(A/N: Well… I'm sure all of you are wondering, "Why in the world is this guy doing a MLP fanfic? He must be a brony." While I do find MLP: FiM an interesting show, an idea popped into my head. And you know me, once an idea comes; it has to be written down. It's different doing this but frankly, I don't care. Call me what you want, but I'm doing this for the readers and the fans so please enjoy the story!)

    Chapter 1: Siege of Canterlot

Almost three years ago, I was but merely a student of Princess Celestia, spending most of my time reading books about history and magic. At that time, I didn't really have any friends, other than my assistant Spike. But that soon changed one day when Princess Celestia told me that I would leave Canterlot and go to a place called Ponyville where I would meet new people and learn the lesson of friendship.

As was to be expected, I was not particularly excited about this mission, but it was insisted by her majesty herself. And now that I think about it, it was probably the best decision of my life. But at that time, a terrible event was about to take place. On the night when the stars aligned with the moon, a being known as Nightmare Moon escaped from her prison on the moon and came to Ponyville to bring eternal darkness to our land of Equestria.

It was then that Princess Celestia told me that in order to defeat her; the Elements of Harmony had to be found. It was then when I met my soon-to-be friends: Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack. When we finally found the Elements, we finally confronted Nightmare Moon and were able to defeat her. And then, in the process we freed Princess Luna, the Princess of the Moon, from her dark side that was Nightmare Moon. And as such, we saved Equestria and in the process I made new friends who stick by me thick and thin.

Of course, that wouldn't be our last major adventure. Months afterward, we found out that Discord, the ruler of chaos and previous ruler of Equestria, had broken out of his stone prison and once again we were called to stop him with the Elements of Harmony. But he, the deceitful one he was, stole them and hid them, turning it into a game for us, one with dire consequences if we lost.

It was not easy. With Discord's manipulation, our friendship was almost torn apart but with a little magic, we were able to overcome the challenges that Discord threw at us and were able to once again cast him back into his stone prison.

Two years have past since that time and once again we would be caught in another effort to help save the world from doom. But unlike Nightmare Moon and Discord, we were facing something completely new: total annihilation.

The peaceful town of Ponyville was preparing for a huge celebration today, as well as the cities and towns of Manehattan, Fillydelphia, Hoofington, Cloudsdale and even the capital city of Equestria, Canterlot. Today marked the anniversary of Celestia becoming ruler of Equestria, although the number was not mentioned due to most ponies not knowing the exact figure or that the number itself might make the princess sound… well, old.

Regardless, the preparations were being set up, and no pony was more excited than Twilight Sparkle. Celestia's dedicated and faithful student, Twilight was always honored to be in the Princess' presence and wanted to make sure every year was better than the rest. She was currently walking through Ponyville to check up on her friends and see how they were contributing for the special day while having her assistant Spike the dragon on her back.

"See Spike, isn't this exciting?" she asked her companion. "Princess Celestia has done so much for our land and every year we have to show her we are grateful and wish to return the favor."

Spike, however, was not feeling excited at all but instead tired due to being woken up early this morning. "That's great and all, but does it require having to get up so early?"

"Spike," Twilight said with a small glare. "It's not like you don't get enough sleep each morning as is, and I'm sure the Princess would not appreciate you sleeping all day during her special day."

"Whatever you say Twilight," Spike yawned and soon he was fast asleep again, snoring slightly. Twilight rolled her eyes and went to her first destination: Rarity's boutique.

Rarity was talented as a design artist, and a very good one at that. If anypony could make the right clothing for a special occasion, it was her. As she probably expected, Twilight heard the sound of a sewing machine being used inside and not wanting to startle her, Twilight knocked on Rarity's door.

The noise stopped and a voice cried out, "Just a minute!" Then the door opened and the unicorn peered outside. "Oh Twilight, it's you! Please, do come in." She was wearing her sewing glasses so it was obvious what she was doing.

"Oh, if you're busy Rarity I wouldn't want to bother you," Twilight replied kindly. She also noticed Spike was now awake and giving Rarity the same look he always gave her, since he had a crush on her.

