Sometimes a princess may wonder, is there more to immortal life then papers? Well the princess of the sun never thought she'd think that question, until a certain hybrid caught her eye. They fell in love and had three wonderful children until..
Celestia never honestly moved her eye's off her studies. Until one day Discord, the lord of chaos and Disharmony, invites her to finally have 'fun'. Then after a few years it blossoms into a deep love. They finally got married and had three children, Prince Pax, side ruler of Equestria, Prince Illusion, a colt and youngest of but not the most immature also thought to take Pax's place as side ruler if anything goes wrong, and Princess Harmony, The sweet orderly mare who acts like Discord most of the time. One day Celestia notices that Discord hasn't been coming to family dinners lately, hasn't been showing up anywhere, and is barely seen.
He finally comes home one day and it turns to their divorce..

Prologue
Dear Journal,
Many years has passed, the land almost seemed to actually grow more peaceful over the few hundred years. You may expect Twilight and her friends to be gone but happily they are exact ponies my former student met years before. Ponies ask me how they are alive, I never gave an answer. Honestly it's just the fact that Twilight is now immortal, she has been, her friends are connected to the elements of harmony which is far more powerful than the magic I hold, as long as they are connected to that element they stay young and live. I haven't been the same lately, my adopted niece Princess Cadence has grown to be a fine mare magic I had at that age. She looks more royalty than my sister at times, but off that note, she is still weeping off of her husband's death. He had no magic connected to him to keep him alive. There was nothing any pony could do.. Though I am surprised to note that unlike everything I have told myself, my subjects come first before romance. I fell in love with a certain hybrid and had a son of my one, Illusion, prince Illusion I might add. It's been many year's since I've seen my family, all I got is my former student, my sister, and my elder son Prince Pax. To my knowledge, Luna and I are the only ponies that know of Discord and I's divorce. Why did we divorce you might ask? Well it was a normal evening and I was teaching my elder son about the royal bloodline and his grandparents. But Discord stopped showing up to family dinners, including my daughter Princess Harmony. Why didn't I mention her before? Well.. She is the middle child and it's a long backstory but where was I? Oh yes, I grew scared, Illusion and Pax only seemed to show up. Then only Pax.
Pax has a thing where he always stood by my side, never honestly leaving me, he cared for me like no other. He reminded me so much of Discord, but also Twilight.. She was always like my daughter even though I was her teacher, I'm proud of my son to this day. Though.. My other children stayed near their father, they only wanted to be with him. I never knew why till that day, that very day I pulled out the divorce papers. Discord finally entered our bed chambers I smiled with glee but he didn't back. Instead he lifted his mismatched eye's at me with sorrow. "D-discord is something bothering you? You haven't come to dinner and Pax is actually growing worried of you.. So am I.." I remembered the look in those eye's as he launched towards me. Silence as he stared into my violet eye's. At first the silence was deadly, I haven't seen that look in his eye's since I turned him into stone. Even then he was happier. I remember the whole conversation like the back of my hoof
"Why Celestia?" I remember the cold tone in his voice waiting, I stood scared of my one true love. "WHY?!" I finally reached onto my hooves leaning towards him. Like a princess should.
My head lifted a bit as I got a bit defensive, I don't know why... I was just scared, but the only thought I could make through my head at the time is 'He is snapping again..' "Why what Discord?" I softly answered.
His anger raised as the fire in his eye's launched at me. "Why?" His laugh was deep and rather.. Different, it wasn't a evil one, but rather a angered laugh. "Why.. why did you do that to us? Don't you care about Illusion and Harmony?!" Discord's strained vocal's raised with pure rage. I didn't respond, only a simple nod. "Are we your family or your subjects?! I do love Pax, but your more focused on your former student and our son to even care if we exist! Whens the last time you've tucked our own son in bed? Whens the last time you hugged them and cared about their presence?! When?!" My fear raised a bit then my head lowered, he noticed the guilt in my eye's, he loved me more than anything he tried to hold back his tear's. This was not the prankster I knew... Not at all, Discord has a thing when it comes to family.. Like any pony, he wants whats best for his own flesh and blood, and me.. His eye's raised and stared at me. "Celestia.. I love you, but we are your family! I know you can be a good mother but ever since you've had Illusion your to busy tucking in Twilight and your new student.. Whats her name? Ah a foal, her name is Mistydust I believe, are they your children? I understand Twilight because her parents where never there for her! But come on you've got two children who has been dying for your care! Or is Pax your only son?" At that moment I slammed the door open. He blinked at me.
I stood and walked out of the bedroom. The fire in his eye's faintly begun to fade. "D-discord, I'm sorry for not treating you better but-" I sighed I couldn't say it, it was the truth but I just couldn't. But then the regret of my existence blurted out of my mouth. "My subjects, Luna, my students, and Pax need me more than anything right now." I covered my mouth with my hooves and he just turned a blazing red.
"Oh? Is that so?" His voice was so different, but not as loud as before. "So you raised Twilight aye? Are you raising this Mistydust also?" I could hear him laugh at the end. "Look, I'll forgive you just give this all up! Be a teacher to her not a mother.. And be the mother of your children not a random mare that gave them life!" His voice grew louder, even louder than Luna when she got mad at me.
My wing's opened, I looked down up at him with a slight sigh. "Discord, I'm sorry.. Will you forgive me, will Harmony and Illusion forgive me?" I stuttered, my thoughts raced. I questioned if I could make more room for them, though she thought herself as a good mother. By surprise Discord snickered and a cotton candy cloud appeared over my head and chocolate rain begun to fall on top of me.. Then came down a note.
Ex-Dearest Celestia,
I see you want me to forgive you, but how can I? Your non-blood daughters are way to important, I'm taking Harmony and Illusion with me! Also here is some Divorce papers and lotion, you'll need it!

With all the chaos you don't deserve, and the order you get, Lord Discord.~
Then something that looked like Discord's tail shot out of the note and whacked me in the face. It still burns till this day.. And I looked at the lotion and threw it away, a detail I never told Discord.
It has been many years since that time, and my heart still is aching for the hug of my children and the kiss of my husband.

