turned to Cloud. "Hey, Cloud. She apparently has never heard of you. Tell her about your skills." Leon had intentionally mentioned Cloud so that she could show Rainbow a thing or two.
Rainbow Dash instead challenged her. "Oh, really? What 'skills' does she have? I can do a Sonic Rainboom, so what does she have that I don't?" bragged Rainbow.
Cloud, now a bit annoyed at the filly, now had accepted the challenge. "How about an EMP? Can you do that, Rainbow?" asked Cloud arrogantly.
"I don't know what in Celestia an EMP is. But I bet it's less radical than my Sonic Rainboom," Rainbow argued.
Cloud, not wanting to take any more smack from this young filly, stomped her hoof on the ground, and stared angrily at Rainbow. "You think your hot stuff, Skittles? How about you and me race around the town? First to fly seven laps wins; you game or are you all talk and no walk?" Cloud challenged.
Rainbow, having been justly insulted by Cloud, also replied angrily. "Who you calling Skittles, old timer!? All right then, we'll race. But not just that… you're also gonna show me your EMP, and I'll show off my Sonic Rainboom. We'll see who's better than whom at the end of it." With that, Cloud and Rainbow stared each other down.
"Well, I'm glad we all got along so well! We should get along with this party, cause there's cake and ice cream and brownies and muffins and punch!" Pinkie exclaimed excitedly. She obviously did not notice the tension in the room.
"Oh, boy, here we go with this again…" Leon said.
Note: This episode is gonna be a two-parter. The reason being because I didn't want it so long, but I'll update the story with the second part tomorrow, so you don't wait long. Thanks again, and hope to see you guys back!
Also, going to post Friendship is Undead earlier than intended, like on Sunday or Monday, seeing as many like zombie ponies. This story and Spiritual Setback WILL be updated until completed, seeing as many stories I read about zombies are not. Thanks again!
3. Episode 2: Icebreakers (Part 2)
Note: Part 2 of Icebreakers! So far, the two groups have gotten onto each other's nerves. Will they ever get along, or will I be as devious as to continue making them hate each other? Find out now!
The party was going relatively well so far. Leon, Chloe, Doc, Draco, Pinkie Pie, and Percy all seemed to be having a good time. Annabelle and Applejack were still offended by the other ponies saying they sounded alike, and sat down pouting at the table. Rarity was trying to teach herself to not fear dirt by tossing something in the trash, but every time she got near the trash can, she would run away in fear, shouting and screaming. Fluttershy was sitting alone in the corner, staying as far away from the others as possible. Cloud and Rainbow had been at each other's throats during the entire party. They would try to grab food before the other did, drink punch quickly in a race, and would shove each other.
Leon had noticed all of this happening, and he wanted to do something to ease the tension inside. He couldn't eat anymore cake, and he pushed it aside. We shouldn't be fighting with each other just after we met. I need to do something about this… Pinkie Pie stared at Leon, and nodded.
"I agree! We should do something so they stop being down in the dumps!" she demanded.
"Wait… how did you know what I was thinking? I didn't say it out loud!" Leon accused.
"Remember? I can read and speak fourth wall. I thought you could too!" she said.
"I can! Just… think about something completely random and I'll guess what it is," Leon argued.
"Okey-Dokey-Lokey!" Pinkie exclaimed. She stuck her tongue out, and was deep in thought. How about Gummy!? No, wait, how about that one time I got my head stuck in a rock!? OOH! Better yet, a cupcake pony! Or, how about that one time…
"AHHHH! STOP! YOU'RE THINKING TOO MUCH!" Leon exclaimed.
"Well, what did I think about?" Pinkie said.
"You said something about a Gummy, then about getting stuck in a rock, then a cupcake pony, and then I yelled at you to stop," Leon said with annoyance.
"You got it! What were we saying earlier? Oh, right, we gotta help our friends out!" Pinkie said.
"Right… Percy, you should talk to Annabelle." Leon stopped as he saw Rarity running away in shock from the garbage can, screaming. "And Rarity, for that matter."