"Not at all," Rarity said, waving her hoof slightly. "I was going to take a small break anyway. Please I insist."

Twilight and Spike came inside and were surprised to see how many dresses and suits were put on display. "Rarity…" she then said. "Did you make all these for today?"

"Indeed I did," Rarity said, smiling. "Five hundred need to be made and I've so far done… four hundred and twenty three. Oh and I know what you're thinking, no I did not spend all night making these. I was smart this time and took in requests earlier to prevent chaos from happening."

"Well they look great," Spike replied. "Wait… since when did you start making suits?"

Rarity giggled slightly. "Well normally the tailors in town take care of them but this year they were low on personnel and didn't have enough time to make them all so I was kind enough to do some of the work for them."

"Well I'm happy to hear that Rarity," Twilight said. "But anyway, I have to-"

"Oh wait!" Rarity interrupted. "I have to show you your dress Twilight before you go."

"My dress?" Twilight asked. She had not expected or even asked Rarity to make one.

Rarity then went back and pulled over a display that was Twilight's new dress. "Do you like it? It matches your color and personality perfectly."

"It's amazing Rarity," Twilight replied, giving her friend a hug. "I wouldn't have expected any less from you."

"Aw, thank you darling," Rarity replied, blushing slightly. "Since you're here, maybe you'll be able to take it back home with you."

"Oh," Twilight said, hesitating slightly. "Um… sorry Rarity, I'm actually doing some errands and checking up on everyone else."

"Oh that's fine then," Rarity said. "I can keep it for you until then but I would advise you to come back early to get it. This place is going to be a nuthouse by late morning."

Twilight laughed slightly. "Well, good luck with that and I promise I will, along with everyone else. Talk to you later Rarity."

Afterwards, she went to Sugarcube Corner, where she would find Pinkie Pie. Opening the door, the sudden sound of party blowers and balloons, dozens of them, flying out the door caught Twilight by surprise, even though by now that shouldn't have. Who else but Pinkie Pie?

"Hi there Twilight, hi Spike!" Pinkie Pie said in her usual joyful voice. "I hope you're ready to PA-AARTY like I am!"

"Oh you bet'cha Pinkie Pie," Twilight replied, giggling slightly. "I can see you're all hard at work."

"Yep!" Pinkie Pie said, nodding. "Mr. and Mrs. Cake and I are working hard at making cupcakes, regular cakes, and plenty of party balloons!"

"Oh um…" Twilight looked up and saw the balloons floating to the sky. "Sorry about that…"

"No problem!" Pinkie Pie replied, not even bothered. "I got hundreds of more where that came from and the Pegasi can catch them if they need to. But since you're here Twilight, would you like to test one of our cupcakes?"

"Oh that's quite al-" But she was interrupted when Pinkie Pie shoved a cupcake into her mouth as well as one into Spike's mouth. Normally Twilight would get mad at such a gesture, but it was Pinkie Pie after all. She then chewed and said, "Carrot Cake?"

"Yep!" Pinkie Pie replied, beaming. "Mrs. Cake's special recipe too!"

After swallowing, she wiped the frosting and crumbs off her mouth. "Well I'm sure everyone, including the Princess, will enjoy them very much."

"Oh Pinkie Pie," Mr. Cake then called to her. "Do you mind helping me mixing this batter?"

"Not at all!" Pinkie Pie said, bouncing over to him. "Well Twilight, I guess I'll see you later then!"

Since they were still in town, Twilight decided to go to Fluttershy's home next. Fluttershy was the most shy among her friends, so Twilight was not expecting anything big to be happening. Of course, she was wrong when she knocked on the door and Fluttershy came out.

"Hello Twilight, how are you today?" Fluttershy asked in her usual soft voice. She didn't seem to notice the surprised look on Twilight's face. Probably because there were two bunnies on her head, a squirrel around her mane and probably dozens of other animals in her house, except for snakes thankfully.

"I'm… good," Twilight replied. "Um… Fluttershy… you're not going to be wearing those animals, are you?"

"Oh of course not," Fluttershy said, smiling. "In fact, I'm making sure they're all spruced up for when the Princess comes."

