Alright Everyone we have gotten to the first of the date chapters. In honor of Halloween which I did not do anything for, I have decided to make the first date Gohan/Luna in case you missed that in the last chapter.

Chapter 12: Friendship, Romance, and Candy

Gohan awoke to the sound of birds chirping. Yawning loudly he pulled himself from his bed and made his way out of his room and downstairs to main hall.

He was pleased to find that all of his friends had gathered around and happily chatting about the events of the day.

"What's up everybody?" He cheerfully asked them.

They all turned to him with happy smiles as Applejack started to speak.

"Howdy there Gohan, we were starting to think you were never gonna wake up." She said causing Gohan to blush and rub the back of his head.

"Sorry were you all waiting on me for something?" Gohan asked.

Twilight grinned and answered " We were just wanting to see you before we all went back to Ponyville.".

Gohan was confused "You're all leaving?".

"Well it is Nightmare Night tonight, and Spike is probrably wondering why I haven't been back to the library in days." Twilight said wondering how the dragon was holding up back home.

"I've got to get the fillies back to Sweet Apple Acres to get their costumes on so granny can watch them." Applejack says patting Applebloom on the head.

"I also have to get back to my home to take of my animals." Fluttershy said giving Gohan a shy smile.

"Me and Pinkie also have to go get in on that candy!" Rainbow Dash announced as Pinkie Pie clapped her hands in agreement.

As they all said their goodbyes Gohan watched as his friends entered a carriage headed for ponyville.

As the carriage started to roll down the path Rarity stuck her head out of the side.

"Gohan, I left your costume in the dresser inside of your room!" She yelled out to him.

Gohan smiled and waved at her "Thank you Rarity, I promise I'll find a way to repay you!".

The Fashionista smirked as she yelled back "Just make sure you show Princess Luna a good time and then pay me back when it's our turn for a date!".

Finally the carriage was out of view and Gohan returned to his room to prepare for the night.

"Hmm I wonder what my costume looks like?" Gohan asked to himself as he passed through his doorway.

Walking over to his dresser her opened it slowly, his eyes widening in wonder.

"Now this is what I call a costume!" He exclaimed and quickly began to put on the work of art.

(In Luna's chambers)

"I am so nervous about my first date!" Luna yelled pacing around the room.

She knew that she should be resting for the big event that night but found that her mind was filling with mental images of how her romantic night would play out. Her sister tried to calm her down so they could talk before the date.

"Dear Sister you really must control yourself, I'm sure everything will go alright tonight." Celestia said wrapping her arms around her sister.

Luna sighed loudly and leaned her head against her sister's chest listening to her heartbeat "I'm sorry sister, it's just never in my life have I been asked out on a date.".

Celestia smiled warmly at her sister's antics. It reminded her of when she was a young filly and more interested in other colts than in ruling Equestria.

"You have nothing to worry about, I have the utmost confidence in Gohan's ability to make sure your special night is as perfect as possible." Princess Celestia finished and let go of her sister "Now do us both a favor and get some sleep! I'm sure Gohan doesn't want to feel the wrath of a cranky princess.".

Luna shot a playful glare at her sister as dropped herself down to rest on her bed "Thank you sister, I don't know what I would do if you weren't here for me.".

"That's what family is for young one, to help each other in their times of need." Celestia answered as she turned out the light "Sleep tight!".

"Don't let the bedbugs bite!" Luna completed the saying and closed her eyes.

The sun princess smiled as she remembered that they would say that to each other when they were young fillies.

As she walked down the corridor Celestia couldn't help but say with a grin"Looks like I don't have to protect you from the world anymore my sweet sister.".

Twilight Sparkle had been hard at work since returning from the castle. She had dusted and alphabetized all of the books, studied her scrolls for two hours, and put the finishing touches onto her costume. As she was putting on her outfit Spike came bouncing down the stairs.

"Say Twilight what do you think of my costume?" The young dragon asked her making a scary face.

Twilight laughed at the small dragons appearance "Really Spike? Out of any costume in the entire world that you could have chosen, you decided to dress up as a dragon?".

Spike frowned and shot her a evil look "Okay Miss Perfect if you're so smart then why did you dress up as a grandpa!?".

"I am not a grandpa Spike! I'll have you know that Star Swirl the Bearded is only the most important conjurer of the pre-classical era." Twilight spoke posing in her mystical costume.

Their conversation was interuppted as a knock was heard at the door.

As she opened the door she was met by the face of three very enthusiastic fillies "Nightmare Night! What a fright! Give us something sweet to bite!".

Twilight smiled and put candy in each of their bags "Hi everypony, great costumes! Happy Nightmare Night, Granny Smith.".

"I was supposed to be in bed 5 hours ago" The frail old pony moaned.

From the back of the line another filly hopped to the front in a pirate outfit.

"Pipsqueak the pirate, at your service. It's my very first Nightmare Night!" He said as he held out his bag.

Twilight was confused and asked "Since you moved from Trottingham?".

Pip smiled and shook his head "Nope it's my very first Nightmare Night ever!".

Suddenly a ball of pink lighting zipped right in front him "Enough chitchat time is candy!".

Twilight recognized the voice as Pinkie Pie "Pinkie Pie aren't you a little too old for candy?".

This year Pinkie Pie had decided to go as a giant chicken and was currently aiding Granny Smith in escorting the fillies.