It begins
I'm confused..
Celestia stood in her chambers her head still laying on the pillow that was laid softly there, her thoughts kept racing. I miss Illusion and Harmony so very much, and D-discord.. Her train of thought was swiftly wrecked by a soft knock at her door. "Celestia? You've been in there for a while, Luna and I are worried.." A familiar daughter-like voice caught the attention of Celestia, as her head raised. She could never deny her former student. Long ago she was only her teacher, but Celestia saw it more like a mother-like fashion. It always edged her how her parents where so willing to get rid of Twilight, they where happy she could tell, but most of her life was going to be spent with Celestia. So it was only right that she viewed Twilight in that way. "C-celestia?" Her head shook as the door gradually opened. Sat there was a weeping princess, as Luna stepped in she gave a quick hug to her sister and then let Twilight step toward Celestia. "Please, you've been in here for moons! I don't mean to pressure you, but Luna rejected telling me what was the matter, I know Discord and your two other kids have relation to this, but you can tell me.. I am your friend.." The purple alicorn looked up at her mother-figure as Celestia softly sighed as her ear's perked and smiled slightly.
Celestia bit her lip. It's been a while since shes even spoken about this day. "I can always count on you Twilight... I suppose it's time I told you.." A sigh escaped before she sat in silence, Twilight eagerly leaned toward Celestia for once not taking notes. Finally the cold ice was broke by the sigh of Celestia. "You see.. Many years ago, Discord and I where married as you know, but I was to caught up signing papers and focusing on everything BUT my family... So my Discord snapped and he yelled at me, angry like I've never seen him before. He wanted to divorce..." Tears slightly rolled down Celestia's cheek. "We haven't fought like that since-" Luna eyed Celestia.
"Sister, you know not to speak of your youth years with Discord, it's a tragic story, only Tia, Dissy, and I speak of those days.." Luna chuckled as she thought of the old childhood nicknames Discord gave us. "Cay-cay, Lu-lu, mooney.. The only way we could pay him back was by calling him Dis or Dissy.." She smiled and Celestia rolled her eye's but she almost grinned a little. Twilight glanced at them both. She gave a 'how long' look and Luna raised a brow as she looked down upon Twilight. "Over 2000 years Mrs. Sparkle.. We share quite the history, after all Celestia was one of the reasons he went mad." Luna slightly smiled then caught on to what she had just said. Celestia looked up and teared up.
"I-i don't understand.." Twilight softly replied as she raised her audit's in confusion. "Princesses, we have to find Discord.." Twilight's wing's raised as she looked down at Celestia. "You've been my teacher for many years Celestia, but as the princess of Friendship and the mare who knows the princess of love, I say that we find him and rejoin the friendship and love that was lost many years ago. It is my duty as princess to take my role seriously, and spread friendship even to those higher than me." Twilight declared as she stomped her hoof. Celestia smiled once again, this is what she molded her bookworm student into.. "I'll tell Fluttershy to invite him to her cottage, I believe she or her son Buttermilk wouldn't mind a visit, after all, how many years has it been?" Twilight chuckled at the end before stepping more near Luna.
"Very well Sparkle, well lets get ready, it's not everyday we get to see long lost family after all." Her wing's unleashed and sore off to her bed chambers and Celestia nodded and shut the door, hoping for Twilight's help.
Celestia pulled out a certain dress that had always caught her eye. "I like this one, but are you sure this is needed? I'm not going to the gala.." Celestia softly asked before Twilight nodded and Celestia went off to try the dress on. The white mare stepped out, Twilight shook her head swiftly and there Celestia went trying on new outfits. Finally she stepped out with a beautiful gown. Twilight's mouth opened wide. "Well?" Twilight rushed over and put up Celestia's sparkling mane. "I haven't wore my mane up in years.." Still there Twilight sat frozen. 
"U-umm, Princess.. Tell me why don't you ever wear your mane up? Or at least design it? It looks beautiful, so does the dress!" Twilight reassured her before pushing her to go see Luna. "I'll be right back gotta throw on a gown of my own!" She hurried out the door and then Luna came walking in with her gown on. There Luna's eye's widened a bit.
"Since when do you look so different sister? I suppose I haven't seen you wore something like this in moons, but I do love your hair tied up though." She snickered before Celestia softly smiled in reply
- Twilight's home
"C'mon there got to be something! I really want to set a good impression!" Her hooves tapped the ground over and over until one caught her eye. She threw it on to where it would actually look nice, she hasn't looked so formal and uptight, but it was good enough.
A knock on Fluttershy's cottage caught Fluttershy's attention. There he stood the noble lord of chaos himself, alongside him his two children stood. "Fluttershy! My dearest friend, or has Pax replaced me?" He laughed before Fluttershy could reply. "Oh right! Hes nothing like me, uptight just like his mother! He could never replace me!" Fluttershy lifted herself towards Discord putting a frown on.
"Pax has been nothing but a gentlecolt towards me! If I where you I'd be proud of my flesh and blood, he is a close friend of mine, and he can act like you! Have you heard his laugh? Have you seen his sad face? He does remind me of a Discord, Celestia, and Twilight combined.. I suggest not complaining about him anymore, and he hasn't replaced you! You're a true friend of mine, but Pax also is!' Fluttershy actually spoke her mind. Discord scratched his head.
"Are you the real Fluttershy? The real one would never talk back to me..." His eye's turned red as a certain knock at the door caught his attention.
"D-discord?! Fluttershy? It's Twilight!"

Family Reunion (Edited)
Discord?....
The door was quickly opened by Discord, greeted with a genuine warm smile. "Ah isn't it Princess Twilight! Still in shape I see.. So you got a kid now? Whats her name? StaryMist?... Burster? Uhm... I haven't been here for many years so all I remember is Buttermilk and Rainbow's kid.." He kept on blabbing on and on until Twilight put a hoof to his mouth. He frowned a bit.
She groaned as she answered. "My daughter's name is Starburst.. And my son is Night Light Jr.." She almost fell to the floor as Discord held back his laughs, turning a ever so burning red. "Whats so funny?" Twilight yelled before Discord fell to the floor laughing. "I am ordering you! Stop at once!" She groaned and yelled almost like Celestia would. It would take a few moments but he continued to giggle.
"Pff!-" The beast couldn't catch his breathe. "Oh by the heavens above, I've never heard any pony name their child off a human product! Yes you know what I'm talking about aye readers? Anyway... 'Starburst' Get it? You should, after all you do pay monthly visits to a certain human world!" He stopped giggling. "You sound like Celestia..." He moaned. "Please don't end up so bland and boring, be princess Luna or Cadence who can take a joke!"
Twilight stood confused. First off, who was he talking to? Secondly I don't know what a 'starburst' is, but whatever.. "Thus, shall not speakest of my sister that way. You speak with a pure tongue in the presence of royalty Discord! You use to be my friend and royalty until-" Twilight's sweat begun to drip, the loud voice of the princess kept her in solitude for a moment.. Her heart raced silently shaking her head until she reached out and put a hoof over Luna's mouth. Discord stared deeply, he hadn't thought about it that way.. What have I done? Well what has she done? his thoughts trembled and collapsed. Until Discord broke the ice.
His voice stuttered at first, but his long everlasting sigh finally let go. "Listen here Lu-lu!" His voice seemed to echo over hers, his mismatched eye's finally met contact with Luna's, he didn't grin only gave a smirk. Strange.. "I'm not bound to Celestia anymore! Nor am I royalty but I never was!" Then he stopped in his hatred for words. "You see here!--" A knock on the door cut through his voice. "Who in the gods above is-"
"Sorry I'm late, If I was going to be absent Pax needed to sign documents and he was rather confused, oh well! Is Harmony and Illusion here yet?" Celestia was blabbing with thrill. There Discord stopped his jaw wide.
Oh by the heavens above, is that Celestia? Wh-what is she wearing?! Her hair is up, revealing the true beauty of those violet eye's of hers. The silky dress brings out the sun in her. Her silky coat I haven't been able to even feel her grasp in years, w-wait! Discord NO NO! This day dreamy stuff has gotten you into to much trouble! If I followed my day dreams Fluttershy would not be happy with me.. But- No Discord don't say a word just insults! She deserves it.. Finally Celestia's eye's widened fully showing her vibrant eye's. "C-celestia?" Discord seemed to mutter under his breathe as Twilight embraced the princess. Finally they met eye contact. He sighed. "Why, after all these years you still try to charm me! How flattering Celestia but I'm not interested in snobby mares.." He giggles a bit as Celestia slightly laughed. "What are you smiling about missy?"
"Discord, I am happy to see you, but I honestly came to see my children.. But may I ask you a question?" She laughed a bit as Discord perked his ear's and nodded his head still with a frown. "Did you miss me? I've missed you." The same line Discord used many years ago. He rolled his eye's at the slightest he'd feel mocked.
"The kids have, but a certain lord of chaos hasn't missed the time with Princess Sunbutt!" He continued to insult Celestia until the door barged open. There stood Pax, and behind them Harmony and Illusion. "Oh isn't it Prince Pax! Might I say you do look like me, but to much like your mother.." He laughed but noted how all of his children have Celestia's white coat. Pax frowned at the sight of his father while Harmony and Illusion ran passed their father towards Celestia.
"M-mother?!" Harmony slightly titled her head as her hooves trembled a bit, the thought of the pony that was never there for her.. Only cared about her studies and those who only saw the royal side of her, touching her.. Did she even deserve that title? Mother? Father had been there, yes he had made mistakes but tearing the family apart is another.. Celestia smiled brightly but Harmony stepped back a bit, just slightly still looking up at her. Discord rushed over to push Celestia away from Harmony.. Though Harmony just blankly stared, what was she suppose to think? It had been a hundred years.. Maybe she has changed?.. She wouldn't know, instead she put on a weak smile before gripping onto her father. "I've missed you.. But you really never proven to me that you are honestly my mother.. It's been a hundred years.." She said with a rather quiet tone, admitting her feelings.
Discord grinned, a sly grin as he peered over Celestia. She just looked so empty.. "Whats the matter Sunny? Not use to being the one who caused the problem? Oh look.. I fixed it for you, I was there their whole entire childhood.. While you? Honestly I don't know what you where doing, ah yes! While your children played you didn't even pay mind to them." Discord slightly snickered before smiling. Illusion just stared, he had a soft side for everyone, even at the worst they've done.. He loved his mother, but his father had been there for him. He was just in a bad mood.
Celestia looked down at Harmony without a word, only a bit of sadness.. Before turning away and not looking back. Discord lowered his grin, he was happy at first, to see her feel the same thing he had when she hadn't been there for him or his children, but he did care about Celestia is some way.. Though, he ignored it once more and looked away. "Dinner's ready everyone!" Fluttershy yelled as everyone but Celestia rushed in.
"What have I done?...." She muttered as her thoughts raced..