Twilight laughed. "But… Fluttershy… how can-?" She then saw that she had a brush, cleaning products and small clothing for each of them to wear. "Nevermind," she then said.

"If you want to, you can help me out with some of these little guys," Fluttershy asked. "If you want to though…"

"I'd love to Fluttershy, but I have to go find everyone else and say hello to them and such," Twilight replied. "But maybe if I have time, I'll try to come back?"

"Okay, that's fine," Fluttershy said happily. "Well, hopefully we'll see you later." After closing the door, Twilight took a sigh of relief. The one thing about Fluttershy is that while she's nice, shy, and calm most of the time, getting her upset was the one thing you never did. She had seen that at the first Galloping Gala that they went to, and unfortunately, she could easily become overstressed and… snap.

Finally, Twilight and Spike headed out of Ponyville and went towards Sweet Apple Acres where her friend Applejack was currently hard at work bucking apples. "Howdy Twilight," she said to her once she came up. "Buckin' these apples is hard work, but I know I gotta be prepared when the Princess arrives. I got Big Mac and even Applebloom to help me out."

"So what are you going to do with all these apples?" Twilight asked.

"Oh the usual," Applejack replied. "Setting up the shop and makin' apple pies, apple fritters, apple dumplings, ya name it. Of course, we're also plannin' on sending some baskets to the Princess as a gift. Only the best apples come from here ya know."

"Well I'm sure she'll appreciate that a lot," Twilight said. "So how many apples do you need?"

"Oh a lot of them that's fer sure," Applejack replied. "We already picked the whole acre of them in front of the barn, and I'm probably gonna have ta' buck this entire acre myself. Like I said, Big Mac and Applebloom are takin' care of the rest."

"Well…" Twilight said. "I'll tell you what AJ, I still have to go find Rainbow Dash but once I do, I'll try to come back and help you with the picking."

"Aw shucks Twilight," Applejack said. "That's pretty nice of ya. I guess I could use the help if it'll make things faster. Well thanks sugarcube, and good luck trying to get ol' Rainbow Dash out. She's probably sleeping in as usual, ya know."

"Yeah, I figured as much," Twilight replied. Soon they were on their way to Rainbow Dash's house, which wasn't too far from the farm.

"Uh… Twilight?" Spike then asked. "You do realize the position you're putting yourself in?"

"I do realize it," Twilight replied confidently. "Once we find Rainbow Dash, I'll head back to help out Applejack, and then after a little while I'll tell her I have to go help Fluttershy and then go to her house for a little while and before going back home I'll stop by Rarity's to get my dress and I should still be able to get there early before everypony starts showing up."

Spike sighed. "I just hope you know what you're about to do."

Once they finally got to Rainbow Dash's house, which was in a tree, Twilight couldn't see her through the window. "Hey Rainbow Dash, are you up!" Twilight called out. No answer. She tried again but still no activity. "Well… she could either be out somewhere or still sleeping… I'm gonna go with the latter." As athletic as Rainbow Dash was, she was equally as lazy. A pair of traits like that weren't common at all in Equestria. But regardless, she was a proud Pegasus and in the last two years she was finally able to join the Wonderbolts, Cloudsdale's famous group of fliers. While their main goal was to entertain, Princess Celestia has often in the past called upon to in case trouble happened to creep up somewhere.

"Wait here Spike," she said and soon teleported into her house. As she had expected, Rainbow Dash was sprawled on her bed snoring slightly. Shaking her head, Twilight went up to her and nudged her slightly. "Wake up Rainbow Dash," she said softly. Rainbow Dash then turned over and grunted slightly, saying something along the lines of "Not now mom…"

Twilight tried again but nudged her a little harder but got the same effect. Finally, getting an idea and smiling slightly, she moved up close to her ear and at the top of her lungs cried, "RAINBOW DASH!"

Rainbow Dash jolted awake and spun across the room in confusion before landing right in front of Twilight, giving a salute. "Captain Spitfire, Private Rainbow Dash is here and accounted for ma'am!" The titles were not actually given to Spitfire or Rainbow Dash, but it was a gig in their group. Suddenly, Rainbow Dash got a hold of herself and woke up. "Huh? Twilight? What the heck did you do that for!"