"Too old for free candy? Never in a million years!" Pinkie gasped scratching the ground like a chicken.

Twilight sighed and then started to show off her costume to her friend "So what do you think Pinkie?".

The pink pony observed her for a few minutes trying to figure out what she was dressed as. Finally she gave her best guess.

"Wow Twilight you make a great grandpa!" She yelled and quickly ate the rest of Twilight's candy.

As she and the others ran off Twilight shook her fist at the pink pony "I'm Star swirl the Bearded, not a grandpa! He has his own shelf at the Canterlot library of magic for pony sake!".

Spike laughed at his best friend "Give it up twilight no one loves books more than you." he said and tossed a handful of candy into his mouth.

Twilight gave another sigh and proceeded to walk with spike into town square.

They spent the next thirty minutes socializing with the other residents of Ponyville and enjoying the events of Nightmare Night.

Before long they were once again met by Pinkie Pie and Pipsqueak.

"Hey again Pinkie! Did you get enough candy?" Twilight asked them seeing their bursting bags.

Pinkie pumped a fist into the air and laughed "We sure did Twilight! We bagged as much as we possibly could and then went to Cheerilee's and bagged even mo...AHHH!" she screamed as a lighting bolt flashed from above her.

Looking up Twilight could see the familiar Rainbow colored mane and instantly knew who it was.

"That was a mean trick Rainbow Dash!" she said and frowned at the now laughing pony.

"Ha Ha Ha lighten up Twilight after all what good would Nightmare Night be without the occasional trick?" Rainbow Dash said as she peeked out from behind a thundercloud.

Twilight sighed and straightened her hat "Well now that you're here we can wait for Princess Luna and Gohan to get here.".

"I can't wait to see what Gohan thinks of his costume." Rarity said coming around the corner with both Applejack and Fluttershy.

The Fashionista was dressed as vampire princess and had her hair made into a carefully designed bun. Applejack was dressed as a scarecrow and had straw sticking out of her mane.

"Weren't they suppose to be here by now Twi?" asked Applejack.

Twilight looked at the clock in the middle of the town "Maybe they are waiting to make an entrance.".

Glancing at the clock again she hoped that she was right.

(Back at the Castle)

"Wow this thing is really tight!" Gohan said to himself while trying to finish putting on his costume.

For the last several hours he spent his time in the castle library reading up on Equestria's history and holiday's.

He wanted to make sure that he knew about Nightmare Night and how special it would be for Luna so he could make both his and her night as special as he could.

He found that his world's holiday's were almost mirror images of this world's holiday's with Nightmare Night being similar to Halloween. But while he was reading he started to think about his friends and their feelings.

Seeing as not a single pony objected to Princess Celestia's decree that he take each of them out on a date made him question if things could work out between them all. He laughed at the fact that a month ago he had been all alone with no friends or family to care for him and now he had eight female anthropomorphic ponies wanting him to win their hearts.

In a way it made him happy but worried at the same time. What if he couldn't make each of them happy, would they be angry and abandon him? He should his head free of those thoughts and snapped on the final piece of his costume.

He looked at the clock on the wall and could see it was almost time to arrive in Ponyville.

Grabbing the accessory that Rarity had made for him he walked through the hallways up to Luna's chamber.

(With Luna)

Luna had also spent the last couple of hours making sure she was presentable.

"My dear you are spending way too much time trying to impress him." Nightmare Moon spoke from within her.

Luna sighed as she plopped herself down onto her bed "We are just worried that is all. This is the very first date I have ever had and I want it to be perfect.".

"Well we are glad you are so excited but what good will it do us, if you kill him with ten layers of perfume." Nightmare laughed as Luna grabbed her mane and inhaled.

"Did we add way too much?" she asked hoping she didn't completely overdue it.

Suddenly a knock came from her door.

"Who is it!?" Luna asked without skipping a beat.

"It's me Gohan!" The half-saiyan called up from behind the door.

The Princess jumped off her bed and tried to adjust herself in the mirror "Just a minute please!".

"We are sure we look fine dear just hurry up and go to him sometime before the over" Nightmare laughed receiving a small nod from her other self.

Moving slowly she unlocked her door and opened it only to meet her crush standing in a magnificent costume.

Gohan was dressed as what she could only guess was a dark knight outfit. It was made with blood red rubies placed in just the right places. Small black wings were placed on both the should pauldrons and on his gauntlets. His helmet was designed to look like a dragon with glowing yellow eyes. In his left hand he gripped a very realistic look spear that had a very long jagged blade at the bottom and two forked blades around the head.

Luna could only stare in wonder at her very handsome date.

"Well Gohan it seems that no matter what the occasion you are always destined to be my knight in shining armor." Luna said with a blush appearing clearly on her face.

Gohan chuckled and removed his helmet showing that he too was sporting a blush.

"Well I am happy that you are able to share your special night with me Luna." He said and softly kissed her hand.

Luna softly gasped and tried to hide her ever reddening face with her hands "My, my, my you are quite the romantic tonight Gohan.".

They both shared a laugh as the made their way down to the castle entrance.

"So princess are we taking one of your sister's chariot's to Ponyville?" Gohan asked grasping her hand in a soft yet strong grip.

Princess Luna smiled and tightened her fingers around his "No Gohan I have my own transport waiting for us.".

As they arrived at the gates two of Luna's guards pulled a midnight colored chariot into view.

