Notes: This fic was written for Equestria Daily's 300 word fic contest. The only requirement (beyond being 300 words or less) was that it be about The Great and Powerful Trixie.

The Great and Powerful Trixie's life wasn't going according to plan.

The plan had been very specific. Stage 1: travel Equestria. Stage 2: Become famous. Stage 3: Become a court magician and live the good life. It had gone well, until an Ursa Minor crashed through Stage 1, along with her stagecoach.

So here she was, 500 miles from home in La Nacion de Mulas, performing in some pueblo. She hated it. The food was too spicy, the days were hot, the nights were freezing, she knew three phrases in Mulish, and the less said about the local bathrooms, the better. Also, she'd lost her signature hat to a whirlwind and now wore one of the local sombreros.

All in all, the Great and Powerful Trixie was not a happy camper.

One of the locals poked his head into her dressing room. "Pardon me, but the show begins in five minutes."

Trixie considered making a snide remark, but decided against it. The only good thing about this place was the pay, which she needed if she was going to get back to Stage 1 of the plan. She just nodded and said, "Gracias." Clearly her accent was worse than she thought, since her Mulish always earned chuckles from the locals.

As she peeked through the curtains a moment later, she saw that the whole town had come out to see her. The little children were practically bouncing in their seats, and even the adults gave off an excited energy that was almost palpable.

Trixie frowned as the mule from before announced her as, "La Atractiva y Descarada Trixie." She was pretty sure that was wrong. She'd have words with him. She leapt out on stage to a cascade of fireworks as the crowd roared. She lived for these moments.

"Bueno."