"I was trying to wake you up," Twilight shot back. "I think it's a little unfair that everyone else is up busting their tails while you're in here sleeping."

"Oh come on Twilight," Rainbow Dash whined slightly, "I have to go meet the Wonderbolts at eight for practice, which means…" She then glanced at her clock. "I still have an hour to sleep so… night!" She made a sprint towards her bed but Twilight managed to grab a hold of her tail.

"I think you've had enough sleep for today," Twilight said sternly, while Rainbow Dash glowered at her slightly.

"Fine, fine," Rainbow Dash muttered. "I guess I could help the Pegasi with the weather for today."

"That sounds like a great idea," Twilight responded, smiling. "Well, you better get to it then before practice starts."

"Right… I'll get to it…" Rainbow Dash then burst out of her window at a fast pace, causing dust and such to fly everywhere. No doubt she did that on purpose.

Twilight then teleported back where Spike was. "Well… that went better than I expected, but almost what I expected."

"She was sleeping, wasn't she?" Spike asked.

"Yes she was," Twilight responded as they headed back to Applejack's place. "Indeed she was."

The capital city of Canterlot was bustling with activity, even more so than the other cities and towns. Canterlot was the heart of Equestria, and therefore Princess Celestia's home. People had gone to work as early as four o'clock, making preparations. After all, Celestia was planning to address the capital first before going to every other place.

The Royal Palace was just as busy. Security had been tightened slightly and the princess' aides were going all over the place, making sure she was ready and prepared. Meanwhile, Celestia was in her room writing down the speech she would use to address the nation today. There was then a knock and one of her aides come inside. "Princess Celestia, your chariot is almost ready to disembark for this afternoon, and citizens are already lining up at the gates."

"I would've expected no other," Celestia replied, smiling while finishing her speech. "There… that should do it…"

"Princess I was wondering one other thing," her aide asked. "Do you wish to invite your student Twilight Sparkles and her friends to the capital to hear your speech?"

Celestia laughed slightly. "Please, Twilight is no longer my student, she is my friend." Truthfully, recently she had told Twilight that her reports were no longer necessary but did insist that she write her a letter every so often to see how she was doing. While she didn't admit it out loud, Twilight was like a daughter to her and she was dedicated to protect her and her friends. "Besides, even if I did, I know she would decline so she could help her friends in Ponyville. I will make sure to see her when I go down to Ponyville later on."

Suddenly the doors barged open and one of her guards came through, panting slightly. "Princess," he stated. "Forgive me for intruding but this is important. Something is happening in the sky!"

"The sky?" Celestia asked. She then went over to her telescope that she had and looked through it. "What in Equestria…?" She looked up and saw the moon, but for some reason now there was a smaller moon right next to it. There never were two moons. "I have never seen such a thing…" she said. She then kept looking and saw what looked like black specks coming from the sky. Looking more, the figures started to come into view. "No…" she suddenly pulled away and turned to the guard. "Muster all your forces. Monsters are coming to invade our kingdom!"

The guard quickly acknowledged and left to gather his troops.

"Monsters, your majesty?" Celestia's aide asked nervously. "What is going on?"

"I do not know," Celestia responded. "But I sense something foul… threatening to destroy our beautiful world."

The attack was clearly coordinated, for the monsters, whether they were dragons, manticores, behemoths, etc., only attacked the castle and spared the city itself. While these monsters were vicious, the Royal Guard did not earn their title easily, for they themselves were powerful ponies dedicated to protecting the crown. And while they were able to defeat the creatures, the attacks kept coming, until they were worn out and had to retreat.

Celestia could no longer stand by while her people risked their lives. "Your majesty," one of the guards said before she could go out. "We were assigned to protect you, it is very dangerous outside."

"I am aware of that," Celestia sternly. "But my citizens come before me and if you wish to stay by my side, then I am going to the top floor outside." She then teleported, along with the guards to the top tower outside. She could see that the palace had indeed been sieged and monsters were crawling everywhere. Soon however, the monsters disappeared, just like that.