"We are ready to proceed as planned Princess." The first guard spoke, bowing before her.

"Proceed as planned?" Gohan asked confused about what he meant.

Luna squeezed his hand an gave him a smile "Well Gohan I kind of had an idea to make a grand entrance into Ponyville, after all it has been one thousand years since I have been to a social event.".

Gohan assisted her climb into the chariot and pulled himself up to the seat beside her.

Soon the chariot took off with great speed across the sky straight to Ponyville. As they disappeared from view Princess Celestia closed the window to her chambers.

"Have a good night sister." She smiled softly laid down onto her bed. As she closed her eyes she couldn't help but think of how her day with the boy-wonder would be.

(Back in Ponyville)

Everypony was still going strong in town. Games were still being played and candy still being given.

Twilight and her friends had gathered at Sugarcube corner to grab some quick sweets, not wanting to be mowed down by Pinkie Pie and her candy squad.

"So Twilight are you sure that this Gohan guy and Princess Luna were supposed to be here?" Spike asked as he chowed down on some emeralds he brought.

Twilight rolled a apple around in her hands as she stared at the sky "Well I thought that they would but maybe Princess Luna just isn't ready for large scale interactions like these.".

Rarity seemed to have a look of despair on her face as she dramatically threw her hand over her face "But if they do not make an appearance how will I ever know if Gohan adores the costume I slaved over for him!".

Applejack laughed as she watch her friend go into her drama queen mode "Jeez Rarity you have it bad don't cha?".

"I beg your pardon!?" The Fashionista gritted out throwing a glare at Applejack.

"Well Rarity all I'm sayin is that you really just want to see Gohan so soon cause your jealous that Luna has first dibs on him." Applejack said giving Rarity a challenging look.

Rarity's glare soon turned evil as she felt her friend trying to get under her skin "Well what about you, I could see you undressing him with your eyes this morning!?".

Twilight, and Rainbow Dash both sighed as the the once again locked horns about who was right or wrong.

A noise coming from outside of the bakery caused everyone to stop in surprise.

"Come on everypony something big is happening outside!" Spoke Twilight eager to see what the commotion was.

After the last pony ran through the door the source of the excitement was visible in the night sky. It was a dark chariot being pulled by two equally dark ponies in armor.

The chariot landed right in the middle of town square as all the ponies couldn't help but wonder who would be making such a grand entrance.

Suddenly two figures stepped out of the chariot. One was covered in a hood and the other looked as if he was a knight.

"Well it looks like they made it after all." Twilight Sparkle said instantly recognizing the princesses chariot.

Rarity smiled as she gazed upon Gohan "Yes and it seems like Gohan just loves his dragon knight costume.

Spike couldn't believe his eyes "You mean that's Gohan!? Aww he has a better dragon costume than I do.".

They all laughed as they move through the cloud of ponies gathered around them. As the finally arrived in front of the chariot Twilight Sparkle addressed both of her friends.

"We were just about to think that you two were never going to show up." Twilight chuckled as Princess Luna removed her hood.

Everypony in the vicinity gasped loudly and bowed to the guest of honor.

Luna looked around with an uncomfortable look upon her face "Please everypony we do not wish for you to bow to us! We are just here to enjoy the festivities."

Her request was met with uncertain faces as they remembered the events of the Summer Sun Celebration and how Nightmare Moon almost took over.

Feeling embarrassed she looked to Gohan for Support. Taking off his helmet he smiled warmly at her letting her know that he was here for her. As he grasped her hand a scream was heard from the back of the ponies.

"AAAAHHHH everypony run! Nightmare Moon has possessed Gohan and is making him her love slave!" A familiar voice he identified as Pinkie Pie could be hear as the ponies started to scream and cower in fear.

Luna looked down at the ground sadly as her attempts to disarm the bad feelings between her and the townsfolk.

She gasped as she felt something strong wrap around her. Turning her head she saw that Gohan was hugging her tightly.

"Don't worry Luna I'll make sure you have a wonderful night no matter what it takes." He said as he felt her lean into his embrace.

"Don't worry Gohan we'll get every back out onto the street!" Twilight said as the others nodded in agreement.

"Thanks everyone I'm gonna stay here with Luna while you get everyone back." Gohan said as the others ran off to complete their mission.

They both stood in silence for the next couple of minutes before Luna finally decided to speak "Do you think everyone will warm up to me soon Gohan?".

"I'm sure they will Luna sometimes it just takes a little convincing to show people how good you really are." Gohan said as he spun Luna around to look her in the eyes.

As she gazed into the half-saiyan's eyes she could feel a loving warmth radiate from them.

"Well my dear it seems that you have a keeper there." Nightmare Moon spoke with a grin.

Luna gave a small chuckle as she hugged Gohan again.

(10 minutes later)

After some much needed convincing Twilight and the others had finally persuaded the residents of ponyville to come back outside.

Their eyes were still locked on Luna as if they were expecting her to transform into Nightmare Moon at any time.

"My word this is ridiculous! The first time I make an appearance it seemed as if everyone was ready to defy us, but now it's like they were expecting us to blow up the sun." Nightmare Moon groaned as Luna and Gohan strolled through the streets.

A small gurgling noise caused them to stop in place.

"Was that your stomach princess?" Asked Gohan with a grin.

Luna face turned red "We apologize, it has been a day since we last ate.".

Gohan looked around quickly and spotted a restaurant with a few empty tables.

