Got things to say below, some interesting, important and me rambling on.

Chapter 22: Of Love

Equestria, Ponyville

'At long last!' Spike said in his mind, feeling his smile go wide.

The gem dragon stares at a glorious red gem that has the shape of a heart, the detail near superb as the light makes it glisten like water. He had been working on it for quite some time, which surprises even him. Spike may be the one who wants to play and not keep doing boring things, however, he was into that alongside Twilight Sparkle which became part of the gem dragon. And Spike didn't mind that, like his mother, Spike has joy in discovering new ideas and expanded knowledge not just for Equestria and the race of his kin. But also information beyond Equestria like Xenthur when he and Joe visited about a month or so ago. Seeing new land, new culture, creatures and their way of life made Spike wanting to discover more.

'Dude...this knowledge stuff is making me tired, gotta be proud of what I actually made! For days I've been making this gem...and...Oh boy it looks so good to eat!' he thought to himself.

As Spike continues to craft some extra detail and shape to the gem, he walks into the living room and sees Joe relaxing on the couch, snoring softly. Twilight Sparkle as usual is studying quietly until she hears Spike crafting his gem and smiles at him "hey Spike, I see you're nearly done with that"

The gem dragon nods happily, staring at his reflection in the gem "yup, and now that I finished it, time to stuff my face-" he stops after a knock on the door interrupts him.

Twilight tilts her head curiously and trots over "huh, not expecting anypony today" she says curiously, opening the door.

Rarity appears at the entrance with a smile, she is wearing one of her fancy coats and sunglasses. The white pony uses her magic to levitate the sunglasses up "Hello dear, smashing day today isn't it?"

Spike's eyes widen and blushes faintly "w-whoa..."

Rarity giggles and slowly walks in whilst Twilight gently closes the door, the white mare begins to take off the dress and lays it down perfectly on a table. "So everypony, how is everything?"

"Pretty well thanks for asking and sorry if I'm rude here but is there something you wanted or we can help?" asked Twilight.

"Well dear, I actually finished off the dress you wanted and came to see if you wanted any last touches by coming with me" said Rarity.

Spike's shoulders slump slightly, feeling a bit disappointed that was the reason why she visited, but being fair, it's none of his business as to what she does. However the gem dragon does feel a need to connect with her more since they're seeing each other and talking more often thanks for his lean towards maturity (saying that lightly). Rarity notices Spike drooling a bit, staring at her while holding the most beautiful gem she has ever seen before, she gasps loudly "oh..my..gosh...Spikey, that gem is so...wonderful!" said Rarity, her eyes sparkling.

The gem dragon blushes red at her noticing him and even complimenting about the gem he made "t-thanks Rarity, I-I made it myself" he says shyly.

"My Spikey Wikey made that beautiful gem? What ever will you do with such a marvellous thing?" asks Rarity, still captivated by the gem.

Spike smiles and looks it proudly "I'm gonna eat it, it'll certainly most delicious thing I've come to eat so far!"

Joseph raises his hand while reading a novel "you said that differently, almost like Rarity-"

The dragon points at him "d-did not!"

Rarity meanwhile chatters her teeth, worrying that Spike eating the gem would go to waste, something well crafted and precious just being eaten. She can't bear to see it happening but deep down, the mare knew Spike well enough that it's his to choose what he does "something like that to be eaten and not preserved or used is..." she sighs softly "if that's what you wish Spike, I hope you enjoy it."

Spike quietly stares at his gem in deep thought then looks back at Rarity, he slowly lifts it up to Rarity who looks down curiously "here Rarity...you can have it" he says, showing a hint of sadness.

Rarity widens her eyes in shock and surprise at his generosity towards her, giving something that he personally made for himself to herself. It's a big gesture to give and this made Rarity feel warm inside "oh Spikey wikey...I-I can't take it...y-you made it and-"

Spike cuts her off "nah...Rarity, it would be better if it was with you than me to eat it."

Joseph and Twilight smiles warmly at the young dragon, both feeling a sense of love and pride for their son/brother. He has matured over the past few weeks after saving Rarity, for someone so young in dragon years and the way he was brought up. Colts and fillies wouldn't of yet.