My father would never keep me from my own mother...
I woke, it was a beautiful night, almost as beautiful as my aunt Luna.. Though nobody could match to it. The sorrow in my heart kept pounding, all I can ask myself is.. What did I do to not be raised by my mother? I never ask for much, only the support of my family. I just moved in with my mother, sadly I've never gotten a moment with her. Shes still focused on her work, but now I know how hard it is for her.. Auntie Luna explained everything. How she tried her hardest, she can only do so much. This weekend Luna and Pax are going to take her place for the day, just one day just Harmony and me.. A knock on the door corrupted my thoughts. A light sigh would bridge over me, due to the pain and confusion I was feeling. I didn't answer, I couldn't... "Illusion, it's your father! Open up this instant or you got a week of chocolate rain over your head." My father's words struck me.. It was bad enough I had to deal with Harmony. Suddenly I couldn't take it anymore.. The door slammed open revealing anger in my deep mismatched eye's.
I couldn't make out words at first, only slow mutters. "What in Luna's moon could you want? I'm not in the bucking mood dad..." I had never raised my tone to him before, or spoke strongly towards my father. He seemed confused. Even more confused than when he looked at mother. I just hoped he would just go away, he didn't..
"Ugh! Illusion Bliss Celestial! Don't you dare raise your voice towards me!" My father made up more strange expressions before I looked up at him with gleaming but hate for eye's. "I'm here to talk about you mother, look...-" I swiftly stopped him with a hoof to his mouth. I couldn't stand hearing anything.
"Dad... I don't want to leave mother again, I know you love her, you're just to scared to admit it! But if you honestly cared about her, at least respect her as a ruler, you won't take us from her." I begun to weep a bit, only now noticing it, I was scared, I heard thumps.. No, it was my heart racing not wanting to look back at my father. He seemed to calm himself.
"Son.. I ...-" My father seemed to halt his words as I looked back at him with dreadful, sad filled, tear's strolling down to me. His paw wiped the tear's away as he raised his cranium and sighed in a exhausted, regretting sigh. "F-fine, we can stay.. If that means that my family is happy that's all that matters.
"Thanks, now please leave.." I demanded him out before closing the door on him. I couldn't stand hearing any more words.

Luna's Family (Side Story) Part 1
Author's Notes:
WARNING: This is suppose to be a fun, family like chapter. It's not suppose to contain any drama of the sort, it's just showing that even drama in a family will not honestly affect some sort of bond and care they have for eachother. Once again, this is a fun chapter, just taking a break from the yelling, conflict, and drama. I feel like this is a break from that. You have been warned.
Maybe, my sister isn't the only one with a family..
Luna silently sat in her room, listening to Celestia and Discord talk on and on about their past, angers, and many other things Luna would roll her eye's at, though she does understand.. But do they really need to yell at each other right near her door? "Discord I'm serious! My children need to stay here, in the castle!" Celestia yelled as Luna put a silence bubble on her room as they spoke.
"Who knew.." Luna slightly mumbled as she finally lifted onto her hooves, finding where the game controller went. "Supernova! Thee must wake up, you need to get Nidra so I can give her some 'lessons'" Luna spoke a bit as she pulled out two gaming controllers. Supernova softly smiled before swiftly heading off to Nidra's room. He had to walk past the creature and the princess of the sun blabbing on about what the meaning of their relationship was.
"Look you two, Luna and I are a happy couple, but I understand Luna always has duties to attend to. When your wife is the side-ruler of Equestria you can't expect her to always have room in her schedule. BUT, she never ignores Nidra and I, she doesn't favorite her younger son, or stick her muzzle in papers. Look, Celestia since your my sister in law I don't mind giving advice, now won't you two just shut up? You do see my son sleeps in the day and his room is right there." Supernova walked away not even waiting for a reply. Discord just gave that look like 'Did he really just do that?' while Celestia stared up at Discord. "Nidra! Wake up sleepy head, I know you had a long night yesterday, BUT mommy wants to see you for her daily 'lessons'." Nidra stormed up with a large grin before flapping to find her mother's bedroom. Then again passing the arguing ex-couple.
"Mother you needed me?" Nidra slowly padded in before giving her mother a strange look as Luna was playing games. "M-mother, you're over 1,000 years old, don't you think you're getting to old for this?" Nidra gave her mother a off look as Luna paused the game. "And I've never took a good glance at your bedroom.." Luna silently pushed her daughter out giving a nervous look.
"Dearest, one is never to olad to do the thing they love.. And I love gaming, Tia said the same thing. But look, now she even likes gaming. Discord plays every once in a while, Cadence I play games with every Saturday. Honestly, even though where all royalty fun doesn't hurt. Even Twilight tried, and failed.." Luna giggled at the end while Nidra arched a brow. And gave a look that said 'Then let me in..' Luna sighed and opened the door.
"G-gamer Luna? You got a computer, what do you play?" Nidra pulled up the browser and took a look at the tabs. "Whats Fimfiction?.. Devianart?.. Equestria Daily?.. What are you reading mother.. Clo-" Luna shut the laptop with a blushing like look on her face. Silently pushing her daughter outside of the room.
"T-tonight there is going to be a family gathering, it's usually just Celestia, Starburst, Cadence, Shining Armor, Twilight and I. But Supernova is finally getting a day off from his guard duties! So my niece and her brothers are coming, you should as well! Discord hasn't came in a hundred years, but I suppose he will be tonight, bye darling!" Before Nidra could reply the door slammed.
What was she reading?
- That night
"Hey Discord, are you coming to the 'family' gathering?" Luna arched a brow as Discord rolled his eye's. He was about to speak but there came a hoof to his mouth. "Yes, Tia is coming. Shes my sister, whether you like it or not you're dealing with her. Either be alone while all of us have fun, or join us." Discord sighed as he nodded before following Luna to the throne room. "Discord, if you don't remember, each of us get to do our favorite thing with our family for two ours each. Every year I do gaming, so everyone brings their controllers. Cadence, usually giving love advice. Twilight, usually reading us her favorite stories. Shining Armor? It's different every year.. Starburst? Flying, since we all have wings, except shining armor so he just runs trying to keep up with four alicorns, the pony who got flying lessons from RainbowDash, and Twilight? Shes pretty decent with her wing's, and Celestia?.. She well cooks us all a huge cake to eat, while she talks about politics, what about you?" Luna spoke with a strong tone.
"Oh! I got it, how about we all take a break from this boring stuff, and we can all visit a alternate universe! Oh I got it, how about a universe where there's realistic creatures with five fingers, flesh, and grown men who play with ponies.. Not that there is anything wrong with that.. And no, not Equestria girls if that's what your thinking.." Discord giggled as Luna looked so confused, it was a family night so it would be wrong to deny anything, so she just walked off. Luna stared as Cadence and Shining Armor finally arrived. "Oh... Hello every pony! So whose first, oh how about Lu-lu?"