"How about we stop and grab a bite to eat ?" He asked her and pointed to where the tables were.

She nodded quickly hoping that her stomach didn't ruin the mood for them.

As they both sat down a waiter dressed as a bunch of grapes came to take their orders.

"Shall I take your orders Princess Luna, and your um...date." He asked with a nervous face hoping that he hadn't offended them.

Luna gave a small nod and started to make her order "I believe a simple dandelion sandwich would be enough to satisfy my hunger.".

He quickly jotted down her order and then turned to Gohan "What would you desire sir?".

Gohan thought about it briefly not wanting to order something with plants in it "Would it be okay to request a couple dozen banana-nut muffins?".

The waiter looked at him strangely but decided not to ask in fear of upsetting the Princess "Very good then we will have your orders to you in just a few brief moments.".

As the waiter disappeared Luna grinned at Gohan "It seems like I'm not the only one who has not eaten today.".

Rubbing the back of his head Gohan shyly replied "Well I have been know to eat a lot so I didn't want to empty out the castle's supply of food.".

Princess Luna smiled softly and placed her hand on top of his "Gohan you must not worry about small things like that. As long as you are in Equestria the castle will always be your home. Besides I seriously doubt that even with your large appetite that you could even scratch the castle's vast supply of food.".

Looking into each others eyes, the both started blushing. A strange sensation came over both of them that they couldn't explain. It felt as if something was attracting them closer to each other. Closing their eyes they allowed themselves to get closer and closer until their faces were mere inches away from each other. Suddenly a noise caused them to break away from each other quickly.

Looking up they noticed that the waiter and returned with their food.

"One dandelion sandwich for the fair Princess Luna, and two trays of muffins for the sir." The waiter said before bowing and walking away.

Luna looked down at her food quickly saying "Um..lets dig in!" before taking a large bite of her sandwich.

Gohan nodded in agreement before picking up a muffin and quickly consuming it and picking up another.

A few minutes passed by in complete silence as the two chowed down. Luna wondered if Gohan would say something soon to break the tension.

Luckily before any words could be said a startled gasp erupted from Gohan as another mare had knocked into the side of the table and was staring intently at the two trays of muffins.

"Derpy Hooves!?" Princess Luna asked shocked to see her.

The mail-pony broke her stare from the muffins to happily hug the friend she had made during the crisis "Princess I'm so glad to see you again!".

"I also am glad to see you as well. I was so worried that something happened to you after we separated." Luna said returning the hug.

"Well after everypony left I decided to just wait in my house until the whole thing blew over." Derpy said returning her gaze to the muffins.

Gohan noticed her stare and held out two muffins to her "Would you like some Derpy?".

Her eyes widened as the words came from his mouth.

"Did I say something wrong?" Gohan asked hoping that he didn't say something wrong.

Derpy laughed as she took the muffins from his hand "It's just that no one has ever offered me my favorite thing in the whole wide world before!".

Both Luna and Gohan looked in amazement as Derpy devoured the muffins with an almost super "pony" speed.

After they were finished the small mare burped softly and smiled "That was great I really needed that, thanks!".

Gohan chuckled and gave her a thumb up "Don't mention it.".

Luna smiled as her two friends were getting along well. She had been worried since they had gotten separated that something might of happened to her.

"So Luna are you two out on a date?" Derpy asked out loud causing everypony around them to twist their head towards them.

Luna blushed a deep crimson as she felt all the gazes suddenly trained on her "Um..Yes Derpy. Gohan and I are on a special date tonight.".

"That is so wonderful! Let me get out of your mane so you can enjoy your cute date." Derpy said and trotted off happily.

After a few moments of silence Gohan spoke "Well that was interesting.".

"Yes I do believe it was. Derpy means well, but she has her own way showing it.". Luna said pressing her hands together.

"Well seeing as we are done eating would you like to go play some of the games?" Gohan asked hoping that Luna wasn't too embarrassed to continue the night.

Luna gave him a puzzling look "Games? It's been so long since me or my sister have had time to play games since we became princesses.".

"Well then that's exactly what we need to do! All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy after all." Gohan said with a grin.

The princess looked confused "Who is this Jack person, is he a friend of yours?".

Gohan face palmed and held back his laughter "No princess it's just an expression.".

"Oh." Luna said feeling embarrassed.

As they walked off towards the games Gohan felt as if something was following them from the sky.

Looking up he noticed a strangely shaped thundercloud slowly moving behind them. Shaking his head he dismissed this as nothing as Applejack ran up to them.

"I reckon you and the princess would like to play some of the games huh Gohan?" She asked and tossed a small red ball up and down.

"Yep do you have anything in mind for us?" Gohan asked with his arm around Luna.

The earth pony flashed them both a toothy grin as she motioned for them to follow her "I believe I have just the perfect game for you both.".

Applejack led them to a large tank filled with water with a curtain over it.

Luna was intrigued as she look at the strange tank "Lady Applejack if I may ask, what kind of game is this?".

"I'm so glad you asked princess! But before I get to explaining I'd like for you to meet our very special assistant." Applejack beamed before pulling on a large rope right next to the tank.

The curtain slowly raised revealing a bound and gagged Rarity sitting on a plank.

"This is a good a good old fashioned dunking booth princess. You throw this ball at that target on the wall to make little old Rarity go for a swim." Applejack explained passing the ball to Luna.