Rarity gasps loudly, if not a bit over dramatic in Joe and Twilight's point of view, tears form in the unicorn's eyes "a-a-are you absolutely sure Spikey Wikey? Y-You made it yourself"

Spike smiles at her shyly/sadly "Rarity...it's better for you too keep it...than for me to eat" he says, slowly holding it up to her.

The unicorn takes it and marvellous at the beautiful crafted gem "oh it looks so smashing!" rarity shouts out the turns her attention towards Spike looking at the floor "and for you..."

Spike perks his chin up with intrigue and soon feels a pair of soft lips on his cheeks; it wasn't just a quick one but a good 4 seconds. His head is in a daze, the dragon's eyes turning into heart shapes and blushes intensely "t-t-thank you Rarity!"

Joe smiles at the scene with Twilight, they see his cheek has Rarity's lipstick mark which made them chuckle. Rarity looks very giddy and very pleased with the new gem, like a child opening a Christmas present that they always wanted. Spike on the other hoof...well...the rest you know.

Rarity beams at Twilight "So darling, would you like to see your fabulous dress I made?"

Twilight chuckles "okay Rarity, lead the way!"

The mares wave to the boys and slowly walk out of the room and closed the door. Spike is still daydreaming and sighing romantically, Joe smiles at him "well well...aren't you a lucky one?"

Spike nods slowly as he touches the lipstick mark "oh boy...you can say that again. I am never ever gonna wipe this kiss mark away."

Joseph's face dropped to a blank expression "what?" he asks.

The gem dragon keeps dreaming of all the things that could possibly happen with him and Rarity in the near future "you heard me bro, never washing it off!"

"Oh yes you are" said Joe seriously.

Spike stares at Joe "No...I'm not" he replies seriously.

They continued to stare at each other silently, wondering who is going to make the next move. The human decided to make the first move by calmly walking over to the sink in the kitchen. Spike blinks in confusion, after all that, is Joe going to just wash the dishes? But slowly he realises something, the human isn't washing the dishes, but getting a wet cloth!

Joseph turns around slowly and holds the wet cloth, smiling at the little gem dragon "just give up Spikey, and accept your fate."

Spike gasps loudly, yelling and worried of losing his kiss mark "no! Never! You can't catch me!* he shouts, running around the library.

Joe laughs and runs after him "oh yes I am! Come here Spikey!"

As they run around the library, the human begins to notice something a bit different about Spike. Until now, he thinks his best friend is actually running a lot faster than before...Joe barely able to keep a pace with him going around the place 'Whoa...what's going on? Spike is faster than usual!' he thought.

Finally, after running and hiding for about 15 minutes, Joseph catches Spike with one hand and gently rubs Spike's face. Muffling the protests Spike is trying to make and pushes Joe's hand away, now with a clean face. The human smiles "now there's a cute little dragon, aren't you?"

Spike blushed faintly and can't help but hug his face "hush big brother..."

Joseph returns the hug, doing this for a minute in silence as they feel a moment of bonding like friends and brothers. Something that has been missing for a few weeks, now, they feel nothing can break it apart "so...what do you wanna do now Spike?"

The gem dragon grins widely "how about we go prank Applejack by putting slime on the-"

"Oh no! Nonononono! Oh no! We are NOT gonna face the risk of a painful and slow death by pranking her!" Joe yells, remembering the last time they played a violin (awfully) at night outside her window and she came out charging towards them.

Spike smiles and pats Joe's head "oh relax! It was a joke!"

Joe sighs in relief, shaking his head in disbelief, but quickly he notices something terribly wrong with the library as they ran around for the past 15 minutes. Spike wonders what was wrong but soon notices the issue as well, his reaction is more dramatic "...Joe...I'm SPACE WALKIN'! TWI IS GONNA FLIP!"

If this wasn't bad enough, looking out the window seeing Twilight slowly making her way towards the library. Spike and Joseph screams loudly and rush like a mad headless chicken, trying the hardest to quickly tidy the place up before the mare returns.