"On it, Leon," Percy said.
"OK, and Fluttershy, you talk to Applejack! We should let Cloud and Rainbow race, so that they could stop on their own. OK, one two three go!" Pinkie exclaimed, and she shot out like a rocket towards Cloud and Rainbow, shouting for them to race right now.
"Um… I don't really want to…" Fluttershy said… no… whispered.
"Fluttershy, this is for Applejack, your friend. Friends help friends. What do you say?" Leon stated.
"Oh… oh… OK," Fluttershy whispered simply.
They all nodded to each other, and headed to their little ponies.
…
Percy first headed to Annabelle, who was now sitting with Applejack. She turned to see him, but then looked away. "Remember that big argument we had before we got together? You said I spoke in a Southern Drawl. I really don't appreciate the fact that they think a pony like me is a Southern Belle. I feel worse than the cow that was branded during drought season," Annabelle said sadly.
"Annabelle, it wasn't meant to be a putdown, it was meant to be a jest. They would never want you to feel bad on purpose. I'm sure they'll express their sincere apologies to you," Percy said.
Annabelle looked up to Percy. "You know something? You're absolutely right! They're my friends, and they sure wouldn't want me to feel miserable. Thanks, Percy," Annabelle said more enthusiastically. "I wonder why Applejack would be upset, though."
Fluttershy approached Applejack, who spoke soothingly to her. "Um… Applejack? You shouldn't be angry with them. I'm sure they weren't referring to you when they heard Annabelle."
"Fluttershy dear, I don't think they meant that in a good way. They meant for it to be a joke, using me and that other pony as the scapegoats. I feel worse than a trailer park after tornado season," Applejack said.
"Applejack, they're new here. They don't know us well, so they may not know what makes you mad. I think they wanted to ease the nervousness in here. If it would help, they could apologize. How about it, Applejack?" Fluttershy asked.
"Hmm… All right, Fluttershy. I'll try to get these ponies welcomed. Maybe they'll know us better than two peas in a pod!" Applejack said.
"That's… um… good. Glad to hear…" Fluttershy said quietly.
Pinkie Pie then shot towards the two and announced, "Hey guys! There's gonna be a race outside right now! Come on, come on, come on, come on! It's about to start!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"A race, huh? Who's riding in this race?" asked Applejack.
"Rainbow Dash! And this other pony… um… that I don't know!" Pinkie replied excitedly.
Applejack, Annabelle, Pinkie, and Fluttershy headed to where the two Pegasi were preparing to race. They each stretched their wings, legs, and sides. About a moment later, the remaining Searchers and Mane 5 headed outside to view the spectacle. The race was to be a good one, and every pony in town was watching the race. Cloud and Rainbow lined up at the starting line, and ducked down.
The referee was none other than Princess Celestia, who heard about the race and came down. "Princess Celestia!? What are you doing here!?" Leon asked incredibly.
Completely unlike herself for some reason, she answered Leon. "I heard there was a race going on, and I placed my bets on Cloud Runner." She turned to Cloud Runner, and shouted at her. "You can show this little filly who's boss, Cloud! I've got my money on you!" she yelled out happily. She sounded much differently than she usually did, and Leon recognized the voice. I hate bananas… and cannons… and moon launchers.
He turned to the fourth wall barrier yet again, and asked a question. "Do you like bananas?"
Pinkie Pie burst in from out of nowhere. "NOT AS MUCH AS I LOVE THE MOOOOON!" she exclaimed.
The race was about to start, and Celestia readied the racers. She raised the flag. Cloud looked over at Rainbow, and she looked back. They were seriously competitive with each other, and would not let the other show them up. Celestia then waved the flag, and the two Pegasi took off quickly, leaving behind a cloud of dust.
The race was seven laps around the skies of Ponyville, and then a performance of each racer's special talent. As Celestia as the judge, the ultimate decision would be official. The better racer would be determined. Who would it be? Find out next time on Spiritual Setback!
…
"Wait, wait, wait, wait! Don't be one of those authors who leave cliffhangers, especially in a comedy!" Leon said.