"They're gone…" Celestia said softly. Things were getting stranger by the minute.

(A/N: Alright, for this part, the song I'm using is "Mysterious Girl Theme" from Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.)

"Princess look!" one of the guards cried out. "Up there!" *Celestia looked up and saw a small beam of light was coming from the second moon. It floated down softly to the balcony in front of them. Soon the light disappeared and in its stead was a white unicorn. The color was different, but the markings looked similar to…

"Luna?" Celestia asked. "No, it can't be. Who are you?" The two guards stepped out in front of her, protecting her.

The unicorn, showing no emotion, raised one of her hoofs and suddenly the two guards were petrified in stone. "Such weak creatures you are," she said, almost monotonously. "We had expected more from you, but we are disappointed."

"Just who are you?" Celestia asked calmly. "And why are you doing this?"

"We find you too inferior to explain our cause," the unicorn replied. "We are the superior group of beings, and the Creator will have this world as is. Resistance is futile."

"Then you leave me no choice," Celestia said, conjuring up one of her powerful and launching it at the unicorn. There was a small explosion but once the smoke cleared the unicorn appeared unharmed.

"How pitiful…" the unicorn said. "The Creator is aware of your power, Celestia, ruler of Equestria. It seems he was mistaken about you…" And once again she lifted up a hoof and a bolt of energy came and struck Celestia down. It did not kill her but instead knocked her out.

The citizens of Canterlot were somewhat aware but confused of what had taken place. It looked as if though monsters were appearing out of nowhere but as quickly as they came, they disappeared. Shrugging it off, they decided to continue on with their plans for the day.

(A/N: And for the title sequence, the song I'm using is "Calamity" from Two Steps From Hell. I was gonna go with a royal theme but this theme fits the mood better for the storyline.)

    2. The Parting of the Ways

Chapter 2: The Parting of the Ways

As the morning continued on, preparations were finally done in Ponyville, and even ahead of schedule. All the ponies of Ponyville could do now was wait for their beloved ruler to arrive.

Almost three hours later, there was still no sign of Princess Celestia and some of the ponies were becoming restless, if not concerned.

"We've been waiting her for a long time…"

"You don't think something came up and she had to cancel?"

"I'm sure she's probably in Manehattan or Fillydelphia right now…"

"Maybe the mayor should try to contact her to see what's going on?"

"This is very strange," Twilight said. "I know the princess was going to be in the capital for awhile but surely she would spend equal time in each city. There are a lot of places to visit after all."

"Maybe she got stuck in traffic or something?" Spike asked. Twilight gave him a weird look. "What? I heard the traffic in Manehattan is terrible in the morning."

"Well, if something came up, I'm sure she would let everyone know," Twilight replied. "And if not, I could always write her a letter…"

Suddenly Spike belched and out came a letter. "Well, I think this answers your question."

"For me?" Twilight asked, surprised. If the Princess had a sudden emergency, surely she would've let the mayor know. But her? It must be something important. She then unrolled the parchment and read through the finely detailed text.

    Dear Twilight,

I was really hoping to spend this day free of any issues or concerns that could possibly come up. Unfortunately, even today is not the case. Something very drastic and important has just come up and unfortunately I must cancel all my appointments with the citizens of Equestria. However, I do wish to see you and your friends so a chariot will come to take you to Canterlot. Once you arrive I will explain everything. My sincerest apologies to everypony who was waiting for my arrival.

    Sincerely,

    Princess Celestia

After reading it, ideas shot through Twilight's head. "It couldn't be Discord again, could it? No, I'm sure we've seen the last of him. What else could it be then?"

"Twilight?" Spike asked. "What did she say?"

"Something has come up," Twilight reported. She then looked around and saw that many other ponies were staring. "Um… the princess has informed me that she will not be able to come to Ponyville and sends her sincerest apologies." She then had a sheepish grin on her face, but it soon disappeared when many other ponies cleared out, grumbling in disappointment.