The library door opens up, Twilight is wearing a nice yellow and simple dress with a bright smile "hey boys! I'm back, what do you think to my...my...my..."

Twilight slowly walks forward, eyes wide, worried and shocked "w-w-what is wrong with you two? You two look so out of breath! What have you been doing?!"

Joseph Brooklyn and Spike Sparkle breathe heavily and wheeze, their faces turning red "oh...just...exercising" says Joe, laying on the floor sweating like a beaver.

Twilight sighs in relief "goodness, you two work out too much" she said while looking around the library "how about you rest while I dust the place off? It's pretty tidy"

Spike plants his face on the floor "thanks mom..."

Joe breaths and groans "bro...I think we need to train a lot more."

Spike Sparkle muffles in agreement.

2 days later

Spike is laying on the fields outside of Ponyville, just relaxing and not worrying about any of the chores since it's his day off and he can do almost anything he wants. And today Spike thought he can enjoy the time outside alone, not that he dislikes the company of others. But sometimes the gem dragon wants to capture a good moment and take in his surroundings, peace feels great.

However this doesn't stop him from thinking about Rarity, he hasn't seen much her since she got the gem 2 days ago. He heard from Twilight that Rarity had to do some business trips to advertise her work, at the end of the day...it's still a society and one has to pay the rent while keeping their passion alive. It's not as bad some pay try to exaggerate but it's still part of life. Thinking of Rarity, it has been awhile since the gem last heard from Rarity even if she's doing an important trip to Canterlot "no point worrying over her, she's an independent mare and I gotta respect that. I better get back before lunch" said Spike.

He gets up and sighs, turning around run on the dirt path back to Ponyville, however, he hears something in the distance. A cart being pulled slowly "oh, travellers or traders...I better go see if they need he-"

Suddenly Spike is caught off guard at the sound of somepony yelling from the top of their lungs! A high pitched scream of a mare, with shouts calling for help, desperately hoping somepony is around! Spike's heart races faster than he could think, those sounded like...Rarity! His mind raced with many thoughts of which he didn't want to believe but he wastes no time to dash towards the source of the sounds. Spike goes faster than ever before, hopping and begging nothing bad has happened to Rarity "Rarity!" he shouts, bursting through some bushes.

The gem dragon made a good landing, when he looks up he sees Rarity being surrounded by ponies in dark cloaks as they quickly towards Spike "It's him! Attack!"

Spike gasps in fear, looking at them closely, to him that they mean business. It's been quite awhile but...he feels fear at the moment, something about them is off, negative. Spike goes to reach for his extendible metal staff but sees that it's not there, he left it at home 'Oh no...Okay, they're charging towards me with dark magic I think...it feels awful...focus! Remember your training...remember...'

The cloak ponies all charge and cast destructive spells at Spike but he suddenly dashes out of view, causing them look around "where is he!?" one shouted

"He's fast! We got to return to base-" a cloaked mare shouted until she was cut off by being kicked in the jaw.

The ponies gasp in horror, seeing their comrade knocked out. They shout a battle cry and cast spells to defeat the gem dragon but to no avail as Spike is too fast, all getting slowly knocked out one by one now Spike found a stick for the fight.

Rarity struggles around with the ponies trying to bond her "release me! What do you want with me!? My friends will find you!"

A unicorn mare, whose hoof covers her face, raised her foreleg and pushed Rarity's face "shut up! Dark Mages! We're all moving out!"

Spike stares at what just happened to Rarity, he goes quiet and stares. His thoughts went wild, seeing his friend...loved one...being hit...he could not feel anything left inside.
The Dark Mages blast Spike with a fireball and it knocks him down on the ground, then they all charge towards the gem dragon, stomping him "take this! Your skin can't protect you for long!" one of them yelled.

Rarity manages a glimpse at the sudden commotion; just barely she can see something familiar...a perfect purple matching silk and the scales of pureness. It's Spike, being stomped by their powerful legs, somehow not causing serious damage but his luck won't last any longer. The unicorn feels fear, not wanting to lose her friend who she is starting to build a different relationship. With all her might she screams "SPIKE! NO!"