Hoping to stay out of this, Leon was flung back to the ground below. "Hey! You can't do this! I brought you fame…!" he said. Leon, suddenly making sense for once, stopped flying, and landed safely on his hooves on the ground below.
"That's better… now on with the story!" Leon exclaimed.
…
Cloud and Rainbow both flew at record breaking speeds, and had flown through clouds shaped as rings to pass through. They both passed through the rings very quickly, and had already gotten one lap down. On each of their minds were two thoughts.
On Cloud's mind she thought to herself. This pony can believe in the rainbow, but she can't taste it! I'll beat her, no problem! Also on her mind was a song she suggested was her theme song. It was the William Tell Overture Finale.
On Rainbow's mind she thought to herself. This old timer thinks she moves as fast as lightning? We'll see who's left in the dust after this race! On her mind was a song as well, like Cloud, but it was Ride of the Valkyries.
They both continued at their speeds, and got through the other laps like nothing. The last two laps would prove to be grueling for the two racers. Cloud, just ahead of Rainbow Dash, was flying smoothly, while Rainbow Dash was tiring out and weary. Cloud had finished the lap, and was on the last one. She noticed how tired Rainbow Dash was, and she went up to her, feeling a bit bad for her. "Hey, what do you say we just call off this race, shake on it, and say it was a good run?" Cloud suggested.
Rainbow was breathing heavily, and replied to her. "No… way… I'm might lose the race… but not the performance!" she gasped out. Cloud, seeing her determination, let her continue the race, while Cloud finished the race.
Cheering came from all of the ponies, and Cloud landed to a cheering crowd of ponies who lifted her up and praised her. Rainbow flew back down in utter defeat and humiliation. The Searchers and the Mane 5 congratulated her as well, but it was nothing compared to the crowd Cloud had.
"It's not over yet," said Rainbow Dash grudgingly.
"I think it's safe to say that Cloud won the race," Celestia announced. One of the guards disappointedly handed her a sack of bits, and she placed them away. "Now for the performance competition: You will each perform your signature Mach 1 abilities. Cloud, you will go first."
"OK…" she said as she readied herself yet again. She then flew up very high, high enough to where she couldn't see the ponies on the ground anymore. She then waited for a dramatic pause, and then shot down like a falcon towards the ground. She built up much electricity behind her, and she continued at her speed. She eventually built a field of electricity around her, and when she finally reached Mach 1, all of the energy around her exploded out. It was a dazzling display of blue lightning, but Cloud didn't realize that without her sword, she couldn't direct the energy from the EMP.
The electricity went everywhere, shutting off all electronics in Ponyville, including all lights, appliances, and worst of all, Celestia's Walkman. Celestia then realized what had caused this, and when Cloud landed, she shook her head disappointedly. "My Walkman busted while I was listening to Rolling Stones; therefore, if Rainbow Dash can perform her Mach 1 ability, she wins the performance!" She then sent a guard out to fetch some kind of power source that was still working to charge it back up.
Rainbow Dash, determined to win the performance, flew up excitedly, wanting to show off her Sonic Rainboom. She flew up to where Cloud was positioned before flying, and she prepared herself to dive. She shot down like a fighter jet, gathering light of all colors behind her. It was a magnificent display of colors dancing in the wind, but then Rainbow Dash hit Mach 1, sending a beautiful explosion of color and light everywhere, while a rainbow followed her. She landed on the ground confidently, and a huge crowd welcomed her back with a loud cheer.
"Rainbow Dash wins the performance!" Celestia announced happily.
Every pony stared at her with confusion, and Leon walked up to her. "But… who won the entire competition?" he asked.
"Ready to learn a lesson, Leon? It's not always about winning… it's about doing what you do best! Cloud was faster, and Rainbow Dash was more graceful, but they both performed outstandingly."
All of the ponies were struck with the realization that she was right, and they all face hoofed themselves. Cloud walked up to Rainbow Dash, and stuck her hoof out. "That was a great run, Rainbow Dash, and… I'm sorry for calling you out."