Luna's Family (Side story -sorta) Part 2
Luna slightly rolled her eye's at Discord, obviously he was trying to rush this night to get to his turn, Luna grinned as she pulled out controllers. "Cadence, you brought your own right?" Luna inched her gaze towards the other alicorn as Cadence giggled with a nod. Celestia looked over to Luna in a off gaze. "Is something bothering you sister?" Celestia at first kept still, she then just sighed before Celestia whispered something in Luna's ear.. "Oh, alright. I'll be right there thee, just let me set this up." After Luna set up everything for gaming she just stared over at the corner her sister stood in. As the darker mare approached Celestia, she then broke the silence. "Sister, you where saying?"
Celestia looked up and sighed. Her voice trembling a bit, she was so use to being the stronger one. This time.. She wasn't. "Dearest, it's-" Her voice stopped for a moment as she took a moment to relax. Twilight noticed something peculiar.. Luna wasn't rushing to play, and Celestia looked very worried. The purple mare knew Discord would know whats going on. Though she would wait a moment. "It's D-discord, you see sister, he wants to take my children far from here.. He stated the only thing that is keeping him here is his friends.." She sighed slightly, hoping he was bluffing. Luna sighed once more before putting a hoof on her sister's shoulder.
"Your children may not trust you like they trust Discord, but know this, they do care for you.. Even if you made a large mistake, there's always a way to fix it.. Thus can always change, you can't change who you are, but you can change the way you act. Take when I was nightmare moon for example, with the help of six ponies I was showed that any pony can change.." Luna smiled.
Twilight continued to peer back at the two speaking, she couldn't hold back any longer. She had to see if they where alright, over the years Twilight learned Celestia is not only her teacher.. But her friend, and a friend must help another. Twilight would tap on Discord's shoulder as his gaze narrowed towards her. The mare pointed towards Celestia and Luna talking. He rolled his eye's and looked away. "Discord!" The mare shouted as he finally spoke.
"What?.. Oh you want me to listen in to their conversation, done! I wouldn't mind hearing some secrets the sisters share. I'm more interested in what Luna has to say but whatever it's not like I have anything better to do, It's boring waiting for Luna to finish her conversation." He floated back up in mid air while holding or squishing Twilight in his arms. "Hopefully this isn't a waste of my time.." He put his back against the wall while holding something to his ear. Twilight wouldn't dare speak.. She didn't want to stalk them, she wanted to help, she thought Discord would be able to, other than Luna he knows Celestia best. It was clearly obvious she was upset. "Hold on, I'm catching something!" Twilight was about to speak but was cut off by his words.
"Sister, I know Discord can be a pain in the wing, but if he leaves that means my children go.. And I can't bare losing them again Luna.." Discord was shocked by Celestia's words, she really thinks hes that cruel? He wouldn't dare go another hundred years without his children seeing their mother. "I don't know..After we divorced it felt like his main goal was trying to take everything away from me again.." He was growing very angry from her words, hopefully he wouldn't snap soon. Twilight could see the anger in his eye's, hopefully Celestia keeps her muzzle shut. Celestia sighed. "What if he snaps again, Fluttershy or I couldn't bare seeing him in stone again, I don't think any of us could." That was enough, wait.. She can't bare seeing me in stone? I understand my friends, but why her? He leaped out in plain few for Celestia to see. "Discord?! How long where you listening?.." His eye's where a blazing red, when his children where involved it wouldn't be pretty.
"Celestia.. Why can't you bare seeing me in stone?"

Okay, now where now shifting back to old territories. Hope you like it, the next chapter will also be a side story due to the fact it will play a valid role in the story and will affect it but it doesn't follow the usual plot and Celestia, Luna, and Discord aren't the main focus.
A shattered frame
The solar shined very bright as it's light flare peeked through the curtains of Harmony's room, her hooves tightened on the blanket as she even dared to wake herself. Until a loud knock on the door made her eye-lid's slightly creek open.. She wouldn't move a inch, she was so very tired. Go away, go away.. She continued to stay still as the knocking seemed to stop after a few moments. The door slammed open in a fit of rage, there stood her brother Illusion with angry eye's that could tear through Harmony's eye's. He approached silently as he sat on the bed, Harmony peered over at him so very confused. Why is he acting like this? Her jaw opened but it closed as his gaze begun to linger over hers. She remembered that look.. she knew it.. It was the look he had when they left Celestia. She never called Celestia 'mother' because she never earned that title, but Illusion had a weird connection to her and he wouldn't let it go. Finally she had the guts to mumble a few words. "Uhh.. Illusion, are you alright? You seem u-upset.." Harmony seemed to mutter but only a hoof came over her shoulder and Illusion just smiled, a soft one.
He sighed as he begun to remove his hoof from the mare's shoulder. "H-harmony.. I heard mother and father speaking t-they are arguing, unlike before. F-father he.. he.." He halted in his word's he couldn't admit a word. Illusion bolted out of the room in fear, he couldn't handle the pressure of his parents anymore, the only light in his life was his aunts and sister. I can't.. This time he took it to far.. that beast wasn't my father.. He was different, he wasn't the one who smiled at me.. He wasn't the one who protected his family.. Nor was that prissy princess, Father always promised not to- His thoughts halted, he had to calm himself. He continued to bang his head on the wall until a hoof came to his shoulder, it wasn't Harmony, it wasn't Celestia, it wasn't Starburst, or Cadence.. But it was a welcoming feeling. A presence people forget at times, he would never forget that touch though. His eye's turned over, L-luna? But two mares stood behind her. Twilight and Fluttershy, Luna and Twilight seemed to know Celestia best but Fluttershy was so very close to Discord, she knew him like the back of her hoof. Luna's tense usual gaze was gone he could see the softness and care in her eye's, it reminded him of.. no... He wouldn't dare think about them right now. "Aunt Luna, Aunt Twilight, Fluttershy? W-whats going on? Can't you see I want to be alone! I can't deal with thinking of mother and father anymore, nor can Harmony. Why did we have to be pulled into this? Why can't father respect mother's work? Why can't mother take time for us, I'm so confused Aunt Luna..." Then suddenly hoof step's that hadn't been heard in a while approached, his brother, Pax.. Side-ruler of Equestria, who seemed to out-rank him. Before any pony could respond Illusion cut them off. "Oh isn't it my brother, mother's favorite, aye?" His voice at that time sounded like Discord's, Fluttershy couldn't help but smile as he seemed to remind her of Discord but frown at the rude remark he had made.
Pax stared down in a rude glare but then shifted to a soft smile, like Celestia's. "It's been many years since I've seen you like this brother.. Please stop neglecting me, I know mother took much fondness of me, but know this.. I'm still your brother.. Your ruler.. And will you accept me as your friend?" Pax looked down upon him, before a hoof reached down and helped Illusion up. "Now then little brother, can you inform us on what happened between mother and Discord?" Illusion hesitated, his head lowered in sadness. Fluttershy cupped his chin in a very soft manner.
"Do not be afraid to tell us, we are your family.. Your friends, we all care about Discord and Celestia very much.. Now Illusion please tell us.." Fluttershy seemed to speak in such a soft tone it even made Illusion make a faint smile, finally he nodded in pure despair. He should trust them.. It's not like he was telling some stranger.. This was some of the ponies he cared for most. His eye's inched toward's Twilight, for once she wasn't eagerly holding a pen and notepad, just looking.. Staring with worrying eye's. While Luna stared silently at Ilusion, he was the center of attention and they all waited for an answer. Illusion almost couldn't.. Until Fluttershy softly put a hoof on his shoulder. "Whatever happened you can tell us.." Illusion finally nodded.. And they looked at each other, not with eager eye's but hopeful eye's.
"Y-you see..." His voice was under his breathe.. Suddenly his eye's shifted to them in a dark manner. "Father..." He couldn't hold it any longer, he had to let his words free. "He hurt mother.. Yesterday after our family gathering I was walking through the halls.. I-I saw Discord and Celestia speaking, then it turned to yelling.. They where talking and yelling about a lot of things, but mainly about Harmony, Pax, and I.. How we couldn't leave her again, then it turned to trust problems.. Then out of pure rage he.. Didn't just hit her he...-" Illusion broke through them running with full force. Not away, towards his father's room. Where he heard Discord stomping around. The door slammed open and there stood a angry Illusion, eye's turning a furious way. Discord looked over in pure confusion.. Then the ponies ran after Illusion. "I can't believe you dare hurt mother! After all you've been through with us, with her! I always knew that you had something strange about you, but out right hurting someone? You couldn't even hurt a fly! I don't care if she wasn't there for a few years, the day I learned who she was I knew I wouldn't have her A attention since, I don't know shes RULER of all Equestria! But you can't respect that! Because you-" He halted his pitch as his gaze met Discord's. "Are a monster.." Discord stood in pure shock, then it all came back to Discord.. Yesterday, when Celestia stated 'I couldn't bare to see him in stone' He couldn't believe he hurt her, he was to busy stomping around to remember that moment.. Where everything he cared for was destroyed.. Yes he cares for Celestia, he couldn't reject it anymore . Yesterday he hurt her, not only a hit.. Emotionally and physically, he left a bruise on her and her heart..
Suddenly he slithered out of the room and ran out to find Celestia, most likely thinking about what happened yesterday.