Spike who was curled in a ball to protect himself, opens his eyes bearing ones of a predator, enraged like never before "AHHHHHHH!" he yells out, like a lion freed from it's cage.

As the gem dragon gets up, he raises his arms with lighting fast speed and surprising strength, causing nearly all Dark Mages to fly a few metres away! Spike breathes heavily, growling loudly and showing his teeth viciously "get...your... hooves...off...MY RARITY!" Spike roars!

Suddenly Spike's body started to change! His claws grow bigger and sharper; his legs grow longer, his body slowly changing to a stronger built dragon!

The female Dark Mage looks on with horror, nothing prepared her for this. She didn't hear anything about this baby dragon able to change form and now shaking with fear, frozen "N-No! This can't be happening!"

In just about a minute of transforming, the dark mages struck with fear while some managed to run or teleport away screaming.

Once a small baby dragon now grown into a full adult, he towers over trees and hills like being defying nature itself. His features greatly matured shaper, stronger and eyes able to pierce the heavens above. Spike growls while looking around his surroundings almost curiously, as if a new person born into life.

Rarity stares up with awe and fear 'W-what...no...I-I'm dreaming...T-this can't be my little Spikey Wikey! But...I saw him change and grow! H-however is this possible!' she thought.

Spike notices her and the other Dark Mages, now doing everything to escape. The large dragon roars loudly and goes to grab the female Dark Mage but she quickly disappears using her magic just in time as Spike grabs a handful of earth, barely missing Rarity.
Rarity stands up and quickly moves out of the way of the giant claws, she shivers, terrified at this unnatural change of events...seeing a hand effortlessly grabbing earth doesn't help either "S-Spike?" she says with her voice trembling.

The giant gem dragon growls at the earth in his hand but quickly looks down when hearing a certain voice speak to him. Spike's eyes stare intensely at Rarity, trembling in fear "S-S-Spike? W-w-what happened to you?" she speaks out.

Spike growls in response, either not understanding or not listening as something has caught his new sharp eyes. Rarity is wearing something around her neck, something...precious looking. He growls softly again as he reaches out for Rarity who barely dodges his grasps "N-No wait! It's me! Don't you remember me-AHHH!" she shrieks when Spike finally caught her.

The mare struggles in his hand and does her very best to get out "Spike! Put me down this instance!" Rarity shouts, standing her ground but trying to find her Spike.

Smoke comes out the giant dragon's nostrils, liking the mare's assertiveness but focuses on the necklace with the heart shape gem. It's a gorgeous red; Spike goes to pick it using his claws. However, Rarity hits his claw (in love of course) and pouts "Oh no you don't mister! We need to talk!"

Spike reels his head back in surprise but makes an annoyed expression with a growl, clearly going to have trouble with this mare.

Joseph Brooklyn drinks some tea with Twilight Sparkle, enjoying the peace with a book to read "have you seen Spike recently? Joe?" The unicorn asks.

The human fixated on the book, doesn't look up "I'm sure he's fine Twilight, we have to let him grow up."

"I know Joe but...he's my son and little dragon, I get worried from time to time."

Joe chuckles "Look, there's nothing to worry about, I'm absolutely sure Spike is fine" he said confidently.

A loud roar is heard, slightly shaking everything in Twilight's library which causes them to stand up quick. Trying to understand what is going, it came from a distance so both rushes out through the door and look around but see other ponies shocked hearing the roar. Fluttershy and Shadow Breeze fly towards them with worried expressions "Oh Twilight! I don't know if you realised, but that was a dragon's roar!"

Twilight gasps, hoping it wouldn't find Ponyville "a-are you sure?!"

"She's certain Twilight, Fluttershy has pretty good understands of dragons" said Shadow.

A pair of hooves is heard galloping to the group, its Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash have equal worried but determination as well. "ah got mah rope ready! Ain't no monster gettin' on Ponyville!" Applejack shouts for morale.

Rainbow Dash does a boxing pose while shadow boxing for warm ups "oh yeah! Bring them on, I'll kick them again!"

Pinkiepie grins as she hops on Twilight's head "oh! Oh! Maybe I can give the dragon a big welcome party! I got JUST the one that they'll love!"