Rainbow shook her hoof proudly. "Are you kidding? You were awesome! I guess I'm sorry for insulting you." They made amends, and the Searchers and Mane 5 cheered.
"All right, guys, I knew we'd all get along! I can't wait until we go off on adventures as a group! In fact, I heard the one guy who does all this is sending us across time! I don't know what that means, but it sounds like fun!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"PINKIE! Way to give away our next misadventure." Leon then turned to the fourth wall. "You heard it here! Next week, we each go to different time periods! Will we somehow screw up the present? Will we change the past? Will we see into the future? Find out next week, ponies!" Leon exclaimed. Every pony was staring at him and Pinkie in confusion, and wondered who they were talking to.
Passage: "Well, thanks for spoiling it, Pinkie Pie..." Author said annoyed.
"No problem!" she said excitedly, hopping out.
"Well, that's all the time for this week! Log in next time to see the Searchers and Mane 5 go through time and have whacky mishaps! See y'all next time!" Author said as he shut off the lights to the talk room, and left the building.
4. Episode 3: Time Turner
Back again, everybody, with a brand new episode of Spiritual Setback! The Searchers and Mane 5 yet again get into mischief, and the results may destroy their world! Will a mysterious Time Lord be able to help them? Find out now!
The Searchers and the Mane 5 were all outside, doing their usual daily chores. Rainbow, Derpy, and Cloud helped to clear the sky, Rarity was helping Percy with making a tuxedo, Pinkie and Leon were busy reading Draco's thoughts while laughing hysterically, Fluttershy and Chloe were tending to some of the pets the Mane 5 had, and Annabelle and Applejack were busy cultivating crops. Doc was outside, reading a book, when he saw a flash of light in the sky. He then saw a bright, blue box come out of the sky and land in a small clearing somewhere nearby.
Curious, Doc headed over to where the box landed, and saw that it was a police box. He inspected it closely. It's a bit out of date with the time period. It looks very small. He found a hatch inside, and opened it. He was amazed by how much roomier it was inside than it looked outside. Not only that, but there were many flashing consoles inside as well, and many rooms all over the interior. That wasn't what stood out to Doc though.
Inside, a pony was lying on the ground. He wore a black jacket, and had a buzz cut mane. He had an hourglass on his flank, and Doc went over to him. Doc checked his pulse, and noticed he was barely alive. Doc dragged him out of the machine, and called for Chloe and Fluttershy to help him. They both galloped to Doc, and checked on the mysterious pony.
He coughed a bit, and he struggled when he spoke. "What… where am I?" the pony asked in a Northern voice. He was breathing hard, and he couldn't move.
"You're in Ponyville… we're here to help you!" Chloe announced.
"Don't… bother… it's time for a new… regeneration…" the pony said.
"What? Come on!" Chloe said, using her magic, but could not heal him.
"My body is… destroyed… from the inside," the pony explained. "Like I said… don't bother." He laughed a bit, and he collapsed. Chloe checked his pulse, and declared that he was dead. His body then began to glow, and he shone a bright yellow light. He glowed for some time, before the glowing ceased, and the pony was no longer there. Instead, a different pony took his place, bearing a tan hide, blue eyes, and spiked brown mane, but bearing the same cutie mark. He stood up perfectly, and at first seemed perfectly fine. He looked around, and noticed everything was… different.
"What? Where am I?" he asked in an Estuary voice.
The three ponies were surprised that the pony before was dying, but after this change, was perfectly fine. Doc stammered a bit before answering. "Um… you're in Ponyville. I'm sorry… who are you?"
"I'm… AH!" he stopped as he had a spasm before he answered them. Chloe and Fluttershy both went to him, and used their skills to heal him. He lay on the ground for a bit before he got back up, and shook himself off. "That's… better! Thank you for that. Allow me to introduce myself… I am the Doctor."
"Doctor? That's a profession, not a name," Doc said.
"It's… wait, I feel I've said this before… anyways, it's all I have," he responded.
"Are you a physician?" Doc asked.