The Truth Soon Revealed
Give me the honest truth..
Luna stared blankly upon the ground she stood on, Illusion had just run off, without an answer.. "Thou must follow him!" She spouted and before they could catch onto her words Luna bolted towards the door Discord ran in, Celestia's bed chambers. A frown begun to express on the mare's face before raging in after them. Discord blankly stared at the rather cornered Celestia, her mane was messed up, her tiara and all her other armor off. "What in the name of my sister's sun is going on here?" The younger sister spoke with a royal tone, with a hint of worry in her tone. Celestia was still, she wouldn't move, she was to busy thinking.. About everything, after all it's not every day your children return and your ex-husband has to live with you. Discord couldn't help but just look, his gaze upon Celestia. He had never wished for this.. Suddenly Twilight stepped toward the mare, though Celestia looked up at Discord, not her sister.. Discord. "We should leave the two alone for now.. We must go.." Luna gave her sister a small hug before leading everyone except Discord and Celestia out. Finally a minute passes, just pure silence between them, a few times Discord tried to speak but his jaw closed quickly.
Finally, Discord had the moment to speak.. "Celestia, last night.. I went to far, I never mean't to hurt you.. Or any pony else in the process.." Discord slightly looked away, as sappy as his words where he hated seeming defeated. Until Celestia couldn't help but turn her back.
"Leave.." Discord tilted his head awkwardly and seemed to try to put his paw on her shoulder but was caught off guard by a cold stare. "I said leave!" Now using the royal voice Discord looked at her.. With a strange look he stood his ground. "We both know I'll never be a good mother for our children, I hate to leave them without a mother but it's for the best." Celestia hadn't thought about herself in this situation, Discord couldn't help but look confused.. Then the horn of the alicorn begun to glow as three bags where stuffed with items. "Your items are packed.. My guards shall escort you home, as it seems Illusion cannot teleport like you and Harmony it'd be best for you just to fly there.." Every time the princess spoke the sadness in her voice grew.
"T-tia?-" Discord silently muttered.
"I said leave..." Her voice begun to lift to a yelling point, yes even the great Celestia can express anger. If she couldn't tell him to leave, he would by force. Discord stood not lifting a single paw or claw. He then begun to frown, a sign of slight anger that she was trying to force her own family out of her home.
The lord of chaos couldn't leave.. If he did he would lose everything again his friends, Fluttershy, his children's pure happiness, and.. Celestia. "No.. I'm not leaving Celestia." His voice firm and demanding. Celestia looked back with a ice cold stare, her brows starting to arch. Then suddenly Discord didn't think.. He knew a way to make sure everything would be alright.. "Celestia, I got a question for you.." Celestia didn't reply, only a curious look formed on her face. "Over a thousand years ago, I promised to take you somewhere on your 20th birthday, didn't I?" He giggled, a low giggle.. Celestia then remembered everything that happened on her birthday that day. He had never took her, it was a long story why.. But he never did. She looked back with a nod gradually appearing. "I know you are no longer twenty.. But perhaps I could take you to that place, hmm? You'll find it familiar.. I may have not taken you there on your 20th birthday but we've went there with Lu-lu before.." He slightly laughed as suddenly he grabbed onto Celestia's hoof. "Follow me.."

Outside the door Twilight begun to pace in circles, hoping her former teacher was doing alright, a few times almost knocking on the door. Luna tried to comfort Twilight, reassuring that Celestia was doing fine, after all Discord knows things about Celestia only Luna should know. "I got to make sure everything's going well.." Twilight swiftly knocked on the door, hoping for a quick answer, no response.. Once again Twilight knocked, nothing.. Luna even began to knock, then leading to opening the door. The dread hit Twilight instantly, her hoofs stood ice solid, searching for Celestia eyeing every inch of the room. The purple alicorn felt worried, scared even.. Where had she gone? "Celestia! Princess?" Her eye's then shifted to the open window. There wide open, the curtains being blown by wind. Luna quickly ran over to the window, looking into the distance, it took her a moment... But two figures could be made out.. A mixed creature and a flying white alicorn. "Where is he taking her?" Twilight muttered slightly before turning to Luna. Then all the eye's turned to Fluttershy, Illusion didn't look over, he just smiled. "Fluttershy, do you know where hes taking Celestia?" Twilight turned over to her friend smiling with glee.
"W-well.. He never really speaks about the princess, only when they where married.. So I really don't know where he'd take her, but m-maybe you could just let them be?.." Fluttershy begun to let a soft smile appear, but they all glared at each other and Luna gradually nodded in reply before padding out, followed by Pax. Twilight decided to just stare, she didn't know what to do.

Celestia's wing's kept flapping as she continued through out the eerie night, the only light seeming to be the beaming moon that left shimmers of light onto Celestia's pure pale coat, she couldn't help but snicker at the thought of how much the night reminded her of Luna, the beauty, the stars glistening in the dark sky, and the large beautiful and amazing Lunar. "The night is full of chaos isn't it?" Discord laughed a bit, a soft laugh, as Celestia inched over with a smile. "You know Celestia, honestly you're the only pony except for Pinkie that understands chaos, a surprising fact. After all you are one of the most boring ponies to live.. No offense 'princess'.." He mocked as he stared over at the distant location they where heading. Celestia looked over at Discord with a slight smile. "Where going to be there soon, hopefully you like it.." Discord smirked before continuing to fly foward.

Friendship is a precious thing..
It was a dark night, only the gleaming moon could brighten the night sky, then it still wasn't enough. Illusion sat staring at the surface, he was in the royal garden, thinking about everything, his parents, what was his role here, and his life.. He remembered everything that night so clearly, he was heading to see his mother, spend time with her but then he heard yelling, loud yelling.. At first it was just arguing as they would always, but he heard them say horrible things.. "F-father?.. M-mother?" His words where so quiet he couldn't hear himself say it, then the yelling raised, they where speaking about Pax, Harmony, and Illusion.. After, it slowed down.. But as he approached them, he saw the horrible.. My father, he... His thoughts crashed as hoof step's approached, it was Starburst, out of all ponies, it was Starburst.. "Please go.. I'm not in the mood for Aunt Twilight to drag me into one of her lessons.. Or fill me with questions.." He groaned as he felt that Starburst was going to take him to Twilight. Starburst then shook her head in a very soft manner, she softly smiled.
"Illusion, look I really hate being sappy but.. Just know, I'll always be here for ya', remember when we where kids? We where like best friends, I miss it.. Don't let your parents ruin everything you cared about, you're my friend.. I want to be here for you.. Please let me be.." Before Illusion could reply Starburst gave a large hug to the prince, he couldn't help but hug back. "I know everything will be alright, my mother and father divorced as well due to everything just not working out, but now my mother is happy living with Celestia, I may not talk much but know I'll be here for you, we all will.." The mare chuckled at her own words, as she joyfully smiled at the prince.
Illusion couldn't help but smile back, he missed his time with Starburst honestly, this was the best time he has had in years. "C'mon, I wanna show you something.." He grabbed the mare by the hoof and flapped over to his destination, as Starburst happily rolled her eye's. "It's good to get away from all that right? Harmony hasn't been out much, and Pax well.. Hes like mother, he loves to see other ponies but he'd rather stay in the castle.." Starburst chuckled in a reply as they landed on top of the castle's roof.
"Why are we here?" Starburst softly questioned.
"You'll see.." He gave a smirk as they sat there in pure silence until, a sight of beaming light peeked from the far off slopes. "Mother's sun, it's beautiful isn't it? Father use to always say the sun was like mother, bright, heart warming, beautiful, and a bunch of other sappy stuff.." Illusion laughed as Starburst couldn't help but stare, she never got a good view of the sun really.
"It's beautiful.." Her eye's kept staring until Illusion hugged Starburst once more.. It was a slight surprise but Starburst learned to roll with it.
Illusion softly smiled, this is what he needed, his best friend and the thought of his mother's sun, and peace. "Thanks for cheering me up Star.. You know, you can be very kind if you get past that attitude. Like father.." Illusion continued to blab on about random things until Starburst seemed to be hiding something. Something he needed to know, but Illusion didn't want to bring it up. She hasn't spoken and she has been staring at her hooves.. "Hey uhh.. Starburst, I think it's time I told you what happened between my mother and father.." Illusion seemed to be sweating, he didn't want to say a single word. "Lets.. Just say he used his own magic against her, but that wasn't it.." He couldn't say anything more, she wanted to know so very bad, and he did care about her so very much a simple answer would do it. Starburst sighed, she just embraced him.
"Thank you for trusting me.." Starburst softly said.
"Anything for you Starburst..." Illusion spoke with a very upset but calm tone.

