Harry is raised by Celestia as a human.

Discord is his father figure when he is reformed. He is the Crown Prince. He should be CMC age. He should be sent to Ponyville sometime after Twilight but before Best Night Ever so he can be in that chapter. and is a new Element when Discord appears: Courage. Twilight and Shining Armor are big brother/sister figures. Spike his only friend close to his age.

Chapter 28: Dragon Quest Part 1

Summary: After feeling like and outcast for being the only alicorn in Ponyville, Harry goes with Spike on the Great Dragon Migration to investigate possible dragon ties to his alicorn heritage.

It was a quiet morning on the outskirts of Ponyville near Fluttershy's cottage. Applejack and Pinkie Pie were digging a trench nearby and Fluttershy...well...

"Come on Fluttershy, it'll be fun." Twilight told the terrified pegasus mare.

"There's nothing fun about dragons!" Fluttershy protested as Rainbow Dash dragged her by the tail...on the floor...towards the door. She really didn't want to see dragons. "Scary yes! Fun no!"

"But Fluttershy the Great Dragon Migration happens only once a generation." Twilight told the yellow mare through various shenanigans. "Do you really want to pass up a chance like that?"

Rainbow Dash was trying to push Fluttershy out the door but she had her front and back legs spread out across the doorand was hell bent on not going. "Now that you put it that way, yes!"

Twilight once again tried to convince Fluttershy to watch.

"I SAID NO!" Fluttershy said forcefully kicking Rainbow back, to the floor and in the stomache before fleeing out the window. Much to the shock of Twilight.

"Okay, I guess I'll let ya off the hook this time." Rainbow Dash said as she recovered.

Cheerilee trotted up and down ailes in her classroom monitoring students as she spoke about the Princesses.

"Princess Celestia and Princess Luna then joined the Dragon Elders in a lava bath to celebrate the new Peace Treaty and Marriage Law rescindence allowing Ponies, Dragons and Griffons to intermarry as you can see in the pictures of your textbooks."

"Yes Rumble?" Cheerilee asked the Pegasus foal.

"Did the Princesses use magic to not get burned by the lava?" Rumble aaked.

A question asked every time. Cheerilee smiled. "Nope. Alicorns have a natural immunity to lava. I once wrote to Princes Celestia when I was a filly asking what lava felt like. She replied and told me it feels like a warm mud bath and she regularly bathes in it to keep her coat and mane shiny."

The class turned to stare at their resident alicorn.

"What?" Harry asked irritably. This always happened when they learned about alicorns now.

"Have you ever took a lava bath?" Snips asked eagerly.

"No." Harry answered.

"He's probably too scared." Diamond Tiara sneered.

"I'm not scared. I just don't think its a good idea to jump into a pool of lava to see if I don't get burned alive." Harry snapped at the pink filly.

"Scaredy cat scaredy cat!" Diamond Tiara then shrieked as she felt a shock while Mss Cheerilee's back was turned. "Miss Cheerilee! Harry shocked me with his magic!" Diamond waved over to the teacher. But when she turned to look Harrh was using magic to take notes. She ignored the spoiled filly.

Later That Day...

Isn't he adorable when he waddles off in anger?" Harry heard Rarity say as he saw Spike coming his way.

"Waddle?! Ugh!" The baby dragon said in disgust.

"Hey Spike. You had a bad day too huh?" The alicorn colt asked his dragon friend.

"Nopony respects me as a dragon." Spike complained. "They only see me as Spike the BABY Dragon." He huffed as he chomped on a turquoise.

"I know the feeling. My classmates only see me as an alicorn now. Everytime we learn about Grandma and Auntie Luna they ask me if I've done the same thing." He shook his mane. "Take today for example. We learned about Grandma and Lulu bathing in lava without magic and Snips asks me if I'd done it too."

"Huh. Twilight never told me about that before." Spike said as they entered the library. Harry levitated his book to Spike, Daring Do and the Griffon Reich. "I thought only Dragons where lava proof." Spike said as he checked in the book.

Harry's ears perked in interest. "Do you think there's a possibility of dragon genes in alicorns?"

"Could be." Spike said in thought as he reshelved the book. Anythings poss-woah" The ladder he was standing wobbled and he fell on a bucket which flew into the air and landed open end and water full on his head.

Harry sighed and magically levitated the bucket off of his dragon friend and floated him a towel. Stuff like this was always happening to his friend.

"Anything's possible." Spike finished as he was drying off. "They called me...cute." He said in dismay.

"Who called you cute?" Harry asked.

"Your mom and our friends." Spike said in dismay. "Do I act like other dragons?"

"Well, you eat gems and hide them like other dragons." Harry told the baby dragons. "I kinda do that too with sweets! Maybe I have dragon instincts! Maybe even Dragon ancestry!"

"Cool! Another dragon in Ponyville!" Spike said eagerly. "Well, thanks for the conversation Harry. See you later." Spike said to his friend.

"See ya Spike. I'll bring my comics and manega by this weekend." The foal told his dragon friend.

Later that evening...

"Who am I?"

"Why am I here? How did I get here?" A hoof rubbed a lightning bolt scar.

"What am I supposed to be?"

"Sugarcube for the last time, I don't know. Ah found ya in that basket at the gates of the farm." Applejack said in the living room. She was reading a romance novel, Big Mac had his reading glasses on while perusing a farming magazine. Granny Smith was knitting and Applebloom was doing homework. "I don't know where you came from or who sent ya here. Ah only found that note with yer name."