"Twilight!" Twilight looked over and saw Rarity coming up to them. "What in Equestria is going on? The princess hasn't shown up and now everyone's starting to go home."

"Maybe this will explain things," Twilight said, showing her the letter.

After reading it, Rarity looked back up to her. "Goodness, I hope things are alright."

"I'm sure whatever it is, Princess Celestia has it under control," Twilight said confidently. "Anyway, we better go and look for the other girls and tell them what's going on."

After managing to find everyone, (including a disgruntled Rainbow Dash who had been in the middle of practice with the Wonderbolts) Twilight once again explained the situation in Celestia's letter. "If this is some kind of emergency, then why are we needed?" Applejack asked.

"Ooh ooh ooh!" Pinkie Pie said, jumping in the air. "Maybe the Princess is holding a huge surprise party for us!"

"Ya know, I really do wonder where you get some of these ideas of, Pinkie Pie," Applejack replied with a weird glance.

"Maybe it could be Discord again…" Fluttershy suggested softly.

"I thought of that too, but it seems highly unlikely," Twilight said.

    "Um… Twilight?" Rarity asked.

"What is it Rarity?" Twilight replied.

"Maybe that might answer your question…" Rarity said, pointing upwards. Looking up, they all saw that next to the moon was another moon, almost the same size and color.

"Whoa! When did we get another moon!" Rainbow Dash cried out. "This is awesome!"

"This is most certainly not awesome!" Rarity snapped.

"Another moon could affect the planet drastically," Twilight explained. "But how did this happen?"

Soon a chariot appeared out of the sky and flew down, landing next to them. "Well, I guess we're gonna be finding out soon enough," Applejack said.

(A/N: For this part, the song I'm using is "Main Theme" from Lost Odyssey.)

*Soon the group was making their way towards Canterlot. They did not go there often, unless it came time for the Grand Galloping Gala. As they continued, the Royal Palace, the grand pinnacle of the capital, came closer and closer and soon they landed at the entrance as the capital was bursting with activity.

Once they got off the chariot, they were then escorted by the Guard into the castle. Seeing the palace, and the capital for that matter, on a normal day showed that each day in the city was as busy as the next. They entered the castle and were surprised to see that the activity inside was almost non-existent. Things must've been worse than they feared.

Once they reached the magnificently large doors to the throne room, the members of the Guard stopped them there. "We will notify the Princess of your arrival," one of them said before going inside.

Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie was noticing her tail was shaking. It was not her doing it, but rather what she called her "Pinkie sense." Realizing this, she thought perhaps it was because of the moon but now that she thought about it, something didn't seem right.

Applejack had the same feeling in her gut as she looked around for the time being. "Something just don't feel right in here…"

Soon the guards returned and the doors opened, allowing them passage. The Grand Hall was a magnificent structure which dated back centuries but has always been kept in excellent shape. There, at her throne, stood Princess Celestia. "Oh Twilight," she then said, walking down to them. "It is good to see you and your friends again. Once again I must apologize for not telling all of you sooner."

"There's no need to apologize Princess," Twilight said kindly. "I'm sure whatever is going is much more important."

"Well, since you've brought it up, I should explain everything then," Celestia said. She then went over to the window where her telescope stood. "As I'm sure you've all noticed, a strange event has taken place."

"So… you know why there is a second moon in the sky?" Rarity asked.

"I'm afraid I don't," Celestia responded. "But that's not my biggest concern. The moon's sudden appearance is causing unrest for the creatures in our world, especially those in the Everfree Forest. They had recently attacked the castle…"

This made all of them gasp. "Is everything okay?" Twilight asked, concern in her voice.

"Yes, they somehow disappeared shortly after attacking," Celestia explained. "But I'm afraid other regions will be affected just like us."

"Wait, I just thought about something," Applejack then said. "Princess, do you have any idea where Princess Luna may be?"

Celestia was silent for a few moments. "No, I do not unfortunately," she then replied. "In fact, I haven't heard from her in some time."

"Hmm… well I figured since she knows a whole lot about the moon and such maybe she would know," Applejack explained.