Gohan looked up at Rarity to see the fear come to her eyes. He knew that he would have to do something special on their date to make up for what was about happen.

"Um..Applejack are you sure that Rarity is fine with being the person being dunked?" He asked the now smirking mare.

"Don't worry about it, I'm sure Rarity will survive a little bit of water." Applejack laughed as she moved out of the way of the target.

Luna rolled the ball around her palm for a few moments trying to aim herself up with the target. Taking a deep breath she gave the ball a small toss and watched as it hit the wall right under the target.

Luna scowled lightly as Applejack tossed the ball back to her "Not bad for a first throw princess you have two more shots to make our beautiful miss Rarity wet.". (Geez sound dirty much )

Concentrating harder she put more power into the throw. This time the ball sailed right over the target over the wall to the other side.

Applejack ran to get the ball as Rarity gave a big sigh of relief. Maybe she would be safe and Luna would just miss again.

She smiled behind the tape that covered her mouth as she waited for the princess to miss again.

As Luna once again held the ball once again she felt something wrapped her from behind. Turning her head she realized that Gohan was holding her and moving her arms into position.

"You need to keep your arms firm when you throw so the ball will move where you want it to." Gohan said as softly moved her into position.

Luna could feel the warmth coming from his body and allowed him to move her the way he wanted.

After Gohan had finished fixing her stance Luna did as she was told and kept her arm tight as she once again prepared to throw.

As the ball left her hand Luna closed her eyes and held her breath.

A satisfying ting and a loud splash filled the air as she quickly opened her eyes in surprise. Inside the tank she could see a very angry Rarity splashing around trying to pull herself out from the water.

"We did it Gohan, we did it!" Luna happily yelled out as she turned to hug Gohan.

The half-saiyan accepted the hug, happy to know that his date was enjoying her success. They held their embrace for a few second before Luna leaned her head to look him in the eyes.

"Um... Is there something on my face?" He asked staring back into her shimmering eyes.

Luna did not reply but only started to lean her face closer and closer to his. Gohan too started to lean closer to her like her was in some kind of trance.

The space between them shortened as they closed their eyes. They could feel each others breath on the others lips and were just about to kiss but were interuppted by the sound of a crowd of awes.

Snapping out of the trance, they both looked silently at all of the staring ponies. It was almost a sweet moment for the two of them before the familiar voice of Pinkie Pie rang out.

"AAAAHHHH Nightmare Moon is trying to suck out Gohan's Soul, everybody run!" She screamed as the crowd all ran for cover.

"No wait please!" Luna screamed as the crowd ran to get as far away as they could.

Seeing all of the subjects she was trying to win over run from her in fear made Luna both sad and angry at the same time.

She had already declared her intention to enjoy the night dedicated to her, so why had they done such a good job of making a big festival if they were just going to treat the guest of honor as if she was going to bite their heads off?

She felt herself get angrier and angrier as she felt the urge to scream.

"That's it! If this is how we are going to be treated then I hereby ban Nightmare Night forever!" Luna yelled in her loudest Canterlot voice as she ran as far away from the now cowering ponies as fast as she could.

In her haste she did not notice Gohan calling out for her to come back.

"Luna please come back!" He yelled as Rarity and Applejack stood by his side.

"What are we gonna do now Gohan? If we don't fix things their won't be a festival to enjoy." Applejack said worriedly.

Gohan sighed as his thoughts went to his date "Alright get everyone to stop freaking out and find something to do about Pinkie Pie. No one will calm down if she runs by screaming that Luna is doing something evil. I'm gonna chase down Luna before she decides to leave Ponyville.".

They both nodded as Gohan raced off after the princess.

Rarity was still trying to dry her mane off as she looked to Applejack "Well we had better find Pinkie Pie before she causes anymore chaos.".

"Yeah maybe we can lure her out with some candy." Applejack agreed noticing Rarity shoot her a dirty look "What?".

"Applejack...You will rue the day you put me in that dunking booth!" The fashionista growled as she ran to find Pinkie Pie with a laughing Applejack following close behind.

(Meanwhile)

"Princess!" Gohan yelled running through Ponyville. He was surprised at how fast she could move. She had made one small turn and just like that she was gone.

After running around for a few minutes Gohan suddenly stopped at the sound of his name being called.

"Finally I found you!" Twilight Sparkle said clearly out of breath "What happened?".

Gohan ran his hand through his hair before speaking "Let's just say Pinkie Pie caused a crowd Panic, and now Luna has banned Nightmare Night.".

"Pinkie did what!?" Twilight groaned face-palming in frustration.

"Yeah and as if that wasn't bad enough she's disappeared and I have no idea where she went." Gohan said clearly worried about the situation.

Twilight thought about it for a minute before coming to a realization "Well if Princess Luna is upset that everyone is frightened by her then she would have no reason to stay in Ponyville. Therefore she must be heading back to the castle!".

"What!?" Gohan almost yelled "We have to find her fast!".

The two of them continued their search as a certain princess started arguing with herself.

(With Luna)

Luna was running as fast as she could to stop herself from crying. She had been running for so long she couldn't even recognize where she was anymore.

"Well that was a disappointing display." The bored voice of Nightmare Moon rang out from her mind.

"Just leave me alone Nightmare!" Luna choked out.

She really did not want to hear her other self at the moment. All she wanted was to find a nice quiet place where she could be all by herself.