Said note was in an envelope in Applejack's desk and Harry's basket became the family picnic basket.

"That's it?" Harry asked "I need answers." Harry got up and trotted over to the vanity mirror. "Sometimes I feel like I'm looking at a..complete stranger." He spread and looked to both his Pegasus wings and his Unicorn horn. He could feel his Earth Pony strength flowing through his body. He hung his head sadly and trotted up the stairs. "Goodnight."

"That foals more depressed than a donkey with its tail nailed on." Granny Smith said sadly as she watched Harry slowly clip clop upstairs.

"Eeyup." Big Macintosh agreed.

The next morning, Harry and Applebloom where getting ready for school when he saw dragons flying on thedragon migration. "Thats it." Harry said eagerly. He started packing a napsack.

"Whats it?" Applebloom asked.

"I'm going on a journey of self discovery." Harry said packing/shrinking a blanket and pillow. "I'm going on the Great Dragon Migration."

"WHAT?!"

"Don't tell momma." Harry said, slamming the door shut and magically locked it. Applebloom tried to open the door.

"Harry! Open this door right now!" The filly kicked the door. It wouldn't budge.

"Nnope." Harry grinned evilly as he ran down the stairs and out the door. He ran following the dragons in the sky.

"Big Mac!" He heard Appleblooms voice.

"The window." Harry said in shock.

"Harry's said he's goin on the Dragon Migration! Stop him!"

"Oh crap." Harry said as his uncle looked from Applebloom to Harry who was at the gates of Sweet Apple Acres. Big Macintosh stopped his plowing and released the plow from his neck. "Leave me alone." Harry said as he backed away as the red stallion narrowed his eyes grumpily.

"Nnope." Big Macintosh said before breaking into a gallop after the Prince who started running.

"Damn damn damn!" Harry said as his uncle was catching up to him. "Oh wait! I can fly!" He spread his wings and leaped into the air.

Big Macintosh somersaulted forward failing to tackle and catch his favorite nephew (albeit his only nephew.) He landed against a tree which dropped its leaves as he dizzily sat there.

"Bye Uncle Macintosh! I'll be home soon!"

When Mac regained his balance he shook his head and snorted. "That little sneak." He snorted angrily. "Ah gotta find AJ."

Harry saw his uncle gallop toward town. Now where's uncle macintosh going? He asked himself. "Oh double crap." Harry said in panic. Speeding toward the migration as fast as his wings could flap. He was so grounded.

At Twilights, they where getting ready to follow Spike. Applejack was helping Rarity put the finishing touches on the dragon costume.

"What's wrong big brother?" Applejack asked as he gasped for breath.

"Harry" gasp "run off." Gasp

"Harry's run away? Where?" Applejack demanded.

-"Great..." Gasp "Dragon..." Gasp "Migration..." He collapsed. gasping to catch his breath.

Applejack narrowed her eyes. " Rope." She said. She was hoofed her rope by Twilight. "Hat." Rarity gave her her hat. "Apple Fritter." Rainbow Dash shoved a fritter in her mouth which she chewed and swallowed. "Let's go." She ordered and the 4 ponies left the library with the dragon costume in hoof. After making sure Big Macintosh was okay of course

Harry soared over a meadow leading to a forest. He had a theory where the dragons where going. there was a volcanic mountain range a few days travel away.

"Is that?" Harry asked himself narrowing his eyes down to the ground. "Spike?" He flew down "Hey Spike!"

"Hey Spike!" Spike looked up and saw, Harry!

"What are you doing here?" They both asked at the same time.

"Going on a journey of self discovery." Spike said confidently.

"Really? So am I!" Harry said eagerly. "Wanna travel together?"

"Sure. Tea break? Spike asked bringing out a teapot.

"I'll go fill it up at the stream." Harry took the pot and flew off as Spike gathered firewood and started a fire.

"My faithful student, do tell Applejack not to worry. I have sent word to the Elder dragons to be on the lookout for an alicorn foal. They will make sure no harm come to our little Prince."

"Your teacher, Princess Celestia." Twight finished the reply of Celestia in response to Twilight's hastily written panic note.

"That's nice and all, but how does that get that sneaky little son of mine back in one piece?!" Applejack demanded as they followed Harry and Spike's trails a day behind.

"We just have to trust the Elder Dragons." Twilight said to the orange mare. "They respect Celestia too much to let any of her family come to harm."

Applejack sighed as they continued on their journey. "Sugarcube, please be safe."

And so Harry and Spike took off on their noble quest of self discovery. Through blustering winds, Spooky forests, guided through a river by a mule guide on a raft. They reached a snow capped mountain with ewes yraveling upwards. Harry cast a warming charm on themselves so they wouldnt freeze and a shield bubble around them both with Harry's horn glowing black and crimson aura. Finally their goal was insight! Hundreds of dragons circling the volcanic mountains.

"Wow." Harry said in awe. "I've never seen so many dragons!"

"Come on!" Spike said eagerly. "Race ya to the top!"

The foal and baby dragon laughed as they ran up the mountainside. Spike tripped and tumbled down until Harry caught him in a black/crimson bubble and they continued upwards. When they got to the top a dragon greeted them with a blast of fire.

Why doesn't this area feel hot to me? Harry asked himself. I should be boiling at least.

"Cool teenage dragons!" Spike said eagerly pointing down to a group of younger dragons. "That oughta be more our speed huh?" He asked his alicorn friend.

"And size." Harry noted. Other dragons where huge!

"Come on!" Spike said, sliding down with the mouth of the volcano.
