Author's Note: This is a non-profit fanfiction made for the sole purpose of doing something fun about one of my favorite characters in the Mass Effect series. Harbinger and Shepard belong to BioWare and My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro. Enjoy.

Chapter 6: Diamonds are a Reaper's Best Enemy Part 2

Location: Equestria, Ponyville Gem Fields, Underground

Time: Moments after Harbinger's Abduction

The scene shows a badly lit cavernous tunnel. The sounds of digging echo across the walls. The roof of the tunnel slightly breaks and Harbinger falls down. The Diamond Dog that abducted him falls behind him seconds later, screaming and blowing air at his burning hands. Not a wise decision to grab a burning object. Harbinger stood up and looked around, noticing the whimpering Dog, that was nursing his singed hands.

Harbinger: Canis Lupus, yet larger than most individuals of this species.

The Reaper walked up to the dog, a small yellow orb – a combat drone materialized above Harbinger, taking aim at the Diamond Dog.

Harbinger: Tell me one reason for which I should not terminate you right now. Why did you bring me here?

Diamond Dog: You just like white unicorn, you find gems. We want gems, you find us gems.

Harbinger: *turns towards the camera* Doggish vorcha, *chuckles* amusing. *turns back to dog* And what if I refuse?

Diamond Dog: *growls* We no ask! You stuck here with us.

More growls are heard from behind Harbinger, he looks around seeing several Diamond Dogs approaching from behind. Each of them have various weapons, different sticks to be exact and light armoring. Harbinger's expression darkens, five more drones materialize and start orbiting around the Reaper.

Harbinger: *menacing tone* You are mistaken, *drones start priming* it is not I who is stuck here with you, it is you who are stuck here with me.

The drones fire, the scene fades to black as bloodcurdling screams of the Diamond Dogs are heard.

Location: Equestria, Ponyville, Streets near Carousel Boutique

Time: Twenty minutes after Harbinger's 'abduction'

Twilight with Spike on her back, was trotting along the streets heading towards Carousel Boutique. She was a little worried that leaving the Reaper alone with Rarity wasn't a very good idea. Her worries escalated to terror when she saw a group of ponies in front of the boutique's door, she galloped ahead. Inside the shop she found her friends talking with Rarity, the five Elements turned to Twilight with worried expressions.

Twilight: What happened here? Why are the so many ponies near the shop? *looks around* And, where's Harbinger?

Applejack: That there's the problem Twi, looks like ol' Ha'binger's ran off somewhere. Rarity here says she didn't see 'im go.

Twilight: What exactly happened?

Rarity: I don't know Twilight. Last I remember, Harbinger was telling me to allow him to help and also to go get some rest. *pause for air* I told him it was not necessary, but he could assist me in obtaining some gems.

Spike: *shocked* How come you didn't call me to help?

The white unicorn looks apologetically at Spike.

Rarity: *pets Spike on the head* I would have called you Spikey-Wikey, but Twilight said you weren't felling well.

Spike despite being pleased from the touch, glared at Twilight. The unicorn looked away making an innocent face, complete with angel wings and a halo.

Rainbow Dash: So what did he do after that?

Rarity: He asked me where to obtain the gems, I told him. When I wanted to question him about why did he ask, I felt a hit at the back of the head, then it was all black and, and… oh no, Twilight, he went to the gem fields!

Everypony gasped knowing what exactly lurks in the gem fields. Some were hoping he was alright, others were hoping he might have been attacked and killed there. Their questions were answered when three fillies came in gasping and panting. They tried to speak at the same time, but all that came out was loud gibberish. Fluttershy came up to them trying to make them relax.

Fluttershy: Girls relax, everything is ok, um, you might want to speak one at a time, if you don't mind that is.

The three girls stopped and took a few breaths.

Applebloom: It's that firebug pony, he got caught by Diamon' Dogs.

Twilight: How did he know how to get there?

Scootaloo: He asked us if we could take him to the Gem Fields, we said we could.

Sweetie Bell: We took him there, he started finding gems, which was pretty cool. Then, we asked him about his Cutie Mark, he didn't have one. He said that Cutie Marks are your-elephant or something. What does that even mean?