"Now don't blame me for what happened, everything would have been fine if the pink one wouldn't have freaked out." Spoke Nightmare in an annoyed voice.

"Well if you were never created I would still be one of the normal ponies!" Luna said without even thinking.

She clasped a hoof over her mouth realizing her mistake.

"I'm just gonna pretend I didn't hear that last tidbit." Nightmare Moon slowly gritted out.

Luna sighed and stared at the ground "We...We apologize, the stress is just getting to us.".

Nightmare moon stayed quiet for a few moments and replied "Well my dear that is understandable. You really should have brought our little hero with you, after all he knows how to make you smile.".

The thought of being in Gohan's arms did make her smile. It was if she could reach a new level of happiness that she never thought she could reach. It was strange how someone who she only knew for a few shorts weeks could make her weak in the knees.

"See there we go there's that innocent, or shall we say not so innocent little smile." Nightmare chuckled as she could see Luna's thoughts.

Standing up, Luna looked around at her surroundings.

She seemed to have found herself in a nice quiet little forest area. It couldn't have been the Everfree forest because of the absence of magic. This was a perfectly natural forest.

Her thoughts were interuppted as the sound a bushes shaking caused her to jump.

"Who's there!" She demanded nervous about what could be hidden behind them.

The shaking got closer and closer until finally with a soft thud a small bunny jumped in front of her.

The princess let out a sigh of relief as she lowered her defenses "You silly little creature, you scared me half to deaf.".

The bunny twisted it's head to the side and wiggled it's nose before bouncing in front of her. It was as if it wanted her to follow it for some reason.

"Do we follow it or wait until someone finds us?" Luna asked her other half.

"Hmm I don't know, I've never heard of a guide rabbit. Still if we want to find our way out this may be our best bet." Nightmare answered just as amazed as Luna was.

The rabbit got tired of waiting and bounced off down the path, leaving Luna to chase after it.

After about 10 minutes of running the bunny had led her out of the forest and back close to Ponyville. The first thing she noticed was a small cottage with many animal pens.

"Who's home have you led me to my little woodland creature?" The Princess asked him as the little bunny knocked on the door.

The sound of something dropping could be heard as a high voice came from inside "Go away, there is no candy here on Nightmare Night!".

Princess Luna then knocked on the door again this time making her voice heard "Um..This little bunny led me to your home, could you please allow me to meet the owner of this little hero.".

The lock on the clicked as it opened.

"Princess Luna is that you?" Fluttershy asked as she stood in the doorway.

Luna let out a sigh of relief as she gazed upon the pink maned pony.

Picking up Fluttershy Luna proceeded to squeeze her tight "At last some-pony who I can speak with that does not fear me.".

Fluttershy returned the hug but quickly squeezed out "Um...Princess could you please let go? You are crushing me!".

Quickly releasing the now gasping pony Luna began to apologize "We are sorry dearest Fluttershy, it would appear we do not know our own strength.".

"It's fine princess, I'm okay." Fluttershy reassured her and invited her inside for some tea.

As they sat down at the table Fluttershy felt that she just had to ask "Princess, aren't you suppose to be out on your date with Gohan right now?".

Luna eyes darted around nervously as she thought about poor Gohan still running around looking for her.

"To be honest Fluttershy, I felt as if the residents of Ponyville didn't want me to be there so I ran off. Gohan is probrably so upset with me right now." Luna spoke and hung her head in shame.

Fluttershy took the time to observe the night princess as she remained silent. She remembered that when Luna was Nightmare Moon, she couldn't even move out of fear. Now all she wanted to do is make her feel better about herself.

Walking beside the sulking pony she wrapped her arms around her "There, there princess. I'm sure all Gohan is worried about right now is making sure you are safe.".

The sudden contact surprised Luna. The most easily startled pony in Ponyville was now hugging her tightly without fear.

"Thank you Fluttershy, I could see how you are easily Gohan's favorite pony." Luna said returning the hug.

Her comment caused Fluttershy's eyes to shoot open wide "I...I...I'm Gohan's what!?".

Luna giggled at the flustered look that now graced Fluttershy's face "Surely you must have noticed the sweet looks Gohan has been giving over the last couple of days?"

Fluttershy thought about it for awhile. She remembered that whenever she and Gohan were alone sometimes her would stare at her, as if contemplating something. At first she thought she just had something in her hair or teeth, but now hearing the Princess's comment she wondered if it could possibly be true.

Before she could even answer though a knock was heard at the door. She ran to answer the door and was met by the exhausted faces of Twilight, and Gohan.

"Fluttershy please tell me you know where Princess Luna is, we've looked everywhere." Gohan said while trying to catch his breath.

Fluttershy motioned for them to follow her into the house. Walking into the kitchen where Luna sat sipping her tea, Gohan all but tackled her in a hug.

"Please Luna don't ever scare me like that again!" Gohan softly said while burying his head into her shoulder.

Twilight also let out a sigh of relief glad that she didn't have to explain to Celestia why her sister went missing.

"I am glad to see you too Gohan, but aren't you upset at me for ruining the evening?" Luna asked surprised he wasn't angry at her.

Gohan lifted his hear up and placed his hands onto her hips making her blush "I could never be made at you Luna, and don't worry the evening isn't over yet.".

"But isn't everyone upset that I ruined Nightmare Night for everyone?" Luna asked confused on how they could still have a romantic evening.