Twilight moans as her horn glows to teleport Pinkie Pie off her head and safely on the ground "no Pinkie Pie! We have to try and see if we're able to talk to this dragon peacefully. If not, we have to try another method but ONLY as a last resort. Alright?"

Everypony nods "right" they said in union.

The unicorn feels relieved to see they all understand how it's all going to be "thanks guys, now, where is the dragon?"

Pinkie Pie giggles loudly; laying down on Twilight's back and points out with her hoof "over there!"

They look at where she is pointing and their jaws drop to the ground except for the pink pony grinning. A giant dragon in the distance and could come towards Ponyville at anytime! Thankfully for the group it seems distracted by something, whatever it is, it's giving valuable time. Rainbow Dash snorts "heh! I can deal with this guy no problem!" she boasts loudly.

Applejack holds her friend's tail in time "hold on! Don't get careless sugercube! Ain't like last time, this one seems ready to attack whatever moves!"

Fluttershy lowers her head "W-We don't need to think like that, t-treating him like a bad guy isn't the way around."

Shadow nods in agreement "she's right; we have to try and give chances instead of judging them. Right Joe?...uh...Joe?"

Joseph Brooklyn is staring at the dragon, sensing something isn't right. He feels that it just couldn't be any random dragon trying to cause havoc for others, the colour of its scales and spikes are extremely familiar. Shadow Breeze hovers next to his human friend curiously "what's wrong Joe?"

"Guys...call me crazy but that looks like Spike, doesn't it?" says Joe, looking for approval.

Everypony looks at the giant dragon for a minute and turns to Joe, with the exception of Applejack, they say together "you're crazy."

Joe becomes utterly speechless for them literally saying he's crazy, although it was his own words, even still. This causes the frustrated young adult to groan "oh come on guys! Not again, just look at him! It HAS to be! Who else is purple and has green spikes? You know I'm right!"

Twilight sighs "Joe, it may look like Spike but the size difference is just too great, even if it was him. How can he just….grow like that?" she asks.

That made Joe even more speechless, surely they had to see! But...how can he prove it is Spike? What if it's a relative of his own species or just a wandering lone dragon? Grudgingly the human sighs "I...don't have the answer to that...I just feel it Twilight, don't you?"

The purple unicorn slowly shakes her head "I don't, sorry."

Shadow Breeze stands next to Joe "they're right Joe, but looking at him more I can see where you're getting at. But growing at that size isn't possible without some sort of magic or ability."

Rainbow Dash smiles widely "alright! Let's charge towards the dragon!" she yells.

"Everypony follow me and stay together! No flying off Rainbow Dash!" Twilight yells to everyone and gallops off for the large dragon.

All was going well so the bigger Spike thought, but he stares down at Rarity in his claws and groans. While listening to Rarity, scolding him for some reason. She refuses to let go of that precious gem, Spike snorts out smoke of frustration. How can a female be so...ferocious, her teeth almost are sharp as his! "What about the times we spent together Spikey Wikey? W-We are starting to try and...Work something out for us! Oh why won't you speak to me? ~"

Spike groan, rubbing his face thinking of how much of a dragon she can be! Suddenly he senses something approaching behind him at a great speed, three pegasi flying towards him wearing some sort of pyjamas with goggles. The Wonderbolts! The giant dragon growls loudly, he prepares to make his counter attack as the three ponies speed increase, hoping that their charge will bring this mighty beast down! When getting close enough, Spike made a fantastic choice for a counter attack! By side stepping out of the way, making the Wonderbolts crash into a cave and Spike quickly grabs a giant rock to block the entrance.

Rarity's jaw drops, unable to believe what just happened again "you just side stepped out the way and they crashed into a cave!? Spikey! I-I don't know if I should be angry or...impressed!...Oh my, did I just say impressed?"

Spike Sparkle chuckles loudly but growls again, something else is behind him but THIS time he'd show no mercy! Roaring loud like thunder strike, he turns and sees more ponies, but they're colourful and one is an odd monkey. The giant gem dragon growls curiously, tilting his head because something about them feels like he knows them...but can't make it out. Fluttershy shivers at the sight of him, she had her share of dragons but can't help but feel intimidated by their size something.
Twilight manages to step forward a bit "o-okay Mr Dragon, we're going to ask you nicely why you're here and if we can help you then...then...RARITY!?" she screams.