Twilight: I think he might have said irrelevant, it means insignificant.

There were a couple of "ohh's" among the ponies who didn't know the meaning of the word.

Applebloom: We started arguin' about it, then the Diamon' Dogs sudd'nly came out and took him underground. The dogs tried tah get us too, but we ran away as fast as we could.

Scootaloo: He's in trouble. Even if he's a jerk , we have to save him.

Rainbow Dash placed a comforting hoof on Scootaloo's shoulder. Applebloom and Sweetie Bell went and hugged their respective sisters. This eased the stress, especially for Scootaloo who was giddy at the attention of the rainbow mare.

Twilight: It's ok girls, thank you. *turns to Spike* Spike, write a letter to the Princess, we have to let her know that our guest is in trouble.

Spike: Twilight, buggy looks like someone who could handle himself in his situation. Do we really need to write a letter?

Twilight: We don't have time to argue about this, just write.

Spike took out a quill and a scroll and started writing.

Dear Princess Celestia,

I have been informed that our otherworldly guest, Harbinger, has been abducted by Diamond Dogs at the Ponyville Gem Fields. My friends and I are going to the fields to save him. Also, inform the human, Shepard that his subordinate is in trouble. You need not worry Princess we will be able to handle ourselves since some of us have experience with Diamond Dogs. We will inform you of the outcome soon.

Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.

After checking for any mistakes, Spike wrapped the scroll and blew a green flame at it causing the scroll to fly away to the Princess. Everyone was ready to leave for the fields when an unexpected response came from the Princess.

Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student,

I am glad you and your friends are going to save our new guest. It goes to show that no matter what race, appearance or character, a friend is always a friend. I also informed Shepard, his response was "They better get there fast before we have some Dog Meat for lunch". From what I can tell this situation is far more worse for the Diamond Dogs, please proceed with haste, as to avoid unnecessary casualties.

Your mentor, Princess Celestia.

Everypony gulped at the implication, so they ran to the fields. The Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike tagging along despite the older mare's protests.

Location: Equestria, Ponyville Gem Fields

Time: FiftyMinutes after Harbinger's 'abduction'

The Elements of Harmony, the CMC… and Spike arrived at the gem fields. They found Harbinger's satchels full of gems on the ground next to a hole that was most likely the one Harbinger went through. Everyone gulped.

Twilight: Alright, we have to go down there. Spike you and the Cutie Mark Crusaders remain here at the surface. We six are going down the to save, whoever is in trouble.

Spike: Aw, come on Twilight, I want to go down there. What if somepony attacks Rar- I mean we have to save Buggy.

Twilight:*rolls eyes and smirks* Wouldn't it be nice of you to stay here and protect Sweetie Bell and the other girls from any evil and bad Diamond Dogs that might come to attack. *whispers* I bet Rarity would appreciate, you, protecting her little sister.

At the mention of the marshmallow mare's name, Spike puffed his chest and saluted.

Spike: You can count on me.

Everyone just chuckled at the dragon's antics. The Elements jumped down the hole, Pinkie Pie actually went head down. The CMC and Spike were left above ground.

Scootaloo: So what do we do?

Applebloom: I have playing cards.

Everypony: ALRIGHT!

[Down in the Cavern]

Eyerypony landed on their legs except Pinkie, who ungracefully landed on her face. She jumped up smilling.

Pinkie: DO THAT AGAIN!

Everyone shushed her.

Twilight: *whispering* Pinkie, a little quiet please. What if they hear us?

Pinkie looked sheepish and made a zipping motion, that actually included a zipper, on her mouth. The six mares started walking through the badly lit caverns. Rarity used the gem tracking spell, to find the highest conglomeration of gems which was most likely where they took Harbinger. They were moving at a steady pace until, they started hearing girlish screams of terror. All ponies were scared and somewhat amused, except Pinkie who was bouncing cluelessly around. As they approached the source of the screams, they stopped in their tracks with various expressions of shock (not terrified shock, but more like WTF shock) on their faces. Harbinger was lounging on a pile of gems, in the center of a large atrium in the cavern, while juggling some multicolored gems. Six yellow orbs were dancing around the Reaper. In one corner of the atrium, twenty or so Diamond Dogs were bunched up, trembling in fear. Pinkie was hypnotized by the pretty yellow orbs, she walked up to them and started swaying her head along with the drones.