Twilight then took the time to explain "Don't you worry about a thing princess. We spent a couple of minutes convincing people that it was an elaborate hoax and that everything is going on as planned.".

Gohan also chimed in "Yeah and we also have Applejack, and Rarity chasing down Pinkie Pie so she can't cause anymore of an uproar.".

Luna still looked apprehensive at this information "We do not know Gohan, what if everyone still fears us.".

Gohan smiled at that as he had already come up with a plan to make sure that things went just right.

As he explained his plan Zecora and a large amount of fillies and colts had gathered at the large statue of Nightmare Moon in the forest.

(With Zecora)

As all the fillies all stood with their bags of candy in front the scary looking statue Zecora began her speech.

"Follow me and very soon you'll hear the tale of Night Mare Moon. Listen close my little dears, and I'll tell you where you got your fears of Nightmare Night, so dark and scary. Of Night Mare Moon, who makes you wary. Every year, we put on a disguise, to save ourselves, from her searching eyes. But Night Mare Moon wants just one thing. To gobble up ponies in one quick swing. Hungrily, she soars the sky. If she sees no-pony, she passes by. So if she comes and all is clear, Equestria is safe another year!" The Zebra finished her tale as Pipsqueak ran up to her.

"Uh, Miss Zecora, if we wear costumes to hide from Night Mare Moon, so she won't gobble us up, how come we still need to give her some of our candy?" He asked while defensively holding his bag of candy.

Zecora laughed and patted his head "A perfect question, my little friend. For Night Mare Moon you must not offend. Fill up her belly with a treat or two, so she won't return to come eat you!".

She had to hold back a laugh as the color drained from Pipsqueak's face, and he quickly rush to put some of his candy around the statue.

Soon all of the other ponies were doing the same thing until a large pile soon stacked up.

"Did we do it Miss Zecora are we safe?" Pipsqueak asked looking from side to side.

As Zecora was about to answer lightning flashed across the sky. A large gust of wind caused all the candy to swirl into the sky and disappear inside of a cloud.

All of the young ponies cowered behind Zecora as the cloud soon transformed into a very gigantic Nightmare moon.

Her voice boom like thunder as she addressed them "Citizens of Ponyville! You were wise to bring these candies to me. I am pleased with your offering. So pleased that I may just eat it... instead of eating you!".

As she once again made lightning flash every single pony in the area turned tail and ran except for Zecora, and young Pipsqueak.

Seeing that her job was completed Nightmare Moon soon reverted back into Luna as she touched down on the ground with a large sack of candy thrown over her shoulder.

"Um..Twilight Sparkle I don't think this has had the intention that you wanted." Luna said feeling as if the only thing she managed to do was caused them to be even more afraid of her.

Twilight Sparkle, Gohan, and Fluttershy all came out from behind the statue.

"Don't worry Princess Luna, I have a feeling that everyone enjoyed your little show." Twilight said and pointed at the fillies and colts hiding in the bushes.

Luna was still unsure until young Pipsqueak came up and began to tug at her cloak "Princess even though there won't be anymore Nightmare Night, can you still come to scare me and my friends?".

Luna was surprised that they actually wanted to be scared. Maybe she had been wrong the whole time, maybe they didn't resent her after all.

"Do not worry young one, if you really desire to be scared then we will just have bring...NIGHTMARE NIGHT BACK!" Luna smiled as she boomed the last words in her Canterlot voice.

Pipsqueak smiled widely as he hugged her "You are my favorite princess ever! She said yes guys!".

The small ponies in the bushes all excitedly yelled out as they all ran back to Ponyville.

After they had all left Gohan hugged Luna from behind "I told you everything would work out in the end.".

Luna smiled but said nothing as she melted into his embrace. Turning to look into his eyes Luna and Gohan both stared into each other eyes as their lips drew closer to each other.

Once again just as they were about to touch the sound of yelling caused them to break away again.

"Get back here Pinkie!" Applejack yelled.

"Never! You will never get your hands on my candy!" Pinkie yelled before running straight into Luna and Gohan.

All three of them tumbled to the ground as Pinkie landed right on top of Luna. As she tried to get her head to stop spinning she suddenly realized who was beneath her.

"AHH Nightmare M..." She was cut off by Twilight grabbing hold of her tightly.

"Pinkie Pie you remember Princess Luna right?" Twilight asked her receiving a nod from the now sweating pony "Well if you remember her then why do you keep running screaming and running away? She's not going to hurt you".

Pinkie Pie then pried Twilight's hand away from her mouth "Well duh I'm not dumb! Sometimes it really fun to be scared." she finished and poke then end of Luna's nose.

"You mean that you do not resent me Pinkamena?" Luna asked feeling a sense of relief come over her.

Pinkie Pie cringed slightly hearing her full name but answered the question anyway "Why would I do a thing like that Princess? We saved Equestria from Discord together...also it's Pinkie.".

Luna smiled as Pinkie hugged her.

A loud crash of lightning from the sky caused Pinkie to drop to the ground in terror, as everyone else jumped in surprise.

Laughter could be heard from the rain cloud that Gohan swore was following them earlier. Floating up Gohan was surprised to see Rainbow Dash rolling around inside of it.

"I see your having fun Dashie." Gohan said with his arms folded across his chest.

"Ah Ha Ha I'm sorry everyone but it was just too perfect of an opportunity to pass up!" Rainbow said as she continued to roll around.