Everyone gasps hearing Rarity's name! In fact, it has been quite some time since they last saw their friend but when looking up more, there she is! The giant dragon is holding her, they must do something fast! Rainbow Dash charges at Spike "everyone attack! Save Rarity!" she yells, everyone does except Fluttershy, Shadow and Joe.

Fluttershy widens her eyes with shock "N-No! Don't! That'll only cause him to panic!"

Joe moans loudly "oh crud, if I'm gonna die then at least I'll be either brave!" says the human, joining the others.

Rarity waves her hooves around and sees Rainbow Dash hovering in front "hehe, hey 'princess' are you stuck?" the blue pony smirks.

"Rainbow Dash! This is no time for jokes! Hear me out, this is Spikey Wikey! Our little dragon!" Rarity yells in hope some sense comes to.

"Oh come on Rarity, it's impossible for him to-GAH!" Rainbow Dash is grabbed by Spike and then thrown into the trees.

The pegasi mare has stars in her eyes "l-lucky shot...b-but I'm still cooler!"

Shadow Breezes yells in anger when seeing his friend thrown into trees and bolts towards him. But with his anger getting the best of him, Spike simply repeats vice versa. Shadow sees stars and Rainbow Dash "w-well Shadow...hanging around with the stars?"

Applejack tries using all of her strength by kicking him and lassoing him to the ground but he is just too big and strong. Twilight tries to stop the giant using her magic but faster than she anticipated; he keeps dodging her spells and making her lose focus. Pinkie Pie is having somewhat more luck by throwing large cream pies in his face and using cannons to bring him down. But again, the giant dragon quickly adepts to this and dodges her celebrations.
Spike knew he had to get out of this area quickly so he can have a better terrain advantage, when preparing to dash off, something strong grabs his tail. The gem dragon roars with surprise and sees the monkey thing holding onto his tail to keep him grounded "S...Spike...I-I know it's you...a-and I won't you go until my little brother comes ba-".

Before Joseph could finish anything off, Spike swings his tail upwards and sends Joe flying into the sky while hearing hollering. Rarity covers her mouth and tears form "STOP!" she screams loudly.

This caught Spike, including everyone by surprise...turning all focus towards Rarity "S-Spike! P-Please stop! Y-You have to try and remember who you are! Your friends, family, me! We're all safe and I'm safe...y-you made this gem for yourself but instead you gave it to me! This meant so much to me, showing you how you're the sweetest and kindest little gem dragon I ever met!" says Rarity, sniffing and gently stroking his nose.

"So please...we want out Spike Sparkle back, I want my Spikey Wikey back. B-But if you just want your gem...t-take it" Rarity kisses his nose for a few seconds and shows the gem on her chest.

Spike listens and stares into the gem, suddenly all the past evens before he transformed. Giving it to Rarity because he knew it was best to let her have it, and received a kiss for his generosity. His hardened eyes turn into sorrowful ones, Spike...that is his name. All the anger of losing Rarity is gone and something swells inside, like a balloon popping softly. Just like that, the big gem dragon returns to his normal little gem dragon size. Everyone gasps at seeing this happen, it IS Spike after all!
But Spike and Rarity realise they're still in midair and look down then looking into their eyes, gulping with horror. They fall down towards the ground and yell for dear life! Spike knew this is going to end badly 'I-I-I gotta tell her before we fall to our doom!' he thought.

"R-Rarity!" he yells, getting her attention "I-I know this is a bad time to say this while falling and we're going to die but now is better than never! Y-y-you see I-I had these f-feelings f-f-for awhile s-s-since I f-first s-saw you and just w-wanted to say that I-" he is cut off by the white unicorn.

With Rarity's hoof on Spike's mouth, she stares into his eyes but this time, the look is different. True understand and feeling the same way she smiles with tears in her eyes as they fall. Spike and Rarity hug each other and accept their fate, doing this for about a minute "w-wow...t-this is a l-long fall huh?"