Pinkie: Mphhh mph mphhhhhhhhh *realizes and unzips her mouth* What I wanted to say was, Ohhhh, wow preeeetyyy. What are those? Are they fairies? Maybe it's candy? What do they do?

Harbinger answered her questions by using one Drone to fire a red laser (The Reaper laser) at the wall near one of the Diamond Dogs.

Harbinger: If you wish for another demonstration, just ask.

Before Pinkie could ask…

Everyone: DON'T ASK!

Everyone screamed fearful for their own lives in the case of the Diamond Dogs and fearful for the lives of the Diamond Dogs in case of the ponies. Even if they didn't like Diamond Dogs, they couldn't just watch and let them suffer.

Harbinger: *cheerfully* Well then, it appears my cavalry has arrived. *to the ponies* It took you quite long enough. These gentlemen here and I, are coming to an agreement. *to the Diamond Dogs* So what do you say, we share this loot 50-50?

Diamond Dog: Maybe, we could share 40-60?

Six laser were shot barely missing the Diamond Dog.

Diamond Dog: Ok, ok 50-50 we agree to this, just leave, you scary.

Harbinger: I am glad we could come to an agreement.

The Reaper picked up half of the gems using his biotics. He motioned the mares, who were still too shocked to speak, to follow him. When the seven ponies left the room, all Diamond Dogs sighed in relief. One drone came back into the room, firing on final shot, that of course missed, yet still resulted in many shrieks of terror. The last thing they heard from the ponies, was Harbinger's hearty laughter echoing through the caves.

[Back Outside]

When the six ponies and Reaper, reached the surface, they were greeted by the sight of three fillies, one baby dragon and a large Diamond Dog… playing Poker. Spike and the Diamond Dog were the only ones left in the game.

Diamond Dog: *smirks* Little dragon, you lost, no better hand than this. Four of kind, Aces.

The fillies gasped, the dragon looked at the dog unfazed then grinned.

Spike: Royal Straight Flush, beat that.

Everyone's jaws hit the floor. Spike collected his catch.

Spike: If you want, we could have another round.

Diamond Dog: No more gems, don't want to play with dragon anymore, you cheat.

Spike: I'm just a good player, deal with it.

The Diamond Dog left grumbling, not even noticing the adults that were nearby. Spike was bathing in the jewels he just won. Harbinger looked towards the little fillies.

Twilight: Harbinger, I know you think Cutie Marks are a bad tradition, but it's part of our culture it's part of us, you can't blame us for thinking it's right. Most ponies still consider what you did five-thousand years ago an act of cold-blooded cruelty, even if you had ulterior motives that you considered good.

Harbinger: *sigh* I know.

With only those to words the Reaper left to talk to the fillies. The six mares watched him tell something inaudible to the little girls. The fillies answered back, the Reaper then said something again. The three fillies smiled brightly and came up and started hugging Harbinger, after a few uneasy moments the Reaper returned the hugs. The Elements aweeed'.

Rarity is unicorn pony born to the two unicorns, Magnum - her father and Pearl – her mother. She currently resides in Ponyville like the rest of her friends, and works as the owner of Carousel Boutique that makes the best dresses in Ponyville. Rarity is the current wielder of the Element of Generosity. She aims to become a well known dressmaker in all of Equestria. Of her more notable dresses, are the dresses worn by the Elements during the Grand Galloping Gala, several dresses for the famous fashion designer Hoity Toity and the dress for Princess Mi Amore Cadenza's Wedding. Rarity is a unicorn with a good sense of taking care of her image, and sometimes even the smallest traces of filth may cause her to become quite, insufferable…

Author's Note: Harbinger's becoming a softie eh, sorry 555814, but as I said before I won't include killing in this story. I'm keeping it in line with the MLP style, I hope you won't stop reading even after this. Ok so Spike did cheat, it was impossible for him to have a Royal Straight Flush, since the Diamond Dog had all the Aces.