Past into the Future
It was a silent night, Celestia and Discord still where still flying, searching for the location. "Discord.. Why don't you just teleport us there?" Discord snickered in reply to the princesses question, he wouldn't say a word.. If he opened his mouth he'd just make her more upset than she already is. "D-discord.. I think now would be the right time to speak with you.." Discord's glance narrowed over in interest, but before she could continue he stopped, they where hovering over.. Ponyville? Discord continued to fly on, and Celestia gradually began to follow. They quickly found themselves over the everfree forest.. Discord stopped in mid air once more.. As he gripped onto Celestia's hoof and leaded her down to the dark eerie forest.. "Discord, why are we here?"
"Isn't it obvious?.. No I guess not I suppose ponies need a refresher here and there, well when we where I don't know.. In our mid-ages I took you here.. You always told me being a princess doesn't fit you, that you want to explore and see the world.. That's why seeing you like this is strange, sending your sister to the moon, letting papers corrupt you, and.. Turning me to stone.. At first my chaos was suppose to be for everyone's laughter, especially yours.. But then you-" He stopped the slight anger but sadness in his eye's, he had to say this.. It was the only way for her to know.. "Threatened to banish me, soon it all turned to anger and I was in prison.. Is that what you want? To banish your family, to ignore your children, to put your best friend in stone?" Discord's words where a bit of a shock to Celestia.
"Discord.. I-" She couldn't help but stare, she remembered everything so clearly. The forest is the only place in Equestria where difference is shown, and she fell in love with a different creature.. "Discord, I love Illusion, Harmony, Pax, and you.. I'm sorry that my Royal duties got in the way of my care for others, it was hard enough seeing you go, but then my sister.. I was alone for a thousand years.. Until Twilight came along, and I had to let her go as well.. Discord please forgive me for my foolishness.." The princess seemed to be almost weeping, afterall this was her dearest friend.. Discord wanted to say something but all he did was smile, he just wanted the truth.. Shes not boring, shes the most chaotic mare to live.. And Discord wants to see it once again.
"Well.. If you love them so much why don't you throw away your papers?" Discord almost smirked as Celestia arched a brow. Strange, for once they weren't yelling. Discord is usually the one making the mistakes but Celestia learned there is more to her existence than her role as a princess. Discord then remembered when Celestia was just a filly. Strange..It seems only like yesterday we where pulling pranks on Luna and escaping that prison she called home.
"Discord, thank you.."
"For what?"
Celestia softly smiled before looking over with gentle and hopeful eye's. "For reminding me who I am, yes I have been caught up in my work.. And I should have never taken it out on my student, friends, and family. It's my fault my sister was nightmare moon, I neglected her, I knew ponies saw me as their main ruler.. But as Luna grew more angry, I did nothing.. And with my former student, she always seems to save the day, but I'm not always their to help her back up, and my magic.. Yes it's very powerful, but It's weak at times.. Am I fit to be a ruler? A teacher? A mother?..." Discord snickered in a rude way, he didn't mean to, but he did.
"Oh Celestia, always so over-dramatic about things. Scared to have a few flaws on the outside, aye? Well I will admit you're a fine ruler, an amazing teacher I mean Twilight has saved the world a bunch of times and look at Sunset Shimmer she maybe had a few bumps but shes 'very' powerful, and a mother?.." He halted his words, staring as Celestia calmed herself. "Lets just say you can be a great mother if you try.." He muttered, he really wanted to groan at his sappy words but he didn't. "Fluttershy has taught me a lot about friendship, I know you hate getting close to ponies because you're immortal and such but.. I have lost many friends some that are alive and some are passed, such as I lost you when you became a ruler..." He stayed silent as Celestia wrapped a wing around him.
"Dissy, you're an amazing father.. And I am a horrible mother.. Just know that no matter what, you've got a bunch of friends who would do anything for you.." She sighed.
Discord was getting ready to head back to the castle, and for once he felt complete, as he flapped back to the castle he shared very soft glances with the princess. Illusion was now inside, watching his parents, as Celestia approached him. "Darling, why don't you get ready for bed? You are only a 107, teenagers need their rest, after all tomorrow you're getting a magic lesson with twilight to learn to control your alicorn magic." Celestia softly said as Illusion did nothing but smiled, and headed off. "Harmony you too darling, you are getting a magic lesson with your father tomorrow, since you share his same type of magic, we can't have you turning 115 without you knowing the basics can we? And Pax please meet me in the throne room tomorrow we got a meeting." She said to both of her children as she headed into her room. Obviously, she was tired.. So much to do, so much to organize, only if she had time off.. But who knows, tomorrow could be different.