Twilight was about to yell something up at her but was interuppted by a larger lightning strike flashing above them.

Rainbow Dash flew out of her cloud and cowered behind Gohan trying to figure out where the lightning had come from.

Suddenly a larger cloud floated down to them and with a small pop came the grinning face of Derpy Hooves.

"Did I scare you Rainbow Dash?" She asked, amusement clearly on her face.

Rainbow Dash blushed as she popped out from behind Gohan "I wasn't scared...I just fell out of my cloud and hanged onto Gohan so I wouldn't fall!".

"But you have wings, you could have just flew to stop yourself from falling." Gohan said smirking.

Rainbow Dash huffed as the others started laughing before they all left to enjoy the rest of Nightmare Night.

(Hours later)

Gohan and the others spent the rest of the night enjoying the many exciting activities that the ponies set up.

Twilight had won the grand prize in the Nightmare Night trivia contest. Fluttershy had won four new fishes while playing ring toss. Pinkie Pie was challenging the hungriest ponies in town to a pie eating contest. Rarity was trying to win first place in a dress making contest. Applejack was making sure that everything was running smoothly. Rainbow Dash and Derpy were teaming up to play pranks on everyone, and Spike had fell asleep after eating half of his supply of candy.

Gohan and Luna however were preparing to make their return back to the castle. Luna had to return so she could relieve her sister of duty, and Gohan promised that he would stay up beside her for the rest of the night.

Before they could get into the carriage they were stopped by the mayor.

"Excuse me Princess but wouldn't you both like to stay for the awarding of best costume?" She asked them both with pleading eyes.

Luna though about it for a few moments before saying "I guess that there is not harm in it.".

As everypony in town gathered up the mayor prepared to give her speech.

"As you know everypony, every year we allow you all to vote for who you think has the best costume. We then award the title of king or queen of Nightmare Night." She finished as a pony ran up and handed her a envelope "The winner of this year's Nightmare Night is...Gohan!".

A spotlight was lit and placed on a very surprised looking Gohan. As he walked onto the stage the mare then presented him with a very large looking trophy.

"Well Gohan I think we would all like to know exactly where you got your costume." She said to him and passed him the microphone.

Gohan took it and with a grin he spoke "Well to be honest, every last bit of credit to making this costume goes to my friend Rarity.".

As all eyes started to fall on Rarity she felt herself become embarrassed at the amount of attention she was suddenly getting.

"Well I would like to stay longer to enjoy the festivities but me and Princess Luna really must be getting back to the castle." Gohan said as he gave the microphone back to the mayor.

The sound of applaud filled the air as Gohan and Luna climbed into their chariot.

"Well everypony let's give it up for this year's King of Nightmare Night, and our very own Princess Luna. We hope to see you both next year!". The mayor said as Gohan and Luna waved goodbye at them.

As their chariot ascended into the sky Fluttershy and Twilight grinned at each other.

"I think we can both agree that Luna had a nice night." Twilight said happily.

Fluttershy agreed but couldn't help but feel that same nagging feeling of jealousy. She hoped that it she could suppress it.

As they both returned to the festival a strange cloud pulled floated up and out of the town almost laughing as it left.

(Back at the castle)

Gohan and Luna arrived at the castle safe and sound. As they crossed through the castle entrance they were met by the pleased eyes of Celestia.

"Judging by the smiles that grace your faces, I can tell that you both had a perfect evening." She said with a knowing smile.

Luna hugged her sister tightly "Yes dearest sister, this has been the most wonderful night of my life! I'm so glad that Gohan was there to show me a wonderful time.".

Gohan blushed as he rubbed the back of his head "It was my pleasure princess, I can't wait to do it again.".

Luna's eyes sparkled as he spoke those words "You mean we will have another date soon?".

"Gohan looked confused "Of course Luna, I mean if that's okay with you?".

She didn't reply but only wrapped her arms around him and kissed him softly. Gohan was surprised but did not draw back, instead he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and soon was returning her feather soft kiss.

The stayed that way for a few minutes loosing awareness that they were kissing right in the middle of the main castle entrance for all to see.

It took Celestia clearing her throat for them to finally break apart as they were met with a slightly annoyed by playful looking Celestia "Well Gohan, if that's the prize for all the date's I certainly can't wait to see how ours will be." she finished with a wink.

Gohan blushed deeply as the Celestia walked up the stairs with a grin "Now don't you two suck each other faces off, you still have a duty to uphold.".

With that the elder sister retreated to her quarters leaving the two stunned in place.

"Is your sister always this forward with everyone?" Gohan asked embarrassed.

Luna sighed "Only if she knows it will make me embarassed. Well let's retire to my quarters, I would love it if you and I spent a little more time together.".

Gohan laughed "Only if your promise not to suck my face off.".

Luna returned his laugh "Oh I promise to leave your handsome face the way it is...I won't promise anything about your lips though.".

Gohan gulped loudly as the princess grabbed his hand and led him up to her room.

Luna smiled as she had finally found the one being in the world that made her happy. Still she had this weird feeling that something was watching them. It felt familiar but at the same time different. All she knew was that whatever it was, had better not try to ruin her happiness.

Sorry for this super long delay I had a nasty case of pneumonia so I've been sick for awhile. But everything is fine now so don't everyone worry. This has now become my longest chapter so I hope it makes up for the late posting. Like I said up top this chapter was in honor of Halloween my favorite holiday.
