They did it. At long last, they did it! It had been months but the Doctor could now go back to his universe, and it was all thanks to Derpy Hooves. The Doctor was ecstatic "I can't believe it, I thought we would never finish this machine. I can go home now, Derpy! Isn't this wonderf-" he cut himself off.

"You okay, doctor?" asked Derpy, her left eye slowly drifting further from her right. The Doctor hesitated to answer but then replied.

"I, well…I'm going to…miss you, Derpy." Tears began to form in the Doctor's eyes, but he blinked them away. "You were a brilliant companion. I don't know how I could have come this far without you around. In fact, I probably would have been downright useless if you didn't teach me how to be a pony." Derpy couldn't help but start to form tears of her own. She hugged the Doctor tightly.

"I'm gonna miss you too, Doctor." her emotions became the best of her and tears escaped from her eyes.

"Don't you cry, Derpy, you'll be alright." he assured her.

"You were the only real friend I ever had, y'know" Derpy confessed "everypony else just makes fun of me because of my…my eyes…my stupid ugly eyes." she started crying again. The Doctor raised his hoof to wipe them away.

"Do you know what I think Derpy?" the Doctor smiled at her.

"W-what?" Derpy's lip quivered and she looked up at him.

"I think your eyes are absolutely beautiful. Gold as the sun, and perfectly unique. I really am going to miss seeing those eyes, Derpy. Those magnificent wall-eyes." The Doctor looked straight at her waiting for a reply, but she was at a loss for words. The Doctor wouldn't admit it just yet but over the course of these months spent with Derpy he truly had fallen in love with her, and the last thing that he wanted to do was leave. The Doctor and Derpy stared at each other for a while, both of them probably thinking the same thing. After about a minute he couldn't stand it anymore. Oh what the hell he thought. The Doctor leaned closer and kissed Derpy softly. She seemed shocked at first but returned the kiss. Neither of them could hold back any longer once they broke apart, and in unison declared:

"I love you"

They both smiled at each other, overwhelmed with delight. It was then when the Doctor decided that he wasn't going to leave, certainly not now. "I think I'm going to stay" he said with a smile, and this made Derpy smile from ear to ear. She hogged the Doctor again, this time knocking him right over. They both laughed and kissed each other again. The Doctor finally knew where he wanted to be. He wanted to be with his Derpy, and he would do this even if it meant calling a new place home. Home is where the heart is, and his heart belonged to Miss Derpy Hooves.