Hey, sorry it's late! I know it's been forever but here it is!
It's time to settle our differences..
The light hued mare's violet eye's snapped open in a quick instant, her brain swiftly filling with her schedule automatically. Her jaw's opened to let a calm yawn escape. The wind bristled through the mare's wavy and beautiful mane as the fancy and well decorated window snapped open. "Hmm?" She sighed shutting the window with her rather powerful magic, then placing her crown on her head and getting set for the long day.
A quick flash of light appeared, quickly fading and after stood a chaotic being. "Why isn't it my dearest friend Celestia? Nevermind we all know flutters got my back more than you, it's already proven.." He snickered as he sat in mid - air. Celestia rolled her eye's as she began to walk out the door. "Almost forgot to tell you, all you're duties have been finished. Well most, still got a few things to attend to but let's just say it'll take a moment before you even think of attending them." The light's mare's eyes shot wide open, giving Discord a frown.
"What did you do?"
"What any friend would do, Tia!"
"Friends? I'm not friends with monsters like you!"
Discord was confused. "I thought we where? I took you to your childhood spot you haven't been in years, I raised our children while you taught Mr . Prince the basics of magic, I did everything to help you with your duties, I reformed because I thought after all this time after all I've done you'd be the one who'd get it the one who had my back, and what did happen to friends forever, huh? I forgave you for your mistakes, can't you forgive me? Hmm?.. Or am I just to evil?.. Huh? Why do you REALLY think I avoid you, this reason. What if Twilight saw your true colors, you changed everyone for who they where, need an example? You changed me from what makes me ' me ' chaos! That changeling queen, whoever she is, wanted love to feed her subjects she is a loving mother doing whatever to make sure they don't die! Twilight?.. She was happy for who she was, sure friends helped her in the long run, but are you not happy with your student for who she is? Sunset Shimmer was your student who did everything in her power to make you happy! But she wanted a reward and you hated her for it! Celestia you aren't perfect! Nor am I, get that through that blinded brain of yours! Or do you need your castle to be made of cheese again? Hmm?.." Celestia was furious at this point, she stomped her hoof to speak.
"I did it all for my kingdom! I'm sorry your jokes where more important than your friends at the time, Luna and I cared for you! But instead you turn around and act like my kingdom was your play house! A wise royal does what's right, no matter the cost, I know I'm not perfect but Discord I try to be so the kingdom and my family feel safe! Through that twisted mind of yours, there use to be a caring & gentle creature, who loved a few simple jokes but you turned my life upside down and I loved it! That's why I loved you, that's why all of your friends care for you! You never would even think of hurting Fluttershy, would you? Well you hurt your old best friend, and when I fell in love for a second time I thought you changed! I thought you knew I had duties, but you couldn't see that could you?" Celestia's was using her royal voice as Discord sat listening to everything.
"Excuse me princess, I have better things to attend to than listen to you complain about it being so hard to be a ruler.. And I did know, but I always saw you with Luna, you care so much about that moon pony, so I thought family was more important... Wasn't it?" In another quick flash of light the hybrid faded away to be set in his own home, everything different and chaotic. "That pony doesn't know a single thing, does she?" He floated around to eventually find a dresser, a very strange dresser.. On the very bottom contained a photo, a simple one actually.. Three friends with a creature in the middle with a goofy smile also beside two small alicorns. "Hmph..." He wiped away the dust it contained to see the white alicorn's big smile as she stared at the creature's chaos.
Illusion's eye's settled on his father packing bags, his face turned to shock. "Father, what are you doing?" He was frowning, not wanting to leave the place he called home. Discord turned to him and let out a sigh, he wasn't in the mood. Discord continued to pack bags, ignoring his son. Discord really didn't want to talk. "Dad?" Discord didn't answer but stopped his packing. "Dad answer me!" Still nothing. "DAD!?" Discord was pressured to speak.
"Illusion!... I can't.. This women is driving me more mad than I already am.. Your mother has changed, and it's time we forget about her and see a new chaotic light. We are going home.. Don't you miss living in the chaos realm? It's boring here.." He made a fake laugh at the end, but not looking at his son in the eye's. Discord took a quick glance at his son and saw sorrow and slight anger in his eye's. "Son.. I can't lie anymore.. I just can't do this anymore, I'm the lord of chaos I wasn't built for this.. I regret everything, I regret marrying Celestia, I regret even coming here, I regret leaving most of my chaos behind.."
"You regret having a life?.. You regret me? You regret marrying the only pony whose ever loved you? Father, are you blind? You got three loving children who love you! Friends who care about you! And... I'm sorry my mother made some mistakes. I once thought she was the fool, but you're the fool for not seeing how much she actually cares! You know how hard it is to rule a kingdom? To make time for family? At one point mother had nobody! But.. Aunt Twilight, she told me once she married you that emptiness was filled.. She loves you dad, but I wish you could see that.." Illusion yelled at the end, before quickly running off. Discord's ear's lowered, chaos wouldn't save him now. Illusion ran to Fluttershy, a great friend of his. "F-fluttershy?" Her soft gaze turned to Illusion.
"What is it Illusion? Do you need something?" Her voice soft and caring.
"Did my dad, tell you we are moving back? To the chaos realm.." I begun to tear up. "I can't do this anymore Fluttershy, my family is upside down! I feel empty.. My sister Harmony can't handle it either! Long ago we where a family, now it's torn apart..." I sighed as Fluttershy giggled a bit, I was slightly confused. "What's so funny?" She wiped away my years.
"Many many years ago a pony, a princess perhaps complained about a chaotic creature, yet she was blinded by his past deeds. Though that creature stole her heart one day, listen.. Illusion, you're father isn't always a funny and happy creature.. Hes more than you think, he loves you're mother with all his heart I can see it every time he looks at her.. While Celestia loves him, shes just afraid, shes not mad at Discord shes mad at herself.. Shes afraid she can't change and she'll let you all down again. Illusion......... They where mean't to be together, but there is one thing blocking them from eachother. Their beliefs, remove that block and I promise everything will be alright again.. Celestia is just like Discord and Discord is just like Celestia." Fluttershy smiled, and that moment I knew what I had to do. I thanked Fluttershy and flied back to the castle.

Celestia walked in, her eye's filled with sadness. "So you're leaving?...." Discord sighed, and nodded, a frown on his face. "Look.. Dissy.. I'm sorry, without you and my children I'd be insane.. Before you leave, I'd like to inform you that there is a gala tonight.. would you like to join me? Just one gala so I can have a full goodbye.."
"Fine... Hopefully, this is worth my time.." Discord once more sighed and continued packing.

One final dance...
I remember it like it was yesterday...
His eye's gazing through me like sharp glass, his fist clenched, his voice sour. Pain in his heart, It wasn't him, nor was it me.. I remember calling his name, but it was a quick flash of light, I was struck into the wall.. his magic had thrown me across the room, it was a quick pain. Before I could even speak, I use my powers back at him, what had gotten over me? Since when did I use violence as an answer? Since when did he use violence as an answer?
"Celestia!-" His tone quickly changed, he actually for a quick moment was confused as to why he did such a thing, but I blasted him. Obviously he would be fine, but at the moment it was the worst pain he seemed to ever encounter. We both regretted our actions.
"D-d-dissy? I don't know what came over us-"
"Leave me be! How about get your head out of the clouds for once.. I shouldn't have used my magic, but YOU.. wouldn't stop would you? Had to make me snap.. I'm tired of acting like nothing is wrong.. nothing will fix this marriage, our friendship, NOTHING! You act so perfect, yet you're not Celestia!-"
"Discord I'm sorry-"
"Sorry won't cut the years I have spent reforming, changing everything for this family! I'm tired of it.. If I didn't have my children and my friends, this place would be my chaotic lands, but I'm not like that anymore.. But you, are the one who has changed, you're a good ruler, but NOT a good sister, wife, or MOTHER!" He huffed turning his back.
"Discord let me explain-"
"What is there to explain?"
"Just go!"
"What?..."
"I said go!"
I ran off, feeling so much guilt, padding into my room tearing up. I wish I had never been so foolish, I miss my old life. I miss my family..

"Celestia! You in there? The gala is about to start!" Twilight's voice ringed through my ear's, as I snapped back into reality.
"Ah, yes! Just give me a moment, getting ready.."
"Alright, though you better hurry." I smiled as my student trotted off, all the wonderful colts and mares I can greet there. I don't believe Harmony or Illusion has been to one before, I remember them as fillies, they where the most adorable thing. Back then.. I didn't understand this mother thing, and I still son't fully, Twilight was different.. She as a filly was rather easy to take care of.. She enjoyed learning, and she was only one filly. I try to be, but it's hard you know? My parents where always sending us to schools to learn magic and taught us how to be proper rulers, they rarely spent any real time with us. Maybe, I should stop worrying about my kingdom so much, because.. my family is more important, I've ruled for over a thousand years, it's time I be happy for once.
As I finished brushing my mane, and putting on my gown I headed out to the gala.