Rarity sniffs and nods "y-y-yes dear...very long to best honest."

They hear loud giggles, sound like Pinkie Pie's giggles. They open their eyes and sees balloons tied to them, and they float down slowly towards the ground. The hyperactive pink pony floats down next to him and smiles "Oooooh! That...sounded...so...cute!~ You two are officially going out! Time to celebrate with a party!~" she hollers and zooms off.

The duo blush, the strings tying them both together...this moment they simply enjoy being with each other for a few more seconds. Eventually they gently land on the ground and everyone runs towards them seeing if they're okay and getting bombarded with questions of what happened. "Spike! W-what happened!? H-How did you turn into a giant dragon!? D-Did somepony use their magic on you!?" Twilight yells as she nuzzles her cheek with his.

Spike blushes "m-mom! I-I'm too tired to say a-and I can't really remembered what happened mostly."

Applejack thinks about this and nods "tellin' the truth sugercube. Plus he's tired...we should get some rest and then ask the questions tonight."

Twilight sighs "you're right, sorry about that Spike...but...I'll need to know tonight. Promise?"

Spike hug her face "I-I promise Twilight...Oh...w-where is Shadow and Rainbow Dash?"

Applejack gulps as she carries an exhausted Rarity on her back while Spike is on Twilight's and looks worried "hehe...u-uh...put it bluntly, ya threw them into some trees. B-But don't worry, Fluttershy is with em' at the bridge!"

Spike Sparkle groans and face palms "oh man...I am sooo gonna get it."

Rarity gives the gem dragon a look of reassurance "don't you worry now Spikey Wikey, I won't let anything happen to you."

They see the Wonderbolts flying off to the cloud, seeing the threat is gone and over. Spike looks at them curiously "and...Were they here to stop me?"

Rarity covers her mouth "w-well yes...b-but you side stepped them a-and stuck them in a cave."

The little gem dragon gasps loudly "Rainbow Dash...is gonna use me as her training dummy!"

Soon they all meet Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Shadow Breeze at the bridge. When telling them that is was Spike who was the giant, it took them by surprise and apologised for hitting Spike but he was the one saying sorry for throwing them in trees (but the blue mare promised Spike would work out for beating the Wonderbolts). They all sat together by the bridge, trying to relax for a bit before heading back to Ponyville but Spike sat alone on the bridge handle feeling depressed for what he had done.
Rarity walks towards him with a concerned look "Spike, are you alright?"

Spike covers his face in shame "no...h-how could I just change into that...that...m-monster? I-I could of hurt everypony!"

"Spike, the ponies in Ponyville haven't noticed you because they were all busy with celebrating Derpy's birthday party thanks to Pinkie Pie. And we forgive you Spike" says Rarity, nuzzling his face.

The gem dragon sniffs "b...b...but what happens i-if I turn into it again? I-I remember seeing you hurt a-and...I-I didn't want to lose you."

Rarity gently moves his face to meet hers "if you didn't change, something would of happened to me and you saved me Spike. My little hero, we have so much to discuss...a-and...your...confession."

Spike feels his heart skip a beat, his dragon blood turning warm while looking into beautiful eyes of Rarity "o-oh Rarity..."

Then out of the blue, she makes an amusing smile "and I want to know about when you said, get your hooves off my Rarity?~" Rarity sings at the end.

Spike quickly holds his tail shyly "um! Um! Um!...I-I-I-I...uh...oh..." he stammers.

Rarity giggles and kisses his nose for a minute and touches his forehead with hers "I liked it."

Spike Sparkle blushes dark as possible but inside, he is enjoying every single second of this moment. A relationship with Rarity? Only time can tell from here on.
Everyone suddenly hears wet steps coming from behind and heavy breathing, they turn around and see Joseph Brooklyn absolutely soaking wet from head to toe. The human lands on his knees and gasps "h-hi...d-did you all forget about me?" he gasps.

The gem dragon covers his mouth and looks at Rarity "let me guess...I threw him into a lake?"

Rarity nods slowly "y-yes darling."