"Now Applejack," Rarity stated. "You couldn't possibly be suggesting that Princess Luna is somehow behind all this?"

"Well… w-what if somehow she turned back into… N-Nightmare Moon?" Fluttershy asked nervously.

"Don't be ridiculous!" Twilight said quickly. "We all saw Princess Luna months ago on Nightmare Night and she was her normal self."

"It is best not to jump to conclusions," Celestia said. "Now then, I have an important for all of you ponies. It won't be easy, but I know I couldn't count on anyone else. We may need the Elements of Harmony but I… hid them to new locations after what Discord did of course. They are in different areas all over Equestria and in order to save time, you all will go find them separately?"

"Separate?" Twilight asked. Never had she had to go on a journey without her friends. Being together was what made them successful in their previous endeavors. "Princess… I'm a bit surprised you would want us to divide up, cause usually we're used to being together."

"Twilight," Rainbow Dash said then. "It's obvious you never heard of the phrase 'divide and conquer.'"

Celestia smiled. "I understand your concern Twilight, but the lessons you and your friends have learned over the years have made you stronger. Even on your own you can always count on your friends being with you, even if they're not with you physically."

The thought had never come to her, but it made sense. "Of course," Twilight said smiling. "You're absolutely right. Our hearts are one and our friendship will never be broken, even when we're on separate paths."

"Well, now that you've all agreed," Celestia said. "Rainbow Dash, you're going to the town of Dole, which is in Angland. And I've the other members of the Wonderbolts to accompany you."

"Awesome!" Rainbow Dash said with a salute. "Won't let you down Princess."

"Applejack, you're going to the town of Appleloosa."

"Yeehaw!" Applejack exclaimed. "Now that's my kind of town."

"Rarity, you'll be going to Dartmoor, which is east of Manehattan."

"Oh my," Rarity said. "I've never heard of the place but it sure sounds like a popular place to go see."

"Fluttershy, your element is in a cave south of the Peruvian Pass."

    "A-A cave?" Fluttershy asked. "Well… I guess I could go there… if I have to…"

"Pinkie Pie, you'll be going to Fillydelphia. I um… figured yours would be the easiest to find…"

"Ooh!" Pinkie Pie said. "Maybe I could do some sight seeing, see the Liberty Bell, the-!"

"And Twilight, you'll be going to Trottingham," Celestia finally told her.

"Oh, well that doesn't seem too bad then," Twilight said, relieved.

"Once you retrieve the Elements of Harmony, we can try to put everything back to the way it was," Celestia then stated. "I do wish all of you the best of luck and a safe journey, to and back."

"Um… what should I do Princess?" Spike then asked.

"Ah yes Spike. I was hoping you could help me by being one of my assistants while the girls are gone. There is still some paperwork I need filling out still." Spike groaned. Going to Trottingham seemed like a more fun idea than that. "Now then, if you don't mind, ponies, it is best that you all get going as soon as possible. Time may not be on our side."

"We'll make sure to come back with the Elements in one piece Princess," Twilight said confidently.

Afterwards, once they left the throne room, all were thinking different thoughts. "Goodness Pinkie Pie, are you still bouncing around like that?" Rarity said.

"I can't help it," Pinkie Pie said while bouncing. "My Pinkie sense is going off the charts!"

"Well, I can see why," Applejack said.

"What do you mean Applejack?" Twilight asked.

"Oh come on now," Applejack replied. "Weren't any of you feeling a chill up yer spine or something? Cause I sure was. Something doesn't seem right with all this."

"Oh AJ, the moon is probably giving you that thought," Twilight said. "Like the princess said, if we get the Elements of Harmony, we can fix all this easily."

"I sure hope so…" Applejack muttered. And so began the ponies' journeys, branching out on different paths but will eventually meet in the middle once again. But as they left the castle, "easy" would not be the term used for the following turn of events.

(A/N: And there you have it, Chapter 2 is done. And yes, I had to come up with different names for towns cause the other towns sounded like they were next to each other, but they're all based on horse breeds. :D Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter and next time we will be beginning Twilight's story, or rather her side of the story NEXT TIME!)