I finally entered, as it was about to start in a few minutes. I sighed, eyeing the guest, many very well.. normal as a matter a fact. I always smile, I always try to be my best.. But it's never enough, is it not? I wish I could be any pony else, I love protecting my kingdom and my family but... If I just.. Had one moment with them, I could finally see their smiles. I remember my mother ruling the kingdom, I was so young. No struggles, no worries.. And Discord, he made it even lighter than it already was! Oh I miss those days. But here I am, shaking hooves. It's an honor to do this, it really is.. But is it terrible I want more out of life? But I was dragged from my thoughts at the arrival of my sister.
" Sister? You seem rather gloomy.. Is everything alright?.... Is this about Discord? " Her voice soft and calming which made me softly look into her eye's that shined with desire and hope.
" I would hate to lie to you Luna, so yes... I miss being myself, this is me but I feel like there is so much more to my life.. Than this.. " Luna softly smiled, and wrapped her hoof around me. Her blink slow, she always comforted me in hard times, " I remember how lonely it was so many years ago and now.. wait.. I have a family and so many who not only respect me but care for me. " .. Luna chuckled a bit.
" I'll take it from here, how about you my dear sister go have fun for once? "
" No Luna I could never do that to- " Luna shoved me lightly a bit, I tried to stand still. I would never let my dearest sister take my role just to let me have fun, she matters more than my fun.. " Sister, you mean the world to me.. I'm fine with staying here... "
" Sister this is your chance... I won't stop you.. " Luna perked her ear's to me, as I brushed my flowing mane out of my eye's.
" My chance for what?... "
" To make things right.. "
" How do I do that? "
"... It's your choice sister, shake hooves or.. go make things right.. long ago this choice wasn't seen to you, but now it is. Family or royalty? " Luna's eye's where soft, as she looked up at me. I teared up a bit and I embraced her softly, making sure she knew how greatful I was.
" Thank you.. - "
" Now everypony! Get a partner it's time to slow dance! " The announcer loudly announced as Luna weakly smiled and sorta pushed me forward.
" Go on.. " I gave her one last loving glance and went on my way. Still feeling guilt for her doing this.
Before I could even scan my area, a brown colt with a shiny tux greeted himself. " Good evening Princess, would you like to dance? " My eye's brightened, how great it would be to spend some time with my subjects!
" Of course sir.. " I chuckled, and it was simple. Well not really... Weirdly I wasn't the best at dancing, I would step on hooves and such but I try my best. I didn't fail, only a few times..
" Uh.. I suppose not even the most graceful are the best at everything.. " The colt wasn't amused by my dancing skills, that's why I never got married before Discord. As princess Mortals would go by so quick and I would feel so much pain it would kill me plus some of the more interested colts would never accept me for who I was.. But then Discord came back, I remember how he use to make me laugh. How when we danced he just laughed and tried to guide me through it. Oddly he was never a bad dancer and enjoyed it.. The chaos would always enjoy a nice tune.
My eye's captured that ponies where switching partners, I smiled at the colt one last time and made my way to the next colt.. Every single colt different and interesting yet the same, I felt it was needed to dance. After all, maybe.. Just maybe I would find someone who understands me. I almost prayed in my head the next colt I would run into would understand and guide me. Without looking, as I switched partners once again I just gracefully fell into the music and switched with the nearest colt.
Though to my surprise, I glanced at him and almost was startled, it was Discord! Why would he be dancing at the gala? I knew he was invited, but why dancing? He loves to dance but he usually causes chaos, even if it maybe a bit enjoyable it's not normal for him.. " Ah look who it is.. " His tone was very amused by how I was so quick to be startled by his sudden appearance.
" Discord this was a mistake I'm sorry.. Uhm, I was just into the music and didn't know you where dancing.. I should go. " I just felt uncomfortable after our last encounter, I didn't want to be rude to my friend but.. I just didn't know..
" My dear, just enjoy the music. No need to apologize, after all this is the night of chaos.. " I was slightly confused as I glanced up at him once more, as he noticed I did have slight trouble following his lead. " Amusing at it is to see you try to dance my dear, if you are able to remember anything it's that you follow the music and don't focus just relax. Some cotton candy relaxes me but it's quite different for everypony.. "
" Oh right.. Heh.. " I tried to remain silent as deep inside I really did want to embrace him and tell him how much I miss him I just tried to dance.
" Quite boring this gala is..... Some life is needed.. Maybe I can make the punch into- Nah.. Or I can line the walls with cheese! That isn't cheesy is it? " I laughed a bit, his bad puns always made me chuckle and smile. Oddly he pulled me closer as I laughed a bit. " It's good to hear your laugher again Tia.. "
" And it's good to hear your loving voice.. " He didn't reply for a minute, just glanced at me softly a few times. I haven't seen him like this in ages, all of this aggression was slowly being put to rest.
" Remember how as fillies I was so naïve and thought the world was so accepting? Yeah.. those where the days. Cotton candy clouds and pigs with wings! " I smirked a bit as I continued.
" Or when you changed my parent's castle to cheese! Yeah, they weren't very happy.. " Discord just chuckled and continued to lead me in the dance.
" At least it made you laugh. " He muttered, but I could hear him..
" I was so stupid then to Discord, at one point I was so scared for you but I ended up- " I stopped speaking turning my gaze away. " I just ended up seeing the real you I suppose, we were good friends! "
" Tia.. Don't say that.. " Suddenly, I could feel the other side of Discord slowly coming out, the one I loved so dearly. " You where always more than just a simple friend, I have a strange appreciation for beauty.. "
" And I have a strange appreciation for chaos, imbalance can be a bit fun.. As long as it gives out a good laugh, and no harm done.. " I finally admitted to him I enjoyed his chaos, which didn't shock him but he was surprised at the least.
" Tia you understand me more than any pony else... " He huffed, staring at me deeply.
" And you get me more than any pony in this world, along with Luna of course.. " I added, it was quick but we just stared at one other deeply before we locked lips, it was quick but powerful. I pulled away as fast as possible a blushing red. " Dissy I'm sorry I shouldn't have, it's very inappropriate of me to do so.. "
" Tia... " He turned away. He muttered something I couldn't catch but we stared at one another one last time before I found myself in a dance with a different colt.

" Dad?... "' Harmony has been quite silent lately, not taking in any of the drama, her flowy mane and white coat like her mother's, as she walked in surprising her father. He was holding something, a picture of Tia, Luna, and him.. She was laughing, he grasped it and barely put it in the suitcase. " Why can't we just teleport our stuff back home? "
" In no rush dear.. " His tone mournful, almost depressed.
" I don't want to leave dad.. I like studying with Aunt Twilight... "
" We have to go dear.. "
" Why? "
" We just have to! I'm sorry dear.. I can't stay your mother and I don't belong together thus I have no place in this castle.. "
" Of course you do, you love mom don't you? "
" Of course I always deep inside will, but I'm doing what's best.. " He never made eye contact with his daughter, he just finished packing each time it getting slower. " Let's go say goodbye to everyone, then we'll be off.. "
He headed out into the main room, everyone especially Fluttershy and Celestia seeming to be very upset. Discord snapped in a picture of Discord and Fluttershy saying ' Best pals! ' In bold letters and gave it to her. Twilight he gave a simple book, but not any book. The history of his species, a rare book and not usually found. " Keep that safe book horse. " He weakly chuckled, as he glanced at Pax saying goodbye to his siblings. " Son? " Pax turned to him.
Pax quickly embraced him, tears strolling down as Discord returned the hug. " DAD please don't go! P-p-please.. Mom will let you stay I promise.. I promise.. " Discord just weakly smiled.
" Pax my boy, you're better off without me my boy. " He laughed just popping in a necklace that said ' 1# Son! ' On it, Pax weakly chuckled and gave his father one last hug.
" Celestia?.... "
" Discord?..."
" I love you my dear. " He huffed, not even turning to glance me as I returned the love in a huge embrace.
" I- I-.. I wish you good travels.. "
" And to you to darling.. "
He just made his way out of the front door, seeming to not be in a rush at all. Not even WANTING to leave, he just left anf continued to fly off a bit with his children.
" I'm going to miss him so much.. " Luna laughed a bit, I turned to her. " What's so funny sister? "
" If you love him then why are you standing here? "
" WHY am I standing here? "
" Go after him! Hurry! " Everyone stood in shock as I flew off, not another word came out of me. Discord was already far off.
" DISCORD! D-DISCORD! " I was so loud, my guards oddly stared at me but I continued to fly. Discord didn't seem to hear. " DISCORD! " Finally he stopped, glancing behind him. Once they all stopped in their tracks I could catch up.
" Cele- " Before he could say a peep I kissed him, wrapping my hooves around him not wanting to let go, he was in pure shock and my children just smiled.
" Discord! I can't take it anymore, I love you... so much.. I want you, my kids.. All of us, I won't shatter a family for my royal title.. Please.. "
" Are you kidding me Tia? Of course my dear! I have been nuts to refuse staying.. " He was the happiest he has ever been as we just stared at another for a minute.
" Celestia.. will you marry me? Again?.... " It was sudden but I knew the answer...
" YES! "