"No… I'm a scientist… something of that sort. Excuse me, but my head hurts, and I need rest…" he said as he laid his head on the grass. "That's better."
"Well, allow me to introduce myself. I am Doc, and I happened to notice you crashed your… box… nearby." As Doc said this, the Doctor slowly stood up. He struggled, seeing that he had four legs instead of the usual two as a Time Lord did. He stood awkwardly, and spoke.
"Doc? Are you a doctor as well?" he asked.
"Well, yes and no. I can heal most as though I am one, but I am not licensed. She is though," Doc said, pointing to Chloe.
"Well, I thank you three for helping me out. Did you say a box crashed nearby as well?" the Doctor asked.
"Yeah, the one that you crashed in… what was it? I've never seen anything like it!" Doc exclaimed.
"Ah, yes, you entered the TARDIS, the machine I used to get here. It must have malfunctioned, which explains why I am equine. Which dimension did I land in this time?" he asked, looking around. "Seems very colorful, many bright colors, sun shining like never before… it appears I have landed in a very peaceful environment."
As he was here, the other Searchers and Mane 5 came up to see where the others had gone. They saw them, and saw the Doctor as well. "Hey, who's this guy?" Leon asked.
"His name is the Doctor. He crashed here from a box, and I guess healed himself," Doc said.
"Healed himself? What do you mean by that?" Leon asked.
"Well, he was dead, and then he came back to life, but came out looking differently… it's strange," Doc said.
"You mean like reincarnation?" Leon said.
Doc was surprised Leon knew some much about this. "Ye… yes. How did you know?" he asked.
"Well, for the Doctor, it's more of regeneration, since he is still here, but in a different form. You said he was found in a box?" Leon asked.
"Yes. Follow me," Doc said as they all walked to the TARDIS. Derpy, straying from the group, met with the Doctor.
"So… you crashed down here?" she asked him.
"Well, in a way, yes I did. I should probably set a course for home, unless… no. I should stay here for a bit longer. See the dimension I landed in first before I leave," he said.
"Um… did you fall and hit your head when you crashed? Because what you said made no sense!" she said excitedly.
"Oh… I'm sorry. Let me put in in more comprehendible terms… I am a time traveler. Time Lord to be exact. I usually use logic to solve problems wherever I land. Like now, I have to find a way to get out of here, but not yet," the Doctor said.
Completely ignoring his lecture, Derpy smiled at him. "Well, as long as you're here, I can make delicious muffins for you!" Derpy said.
"Perhaps an English muffin does sound delectable right now…" the Doctor said.
They all soon reached the TARDIS, and entered. Leon, Cloud, Rainbow, and Pinkie instinctively pressed every button they saw. Doc and the others looked surprisingly at them, and had to do something quick. "Hey! We don't know what any of this stuff does! Don't randomly push buttons!" Doc yelled out.
"It says to right here," Leon said, holding what appeared to be a book titled Spiritual Setback. They continued to randomly push buttons, until the Doctor came up to them. "Oh, no… you've all been setting different time periods in this dimension. That only means…" he sighed, and looked back at them. "Wherever you chose as the period is where we'll be stopping. Let's see… one year ago… forty seconds ago… four years later… fourteen years later… oh, my. You're all going to be scattered across time," he said.
"What?" Leon asked. But then he was thrown out of the TARDIS, as well as Cloud and Rainbow.
"Whoa, what the…" Draco said, before he too was thrown out along with Orion and Pinkie.
"Amazing…" Doc said before he, Rarity, and Percy were thrown out.
"And lastly… us…" the Doctor disappointedly said as the rest of the group stopped and were tossed out of the TARDIS.
…
Leon woke up to find himself somewhere, but he didn't know where. He appeared to be in a building somewhere, but he didn't know where. He looked out the window, and saw that he was just on the outskirts of Ponyville, inside some pony's house. Wow, that trip was much more than I was expecting! Whose house is this? He then went outside the house, and saw a pony coming towards him. "Hey, Dad! What are you doing here?" the pony asked.