Joe feels something moving in his t-shirt and picks it out, a living fish "o...oh...sorry Mr Fish...h-here you go" he gently puts the fish into the water and it swims off but not before splashing Joe in some anger for taking him away from the fish's spot.

Spike snorts and covers his mouth "I-I guess you had a...f-fishy situation!"

Everypony becomes dead quiet at the poor attempt of a joke but slowly, Joe starts to chuckle which turns to laughing. Applejack, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Shadow and Rarity all join in.

All of them stare at the sun slowly setting in the distance and smile, it was a strange and scary day but...somehow things turned out fine, actually, doing something really special for a duo.
Joe smiles at seeing Spike and Rarity standing closely together "I guess...you're dating?"

They both blush red and glomp their human friend "Joe! N-Not yet!...No! We haven't arranged-...never mind."

Everypony laughs at the sight and they all go back to Ponyville, preparing for a party Pinkie Pie made for Rarity and Spike. Did she mention a wedding cake?

Earth, New York City

Gregory Brooklyn is sitting alone on his coach, sipping on a glass of water and his staring at the wedding rings on the table. Outside is dark, cold and windy...a perfect day for this occasion Greg thought. The police and even his long time friend Jay couldn't find his son, and now telling himself what a failure of a father he has become. Something terrible might of happened to Joseph or...trying to find a better life than being at home. The man slowly gets up and covers his face, feelings warm tears down his face...cussing himself "you damn fool! Your son is gone and you are a failure!" he yells to himself.

Greg cries for a couple of minutes and looks around, remembering the times he had when being home with Joe. He treasured those days like gold and now...it's down deep in depression. Trying to find more memories of the past with his beloved son, Gregory slowly walks up the stairs and goes into Joe's room. Neat and tidy, the police did a massive investigation of the entire house but Joe's room especially however they found nothing tracing Joe or his disappearance. And the human man decided to rearrange the room like it was, now, it only helps him remind the pain of losing Joseph "Joseph...I'm sorry! I...should of taken you with me! But...I-I thought I could find a better life for us all...look at me...I...so sorry."

Gregory sniffs and wipes his face but suddenly he looks around and feels something strange in the room. When concentrating, it's very faint but...he slowly touches his chest and grips his shirt "wait...no..."

Discord quietly sits on his stone throne and looks out of the window, a clear view of Celestia's palace. Oh how long he had waited for this day to get his revenge for what she and Luna had done to him "Hmm...I feel my power almost ready...I won't be as strong as I was yet but I'm strong enough now. Oh, and I see trying to capture on the elements of harmony failed?"

The shadow figure's shoes can be seen in the darkest shadow " Apologies Lord Discord, things went beyond our plans but no matter, we have no need of them now, we have our alternative and also...I approve of your statement, however, please bear with us. We need just a little more time, it'll feel like closing your eyes when we finish."

Discord smiles widely and rests his head on his fist "Oh...why not? If this plan of yours is going to help me, then I will wait as long as it'll do the job?"

The figure chuckles deeply "oh yes Lord Discord...I swear, it shall be worth the wait. Soon...They shall know true terror!" Discord's laugh can be heard throughout his entire lair.

Hey guys! Okay...I'm really REALLY sorry for another long and horrible wait! I'm just going to tell you all the truth right now. I have been going through work and had to dedicate a lot of my time towards it and still doing successful with my first ever job and I wish to maintain it.
Second, I have been lazy which I'm saying out right now, I been watching videos, movies and mostly trying to play games because when I get home from work. I don't really have a lot of time to myself. Gotta get to sleep and be ready for work in the morning. So I was trying to play most of the games I could (Destiny TTK is a big example of that) but I never forgot about this story. In fact, just reading your comments (which I'm gonna give an alternative below) made me get off my fat butt and get back to work! So thank you all for supporting me and welcome to my new readers!
And maybe a friend of mine got me to adore the Steven Universe series...yes, it's a brilliant show. Garnet forever!

So, with that out of the way. I'm sorry if this chapter is rushed and knowing me, horribly written, I try my best but I just kept writing and not looking back. But I hope you still liked the idea.
