Celestia's Weakness
Chapter 1: The Deaths
Load Full Story Next ChapterIt was a sad day in Ponyville. Celestia herself had attended the funeral. The night before, the mane six, keepers of the elements of harmony, had all died.
Pinkie Pie was having a sleepover at Applejack's house on Sweet Apple Acres. She had partied too hard, thus dying. After this happened, Applejack went out into the orchard and applebucked herself to death. On a flyover, Rainbow Dash saw Applejack's body. Despite their petty rivalry, they had a very strong friendship. Rainbow Dash flew into an empty field and slit her throat. As Fluttershy was escorting some animals to a new house, she flew ahead a little bit. She found Rainbow Dash's body. When she picked up the knife, the animals (All of them were bears) thought she had killed Rainbow Dash. They mauled Fluttershy to death.
Rarity, looking for some furs to use in a new dress, was walking to Fluttershy's house when she saw the bodies. Out of sadness, she promptly walked home and crushed herself with Tom. (She'd actually kept it) Looking for Rarity's opinion on a dress in a book she'd found, Twilight saw her body. In mourning, she beat her head in with the book she was carrying.
The next morning, Spike found all of the bodies. He sent a letter to Princess Celestia, who almost immediately used her magic to teleport to Ponyville. The funeral was later that night. As the mane six were lowered into their graves, a dark lightning cloud swirled around the cemetery. A disembodied voice resounded through the air. "Now that your heroes are dead" It said. "I can now take my rightful place on the throne!" There was evil laughter as the cloud dissipated.
Everypony attending the funeral looked at Princess Celestia. Her eyes were wide. "I have to get to Canterlot." She said, and teleported away.
The Introduction Of A New Villain
When Celestia arrived in her house, she galloped into her personal library. She pulled out the fifth edition in her personal journal. She flipped a few pages in. She read the few pages on the subject she feared had arisen again.
Today, my good friend Alvina the Unicorn turned dark. She had always looked up to Luna for being fair and just, and, when Luna turned against Equestria, I suppose it rattled her. Alvina saw that, as Luna had been banished to the moon, that she, being the closest thing to my sister in all of Equestria, should become princess by my side. When I refuse, she attacked. She had mustered up a small army of ponies brainwashed by her powerful magic.
I didn't want to hurt any of my loyal citizens, possessed by Alvina as they were. I simply overpowered Alvina's magic with mine, freeing them from her power. They attacked Alvina, and wrestled her to the ground. From there, my royal guards grabbed hold of her. From there, I banished Alvina to the Wendigo-infested lands to the east, fearing that, if I sent her to the moon, she and Luna would team up and break free of the barrier I had created.
There was a voice from behind Celestia. "Well, I see you still remember that." Celestia jumped. She turned around to see Alvina. She was standing outside of the window, on the backs of two brainwashed pegasi.
"How did you get back?" Celestia asked.
"Well," Alvina replied. "You're not acting friendly. You could have said hello."
"Answer my question." Celestia said through gritted teeth.
"Fine." Alvina said. "The wendigoes and I made a little pact. Being that we both prosper from fighting, we agreed that, if they freed me, they could become the master of the weather in Equestria."
"You monster." Celestia answered.
"Regardless, being that I am the pony with the superior magic, I hereby banish YOU to the Everfree Forest. May you forever roam, never finding the exit."
As Alvina said this, Celestia's body was slowly dissolving, teleporting into the Everfree Forest. "I'll be back Alvina!" Celestia yelled. "And when I get back, you won't be unfairly on the throne anymore!"
Celestia In Exile
When Celestia had been banished to the Everfree Forest, she immediately went to look for Zecora. After two or three hours of searching, she found the zebra. "Greetings, my princess, here, you may rest." Zecora said.
"I'm not here for sleep!" Celestia snapped. When she saw the dejected look on the zebra's face, she said "I'm sorry, Zecora. My old enemy, Alvine is back, and she's stronger than ever. I need to elements of harmony to defeat her, and I can't get to the library."
"Your trouble, I see, is not with me." Zecora replied. "The place you must look, is not the house of books."
"The elements of harmony aren't in the library?" Celestia asked.
"They were taken, you see, not by a pony." Zecora answered.
"I don't understand." Celestia replied. Zecora motioned for Celestia to follow her. Zecora trotted into another room of her hut, where a curtain was hanging. She pulled it back, revealing a sleeping Spike. "Spike, wake up!" Celestia said, shaking the baby dragon.
"Ungh." He moaned. "Five more minutes, Twilight, I'll send the letter later."
"Spike" Said Celestia gently. "There's no need to send a letter, I'm right here."
Spike bolted up. "Oh, Princess Celestia, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you!" He exclaimed.
"It's okay, Spike." Said Celestia. "Zecora told me you've moved the elements of harmony."
"Yeah!" Spike exclaimed. "I put them back in that old temple where they used to belong. You know, the place where Twilight and the other five stopped Princess Luna?"
"Yes, I remember, Spike."
"That's where they are now. I'll go and get them."
"Thank you Spike." As Spike rushed off into the darkness, Celestia sat down to drink some tea with Zecora.
"Brave dragon, he may be, but he is till a baby." Said Zecora. As Celestia pondered the riddle, Zecora showed her to her bed. Celestia was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