Dad? No, that couldn't be… Alan? He did look very much like Leon's son, except older. "Hey, sport! Just visiting Ponyville…" Leon responded. Except… he didn't respond. Something inside him made him say that, and he suddenly obtained many memories, memories he did not have before. Alan was much older than he was before, almost fifteen years old. He noticed Alan looked very much like Leon at that age.
"Oh, OK!" he said as he went inside his house, and waited for Leon. Leon followed Alan inside, and Alan escorted him to the guest room. "There you are! Draco should be back any moment, so I'm gonna go to Dinky's house. See you in a bit!" he said as he left.
Dinky? Wait, older Alan, Dinky with a house… I think that TARDIS took me to the future! Leon got out of the guest room, and went to the kitchen to get a bite to eat. He heard the door open, and Draco, taller than he appeared in the past, came in through the door. He saw Leon, and greeted him. "Oh, hey Leon… whoa, hey Leon! What's up!? Didn't think you'd be here…" as he said this, he hid something behind his back. Leon ignored it. Leon did notice that Draco sounded much more laid back, and his voice was deeper.
"Say, what year is it? I kind of lost track…" Leon said.
"Um… it's 3032 A.C. Are you losing track of time already?" Draco asked.
"Yeah… you could say that. I don't suppose you know where Chloe is at?" Leon asked.
"Wow. You must have lost all of your memory. She's back at Caelum, where you should 've been right now," Draco said.
"Thanks. I… I need to find Rainbow Dash and Cloud Runner. Something's up here…" Leon said.
"OK… I'm gonna be in my room… so don't bother me…" Draco said, backing slowly into his room.
Leon watched as he did, but he didn't care at the moment. Cloud and Rainbow seemed to be thrown into the future as well. I didn't see the others though. I gotta find those two first, or the others will not find me. Leon left the house, and set off to find Cloud and Rainbow.
…
The Doctor, Chloe, Annabelle, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Derpy all landed outside the TARDIS, just as it was before. They all stood up, and wondered what happened. "Doc, what happened?" Annabelle asked.
"Well, you're friends had corrupted the console, and judging by the position of the sun and the TARDIS still here, I think we only travelled a few seconds in the past," said the Doctor.
"OK, well then, where are our past selves at?" Applejack asked.
"When we travel forth in time, we merge with ourselves in that period. Technically, your friends won't exist anymore if we don't find them in the future, and if your friends in the past change it, they could destroy us all," the Doctor said.
"WHAT!? Oh, no! We gotta save them!" Chloe demanded.
"My thoughts exactly, otherwise this dimension could be warped, or destroyed," the Doctor said.
He led them all into the TARDIS again, and checked the console to the recent history of time periods visited. "First stop… one year ago… Ponyville," the Doctor said. He activated the control console, and they landed in Ponyville, exactly one year ago. They phased into the area rather than the crash landing the TARDIS had done earlier. The ponies stepped out, and looked around.
"OK, everything looks the same… did it say who was transported here?" asked Chloe.
"Apparently, two ponies, and a dragon," the Doctor responded.
"That must be Draco, Pinkie, and Orion. Does it say where they headed?" Annabelle asked.
"Let's see, the ponies in the TARDIS have a slight radiation charge on them, which should be detectable by a Geiger meter." The Doctor then pulled out a counter from the TARDIS, but struggled to grasp onto it. He dropped it, tried to pick it up again, and failed to grasp it. The ponies watched him struggle to pick it up, and he couldn't seem to figure out how to grasp it.
"Firmly grasp it in your hoof," Applejack said.
"I believe that is impossible. I can't seem to… grab it," he said frustratingly as he still attempted to grab the counter. Derpy picked it up perfectly in her hoof, and the Doctor was impressed. "How did you do that?" he asked.
"I… just grabbed it. Come on, we gotta find those ponies!" Derpy announced. She led the group to where the locations on the Geiger meter were pointing, and searched for the three ponies in the past.
To be continued! Hope y'all enjoy this episode, next one will be posted some time soon next week! Will the Doctor be able to save all of the ponies scattered in time, or will one of them inadvertently (and most likely) change the present?
